Chapter 6.
Eva 💘
Grayson stands in front of us with his hands tuck in his pocket, a smirk tugging at the corner of his lip.
His eyes flick to Bianca and I see series of emotions display in his eyes, but it was just for a split second.
“I’m what?” He asked.
I let out a nervous laugh but Bianca doesn’t react.
She was rather glaring daggers at him, her gaze challenging him.
“Gray, w-we were talking about how awesome you were that day” I said, I manage to make my voice firm.
“Which day?”
“The day you saved us from Alaric and Jason”
He nods and laughs.
Humph! Even his laughter sounds suspicious.
“Really? You were amazed at my grand entry?”
I furrow my eyebrows a bit.
Grand entry for rescuing people?.
He takes slow malicious steps towards Bianca, Bianca on the other hand doesn’t quiver away, she stands still.
“Grayson!”
We heard Fred called him from upstairs.
Grayson halt his steps and turned to Fred, his expression changes drastically.
He wipes the smirk off his face and wore a big smile.
I stare at him with my mouth hanging open.
What exactly is his motive? Why is he acting differently in front of Fred?
I take a peek at Fred, he is glaring at Grayson with his jaw clenched and his fist clenched.
I frown. Is he suspecting Grayson too?.
“Boss, good morning”
“Grayson, what are you doing here? I don’t remember calling for you” Fred said as he comes walk down the stairs.
“Yeah, I just wanted to check on you”
“Since when did you start checking up on me?”
Grayson didn’t say anything, he just keeps staring at Fred and smiling.
“So boss, any job for me today?”
“No. You can go back”
“Ok”
Grayson turns to the door, but not before stopping by my side and whisper in my ear.
“If I were you, I’d steer clear of my business” then he leaves.
“I hate him” Bianca said.
Well I can’t help but agree with her, how did we not even hear him coming.
I feel arms encircling my wa-ist, he k-sses my bare shoulder softly and I smile.
“Fred, are you going somewhere?” Bianca ask.
“Yeah, Jared is back”
“Hm, I know” she replies.
“You know? How?”
“We had dinner last night”
“What? I called him to come back, so why did he meet up with you first”
Just then we hear footsteps, we turn a see Roy running down with his uniform on.
“Uncle look, I’m gonna study to be a great power ranger!”
Boi! This kid is darn obsessed with power rangers.
“I see you are ready for school” I said.
“Yes”
“Good, make sure to make some good news friends, yeah” he nods.
Bianca pulls me away from Fred and starts to pull his ear.
“Bianca, what are you doing?” He asked.
“What have you been teaching my son?”
“What did I teach him?”
“About guns?”
“Oh, I told him I’ll teach him how to shoot… he’s a little man now”
Bianca stomp on his feet and he grunts in pain.
“Fred, how can tell him that?”
“What?”
“What is what? Is this how you’re gonna bring up our kids?” I ask him.
Sometimes I wonder if he’s even an adult.
He takes Bianca’s hand off his ear and turn to me.
“Bae, I’ve told you before. We are not having any kids, look I’m having trouble being an uncle, I can’t add parenting to it”
“What? This is the second time you’re telling me that”
“And I’m serious”
Bianca taps my shoulder and I turn to her.
“Don’t mind Fred, he’s joking” she takes Roy’s hand. “I should take this champ to school now”
I wave Royale good-bye.
Bianca and Royale head out.
Just then Fred’s phone rings.
“Yeah, Luther”
He paused.
I tone him out and start thinking.
Why doesn’t he want to have kids? We are a couple, a married couple, so it’s very likely that we will have kids any time soon.
So does this mean if I get pregnant, he’ll reject it?
No, we need to talk about this properly.
“Bae, I better leave now. Jared is waiting for me”
“Wait, about the kids, why can’t we have one?”
“Because I don’t think I’ll be a great dad, I don’t know much about them”
“Me too, I also don’t know much about kids. But we can know more about them by having one of our own, we can learn to be good parents together”
“No, Eva. We are too young to be parents”
“Huh”
Too young? Is that even a reason?.
“Yeah, we are still students. We still need our parents opinions sometimes, so how do you expect us to have a baby now? What value are we gonna install in him?”
“Fred, you are just looking for unreasonable excuses. We can… ”
“Eva, it’s decided. No kids!”
“Fred… ”
“See you later” he k-sses my cheek softly and head out.
Well, I better don’t get pregnant. I’ll start taking after pills.
My phone beep, I check and see it’s a text from Bree.

