Kingsley felt his heart breaking seeing her in tears because of him, he wasn’t expecting her to hear him, all he’s thinking is that she’s still in bed, sleeping peacefully but now this?
“No it’s not what you think” he said, walking closer to her, he held her face in his palms dearly
” It’s not like that Jewel it’s definitely not like that” he said
” Then what? ” Jewel said hurtfully
“I just said that to keep them shut, if I tell them you’re my girlfriend, I can’t imagine what they’ll do to you” he replied
” And you’ll allow them to do shit to me? ” She said, hiccuping slowly
” No…. Jewel..
“Why are you being a coward!, Is this how you’re gonna continue?, They’ve been feeding you with lies since you were young and you got used to it till you grew up but you met me and everything changed Kingsley!, Will you always be scared of them?, Are they some kind of god!?, Kingsley you’re not helping things!, Just man up for once! ‘ she said loudly, wiping her tears
“Jewel I’m sorry ok?, I’m so sorry, I promise to talk to them please… just.. tell me you’re not mad at me” he said, still holding her face
” I can’t think straight” she replied
“Jewel…
” Kingsley I wanna go home” she said, looking away from him
“No Jewel you can’t go home like this,you’re still so mad at me baby,…. just tell me you’ve forgiven me I beg you, look at me baby” he said, making her face him
” I love you, you’re not a b*tch, you’re the girl I dream to marry Jewel, I love you so much and I can’t do without you” he said and started k-ssing her face, wiping the last trace of tears from her face in the process
“Just say something Jewel, please say something” he said
*Blow away your fears and tell your parents about us, I need to leave” she said
” We’re still on right?, You don’t hate me right?” He said and she nodded
He hugged her afterwards and k-ssed her neck
” I love you” he said and she only nodded as they stepped out together
“I’ll drive you” he said
“No, just tell the driver to do that” she replied
” Please.. let me drive you” he said, opening the car door for her to enter
She entered slowly and he got in too
The drive to The Hales was silent cos none of them talked and when they got there, she got out of the car and never said anything to him before going in
“F*ck!, What have I done” he said, resting his head on the stirring wheel frustratedly
He drove back home to meet Veera who’s just coming back
“Big brother!!!” She said, trying to jump on him but he stopped her
“I’m not in the mood” he said
“What?, Why?” She asked
“Give me Love and Pearl’s number” he said
“Why?, Is it what I’m thinking?, You and Jewel had a clash again” Veera said
” Just give me their numbers please!” Kingsley said with urgency
Veera gave him her phone and he searched for their numbers himself, after typing them in his phone, he gave her her phone before going upstairs to his room
He paced around his room as he dialled Love’s line and when she picked, he heaved in relief
“Love” he said.
“King Kong?” She replied, recognizing his voice
” I need your help please” he replied
” Wait….you and Jewel had another fight?”Love said
” Yes, and I need you to help me talk to her, she’s hurting and I caused it with my foolishness” he replied
” What exactly happened?” Love asked and he explained to her
” I don’t blame you too much but you know any girl even me will be hurt after hearing her boyfriend call her a b*tch either he meant it it or not, you should have known how to tackle it, your parents aren’t deities, face them and tell them you fell in love” Love said
” I’ll do that but please just talk to her ok?, Make sure she doesn’t cry too, she shouldn’t cry please” Kingsley said
” I’ll do that lover boy, and calm down ok?, your voice is even shaking” Love said
” I’m just scared…I don’t want her to break up with me” he replied and Love laughed
” Break up?, My sister is not a heart breaker if you don’t give her a reason to be so…. Kingsley Brown, take a chill pill ok?, She’ll come around calm your nerves” Love said
” Ok, I’ll call you later to check on her” he replied
“Sure” Love said and he hung up
” So this is it” Veera said, entering the room
“Yes, thankfully you heard” he replied, sitting on the bed
” I was expecting this anyways but I wasn’t expecting it so fast, she has every right to be mad at you even if it’s a bit, even when Jenna calls me a b*tch during our fights, I always feel like strangling her, not to talk of you..her boyfriend…but it’s not entirely your fault too, it only means it’s time to tell our devilish parents that you’re in love” Veera said
” I’m just scared” he said
” Now this is what I hate!, Are you even a man?, Gosh I hate it when a guy behaves like a coward!, Face them!, Don’t be scared baby!” Veera said and he nodded
” I will” he said, Veera hugged him and patted him
” You’ll be fine wait!..” she said, retracting from the hug, she felt his temperature and it’s high already
” You’re so weak I can’t believe you’re running a high temperature already, if you get sick you’re dead… lover boy your witch will come around soon ok?, Don’t kill yourself and right now you need to take drugs, I don’t want you to develop fever” she said, pulling him out of the room

