CHAPTER 72 AND 73… 🥺

“you can’t marry him” her dad said and Kira found her heart beating faster than usual.

“Huh?? Why dad?” Kira asked as she could feel tears welling in her eyes. He was the only one she wanted to marry. And now, her dad rejected him.

“He’s a guard for Christ sake ” her dad halfly yelled and got up. Kira and her mom got up along.

“And so?” Kira asked yelling with the same intensity as he did.

“Can’t you see Kira. He’s a bodyguard. Yes.. they are paid well.. but he won’t live for long” her dad said facing her.

” Dad!! ” The tears finally felled from her eyes. ” Why would you say such a thing?”

“It’s the truth . His life is dedicated to his boss. He’s to lay his life down for his matters in life threatening situation. “. Her dad explained calmly.

” How does that affect me dad? ”

“Cause, what if he is faced with such and he has to protect his boss and gets killed. You will become a widow Kira. I can’t let you become a young widow. ” Her dad said trying to cup her cheeks but Kira shifted back in anger

” Beside, I need someone to take care of the company when I die, he won’t be able to… ”

” Ohh.. I see what’s going on. You don’t care about my happiness. You only care about your properties ” Kira said with a glare wiping her tears. I’m

” Kira.. ”

” You know what.. I don’t care if you accept him. I’ll get married to him and there’s nothing you can do about it” Kira concluded.

” You won’t marry him and that’s final” her father also said and both engaged in a glaring contest while Kira mom was in tears.

Kira heard someone cough and she turned around to see Liam standing there. Actually he heard their argument and without another word, he walked out of the house.

” Liam” Kira called out and wanted to go after him but her dad held her arm.

” Let go of me… He’s leaving…. Liam” she struggled to free herself from her father grip. For someone sick, he was still stronger than her.

“Dad…!!! He’s gone” she turned to her father and yanked her hand from his gri.

“Let him go. Beside, Tristan has apologize and want the he given a second chance and since your already engaged to him, the wedding will happen” her father announced and Kira eyes w¡dened.

” No dad. I’ll never marry Tristan, never!!” She shouted and ran up the stairs in tears.

After that day incident, Kira didn’t set her eyes on Liam again. He didn’t pick her calls nor call. She even went to his apartment but he was no where to be seen. He was avoiding her and this was shattering Kira’s heart into pieces.

She refused to eat anything. She only bathed and drank water. Her door was locked all day and night. Her mom tried to talk to her to open up but she didn’t listen. All she wanted was Liam to come to her. Her phone was charged and always beside her in anticipation of when Liam will call.

Till after 3 weeks he called. In a month from now she wilould be traveling back to America to finish her course and finally see her friends . She wanted to talk to Liam and settle things before she left. Her joy knew no bounds when she saw he was calling.

“Hello Kira” his deep voice sounded in her ears and Kira smiled as a tear drops down from her eyes.

“Hello” her voice was shaky but nevertheless, she was happy to hear his.

“Can we meet ?? We need to talk” he said and Kira felt Abit sad. She expected him to say how much he missed her . Maybe he didn’t but she did.

“I missed you” she decided to say hoping he would return it but he didn’t.

” My apartment. Seven thirty sharp” he gave her the time and place of where they should meet instead

Kira felt her heart crack but she agreed anyways. Maybe he would say it when they meet.

“Sure. When??”

“Tonight”

“Okay. I’ll be there” Kira replied and the call ended.

Kira arrived earlier than planned. She entered the apartment to find him pacing up and down.

“Your here early?” Liam said but Kira stood after locking the door without saying anything. She felt really emotional at the moment. She thought she would never see him again but here he was in front of him.

“Kira are you okay?” He asked but still Kira didn’t reply. Rather she walked to him slowly.

” We really need to talk Kira” he said as she got closer. Kira dropped her handbag on the chair and walked to him closer.

She stared at his face admiring his features while Liam looked at him wondering what she wants to do.

