★ LIES & DECEIT★

RESTAURANT

“What’s wrong, You look a bit nervous?” Frederick asked as he sat down on his seat

“It’s just that I….”

“And what’s with the Rose, it wasn’t here before I left” he asked.

“I also don’t know cause I keep on recieving …” She got interrupted when Frederick’s phone began to ring.

“It’s Grandma” he whispered to her before answering the call.

“You’re what! Don’t give my room to Brianna. Just leave it is as it is, don’t you know that it’s the last thing I use in remembering our parents?” He said into the reciever.

“Just leave it as it is. You are right! Am jealous, am a jealous man and I will keep on being one if you don’t listen to me. Brianna should make adjustment to her room, am willing to pay the cost. Just don’t touch my room” he said before ending the call.

“What’s wrong?” Tiffany asked.

“She want to give my room to Brianna and I don’t want that” Frederick replied childishly.

“But you are no longer staying there, so why keep the room?” Tiffany asked.

“That room was decorated by my parents. Seeing it always help me remember them” Frederick replied softly.

“You must think me childish for holding onto some thing like that?” Frederick asked.

“No. It’s just your jealous attitude. I always thought you were like that with me alone, I never knew you are likeq that to everyone and everything” she said which got him starring at her.

“It’s the one fault I have. I tend to get angry when something of mine is being taken or when some one covets it. I hate it and some times it leads to violence but am trying to curb it, hope it doesn’t make me look bad to you?” He asked mildly and instead of replying she took hold of his hand and kiss it.

“I love you just the way you are” she replied making him laugh.

“You haven’t told me where the rose came from?” He asked suddenly.

“Well the erm…the waiter brought it to me. A reward for looking beautiful” she lied quickly.

“And where the hell is this waiter? ” Frederick asked his gaze roaming around.

“Why do you ask?”

“So I can knock his teeth off. How dare he try to seduce my wife in broad day light?” He replied which got her laughing.

It’s a good thing she lied to him or he would have gotten angry due to his jealous tendency.

Sophia was serving the employee their lunch when Lucas walk into the cafeteria.

On seeing him, she told Peter to take over and quickly went to the female rest room for cover.

The only reason why Lucas came to the cafeteria is to see her and she didn’t want to see him since he will keep pestering her about marriage which she didn’t want.

She stood there for some few minutes and when she was sure that Lucas would have been long gone, she left the rest room only to see him waiting at the door way.

“I thought you would never come out” he said softly.

Sophia ignored him and chose to leave but he took hold of her arm and pulled her back into the female rest room bolting the door.

“What are you doing sir?” She asked moving backwards while he kept cornering her till her back hit the wall.

“Stop referring to me as sir. I like it when you call me Lucas” he admitted even as he pulled her into his arms.

“I can’t call you that since am just an emplo….”

“And that’s why I want you to marry me but you keep on refusing but let me make one thing clear to you that I won’t give up, I won’t give up till I get a yes from you” he declared before giving her a kiss.

Sophia tried to pull away but he didn’t give her the chance to and that left her standing still in his arms while he explore her mouth.

She wouldn’t deny that she is also enjoying the kiss since he is a good kisser.

“That was mind blowing” he murmured when he let go.

“I won’t give up on you Sophia, I mean it” he said to her before leaving the rest room.

Sophia on the other hand couldn’t help but to blush whenever she recalled the kiss.

She was heading back to the cafeteria where Peter and Vivi were both doing her path of work when Tiffany arrived.

“Did your date with the boss go well” Sophia asked teasingly but when she saw the worried look on Tiffany’s face, she knew some thing was wrong.

“Can we go to the changing room to talk about it'” Tiffany asked and Sophia went with her to the changing room where she told her everything that was happening.

“Do you know the person sending the flower?” Sophia asked.

“I don’t and that’s the worst part. He doesn’t leave a name or anything in his letter. I had to lie to Frederick about it” Tiffany replied looking worried.

“Why don’t we do this, I have a friend who oftens track people. We can hire him and get him to find this guy” Sophia suggested.

