Nana slept off on his chest like a baby. Dwayne began stroking her hair slowly.

Inky climbed the bed with them, and he smiled when the dog licked his face.

“You like me?, I’m your owner’s boyfriend” he said, and Inky licked his face again.

He placed her beside him with his second hand, then he started stroking it’s head too, smiling warmly.

“You’re just as cool as your owner” he said.

He looked at Nana’s sleepy face and went sad when he saw the traces of tears on her face.

“She must have cried so much, I hate myself for coming late” he muttered and wiped the traces of tears, then he kissed her forehead.

“I love you” he whispered.

JKR RESTURANT~9PM

Jisoo ran out of ingredients early today cos her supplier disappointed, so sales ended by some minutes to 9pm.

She has been sitting in the middle of the restaurant since then, drinking from a bottle of beer.

Rona finished doing the dishes with Aura before joining her.

“I’ll get going” Aura said, coming out of the locker room

“Extend my greetings to Shane” Jisoo said.

“Sure, bye ma’am!” Aura replied and left.

Rona poured herself a cup of beer which she gulped at once.

“If you get drunk, you’re dead” Jisoo glared.

“Trust me mum” Rona winked, pouring another cup.

She was about to drink when Jisoo talked again.

“You don’t have a boyfriend?” She asked, and Rona spilled the drink.

“Eomma!” She shouted.

“What?, I only asked a question, you’re old enough to get married or you think you’ll stay with I and your father forever?” Jisoo replied.

“I dunno” Rona replied, finally drinking.

“You’re pretty, curvy and kind, what else do you need to seduce a man?” Jisoo said.

“Let’s talk about Nana instead, are you gonna continue ignoring her?” Rona replied.

“I just feel bad for poor Shane, heartbreak is venomous” Jisoo said.

“I know, but it happened already. Not speaking to her won’t make her go back to Shane, and we both know she’s dating Dwayne already, she made amends”

“I won’t support their relationship no matter what” Jisoo replied.

“Eomma…

“I don’t just like that guy, don’t you get it?, Your boss is a better human than him. Even his mum hates him so tell me why I should want someone like him for my daughter” Jisoo interrupted.

Rona sighed and drank another cup, then her phone dinged.

It’s a message from Richard.

★GOODNIGHT★

“What the hell!” She gasped, falling from her chair.

“What happened?” Jisoo blinked.

“An hen just produced black eggs” she replied.

SHANE’S PLACE

Maxine is hooked with a lot of interview these days, then night schedules, so she’s always home late.

It’s only Shane at home when Aura came in. He’s asleep on the couch.

She walked slowly to him and squatted beside the couch, then she dropped her bag on the ground and touched his face gently.

She started from his brows, and she smiled lightly, remembering when she saved him from the thugs that night.

She always found all guys irritating and full of foul plays, till she met him that night.

It’s the first time she fell for someone, and it seems impossible.

It’s killing her badly, especially the fact that she sees him everyday.

It’s mad, that he’s dying for another girl when she’s right here beside him

It hurts.

She caressed his cheeks and sighed as her eyes landed on his lips.

“I love you so much, Shane Warren” she whispered and leaned in slowly.

In another minute, her lips landed on his, and tears slipped out of her eyes as she stood still.

For two minutes, she stayed on his lips, and when she finally opened her eyes, she was shocked to see his eyes are open.

She broke the kiss and fell on her butt.

“Shane…I…

“Would you feel better if you kiss me again?” He asked, and she blinked.

“Huh?”

“If it makes you feel better, then kiss me again, one more time” he replied.

She continued standing there, staring at him.

Shane gave up and stood, then he started walking in.

Aura spranged up and pulled him back, slamming her lips on his own so hard.

Tears came out of his eyes too.

As they kissed, Aura’s phone rang on the ground.

Rudy is on the screen.

ALEX’S PLACE

Maxine dropped the money bag with her on the table in front of Alex, and he smiled.