“I missed you… So much” she said softly while caressing his face and before he could say anything, she crashed her l-ips on his.

His eyes w¡dened. He wanted to stop her. This isn’t what he planned. She was his weakness and that’s the least thing he needed.

He was to resist her but he couldn’t and before he knew what he was doing. He k-issed her back and wrapped his hand on her waist …. And soon things turned intense as they proceeded to the bed

…… Early the next morning……
Liam woke up before Kira and he gazed at her sleepy face. She looked so calm . He tried to fight his tears threatening to fall but a drop fell and landed on Kira cheeks waking her up. He immediately cleaned his tears and got up wearing his clothes.

“Good morning. ” Kira greeted with a big smile but Liam ignored her and focus on wearing his clothes.

“Liam….are you okay?” She asked concerned. How could he ignore her so early after what they did last night???

” No am not okay. This wasn’t supposed to happen between us last night” he said yelling. He sounded upset.

” But it did” Kira said softly.

“Yes. And it was a big mistake” he yelled again. That’s it…Kira heart broke into a million pieces.

“What are you saying Liam….??a mistake??” She asked.

” Yes. A mistake. Look kira. Things won’t work out for us. Just take your dad advice and marry Tristan. We aren’t destined to be” he said lowering his voice and Kira got mad.

” How can you say that??” She got up from the bed and the duvet wrapped around her fell but she didn’t mind that she was naked. ” After everything that has happened between us. I gave you my v×rgiπity Liam…”

” And that was a big mistake too. Look
..I wasn’t interested in you from the beginning. I just wanted your money and after hearing what your dad said that day…I felt guilty and decided to tell you the truth before its too late” he explained and Kira got down from the bed and slapped him hærd across the cheek but he didn’t act like he felt it while on the other hand, Kira’s hand stung. Tears were gradually filling her eyes again.

“Why then did you sleep with me yesterday? Huh…tell me…why??” She shouted grabbing his shirt by the collar.

” I didn’t plan it yesterday. Remember,you k-issed me first. That’s your fault Kira” he said and removed her hand from his collar. Kira was stunned that she couldn’t couldn’t speak. Rather tears rolled down her cheeks.

“I advice you dress up and leave my apartment. There’s nothing between us. So forget everything and move on. Marry Tristan and build a family” he said and walked out of the apartment while Kira sunk to the fall crying.
★★END OF FLASHBACK★★

“I love him so much. I’ve never loved anyone else before. He was my first love yet he broke my heart into Pieces” Kira said and broke into tears. Mira and Anna were dumbfounded and didn’t know what else to say or do, so they tried calming her down.

“After that day…a month later…I fell sick. I thought it was just something ordinary till I went for check-up when they said I was pregnant. I couldn’t believe. They gave me a pregnancy kit to confirm. Which it did. Am carrying his child ” more tears flowed from her eyes. Mira didn’t know whether to feel angry or sad. She knew the feeling of heartbreak so she understood Kira very much.

She felt like finding out who liam was and deal with him cause that’s what Kira would do for her if she was in her shoes. But even Kira didn’t know much about it so that would be hærd.

“I’ll find you one day Liam and you will pay for the tears you caused kira” Mira vowed inwardly and comforted Kira along with Anna.

Soon Kira fell asleep while Anna and Mira watched over her before falling asleep on Kira’s bed.

★★the next morning★★
Mira go up early to prepare for work even though Anna and Kira was still sleeping. She didn’t want to wake either of them. After Bathing and dressing up, she went to the chest. The chest she had retrieve from her apartment that contains past memories.

She opened it and saw the bangle her dad had given her when she was little. Although she had little memory of it as she was still quite young then but staring at it, she was sure that it was her dad who gave her cause it was traditional. A indian bangle. Her mom told her her dad gave her to remind her of India even though she has never been there before.

Smiling, she wore it on her wrist. It was made of beads and strings.

“I wonder what you represent” she said to her self out loud before smiling. She locked the chest, grabbed her hand bag and was about to leave when Anna woke up.

