WILLOW MANSION ~ VALERIE HOME

“I know you aren’t Valerie cause Valerie is still missing” Carmen said clutching Valerie Diary in her hand.

“If you knew that I wasn’t Valerie then why did you pretend not to know, why didn’t you say anything to Valerie’s mom?” Chloe asked.

“That’s because….that’s because I….I thought you were her at first but later I realized that you aren’t her and the reason why I kept shut is for Valerie’s sake” Carmen replied.

“For Valerie sake? Do you perhaps know where Valerie is? If you do then you ask her to come back so I….”

“Valerie isn’t coming back!” Carmen half yelled cutting her off abruptly.

“Why isn’t she coming back? What really happened to Valerie, it has to do with what she wrote in her Diary right?” Chloe demanded and slowly Carmen nodded.

“Valerie can’t come back home cause she’s dead” Carmen revealed and that got Chloe sitting back on the bed again due to the shock.

“But how did that happen? How come she’s dead?” Chloe asked even as tears filled her eyes for the loss of a girl she never knew.

“If you read her diary then you must know that her life was being threatened before she disappeared two months ago. Valerie had kept it to herself, she hardly talk about things that bothers her and try to handle it on her own but then I found out and that was because I happen to read her message”

“Apart from being the house keeper of the house, I was pretty close to Valerie. She’s the first person who ever treated me like an equal and that’s why I grew fond of her. I loved her like the child I never had and when she got those death messages, I tried to convince her to tell her parents about it but she refuse saying she will be put in more danger and so I decided to do some thing about it” Carmen let out a sigh before continuing her explanation.

“I told her parents, her mom to be precise but she just brushed it off saying it might be a joke and that led to Valerie getting another message, it was much scarier and that was when she decided to leave. I convinced her in going to stay at my sister’s place and she agreed to it but then Valerie never got to my sister that day and I received this message from her” Carmen said wiping her tears before pulling out her phone to show Chloe the last message Valerie sent to her.

★ AM SORRY CARMEN BUT I CAN’T GO TO YOUR SISTER, IT MIGHT BE DANGEROUS FOR HER IF I STAY THERE AND BY THE TIME YOU GET TO READ THIS MESSAGE, I WILL BE LONG GONE. DON’T TRY TO LOOK FOR ME SINCE THIS WILL BE THE LAST MESSAGE I SEND TO YOU. I DIDN’T WANT THINGS TO END THIS WAY, I DIDN’T KNOW THAT TODAY WILL BE MY LAST DAY ON EARTH BUT THEN LIFE IS JUST SO CRUEL ★

Chloe read the message which got her feeling more sad.

“That was the last message Valerie sent to me and it was also the last time I saw her” Carmen said bursting in tears that Chloe had to get up to give her a comforting hug.

It was a while later that Carmen calm down.

“Do you perhaps know who is responsible for Valerie’s death?” Chloe asked.

“I don’t but then Valerie had lot of enemies, including one living in this house” Carmen let out angrily referring to Stephanie.

“She mentioned in her Diary that the person who keeps sending her that text is someone from her class” Chloe said remembering a part she read from the book.

“Yes after all the students in her class are filled with ones who hates her and even though have been doing my investigation on them, I still haven’t figured out who amongst them sent Valerie the message” Carmen told her.

“You’ve been doing your …..”

“Val dearest!” On hearing Brenda Willow voice, Carmen quickly took hold of her hand.

“Please don’t say a thing to her” Carmen urged.

“But she should about her daughter’s….”

“She can’t know! She’s also a suspect, so don’t tell her a thing until I get to know who harm Valerie, promise me!” Carmen demanded and Chloe nodded.

“Tell me, how did you figure out that am not Valerie?” Chloe asked.

“There was a time when Valerie returned home, injured on her shoulder after being bullied. It left a scar and you don’t have that scar” Carmen managed to say before the door open revealing Brenda Willow.

“I thought you were asleep” She said starring at Chloe then to Carmen.

“I was just talking to Carmen but am done now. What do you need, mom” Chloe called knowing it would take a lot of effort to pretend to be Valerie.

“Just wanted to take you out on a shopping spree, get whatever you need and let’s leave” Brenda told her even as Carmen excused herself and left the two alone.

And all through the way to the mall, Chloe wondered what Carmen meant by Brenda being a suspect to her daughter’s death.

NEXT DAY ~ M&M ACADEMY

“Right Valerie? Val , are you listening?” Pearl question brought Chloe down to earth.

“Am sorry, I wasn’t listening” Valerie admitted.

They had had a hectic day during class and were now lunching in the cafeteria.

“You’ve been lost in thought all day, is some thing bothering you?” Judy asked sipping her juice.

“Am just thinking about my life, they are some parts which no matter how hard I try can’t seem to remember, can you guys fill me in on it?” Chloe asked wanting to know some things.

“Of course, where do you want us to start from?” Mira asked just as the female students began screaming out at the arrival of some students.

Chloe took a look too but let out a sigh when she saw that it was Bryan and accompanying was two handsome dude.