“Good girl”

He actually called to ask for another cash.

She started walking out without saying a thing, and Alex stood.

“Pick when I call!” He shouted.

She finally left completely, and Honey came out of her hiding place.

“So this is what you’ve been doing, making it hard for you to release the video” she said, folding her arms.

“This is only the second bag” he replied.

“I’ll give you all the money you’ll ever get from her, just post the video in time” she said, and he grinned.

“Wait…I don’t get, why are you so obsessed with bringing her down?”

“You don’t get it?” She muttered, coming to stand in front of him.

“I hate when poor people rise than me, her name is everywhere and I can’t stand it. I hate her more than you can imagine. She had always had what I lacked” she said, and he smiled devilishly.

“What’s happening tonight?”

“F**k” Honey replied, and she immediately kissed him hard.

It only took few minutes before her moans rented the apartment.

Maxine felt the tightness again as she drove away from Alex’s house, but she quickly stopped the car this time.

She rushed out, holding her chest as she leaned on the car.

“SmokyMax!” The same voice as before called, and she turned to see Rome, coming her way.

She stood straight, trying to conceal her pains.

“Wait…are you a stalker?” She asked, and he smiled.

“I just love touring this road at night, I live in this street” he replied.

“I see”

“What about you?, Your boyfriend lives here?” He asked, and she sighed before looking at him.

“Care for dinner?”

TEN MINUTES LATER

Maxine and Rome sat face to face in a private resturant, and while Rome ate, Maxine watched him.

He suddenly stopped and looked at her.

“Not hungry?”

“Keep eating, watching you eat is an entertainment” she replied, and he dropped his fork.

“Why didn’t you wait for test in the hospital the other time?”

“I told you I know what’s wrong with me” she replied.

“What?” He asked, and she turned her face away.

“I understand if you don’t want to tell” he said and made to drink water.

“I’m in the last stage of cirrhosis” she said, and the cup fell from him

“What!” His eyes widened in horror.

Tears steamed down Maxine’s face immediately.

“I saw the symptoms late last year, but it didn’t persist for long. It stopped in the beginning of this year, so I thought it’s ok, but it started again two months ago, and that’s when I went for the test. It was already too late to get a liver transplant, and I can’t even tell anyone that I’m dying. You’re the first person I told” she cried slowly, and Rome swallowed hard before standing.

He walked to her and pulled her head to his chest, hugging her gently.

He patted her back slowly as he did.

“Don’t tell anyone, please” she sniffed, and Rome fought back his tears.

THE MILLERS

Mary was parading her room, so deep in thoughts.

Tommorow is Friday, meaning she has one week left out of the two weeks ultimatum, and she still hasn’t gathered the courage to tell Dwayne.

The worse is that she heard about his relationship with Nana from Bianca.

How is she supposed to convince his son who fell in love for the first time in history to leave the girl and date another just to clear a debt???

He hates him just like she does, so it’s the hardest situation ever.

She sat on her bed and buried her face in her palms.

WINDSOR CASTLE

Mr Windsor was deep in thoughts too as he paced around his big room, sighing heavily from time to time.

The fact is that he started having an affair with Suzanne even before he met his wife… Fiona.

Suzanne was a well-known model, so he planned to marry her for fame since he’s obsessed with it, but when she got pregnant with Shane and Aura out of wedlock, he set eyes on Fiona.

He fell in love with Fiona at first sight and was determined to marry her.

Being a sucker for richness, Fiona didn’t think twice before accepting, and that led to their wedding after three months of dating.

She was already pregnant with Honey even before their wedding, and when Suzanne heard about the wedding, she was so hurt and decided not to have anything to do with him anymore.

She gave birth to Aura and Shane after nine months, and Fiona gave birth to Honey the month after.

Suzanne dropped Aura for him immediately she clocked two years, and she kept Shane.

They stayed apart for two years, till fate made them meet again one night.

