The Retelling Story of IGODO
Chapter 14

The forest of the Living
Quickly Odum with Ikenga quickly blow the substance on the five ancient spirits unannounced, subduing them all at once.

“That was so easy than I thought “, Ikenga said immediately they had subdued the ancient spirits.
“Yes so easy”, Odum nodded his head unanimously.
“Let us be quick, we shouldn’t waste our time. Today marks the end of our seven days given to us by Okike, so we have to be quick in bringing the knife to Okeki”, Uzodinma announced to the others.
“But that also reminds me, how did Odum and the three of you survived?” Prince Ebuka asked.

“Well, something or rather should I say someone helped me out of that pit that swallowed me and lead me here, that was when the three of them fell on top of me, from the sky, obviously from that golden river you all had peddled”, Odum explained to Ikemefuna and co.
“So you mean to say that the river was actually another shortcut to here?” Ikemefuna asked surprisingly as he stares at Uzodinma.

“Yes Ikemefuna, the river lead us to Odum”, Ikenna confirmed.
“Well, we are happy Amadioha kept you all alive, but time is going, when we reach the land of humans, we are going to tell Okike what had happened, for now let us redeem the knife”, Ikemefuna said, his eyes still trailed on Uzodinma, who averted her eyes.
They all agreed to what Ikemefuna said and ventured into the cave.

When they entered the cave, they saw two paths leading deep into the cave.
“I don’t get it, I thought when we were about entering the cave before we were blocked by those ancient spirits, I am sure I only saw one path”, Ikenna said.
“Well, this is the forest of the dead and also where the knife of Amadioha is, anything can happen or change anytime”, Odum said then continued “But we should not allow fear to rule us”.
“Yes I agreed with what my brother, Odum said. We should follow the left path, I sense the knife of Amadioha in that path”, Ikemefuna said preventing Uzodinma from saying a word.
“Are you sure?” Odum asked Ikemefuna to be sure of what he said.
“100% sure”, Ikemefuna replied.
“Okay then, we are taking the path Ikemefuna said”, Odum concluded.
They all began to follow the path, Ikemefuna made sure he was at the back of Uzodinma, his Agu had told him something.

Meanwhile in Nwagebe Village.
Nneoma smiled to herself at the failed plan of Olanna, the disguise one.
At first she thought it was the real one who had visited her, but her aura seemed and smell different from the one she was used too. What even made her believe that it wasn’t Olanna was when she asked about her siblings.
Olanna and her siblings don’t see eye to eye, that was why she hærdly visit Nneoma.
So Nneoma was surprised when she asked about her siblings, Olanna never asked about the welfare of her siblings.
Well, she had also know that Olanna under no circumstance would visit her, no matter what.
She was pounding fufu, that they were going to eat that evening, when she heard the voice of Idemilli asking her to go to a particular place, telling her, someone will come, and she will fight that person to get whatever the person hold.

She must fight the person, the battle had just begun.
Meanwhile In The Realm of the gods
Amadioha was seen, pacing around, Idemilli, beautiful as always, sitting as she stared at him.
“Why didn’t you tell all these years?” Amadioha questioned
“Am sorry my lord, I thought keeping it as a secret would calm down Ala’s anger over me and you, especially me. But I was proved wrong. I am sorry”, Idemmili replied, pleading.

“Hmm, so many things had happened in the past, but you never made mention of this. Anyway, once my real children are back from the forest of the living dead, I will speak to my lover Ala, and I hope she listen to me this time around”, Amadioha said, lightening flickers in his eyes as he longs to see his beautiful lover once again after so many centuries…

The Retelling Story of IGODO
chapter 15

Uzodinma laughed wickedly at her now dead comrades, laying at her feets. Killing them was very easy for her. She held Amadioha’s knife as she put it tightly in her wrapper throw her staff away and walk out of the cave. The fiery one had been returned back to his original state.
She quickly came out of the cave, walked a few feet away from the cave, she disappeared into thin air.
Flashback
When they had reached the ending of the path they had earlier took, they came to a dead end, thick clay wall ended the way they took.
“This is strange”, Prince Ebuka said breaking off the silence that had engulf them.

‘Let me take over you’
Agu, Ikemefuna chi said, before Ikemefuna allowed him to take over his mind, spirit and body.
“Hmm, looking closely at the wall, there seems to be a riddle written on it”, Agu said immediately as he took over walking towards the wall, pauses and stare at it a little more. “We have to answer the riddle for it to allow us a passage”.
No sooner had he saId this words , a voice spoke out.