“Of to work?” Anna asked and Mira nodded. Anna smiled in return as Mira walked out.

The moment she got out, she found a car parked in their front yard. She wanted to ignore it and pass but then she saw Ezekiel in the car.

“Kiel” she muttered in surprise and he rolled down the window.

“Get in Mira” he shouted and Mira walked to the passenger seat.

“Good morning” she first said as she fastened on her seatbelt.

“Good morning” he replied with a smile.

That smile made mira hert skip a beat but she didn’t show any emotion on her face. Actually, she was still upset about Kira.

“You okay?” He asked sounding concerned and Mira nodded.

” Am fine”, she replied.

“You seem so quiet today” he asked facing the road properly.

” Are you trying to say am always noisy?” Mira asked facing him.

He chuckled. “Nope but you ain’t quiet either”

“Whatever” she rolled her eyes and folded her arms .

“I would like us to hang out today. In the evening” Ezekiel said after moments of silence

“Hang out? Where?” She asked raising her brows.

“Anywhere. Maybe dinner” he said with a shrug.

“Oh…I don’t know if I can ” Mira said and Ezekiel hand tightened on the steering wheel. He was hoping she won’t reject him.

Meanwhile, Mira thought about it. She wanted to stay back and take care of Kira as she was going through a tough time but then, Ezekiel asked her out. Do you know how long she has been waiting for this moment? She couldn’t just let it pass by. What if he never ask her again?

She weighed the cons and pros in her mind before finally speaking up again.

“On a second thought, I’ll think I will fine with you Kiel. But we have to be back early okay?” She said sternly and Ezekiel laughed.

” Sure. Anything for you” he replied and Mira blushed.

They finally arrived at the office and Mira got down but Ezekiel didn’t drive in.

“You ain’t coming in?” She asked from the window.

“No. I have something to attend to. I’ll come later on” he explained and she nodded before waving at him as he drove off.

She walked back to the office. She came a bit late though that didn’t matter.

“Second day at work and you tardy” Layla teased behind her but she ignored it and went to the elevator taking her to the fifth floor.

She went to her desk, said a small prayer and began cross-checking the files onher desk.

Just then, the office telephone rang and she got up to pick it.

“To my office miss levenson now” she heard damien voice and she was surprised.

He came earlier than her today. God, she hoped he wouldn’t shout at her for being late.

“Good morning sir” she greeted as soon as she entered the office but he ignored her

“You are late” he said not looking away from the laptop in front of him.

“Am sorry sir..”

“Keep it” he interrupted. ” Where are the files?” He asked

“I’ll get them” Mira rushed out immediately and got the documents but they were big and heavy but she carried it anyway.

She managed to open the door of his office but her bangle got stuck in the door handle in the process.she wasn’t aware and after walking Abit,the bangle snappped and the beads rolled on the floor going in different directions.

“My Bangles” Mira cried out . Damien looked up from the screen and saw her struggling to get to his desk and drop the bangle. He got up to help her but Mira stepped on some beads making her loose balance and all the documents fell and she was falling too when damine caught her by the waist. She held him so tightly the her fingers removed all the buttons on his shirt. She quickly grabbed his collar as her eyes were shut tight.

When she didn’t feel any pains, she opened her eyes slowly to find a pair of sparkling brown eyes staring at her.

Then damien got back his senses and let go of her waist Making her land on the floor harshly.

“Ouch…” She exclaimed in pain. She managed to get up and rubbed her butt which was in pain. She glared at damien while he wasn’t looking.

“Look what you did miss clumsy” he yelled taking a look at his office. Mira did the same and glanced around. All the documents scattered on the floor.

“Not again” she gr-0aned inwardly. She turned to face Damien seeing him glared at her. His shirt was completely ruined. She scanned her eyes on his chest before her gaze landed on his tummy and she gasped.

“Who did this to you?” She asked dramatically staring at the hug scar on his tummy.

“You did this to me” he hissed

“Huh?? Me?? How??”