Suzanne couldn’t deny her undying love for him, and that’s why she couldn’t avoid him, and that led to a one night stand.

That nightstand is Maxine, and she didn’t even tell him about it till she put to bed.

She gave birth to Maxine, and three years later, she was framed for poisoning her rival, obviously done by Fiona.

She committed suicide and died.

Treating Aura like an outcast was all Fiona’s idea, and he hasn’t been able to turn her down for once, maybe cos of love.

Now that Aura is gone, he feels bad, and seeing Maxine with Honey as friends hurts him when he knows well that they’re half-sisters.

Seeing Aura with Shane as friends is hard too when he knows they’re twins.

He sat on his bed and wiped the tears that fell from his eyes.

He regrets everything, and what’s left now is making amends, but even that seems impossible with Fiona around.

“What should I do?” He muttered.

THE KIM’S~10PM

“Nana are you in? Nana!” Rona banged at her door, and that woke them.

Dwayne actually slept off too.

“Eonni?” Nana spranged up, and Dwayne got down from the bed.

He picked the nylon containing the things he bought on the ground, dropping it on the bed.

“All for you, please be fine” he said, and she hugged him.

“I’ll call you on video”

“I’ll be expecting” she replied, giving him a peck on the lips.

They disengaged, and he jumped down the window.

She opened the door, and Rona came in.

“Hmmn!, I smell Dwayne!” She inhaled the air, and when she saw the nylon on the bed, she went for it but Nana was faster.

She grabbed it to her chest.

“It’s all mine!, I’m never gon’ share!”

“Aww!, Love in Tokyo!” Rona teased.

“Whatever” Nana blushed.

NEXT DAY~WSU

“Next week is the texts week, I’m so scared!” CeCe said, holding her chest as she walked out of the class with the girls.

“It’s what we’ve been taught, stop being extra” Bianca reply.

“You won’t understand since you’re brilliant” CeCe pouted, and Nana laughed with Bianca.

Carmen’s face is glued to her phone, checking for any message from Dean, but there’s none

“Babe, are you ok?” Nana asked.

“Need to use the restroom” Carmen replied and covered her face as she rushed off.

“She’s crying!” Nana gasped.

“She does that everyday since Dean did that, poor Carmen” CeCe said pitifully.

“Let’s go meet her” Bianca suggested, and they left at once.

Martin was walking the hallway when he sighted Stanley coming out of the computer lab with Rudy and Dwayne.

He rushed to him and grabbed his hand.

“We need to talk” he said, taking him away.

“Aww!, How cute!” Rudy said cutely.

“I haven’t heard from Rome, is he in Washington?” Dwayne asked.

“Of course, he’s resuming next semester” Rudy replied, checking his phone.

“Why is Aura not picking my calls” he muttered.

“Guess you got rejected even without wooing her” Dwayne laughed.

“Shut up!” Rudy replied, but Dwayne only laughed harder

“Hey, are you serious about the competition?, You won’t go?” Rudy said.

“Let’s go grab lunch” Dwayne changed topic, walking away.

“Wait for me jerk!” Rudy ran after him.

AN EMPTY CLASS

Martin hugged Stanley immediately he pulled him in, and Stanley sighed without hugging him back.

“Martin..

“I’m sorry, I swear I reflected on myself already, and it’ll never happen ever again, Stan please…” Martin begged.

“I’m sorry too” Stanley replied, and Martin looked at him slowly.

“Why?’

“For snubbing you, I’m sorry” Stanley said.

“I deserve it” Martin replied, and Stanley smiled before hugging him tightly.

“I missed you”

“Let’s kiss” Martin replied, and Stanley broke the hug immediately.

“Will you come to my place tonight?” He asked in a mutter.

“Yeah, I will” Martin replied with a handsome smile

“I love you, Martin” Stanley said.

“I love you, Stan” Martin replied and immediately kissed him hard.

EVEREST BANK

Mary came out with Rona, ready to go for lunch.

