Chapter 37: THE BOOK.

Kaden and I headed to doctor Evans lab, luckily he was there. I didn’t want to act like I really cared about what is written in the book, but deep in,side of me, I desperately want to know everything that is contained in it.

Doctor Evans never sleep at night, so, its nothing surprising to see he was still awake at such time of the night.

“Your Majesty,” he bowed, “My Lady. What brings you two here at this time of the night?”

“Doc, I need your help with this.” He drops the book on the desk. “I want you to open it.”

Doctor Evans held the book in his hand, “The Magic Book. How did you find it, Sire?”

“It’s a long story. Can you open it?”

“I’ll try my best. Give me tonight, and I’ll give you a feedback by tomorrow.”

“Tomorrow.” Kaden said, looking at me. “Let’s go.” He held my hand as we exited the room.

We got to the hallway which demacated his room from mine. I turned, heading to my room. “Stop.” He said, stopping me on my track.

I stopped, turning to look at him. “I don’t want you to sleep alone anymore, I want you in my room.”

“But… doing that is against the law.” I stated.

“I don’t care about the law, I only care about us. And, I don’t give a damn about what it says either. I just don’t want you sleepwalking around the castle at the middle of the night.”

“Kaden, it’s not as if I always have the vision it all the time.” I tried to convince him.

“It doesn’t matter, I still want you in my room.” That’s always Kaden, he’s never easily convinced.

And no matter how you shape your words, it’s just not enough to change his mind.

“Fine.” I gave up, following him to his room.

We laid on his bed at the same time, our faces inches away from each other. “Are you still angry at me?” I asked.

“No, not anymore.” He answered.

“You know, we’ve never gotten the chance to talk about each other. I mean us.” I said, wishing this was actually the time to start up the conversation.

“What do you mean?” he asked, looking a bit confused.

“I mean, we’ve lived with each other for three months now, don’t you think we should get married?”

He smirked. “I was thinking you’d never ask.”

I laughed, “You were waiting for me to talk about it first?”

“Mm-hmm. “

“You have every right to go ahead without seeking my permission. Why would you want my permission first?”

“I have to. I might decide for our union when you aren’t ready yet. I need to know when you are before I can go ahead. And now you have, until then, I’ll think about the preparations.”

“What about our kids, how many do you wish to have?”

“I wish for two, a boy and a girl.”

“What if we can’t have the gender the way you wish for it?”

“We will.”

“Your’e speaking like your’e a relative to The Moon Goddess, or you… or you just talked with her few minutes ago.”

He adjusted close to my body. “I don’t have to talk to her first, I just believe in fate.”

“Oh, now see who is talking. Since I knew you, Kaden, you have never believed in fate.”

“I never did believe in fate but, after the Moon Goddess showed you to me, I saw so many reasons why I have to believe in it.”

“I’m happy I have you, Kaden, unlike that pathetic human my mother almost forced me to get married to. You know, I thought you’d never come. I mean, not as if I desperately wanted you to but, I knew you were the only one who can stop the wedding from holding.”

“How did you know I was getting married on that day?”

“I felt it from the mark. And your worries and…” he couldn’t put the words. “I could feel them all. So I knew something wasn’t right.”

“I never imagined for once that I will ever fall in love with you. You know, all the lies and hatred… I never thought of myself sleeping with you on a night like this.”

He was staring at me, like he was seriously staring deep into my eyes like he was searching for some thing in it. Was he even listening to what I was saying?

I was beginning to feel uncomfortable with it, and that’s something about him I still can’t get used to.

“What?” I asked, dodging his look.

“I’m trying to check if I can still read through your mind. And It’s still f*cking difficult for me to.”

“Maybe that’s because I am not just an ordinary woman anymore. Poor thing.”

“I can still get it if I want to.”

“Prove it.”

He grabbed my l-ips into his, rolling me on his body. I chuckled as I tried to adjust myself, with my hands resting on his chest. “Your’e trying to play naughty, right?” I tapped his nose with the tip of my first finger.

“I’m already naughty.”

He rolled up on her, dropping soft k-sses on her face and neck and l-ips. She pushed him back on bed, pressing him hærd with her hands so he won’t roll over on her. “I love you, Kad.”

“I love you more, babe.” She laid on his body and he k-ssed her head softly. “Good night.”

“Good night.” She k-ssed his l-ips, resting her head back on his chest.

“Kaden!!!” she scre-med, breathing heavily. “Noo!”

“Hey.” He held her face. “What’s wrong?” he asked, seeing her troubled face. “Another vision?”

“No, it’s not a vision. It’s just… It’s just a nightmare.”

“Why don’t we talk about it?”

She sat on the bed, sighing heavily. “It’s about you.” She started.

“What about me?” He asked.

“You died. Kaden I watched you die in my dream. I don’t know how to explain it but… it all happened so fast, I couldn’t save you, I couldn’t do anything. All I did was to stand and…” she moved her hair backward, exhaling with her mouth opened.

He touched her back, “It’s just a dream.” He tried to assure her.

“I know but… It looked more like a reality. What if it happens?”

“No, it’s never happening.”

“You don’t understand. I saw you die, I saw you bleed to death.” She started crying, Kaden pulled her in his embrace.

“No one is taking me away from you, okay? No matter what happens, just remember that I always love you.”

When the morning approached, Kaden didn’t hesitate to go to doctor Evans lab. Illiana was still asleep when he left the room. He didn’t want to disturb her and the dream she had told him of last night, although he didn’t want to show how concerned he was, he just doesn’t want to show how worried he was.

“Your Majesty,” Evans bowed in respect.

“Any positive feedback yet?” he asked.

“Yes, sir?”

“The Book wasn’t locked at the first place, it couldn’t open because you aren’t a magician.”

Kaden rolled his eyes, sighing. “So, what’s in the Book then?” he asked.

“The Prophecy.” He simply said.

“What Prophecy?” he asked.

“It holds the secret of the Pack. Not just the secret of the pack, but how to face the war of the future. Take a look at it yourself.” He said, stretching it to him.

Kaden flipped through the book, he couldn’t understand a thing from the writing. He returned it back to him. “I don’t understand what it says.”

He laughed at him, “I won’t blame you, Your Majesty. But you have to know one thing… There is only one person who can read the writings.”

“Who?”
