Prologue….

Pamela got mistreated by her husband Simon..
Pamela has a friend Pempem who is like a brother to her. She was pregnant when Simon almost made her loss her baby.

Pamela gave birth to identical twins but she was told one of the twins couldn’t make it.. that’s not the whole story. There’s a story behind Pamela’s dead twins.

She couldn’t ba-re Simon’s mistreatment so she ran away with her children Jeffrey and Joanna.

Jeffrey is Pamela’s first child.

Life had it h@rd on Pamela when she ran away but she was happy because she was no longer living with that monster of a husband Simon..

Pamela… Pamela ! Someone shouted from outside as he ran into the building.

Pempem what is it? Pamela asked catching her breath from the shock.

Pamela i think Simon wouldn’t be coming home early today. I heard him tell one of my customers. Pempem said excitedly

OK but you sound excited about it… Pamela said jovially

Of course now we can make your hair before he gets back… Hurry we should go make your hair. Pempem said swiftly and Pamela quic-kly went out with him and locked the door. They headed for Pempem’s salon.

“Simon doesn’t allow Pamela make her hair or get new clothes or even look like a human being.. she’s so unkept and all messed up like she committed a hvge crime in her past life”

Pamela made her hair and c@m£ back in the evening with the thought that Simon isn’t going to be back anytime soon but luck wasn’t on her side. She saw Simon at the door glaring at her with a furious eyes, Pamela bec@m£ very scared because she knows what that evening is gonna end up like… She would get beaten up black and blue just because she went out.

How i wish Pempem c@m£ along with me.. i muttered in my mind nervously

Pamela! Simon s¢ræmed at the t©p of his voice,i could feel his fuming right in,side my unborn baby… Simon shouldn’t do anything hurtful to my baby..

Simon am sorry … I said in a shaky voice nervously and he bounced on me, punching me like a punching bag… I s¢ræmed and cried but no one c@m£ to my rescue.. My only hope that moment was Pempem but before I could know it my water broke and immense pain gr!pp£dme…

Simon plea-se take me to the hospital.. the baby is on the way.. i winced but he turned deaf ears as he continued punching me and i heard Pempem yell from behind before I could get hold of myself everything bec@m£ blurry and dark….

I opened my eyes and saw nurses around me with Pempem..
Pempem being a very close friend of mine really meant alot to me..

Pempem where are my? I asked looking around and the pain in my abd0m£n continued

Nurse plea-se take her to the delivery room… She’s in so much pain. Pempem said anxiously.

Ahhhh! I shouted in pain and the nurses moved me to the delivery room.

It’s time for her delivery. One of the nurses said alerting the doctor.

I was p@n-ting around the hall way waiting impatiently for the doctor to come give me an upd@t£ at the waiting room..

Excuse me are you the patient Pamela’s relative? One of the nurses asked

Yes… I hope there’s no problem? How’s Pamela and the baby? I asked nervously

She’s fine and one of the babies is fine. She said

One of the babies… Are you trying to say they’re two? I asked curiously smiling

Yes.. we’re having a little difficulty with the other baby but we will wait till five minutes,if the baby doesn’t show any sign of coming out. We’ve to operate on her so you nee-d to go sign some do¢v-ments. The nurse said

We don’t have that much money for an operation.. i pray you deliver safely. I muttered in my mind.

Some minutes later the doctor c@m£ to the waiting room.

Are you Pamela Remirez relative? He asked looking at his file.

Yes doc. I said anxiously

OK… Pamela Remirez have been transferred to the ward but am sorry we lost the other twin. He said politely and left.

I know Pamela will be in a distress right. I said and rushed to the ward.

My baby am sorry i didn’t give you the best treatment.. i wished to but your father never allows me to go out… Am so sorry. I said crying heavily as i k!$$£d my died baby. Pempem rushed in.

Pamela am sorry for you loss.. the doctor told me alre-ady. Pempem said sadly

Ma’am It’s time for me to take the corpse to the seminary. The nurse said and i k!$$£d my baby for the last time then handed the baby to the nurse.

Why does this have to happen to you…. You haven’t even been to this world and you’re gone alre-ady.. i cried out as i watched the nurse go out.

It’s OK Pamela.. everything happens for a reason so It’s OK. Pempem consoled

Baby… Am your godmother and your godfather.. my name is Pempem. Pempem said smiling as he carried her on his arms.

Pempem where’s Simon? I asked still sobbing

I called him but a lady picked the call and she said Simon is busy. Pamela won’t you move to my place because am very sure Simon won’t spare our little princess when she grows up… Is that the kind of life you want for your children. Pempem said seriously

Simon will never set his eyes on my daughter neither would he ever see Jeffrey again. I said seriously as i wiped off my tears.

That sounds more like you… You’ve had enough of that bastard husband of yours. He cursed.

What would be my goddaughter’s name? Pempem asked smiling

Joanna Remirez. Pamela said seriously with a smile.

Wowwww look how she’s smiling. She really loves her name. I said smiling as we both stared at Joan.