The three had this bad boy look which made them even sexier and apart from every girl in the room including her three friends were all gawking at him.

She watch them make way to the counter and though they was a queue, they made way for them and let them ordered first.

“Such a show off” she murmured even as she turn back to her friends who were still oggling the boys.

“Come back to earth girls!” Chloe said hitting her spoon on the table.

“Sorry, we were just so caught up with their handsome look ” Pearl apologised.

“Which of them do you like exactly?” Chloe asked pearl who shied away from answering.

“Fine then, let’s start with those trio. Tell me all I need to know about them” Chloe said.

“Bryan, Luke and David are the three hotties in school well apart from Leo which I will tell you more on. Luke is the son of a rich golf owner while David’s family run the two successful hospital in DC” Judy said.

“Your parents might know about David parents since they are partners” Mira quickly added.

“And Bryan is the second son of the Torres Family. They are known to be the richest family in DC and they are in business too with your dad’s company” Pearl chipped in.

“And also, Bryan is Leo younger brother. The two might have come out of the same womb but they act like strangers” Pearl added.

“Why?”

“A fight had ensued between the two a year ago and rumour has it that it’s all because of a girl” Mira whispered that part to her.

Apart from Valerie, they’ve also been a girl in Leo’s life, Chloe thought as she kept listening to the info her friends are telling her.

“And ever since then, the two haven’t been on good terms. Infact Bryan friends detest Leo friends just as much as Leo friends detest Bryan friends” Judy stated.

“And isn’t their parents doing a thing about it?” Chloe asked.

“We don’t know that part but you will after all you are the closest female to them when we are out of school” Mira said.

“Was I that close to them in the past?” Chloe asked.

“You kept referring to Bryan as a crazy jerk who loved teasing you at every chance he got while you worshipped the ground Leo walked on even when he was a jerk to you” Judy replied shaking her head slowly.

“So then, I was a love sick fool?” Chloe asked.

“You were more than that but let’s put that aside and move onto Leo and his friends” Pearl said having a distasteful look on her face which got Chloe wondering if Leo had been very bad to them too.

“Leo, Stephanie, Marianna , Jessica and Wilfred hang around together and apart from being a snub and bully they were very cruel to you” Judy said.

“They bullied you in the past and if it hadn’t been for you, they would have also bullied us” Mira added softly.

“You told them not to mess with us and that if they wanted to mess with some one, they should do it with you which they did. Am sorry Valerie, we weren’t there when you needed us” Pearl added as the three of them had a guilty look on their face.

“It’s okay. It’s all a thing of the past and so you shouldn’t worry about it” Chloe said trying to cheer them up.

Just then they heard a clattering of plate and turning to the direction where it came from they saw a female student sitting alone with another female who seemed to be bullying her.

“That witch is at it again” Judy murmured.

“Who is she?” Chloe asked.

“She’s Jessica and that girl is the newest girl they bully” Mira said just at Jessica stood up hitting the girl on her head.

Did Valerie had to go through all that? Chloe thought as her fist tightened in anger.

“Won’t anyone do a thing?” Chloe asked.

“Anyone who dares end up being their next bullying mate and those who can do some thing ignores it since it’s got nothing to do with them” Judy said starring at Bryan and his friends who were indeed ignoring what was happening.

“Well some one has got to do something” Chloe said getting up before her friends could stop her.

Jessica was about slapping the girl again when Chloe took hold of her hand.

“What the hell….Valerie?” Jessica called trying to pull her hand out of Chloe’s hold.

“Why don’t you just talk instead of hitting her, she’s frightened already ” Chloe said starring at the girl who kept crying.

“And how’s that your business, You should know that you are our next target once this twerp is out of here” Jessica stated still trying to pull her hand away.

“Really? Then let’s talk about that when my time has come but now we are still talking about this girl and she is…..” Chloe stopped talking when Jessica pulled her hair with her free hand.

By now everyone was starring at them including Bryan and his friends.

“Wasn’t Valerie bullied by them?” David asked Bryan who nodded in return.

“Then why is she sticking her nose into that girl problem when she still have hers to deal with?” David asked as he kept munching on his snacks.

“Cause she wanna play super hero but then am sure she will be put in her place” Luke replied.

But Bryan kept silent watching her silently. He didn’t know why but there’s some thing about her that have changed, she certainly isn’t the timid little Valerie who left here two months ago.

“Why are you meddling in what doesn’t concern you, you bitch!” Jessica yelled while pulling Chloe hair and having had enough, Chloe took hold of the hand she used in holding her hair pushing it to her back while she took hold of neck, pressing it on the cafeteria table stunning everyone including her friends.

“Why am I meddling? Am meddling cause of bitches like you who are meant to be put in their place” Chloe said pressing at her head until Jessica stopped shaking.

“Do you know that you are making things hard for yourself?” Jessica asked

“You are the one making things hard for yourself, your meant to be begging for me to let you go” Chloe stated.

“Never! I won’t beg you” Jessica said as she moved around wanting to release herself but Chloe tightened her hold making Jessica scream out in pain.