“I understand how you feel sissy, but try to understand him too, his parents are psychos, he can’t possibly tell them on the s₱0t” Love said
” I know” Jewel replied, sitting up on her bed
” Then why are you like this?” Love said
“Maybe she’s just naturally hurt,it hurts to hear b”*tch from Kingsley” Pearl replied
“It’s ok sissy, he’ll man up and tell his parents about it and please talk to him, the guy was shaking while talking to me, he’s damn scared about break up” Love said and Pearl smiled
” Sissy he loves you so much ok?, So please talk to that lover boy” Pearl said and Jewel nodded
” I’ll talk to him” she said and they both hugged her
*We love you” they chorused
” I love you guys” she replied, hugging them back
“So…. Pearl, what’s up with Richmond’s house these days?, Even after school you’ll always go there, Something smells fishy” Love said
“It should smell eggy too, unserious girl” Pearl smiled
” Talk please, give me gists” Love said
“I’m just Richmond’s best friend for now so…”
“Most relationsh¡p starts with being besties” Jewel said
” Whatever” Pearl replied
” But he’s handsome, Richmond is the most handsome guy in B-KAY high” Love said
” To me, Jax is more handsome” Pearl replied
” That’s just to cover up…so you can’t date Richmond?” Jewel said
” Why not?, He’s handsome, lively and fun to be with” Pearl said
“Really?” Love and Jewel chorused
” What?, You both should leave me alone” Pearl replied and left the room, hiding the blush on her cheeks
“Don’t mind her, she’s attracted already” Love said
“I know” Jewel smiled

“Wait Romina, were you born to always make Jax sad?, Why do you always hurt him?” Ronny said to Romina who’s sitting beside the kitchen counter, deep in thoughts
“I dunno” she with her palms on her cheeks
” Gosh!, You’re so judgemental and too forward for my liking, he told you he loves you, why don’t you just embrace it when you feel the same way” he said
” I never said I feel the same way” Romina said
” Look at her fooling herself, you don’t feel the same way?, The stares, what are they for?, You’re always ready to go out and spend time with him, why?, When your eyes meet during our group outings you always smile at him and why the hell do you think you responded to his k-ss when he k-ssed you!” Ronny yelled
” I still love Grady!” Rommy replied
” Oh really?, That mad personality who took your V-rginity and travelled?” Ronny said
” He’s coming back” Romina replied
” Keep deceiving yourself, all I know is that you love Jax you’re just confused….I hate indecisive girls….gosh!” Ronny said and left her
She fell back on the stool and held her forehead
“Ronny is surely a handful” she sighed.
“Jax….what should I do with you?” She asked herself and picked her phone to call but she dropped it
” No I can’t…..I might say something to hurt him again”

A supermarket**
” Ketchup” Natalie said, wanting to take it from the shelf but it’s too high despite the fact that she’s wearing heels
Artemis picked it for her and dropped it in the shopping basket
“Oppressing with tallness huh?, I’m still one of the tallest ladies in Korea” she said
” Seriously?” Artemis smiled
“Of course” she replied, nodding to support her point
“You’re so tall, very tall that you couldn’t pick ketchup from the third shelf even with heels on your legs” Artemis mocked and she hit him
” Ouch!”
“Stop height shaming me” she said
“There’s nothing like height shaming, I’ve only heard about body shaming” Artemis said
” Ok teacher” she replied, sighting mayonnaise
“I need mayonnaise, there’s only small left in the house” she said
” Wait I thought you said you hired a maid” Artemis said
” Yes but I did a rethink, Richmond is uncomfortable with maids, I don’t want to do anything to make my baby uncomfortable” she replied
” So you love him this much” Artemis said
” Yeah yeah, I love him a lot” Natalie smiled
” Go get the mayonnaise, don’t expect me to get it for you since you’re so tall” Artemis said and she rolled eyes before going to the shelf and still, it’s taller than her
She looked back and saw Artemis making jest of her
She jumped up to get it and she did but Immediately her heels landed back on the ground, she slipped and almost fell but hands grabbed her and her heart almost flew off
She breathed heavily as she opened her eyes to see Artemis smiling at her while holding her in place
“I gat you” he said and she kept mute
“He’s perfect” she thought, staring at his smiling face
“Handsome too” she smiled
Artemis got serious and his face turned wistful as he started bending to her level
“What!, What’s he doing?” Natalie wondered but when he got so close, she got the idea herself
*A….k-ss?, He’s gonna k-ss me?, He’s really… gonna..k-ss me” she thought and can feel her heart slamming, she slowly closed her eyes in anticipation and Artemis smiled
“How cute!, Sweet couple” a passing woman said
“Do it guys, I’ll cheer you up” the woman said again and Natalie quickly stood upright
” You guys are good to go, you both are compatible” the woman said again
” Let’s go” Natalie said, holding the shopping basket with an hand then she held Artemis with the other
“Shit!, That woman” she thought
“That was close” Artemis thought