Let’s visit Jason’s grave

I smiled and jump happily.
Since Fred doesn’t want to take me, I’ll just go with Aubrey.
I limp-run upstairs to take a bath.

It’s not like I don’t want to have kids with Eva, but given the present situation, I can’t have kids.
I don’t wanna risk my child’s life, having him now will make him my enemy’s target.
I enter the restaurant and head straight to our s₱0t. Jared and some of my boys are already there.
“Jared!” I called his name.
He quickly stands up and we did our bro hug.
“Frederick, longest time”
I glared at him, he knows how I hate my full name but he doesn’t stop calling it just to piss me off.
“Jared, stop calling me that”
“Why? Your name is Fredrick”
“Jared!”
He laughs.
“Boss!” My boys greet me.
We all sit down.
“So, Fred I heard you are married. Why didn’t you invite me to your wedding, or is your wife so gorgeous that you’re scared I’ll elope with her?”
I roll my eyes.
“Firstly, she’s beyond gorgeous but she wouldn’t elope with you. And secondly, we didn’t have a wedding, we just signed our marriage papers”
“Hmm, now that you say she’s beyond gorgeous, I’d love to see her”
“Soon”
There was a brief silence until I broke the silence.
“Jared, I was the one that called you, so why did you meet with Bianca first”
He breaks into a smile.
“Because she is my love, I’d rather see her before you”
“My sister is three years older than you, Jared” I told him.
He scoffs.
“So? Age doesn’t mean anything, Fred. Love doesn’t consider age, true love doesn’t…. ”
“Ok, ok! Enough of the love talk, how about the job I gave you? How is it going?”
He nods and pop up the cover of his beer and take one gulp.
“I have find it out” he said.
“What did you find out?”
“Grayson!”
“Grayson?”
“Yes” he reply.
“What about him?”
“He’s got a motive and not a good one. My men s₱0t he m a few times with some of the Russians, and we’ve been following his calls lately, he is planning something bad”
This is why I called Jared back to LA, I told him to investigate Grayson secretly since I can’t do it myself.
Grayson is my shadow, he goes everywhere with me so if I investigate him myself, it’ll be dangerous.
This is the only place he doesn’t come with me, so it’s safe for me and Jared to talk here.
“Tell me everything you know” I told him.
“Ok”

He told me everything and I nod.
I never knew Grayson is angry with me, I have always been good to him, I treated him like my brother.
And I trusted him more than my family, but why is he plotting against me?
What went wrong?
“I thought Grayson has being with you since childhood”
“Yeah”
“Why is he plotting against you now?”
“I don’t know, but until we know why he betrayed me, let’s play along with his plan”
“How?”
“Now that we know his plan, Let’s pretend like we know nothing, we’ll play the victim, let him believe we fell into his trap and when his guard is down, we will strike”
Jared nod. I smirk.
Let’s talk about Jared a little.
He doesn’t like the Mafia because he and I went through hell together in the hands of the Italian Mafia.
So he had decided to steer clear of it, but he doesn’t fail to help me when I need him to.
“Let’s drink up” he said raising his bottle of beer.
I raised mine too and click it with his lightly.
He takes the bottle to his mouth and take large gulps.
My phone rings, it’s Luther.
“Luther” I said into the phone.
“Young boss, come over to the hospital. I have good news and bad news”
“Ok, I’ll be there”
I hang up.
“Jared, I’m going to the hospital, we will talk later”
“Hospital? Is your wife giving birth?”
“What? No! Absolutely not!”
Why is everyone talking about kids today…….
“Oh, is your girlfriend a nurse?”
“What is wrong with you, Jared. I’m faithful to my wife” I narrow my eyes at him. “This is why Bianca won’t be in a relationsh¡p with you, you’re a cheater”
“No, I’m not. I can never cheat on Bianca”
“Keep deceiving yourself” I pick my car keys. “See you later”
I head out.