“Are you crazy! Let go of me!” Jessica screamed.

“Apologise” Chloe said.

“Am sorry! Am sorry damn it!” Jessica yelled again.

“Not to me dimwit but to her” Chloe said referring to the student who was being bullied.

“Am sorry, am really sorry” Jessica said to the girl.

“What do you say? Is her apology enough for me to release her?” Chloe asked.

The girl was about saying yes when Chloe shook her head at her.

“No, it’s not enough ” the girl said changing her answer.

“Hear that? Apologise the proper way and I will let you go ” Chloe said and immediately Jessica began to apologise.

“I won’t ever bully you again, I will be your slave if you want me to but please just forgive me. Forgive me so I can be set free!” Jessica yelled out in pain.

“Is that good enough?” Chloe asked and the girl nodded with a smile on her face.

Chloe let go of Jessica who moved away from her in fright.

“You bitch! You won’t get away with this” she said running out of the cafeteria while the other students laugh at her before starring at Chloe in admiration.

“Thank you” the girl said.

“You don’t have to thank me but you should stand up for yourself, the next time she comes just show her what you are made of, she’s nothing but a sissy” Chloe said earning a smile from the girl.

Chloe was heading back to her seat when she saw Bryan watching her and once again he had this strange look on his face.

She was still starring when her friends claim her attention.

TORRES HOME

A car stopped in front of the huge mansion and two guards who held onto Bryan got out of the car with him in toll.

“Let go of me! I can walk on my own” Bryan said pulling out of their hold but that didn’t get the guards to stay away from him.

He went into the house only to see his mother and Leo in the sitting room.

“Until when will you keep up with this darn attitude” Mary Torres asked her son.

“I just went out to meet my friend” Bryan replied having a nonchalant look on his face.

“A friend who is a slut and your meeting place turns out to be a hotel! Do you know how that will affect your father if it gets on the news that you were seen in an hotel with some one twice your age?” Mary yelled at him.

“I wasn’t doing anything bad and besides am a grown up and can do whatever I want. Leo is free to do whatever he wants but when it comes to me, it becomes a problem” Bryan retorted already getting angry.

“That’s because Leo acts with sense and not with his libido” Jeremy Torres said coming into the room.

“You tend to act with out brains and that’s because you don’t have one!” Jeremey added glaring at his second son.

“You know that this moment is important for me but you keep acting up, doing things that would destroy my candidacy” Jeremey yelled at him.

“I know that….”

“Keep shut, if Leo hadn’t told us about your plan, you would have put us in shame again. Have you already forgot what happened a year ago? I had to clean up your mess!” Jeremey said making Bryan recall what happened a year ago.

“Go to your room, your face alone is making me very angry” he added and immediately Bryan went up the stairs heading to his room.

He was on the landing when he heard his name being called, he turned to see Leo walking up to him.

“What! Are you here to make fun of me?” Bryan asked.

“Whether you believe it or not, I didn’t want this to happen and I….”

“Save your excuses. I know you use every opportunity you can to make me look bad in front of our parents, you did that a year ago too” Bryan said.

“Let’s not talk about what happened a year ago”

“Why? We both know that you were the one at fault, you were the one who did all of those things but to get yourself out of trouble, you put the blame on me” Bryan said.

“And so? I did that to save my neck and it’s all In the past, it’s high time you forget about it and…..” Leo stopped talking when Bryan took hold of his shirt.

“You ruined a poor girl life and put the blame on me making me look bad in front of our parents and you want me to forget about it?” Bryan asked.

“If you don’t forget about it, what do you intend to do? You can’t change what happened since it’s all in the past” Leo said pulling Bryan hand off his clothe.

“You don’t regret what happened right?” Bryan asked slowly.

“I don’t dwell on things that are of the past. So get over it already!” Leo yelled at him.

“You really are incredible, nothing ever hurts you right?” Bryan asked suddenly.

“You sure are right, nothing hurts me” Leo replied looking angry too.

“Then it won’t hurt you if I begin to take every thing from you?”

“What is mine that you intend to take away ?” Leo asked.

“Everything. Am going to take every little thing you have until you regret every thing you’ve done, I can promise you that” Bryan vowed before going to his room.

NEXT DAY~ M&M ACADEMY

The car stopped in front of the school and while the chauffeur got out of the car to open the door for both Byran and Leo.

Bryan saw Chloe walk by and slowly he turned to Leo.

“You asked me last night how I plan on taking what belongs to you right?” He asked while Leo stared at him.

“I will start by taking the one person whose feelings towards you have always been genuine” Bryan added before getting out of the car while Leo followed suit.

Running up the stairs, Bryan caught up with Chloe taking hold of her hand.

“What’s wrong?” Chloe asked trying to pull her hand out of his.

“I want to talk to you” Bryan replied starring at Leo who stood watching them.

“Let go of my hand and we will…..what are you doing!” She half yelled in surprise when Bryan suddenly pulled her towards him, fastening his arms around her while he made the hug a intimate one.

“Am trying to steal you away from someone” Bryan said tightening his hold while starring down at Leo……