“That will be great. I want to know who this jerk is and ask him why he is doing this to me” Tiffany said hotly.

“Then I will give him a call” Sophia said as she dialed the number.

NEXT DAY ~ FREDERICK’S PENT HOUSE

Frederick woke up to find the bed empty beside him.

Where could Tiffany have gone to? He thought as he went downstairs in search of her.

Aside from his breakfast which she prepared there was no sign of her.

He returned to the room they share and called her.

“Am sorry I left without saying a thing. I didn’t want to wake you up” Tiffany said as soon as she answered his call.

“It’s okay. Where did you go to?”

“I went to the market to get some oysters for afternoon lunch. Vivi couldn’t make it and so I volunteered to do it” she replied.

“Fine then though I don’t like it that you are the one they sent to the market” he said feeling a bit annoyed.

“It’s my job and you better don’t say anything to my collegeaues or I will make you pay” she said which got him laughing.

“How will you make me pay? In bed?” He asked naughtily.

“You naughty ogre. Have got to go, talk to you later” She said before ending the call.

KING HOTEL

As soon as Tiffany ended the call to Frederick, she stared at Sophia who was by her side.

“I hate lying to him but I have no choice” Tiffany said while Sophia nodded.

“If you had told him the truth, he would have rushed to the hotel to get you ” Sophia said softly.

“Why did your friend ask us to meet him in a hotel? A restaurant would have been better” Tiffany let out in frustration.

“He is that way, let’s just go and tell him about our problem and find a solution ” Sophia said as they both went into the hotel and unknown to them Yvonne who was visiting a friend in the hotel followed them.

Frederick was going through some files when he got a call from Yvonne.

He chose to ignore it but when she kept calling without giving up, he decided to pick.

“What do you want?” He snapped at her.

“Do you know where your wife is?” She said down the line.

“If you are going to ruin my day with your stupid talk, I suggest you…”

“She’s in a hotel and currently in a room with a guy” Yvonne said cutting him off abruptly.

“Is that all you have to say? Goodbye then” he said ending the call on her.

Frederick set his phone aside thinking about what Yvonne said.

Is Tiffany really in a hotel? He shouldn’t doubt her. She went to the market to get oysters and that is the truth, he thought as he went back to sorting out the paper in front of him but he got a message.

Clicking on the message Yvonne sent, he saw a picture of Tiffany and Sophia leaving the hotel.

Setting his phone aside again, he began wondering why Tiffany lied to him.

Meanwhile as soon as Tiffany and Sophia left the hotel, Yvonne went to the room they came out from.

She knocked thrice before the guy in the room came out of it.

“Can I help you?” He asked.

“You can. I just want to know why those two ladies were here?” Yvonne asked referring to Tiffany and Sophia.

“Am I oblige to tell you that?” The guy asked.

“You aren’t but am sure you will talk when you see this” she said pulling out some money out of her purse.

“If you are only going to waste my time then I suggest you….”

“Am willing to double the amount as long as you tell me why those ladies were here!” Yvonne said quickly and that got the guy rethinking.

“Pay first” he said and immediately Yvonne pulled out more money from her purse.

“They are in search of a guy and so they came to me for help” The guy replied.

They must be looking for Jerry? Yvonne thought biting her lips nervously.

“Can you do me a favour, I promise to pay you more” Yvonne said which got the guy smiling.

NIGHT~ FREDERICK’S PENT HOUSE

Tiffany went in search of Frederick only to find him in his study room.

“Aren’t you coming to bed?” She asked.

“Still busy with work” he replied his gaze on the laptop in front of him.

Tiffany wondered why he was acting cold.

“Fine then, don’t be up late” she said turning to leave.

“Don’t you have some thing to tell me?” Frederick asked which got her stopping in her track.

“Ugh”

“Why did you lie about going to the market when you were in a hotel with Sophia this morning?” He asked hating the fact that he brought the subject up.

He’s been expecting her to say it and when she didn’t, he decided to bring the subject up himself.

“How did you find out?” She let out softly.