The Browns, night**
Kingsley just finished speaking to Love and she told him he can call Jewel, he inhaled hærd before dialling her line and she picked immediately
There was a little bit of silence before he spoke
“I…..I love you” he said and can hear her chuckling
” I hate you” she replied
” I’m really sorry about earlier” he said
” It’s ok now, I’m over it” she replied
” Really?, You’re not mad at me anymore?” He asked
” Yes, but make it snappy..I mean, facing your parents” she said
” I will, I promise” he replied
” I love you more” she said and he smiled, touching his racing heart in his chest
” Love you more more, I thought you were gonna break up, I was damn scared, I almost developed fever” he replied
” I’m sorry but it’s forever, no break up” she said
“Better” he replied and they laughed
” Let’s go on a picnic tommorow” he said
“Really?, Where?” She asked impatiently
” Somewhere cool and somewhere solitudinous but where you can hear birds chirping and it’ll have flowers around” he said
” I love the description!, Yeah let’s go on a picnic tomorrow I’ll cook something delicious” she said
” Can’t wait to taste something cooked by you” he said
“Will you touch me again?” She asked shyly
” You want me to do that again?” He really
“Yes” she replied
“Ok baby… I’ll do more than that, just wait patiently till tomorrow” he replied
” So…. You’ll be the one to come and pick me in my house right?” She asked
” Of course witch” he replied
” I’ll be expecting you, and I wish I can k-ss you now” she replied
“Me too, I miss you, let’s do a video call” he said
” Sure” she replied and he’s about to make the call when Veera entered the room
“Mum and dad are back, they want to talk to you now” she said
” Oh, baby we’ll talk later, I need to go now” he said and hung up before following Veera out
They got downstairs and met the couple in the living room
“Sit” Kay said and Kingsley did
Veera sat too, waiting for what they’ll say
“The great news we’re talking about…” Bianca smiled
” You’re traveling to Australia tommorow” Kay said.

“What!” Kingsley and Veera chorused
” Yes, most of B-KAY companies and conglomerates are over there and as the heir, you should be getting used to them right now and that’s why you’ll be leaving for Australia tommorow morning” Kay said
” My final exams is in two weeks time what hell of a news is this!” He yelled, standing up
” You can’t say no and your final exams can wait, it’s our school so you can write it anytime, you can go to college without exams, your meetings and conferences with the workers and managements from different parts of the world has been scheduled so get ready, tomorrow morning by 8, you’re leaving for Australia” Bianca said
” I don’t want to go!” He said loudly
“You’re leaving!, The properties are all yours!, They’re what we toiled for for years and now you’re trying to pour it all away?, No.. either you like it or not you’re leaving tomorrow morning.. goodnight!” Kay said and went upstairs with Bianca
” I hate you both!, I hate both of you I hate you!” Veera scre-med at the top of her voice
Kingsley rushed upstairs and got his phone, he tried Jewel’s line but it’s off
“No, no please!” He shouted in frustration
“Her line is off, even Love and Pearl’s line are off too” Veera said behind him
He rushed downstairs and left the house but he’s surprised to see guards surrounding the house, obstructing him from leaving the house
“I need to go see someone get out of my way!” He struggled but he was overpowered and taken back in after which the door was locked
Veera kept looking at Kingsley who’s obviously hurt, he’s crying slowly already
She’s damn confused right now with no idea of what to do

Next morning at The Hales**
“Why will electricity suddenly go off?, I have a flat battery” Love said, throwing her phone on the couch
” Me too, dad you need to get it fixed” Pearl said, dropping her dead phone too
“I was supposed to have a video call with my baby last night but I couldn’t.. same problem .flat battery” Jewel said, dishing what she cooked into a food warmer in the kitchen
” Everyone’s phone is dead, Joey get a fixer before 10 please” Rosie said
” Sure my Rosie” Joey replied from the dinning
“So you’re going for a picnic with your jerk, how cute!, Can’t wait to go on picnics with my boyfriend too” Pearl said
” Me too” Love added
” You both are crazy” Jewel laughed and is about to cover the warmer when the door opened abruptly and Richmond came in, sweating and breathing heavily
“Richmond?” Jewel said
“My friend” Joey said
“Jewel be fast” Richmond breathed
” What?’ Jewel asked anxiously
” Kingsley….his flight to Australia is in ten minutes time” Richmond replied
” What!” Love and Pearl chorused
The food flask fell from Jewel and all the food poured away
“Quick!, You need to see him before he leaves” Richmond said and Jewel dashed out of the house with him
They got in the car and he drove roughly
“Please Kingsley… don’t leave me.. don’t” she thought hopefully with a pounding heart

Airport**
” Time for your flight, you need to come on board right now young master” the guards surrounding Kingsley said
” Jewel” he muttered sadly, folding his fist in sadness
“Young master” the guards said again
He kept looking back as he entered the plane till he entered fully
Minutes later, the plane took off and as it did, tears came out of his glassy eyes
Richmond’s car stopped at the airport and Jewel rushed out, one of her sneakers pulled out of her legs as a result of rush but she doesn’t care, she ran like that to the attendants with Richmond behind her
“Flight 07B-KAY4” Richmond said
“It left just now” the attendant replied and tears fell from Jewel’s eyes
“No…he didn’t go…he can’t leave me, he promised not to leave me, check again.. please check!” She said loudly
” The flight is really gone” the attendant said
Jewel went on her knees and cried more
“You said you’ll never leave me Kingsley….my baby!!!!” She scre-med in tears.
