Oga Emma

Oga emma episode 3

“OGA EMMA”
Episode 3
…………………………………………………………………….
Queen realised what was happening and ran after Oga Emma who had started exhibiting the characters of mad people on the sreet. As she ran, she scre-med, calling for help from neighbors and people passing by. Luckily, some of the neighbors who knew Oga Emma and his family came to help and succeeded in holding him down. They quickly bundled him back to his house and bound him on both hands and feet with ropes. While these things were happening, their children held onto their mother and cried in confusion. They didn’t understand why those people were tying their unclad father with ropes while their mother just watched.
Queen stood there watching the man she was trying to save turn into something she never imagined. As she stared, she replayed some of the events in her mind. She blamed herself for ever resorting to fetish means in rescuing her husband. She also blamed her friend, Jane for leading her to Baba. Ultimately, she blamed the side chic for putting Oga Emma in a situation where he needed saving. She was lost in thought.
The mad Oga Emma let out a loud scre-m which jolted her back into reality. She remembered she needed to do something, and fast, else her husband would be lost forever. She thought of running to her husband’s family and telling them about their son’s predicament. But she remembered she’d have to tell them what led to his madness. How she used the portion from Baba and how Oga Emma ran mad almost immediately after consuming the ‘poisoned’ food. She was left in utter confusion. It was then she realized how prayer-less she had been. She regretted ever losing her prayerful Christian background in the quest for societal frivolities. She wept. After crying and thinking for a long while, she decided to meet their parish priest for help.
Vivian didn’t see Oga Emma at his office that morning. She called his line severally but their was no response. She was getting agitated and apprehensive. She needed him to sit on the seat she had wiped with the cloth her pastor gave her. It had been long since he (Oga Emma) did that and the potency of her charm depended on it. She called again and Queen picked the call. On hearing Queen’s voice, she (Vivian) knew all was not well. The Oga Emma she had under her spell would never allow his wife to touch his phone talk more of picking his calls. She became weary. Hours turned into days and days turned into weeks, yet she had not seen Oga Emma neither had she slept with him as supposed nor knew his way about.
Then the news of Oga Emma’s predicament filtered into town. Immediately Vivian heard it, she knew it was a bad omen and decided it was time to visit her pastor. Queen on the other hand, had gone to her parish priest and narrated all she knew to him. He condemned her spiritual bankruptcy but agreed to help her in prayers. He also insisted that Oga Emma’s family must know about his predicament and that the prayers would be said collectively. After helping to harmonize things between Queen and her in-laws, they set out on a twenty one (21) days prayer March with the priest in the lead.
After three days of the prayers, the priest had a revelation in which he saw two deities fighting for supremacy over Oga Emma’s soul. In the revelation, one of the spirits claimed it will never relinquish whatever it had possessed while the other insisted that the vessel (Oga Emma) had become it’s own. After the revelation, the prayers were intensified, channelled towards neutralizing both spirits.
Vivian went to meet her pastor and seek solution for the new development. On seeing her, he (the pastor) shouted “you have failed in your mission woman. Why have you defaulted in carrying out the instructions given to you? You have failed”. Vivian was taken aback by her pastor’s outburst. She was more confused because she was yet to tell him about Oga Emma’s condition. “How did he know?”, she reasoned. While still in her thoughts, the pastor cut in. “I warned you there would be consequences”, he echoed. On hearing that, Vivian became afraid. She wondered what the consequences would be .
She started begging. “Daddy please forgive me. What should I do? I don’t want to face any consequences”, she begged. The pastor told her that his God can never share his possession with anyone. He further told her that the only way for her to be safe was making sure that Oga Emma died and whichever means she’d use to achieve that would be her decision. Ultimately, he told her that she had seven (7) days to do that, else she’d die in his place.
How would she achieve that?