“Does it matter ? What matters now is that you lied to me and I want to know why?” He demanded.

“Am sorry, I didn’t mean to lie to you. I wanted to tell you the whole thing but when you told me about your Jealous tendency, I decided to keep shut and sort it out myself” Tiffany said as she went back into the study.

“Why don’t you start by telling me what’s going on” He asked and a while later, Frederick sat on the sofa in the sitting room rereading the letter the anonymous guy sent to her.

“You do believe me when I say that I don’t know who he is right? ” Tiffany asked and that brought his gaze on her.

“You know the answer to that. You don’t even have to ask” he said taking hold of her hand.

“When did the tracker guy ask you to return?” Frederick asked.

“Tomorrow, he will have the answer we need tomorrow” Tiffany replied.

“Okay” Frederick answered.

NEXT DAY

“You don’t have to go with me” Tiffany said as Frederick ushered her into the car.

“I also want to know the bastard that is sending you the letter” Frederick replied as he got in beside her.

Knowing that Frederick meant what he said, she kept quiet and said nothing.

They went to the hotel restaurant and waited for the tracker guy to show up.

He did show up after half an hour of them waiting.

” Hello Mrs Davies” he greeted and Tiffany did the intro.

“So? Did you find him?” Tiffany asked eager to know the answer.

“I did. His name is Jerry Hale, he lives in Kentucky and recently came here in search of you” the tracker guy replied.

“Why would he be here for me?” Tiffany asked.

“Cause he is your lover” the tracker guy said startling the couple.

“What lover are you talking about? I don’t have a lover!” Tiffany yelled at him.

“You told me to track him down and that was what I found out. He gave me these when I spoke to him” the tracker guy said as he put on the table pictures of Tiffany.

“These are pictures I took when I was in school! How did he get it?” Tiffany yelled at the tracker guy.

“Since you are his lover, you are bound to share intimate pictures with…”

“Why on earth are you lying! We both know that he is not my lover, I don’t even know who he is!” Tiffany said getting out of her seat.

“You do. You know and you are willing to deny him due to your husband who is seated here. Sir, I suggest you leave a lying cheating…. Arrgh!!” The tracker guy yelled out when Frederick landed a punch on his face.

“Say that again about my wife and am going to kill you!” Frederick yelled wanting to go to him but Tiffany held him back.

“Scram before I tear your limbs apart!” Frederick yelled again and immediately the tracker guy ran off and by now the people in the restaurant were starring at them.

“Frederick” Tiffany called but he pulled away from her.

“Let’s go” he snapped looking very angry.

She sat in the car starring at him, he wasn’t saying a thing and it got her feeling agitated.

As soon as he stopped the car in front of the company.

Tiffany took hold of his hand not giving him a chance to leave the car.

“Why aren’t you saying something? Do you believe what that guy said?” Tiffany asked.

“Let’s not talk about….”

“I want to talk about it! The look in your eyes is telling me that you believe what that guy said” she said feeling hurt.

“And what do you want me to believe? Why would some one you don’t know send you flowers and letter? ” He asked softly.

“I also don’t know but I swear that I don’t know him” Tiffany replied.

“All of this is confusing. I don’t know whom to believe ” Frederick said which brought her gaze on him.

“You should believe me!”

“I want to! I really want to but after seeing the pictures, I don’t know what to think anymore. I don’t know who is saying the truth !” He yelled at her in return.

Tiffany looked away only to see Philip going into the building.

If some one knows her very well then it is Philip. He should be able to tell Frederick the truth, she thought as she got out of the car.

“Philip!” She called which made him stop.

“I need your help Philip, I need you to clarify some thing” Tiffany said feeling helpless.

“You don’t have to bring Philip into this” Frederick said as he joined the both of them.

“Since you don’t believe me. It’s only right that I ask him, Philip is the only friend have been close to, he knows everything about me and so I suggest you ask him” Tiffany said to Frederick.

“Fine then. Was Tiffany ever involved with a guy called Jerry Hales In the past?” Frederick asked Philip….