Simon was the reason i lost my baby ever since he c@m£ into my life,my life turned into a living hell,a total mess. He succeeded in turning me into a trash,a doormat but i would never let him do same to my Joanna. Pamela said seriously

But Pamela, you know you can’t make that decision while you’re still here in the prophinnes.. Simon will look for you.. i uttered

Yes Pempem, we’re moving to Manila.. Pamela said

I think moving to Manila is a great idea and we wouldn’t have a problem with that because I’ve lots of friends there in Manila. I’ve been waiting so patiently for you to make this decision so have made some savings. I said

But Pempem you can’t just give me all your savings or even come with me,what about your business here? Pamela asked with a frown.

Bestie… What business are you talking about.. do you think Simon would spare me after he finds out you’ve gone missing.. there’s no way you’re leaving me behind,am relocating to Manila with you and that’s final. I said and she hvgged me.

Pempem what would i do without you.. but how are we supposed to survive in Manila? She asked

Don’t worry when we get to Manila i will reopen my beauty salon there. I said

Maybe i would start my baking business then supply to companies and shops. She said smiling

Pamela i can’t wait to go to Manila,that’s our future hope. Joan you will love it in Manila. Joan you have a very lovely brother who loves you so much. I said smiling

We spent the night at the hospital..
Next morning Pamela and i rushed to her house to get her things with Jeffrey’s. We left Joanna at my place in Jeffrey’s care.

**** PAMELA *****

Pempem plea-se take out Jeffrey’s clothes from the wardrobe.. his bag is there as well. I said and continued packing my things and throwing them into my bag when something fell out from my things and i checked it,it was a drawing of me, Simon, Jeffrey and Joanna. Jeffrey drew it. I stared at it for awhile and realized a drop of tear roll down my cheeks and i wiped it off.

Pamela be fast… Simon will be here soon and am done packing Jeffrey’s things. Pempem said.

Am done Pempem.. let’s go. I said and looked around for the last time as tears roll down my cheeks and Pempem noticed

Simon doesn’t deserve your tears… You shouldn’t cry for that monster of a husband anymore, we’re getting back your freedom.. you’re doing this for your kids and there future and It’s for the best. Pempem said then i wiped off my tears and we left immediately.

**** JEFFREY ****

Joanna,am Jeffrey your elder brother and am six years old. Pempem told me we’re moving to Manila and am so happy i hope you will love Manila. If you’re scared don’t worry because i will always protect you and momma.. i will teach you how to be strong. Pempem told me father isn’t coming with us. Joan can i tell you a secret..

Am so happy father isn’t coming with us. You won’t miss father a bit as long as am here with you. I once drew a picture of father, momma,you and me but am changing the picture.. From now onwards It’s just momma,you and me just the three of us. I said smiling as i ca-ressed Joan’s cheek in her cruddle

Few minutes later Pempem and momma c@m£ back then we all went to the bus st©p and Pempem bought our tickets.. we entered the next bus going to Manila.
Pempem carried Joan and i sat next to momma. I saw her staring at the picture.

Momma are you sad? I asked then i wiped off the tears in her cheeks.

No Jeff,am happy because we will begin a new chapter of our lives. Momma said smiling and i took the picture I drew and threw it throu-gh the window.

Momma look at the new picture I drew of our family. I said smiling showing it to her.

Oh Jeffrey… You’re so sweet. Momma said and gave me a ti-ght hvg.

Simon what were you doing with the boss’s girlfriend. I muttered in my mind…
I was on my way going home… I usually take the bus st©p way when a paper stamped on my face. I re-moved it and it was the picture Jeffrey drew of me, Pamela, himself and the unborn baby..

FB”….. Father… Momma look at the pictures, I drew of our family.
Jeffrey you should be re-ading your books not drawing family nons-en-se.. is that the reason you were s£nt to school.. I shouted and he boost into tears.. FB ends.

But how did the picture Jeffrey drew come here.. i uttered out

I hope that stupid Pamela has prepared something for me to eat when I get home else she’s gonna regret been born and where on earth did she spend the night,she’s gonna explain that to me as well. I muttered in my mind furiously.

Our bus just arrived in Manila.

Pempem are we in Manila? Jeffrey asked excitedly

Pempem where are we heading now? Pamela asked looking around wiping off the sweat on her forehead.

Don’t worry Pamela.. I called one of my friends,she’s coming to pick us to our new home. I said

New home. Pamela repeated staring at me in surprise

Yeah, i called her when we were in the prophinnes and told her to plea-se @ssist me in getting a new place that we’re relocating to Manila so she paid the rent for us but i would be paying her back in three months time. I said smiling

But Pempem where are you going to get the money to pay her back in three months time? Pamela asked curiously

Pamela i told you i will reopen my beauty salon here. And don’t worry i took care of that. I added and my phone started ringing.

Hello… OK.. i can see you from afar.. look am waving at you. I said and hung up.

When i got home the door wasn’t locked but i remember locking it or maybe Pamela is in,side.

Pamela get me my breakfast. I shouted but there wasn’t any response so I went upstairs and to my surprise her things was no longer in our room same with Jeffrey’s.

Finally,she left. Am so happy.. i now have the house all to myself.. no more annoying faces,am so happy. But wait a minute how dare Pamela run away from me like that.. she doesn’t deserve to even breathe behind my back how dare she run away with my children. ! I yelled as i Don’t forget to like and comment…