“You have seen it, ancient one. No normal human being would have seen that there is a riddle on the wall. For me to grant you a passage, you will tell me the correct answer to the question written on the wall. You have two minutes to give me the right answer”. The voice said.
Ikemefuna drew more closer to the door to read what was written on it, he was the only one who could see the writings.
“It says,
You heard me before, Yet you hear me again,
Then I die,
‘Till you call me again.
What am I?”, Ikemefuna spoke out to the hearings of his comrades.
Everyone began thinking of an answer.
“Your time is almost up”, the voice spoke out.

“I believe the answer is ‘An echo’. Echo is the right answer”, Ikenna answered for everyone. They all waited for the spirit to tell them if Ikenna was right or wrong.
“You got the answer”, the voice spoke out. Soon the wall lifted up and they all rushed into it. They walked a few pace more before they got to another wall, blocking them from proceeding to their journey.

“What is this again? Another one?” Odum asked no one in particular.
“I sense what we seek is at the back of this wall…… it’s seems there is another riddle”. Ikemefuna told them.
A feminine voice spoke out to them. “Indeed there is, ancient one. You will have to give me the answer to the riddle before I can grant you free passage”.
Ikemefuna drew closer to the wall and read out what was written on it.
“It says, I never was, am always to be,
No one ever saw me, nor ever will
And yet I am the confidence of all
To live and breathe on this terrestrial ball” Ikemefuna breathed out “What can be the answer?” Ikemefuna asked no one in particular.
The voice spoke again “You have only a minute to say the answer”.
“Hmm, I think the answer is Tomorrow”,Ikemefuna spoke out after thinking a lot.

They all waited, hearts in their mouths as the voice spoke out again.
“Correct”. The wall gave way and they hurried in, immediately, Odum and Ikenga blow out the
substance with them as soon as they stepped in,side. The fiery one went still immediately. Ikemefuna hurried up to where the fiery one stood.
“I think this is Amadioha’s Knife” he told his comrades
“But how?” Ojadike questioned.
“I don’t know how the knife was able to be in this form”, Ikemefuna replied.
“Let us waste no time here, the seven days are up” Odum
said as he moved closer to the fiery one, he
started saying what the ball
of light had whispered to
him. The fiery one wasted no time in transforming back to the knife.

As soon as Odum took hold of the knife, he turned when he heard a loud noise, he briefly saw a bright light
moving towards him with
such a speed that Odum
didn’t have time to get off the way. The last thing he saw
before darkness came to him was when he saw all his comrades in their own pull of blood, Uzodinma walking towards him, an evil smile plastered on her face.
End of Flashback
Uzodinma appeared under a udara tree and smiled to herself.

“Hahahaha, no one can stop me. They all escaped my plans right from the beginning, but I caught them unawares. Their deaths had been so easily. I did a good job, my mother will be happy”, Uzodinma said to herself proudly.
“Well, not for long”, Nneoma voice pierced through the air as Uzodinma turned to look at who spoke.
“Who are you?” Uzodinma asked
“I am someone you don’t wish to know. And I am also someone who had always stopped your plans. Uzodinma, you had bit the hands that feed you, it is time for you to pay for all the atrocity you have committed”,
“Too late, Nneoma, daughter of Idemmili. I know your scent. Do not take me for a fool Nneoma. The knife of Amadioha is with me and I will return it to the mother of all mothers, Ala”, Uzodinma told Nneoma.

“Oh, I see. Anyway, like I said, you planned all your evil plans, but you didn’t include me. You see Uzodinma, I have always know your plan and that is why I am always one step ahead of you”.
“A step ahead of me you said? Well too late for that because I killed, Odum, Ikemefuna, Ikenga, Ikenna, Ojadike and Ebuka, so where were you when I killed them all?”
“Uzodinma, your rage for revenge had blinded you, those you had killed aren’t the real people. Like I told, I am always one step ahead of you”, Nneoma said.
“You lied, I killed them and I saw them dead with my own eyes”,
“Then look behind you and see for yourself”.
Uzodinma turned to look behind her and was greatly shocked to her bones when she saw Ikenna, Ikenga, Odum, Ikemefuna, Ojadike and Prince Ebuka coming towards her.
Where they not the ones she had killed back in the cave? What is really going one?
Uzodinma wondered as Nneoma smiled.