“What should we eat this afternoon?” Rona asked.

“Cheogukkja” Mary replied.

“You pronounced it perfectly!, I’m proud of you Mrs Miller!” Rona said dramatically, and Mary smiled dryly.

“Are you ok?’ Rona suddenly asked.

“Why?”

“Your smiles have been insincere” Rona replied.

Mary was about to talk when Daniel came out.

“I’ll join you guys” he smiled.

“No qualms” Rona smiled.

They were about to enter Mary’s car when Richard came out too.

“I’m going too!” He announced, and Rona blinked.

Now his weirdness is alarming.

She still hasn’t gotten over the message he sent last night, and now this??

“You hate poor resturants, right?, We’re going there to eat 20 dollars meal” she said.

“I don’t care” Richard replied.

“What!” Rona and Daniel chorused.

“Let’s go, drive with me” Richard smiled, pulling Rona to his car.

“Y’all should go on, I have to go somewhere” Mary said.

WSU~CAFETERIA

“Honey has been silent these days” CeCe said as the girls ate on the table.

“The calm before a storm. Why do I feel like she’s scheming something” Carmen replied.

“Whatever she’s planning, I don’t care” Nana replied.

“Dwayne Miller’s baby!” They hailed, and she began blushing.

“What…” She said, biting her lip

“Is my brother nice to you?, I know he is” Bianca said.

“The best boyfriend ever” Nana replied.

“Awww!!!” They chorused again, and Nana laughed.

“Guys, I’m planning to ask Rudy out tommorow” Bianca said, and CeCe choked on her food

“What!” Carmen said shockingly.

“Can you handle it if he turns you down?” Nana asked.

“Let’s see” Bianca replied.

“Need to use the restroom” CeCe said and walked out.

Carmen sighed, understanding what’s going on.

Nana’s phone rang. It’s an unknown line.

She left the noisy cafeteria to go pick..

“Hello?”

“It’s Mary Miller on the line, can you meet me at the Starbucks not far from your school?” Mary’s voice asked.

“Starbucks?”

“Yes, I’ll be expecting you” she replied, hanging up.

Nana rushed out of the hallway immediately.

Unknown to her, Dwayne had been watching from behind.

He was actually waiting for the call to end so he’d hug her, but she took off immediately.

“Where’s she going?” He muttered.

STARBUCKS

Nana got there and met Mary waiting in front of the largest one.

He pulled her in, and they sat facing each other.

“Is everything ok?, Mrs Miller?” Nana smiled.

“I don’t think so” Mary replied.

“Huh?, Why?” Nana blinked, and Mary held her hands on the table.

Nana blinked again.

“Can you please…break up with Dwayne?” She said.

“What!” Nana quickly took her hands from her.

“Please… just cut all connections with him and…

“I don’t want to” Nana interrupted, standing up.

“Nana…

“I love him madly, I mean madly!, You want me to go crazy?, No I won’t” Nana said.

“I’m ordering you as his mother!” Mary snapped.

“You’ve never treated him like your son!” Nana shouted back.

Mary held her shoulders and held eyes with her, crying already.

“Please Nana, help me and…

That was interrupted when Dwayne came in and pushed Mary away from her.

Mary fell on the chair, and he interlocked his fingers with Nana’s.

“Baby” Nana whispered.

Dwayne faced Mary angrily.

“You aren’t ready to give me happiness, but you wanna take my happiness away from me?” He muttered.

“Dwayne I can explain” Mary stood tearfully.

“Even if it costs my life, I’ll forever be in love with this girl. She’s the air I breathe!, Do you know how crazy it feels when I don’t see her for a minute?, Do you?, I feel like dying if I don’t kiss her for an hour, It’s hellish any night we sleep apart, she’s my life!” He shouted.

Nana’s eyes widened as she stared at him, and more tears fell from Mary’s eyes.

“I wanna marry her, for real” Dwayne whispered.
