Payton’s POV

An Hour later Mr Jeremy Anderson who happens to be Brody’s father left after a loud battering from his son dejectedly.Mrs Anderson followed him torn between the hatred between a father an a son..

‘Talk to him.He’ll listen to you’..She whispered and I nodded…

‘So…’..My voice trailed off as i walked over to Brody’s bed..

‘I don’t want to talk about it Payton please leave me alone’..He replied crossing his arms..

‘I don’t want to talk about it also I just saw how handsome your daddy looks—He looks a lot like you —The taut l-ips and blue eyes and s€×y lanky stature’..I muttered with a coyish smile on my face and he let out a grunt…

‘Stop it Payton I look nothing like him’..

‘Ohhh yes you do Brody can’t you see?? It’s like you’re looking in a mirror but anyways…tell me about him’..i replied and this time it was his turn to sigh…

‘He was my idol Payton.I adored him cause he was so big and strong and handsome too.I wasn’t bullied in school because of him and my mom was always praised for being the wife of a handsome hunk’..He said…

‘Well he sure doesn’t look handsome now’..I sighed and he nodded..

‘My wh0le family was perfect.It was just mom,dad and I well not until Dad opened the club’..He said..

‘What happened when he opened the club??’..I asked and he propped himself up on the hospital bed…

‘He wanted a club and mom was against it.She said the family was perfect the way it was cause we were neither rich nor poor but we were happy.Dad wanted more than happiness,he wanted power,he wanted wealth,he wanted fame,he wanted to be someone important in the society and so he opened the Boom club.After a few months it was a huge success and my Dad automatically became a billionaire.We moved from our little bungalow to the mansion we live in now.Mom attended expensive Galas and I got whatever I wanted’..He explained..

‘Wow that must have been great’..I muttered affectionately taking his hands in mine and he smiled..

‘No it wasn’t Payton.My parents had the money in the world but there was only one thing that they didn’t have —Love.My family literally drifted apart.Dad wasn’t home most of the time and mom was always going to parties but she was there for me when I needed her.Very soon she was also fed up with the extravagant lifestyle and became a full time mother and housewife to me.Dad didn’t Care about us anymore and instead his focus was always on work,work,work.Mom got tired of it and every time she complained they always ended up fighting.My family was no longer the happy Andersons but instead we were the Fighting Andersons.Dad started beating mom and every time he did that she would always come to me for refuge and together we would comfort each other.Then the scandal became obvious to everyone.Dad was a cheat.Pictures were published in the news papers ‘ANDERSON AND ROSELLE??? SECRET Relationsh¡p??’.Mom was devastated and she resorted to taking drugs.So you can see i had a very painful past’..He said and I covered my mouth with my hands in sheer horror..

‘Oh my God Brody i—

‘Wait let me finish’..he cut in and I nodded..

‘Mom was the only person i had and because of him she became a monster.Her health deteriorated,she became thin,fragile and ugly.Her hair was literally falling out and she was a shadow of her own self and as for my dad??—Well he didn’t care one bit and continued with his shameless affair and that was when calamity struck.Boom club was burnt down to scrap and he lost everything —We lost everything.The cars,the house,the extravagance we lost everything.He came back to my mom begging since Rosie left him and funny enough my mom forgave him.My family was back to normal but the happiness was short lived when he left.Mom woke up only to find a note saying ‘I CAN’T DO THIS ANYMORE’.Our money,clothes,appliances and everything we owned was gone.Now tell me with a painful past like mine would you forgive him??’…

Payton’s POV

Hearing Brody say the story about his painful past really tugged at my conscience..

I mean what kind of a man would do that to his own family???…

‘You and your mom must have been through a lot but there’s one thing you should to Brody.You should move on.It’s clear you’re letting your past blur your present please you’ve got to move on’..I begged with tears in my eyes and he scoffed…

‘You don’t even a thing about feeling rejected Payton.You don’t know the feeling of knowing that your father doesn’t care for you and doesn’t give a f**k about you’..He said..

‘Ohh that’s where you’re wrong Brody.I’ve also had my share of irresponsible fathers,my dad was a drunk-A terrible one at that.He molested my mother and even at the age of seven he even gave me little scars.It’s a miracle he died due to some cardiac arrest thingy’..I replied and he frowned..

‘Stop making up stories to make me feel better Payton I don’t need it’…He growled and I shrugged..

‘I’m just trying to help you Brody you’re letting your past eat you up Brody.Please move on for my sake and let your father donate the kidney you clearly need Brody’..I begged..

‘No’..he replied bluntly..

‘Brody please don’t be like this??If you die then i won’t forgive you that’s a promise!!! If you die I won’t forgive you!!’..I scre-med but even with my tears dripping from his hands he didn’t budge…

‘Please leave my room Payton’ .He muttered under his breath…

‘But Brody?!!’..

‘Payton please leave my room’…

‘He refused Mrs Anderson’..I muttered as i plunked down on the chair next to Mrs Anderson….

‘So he refused?? Why??’..She asked and I threw Mr Anderson a haughty glare before answering…

‘He hates Mr Anderson here with passion and wouldn’t want anything from him not even his kidney’…

‘Bummer’..Mr Anderson muttered and Mrs Anderson faced him..

‘Bummer?? Is that all you have to say?!! Jeez I knew it was a mistake letting you come here in the first place cause you literally disgust me Jeremy!!!’..She cried out and started beating his chest but i held her back…

‘Uhmmm Mr Anderson can I talk to you for a moment??’..i asked and he stood up with his dusty clothes.We both left the hysterical Mrs Anderson and walked outside and when we got there I folded my arms..

‘You shouldn’t have come back sir,Brody was doing fine without you’..I muttered after a moment of silence…

‘I know girl but they’re my family’..

‘Which you left’..

‘Yeah I left them only because of I wanted to protect them!!.When the club Burned down I made some bad decisions and borrowed money from some very bad people,they threatened to kill my family young lady and I ran away to protect them’..He said and i scoffed loudly..

‘No you didn’t protect them!! You left them because you didn’t want to be caught’..

‘Yeah but i wanted to come back but I got arrested and jailed in China.I was released last week’..He said in defense..

‘You are really unbelievable sir but I want Brody to move on because of the kidney donation!! Why do you want to give it to him anyway??’..

‘Cause I’m dying’..
