🏹 PROLOGUE 🏹

“Elsie!” The Queen called as she ran into the chamber panting
“My Queen” I said kneeling in front of her
“The King is dead, she killed the King, she has a formidable army and they are killing through our warriors” the Queen said
“Just say the word my Queen and I’ll kill her in no time” I said
“She’s not that easy to kill, she’s the Ice Queen, no weapon can kill her except Mystical Sword and that’s where I need your help” The Queen said
“What is it my Queen, you only need to say and I’ll obey”
“The Mystical Sword is said to be in the Island of Langerhan, I need you to get that for me” she said
“That won’t be a problem my Queen” I said
“Many have tried to get the swords but they have failed that’s why am giving you this mission, you are my most trusted and skilled warrior but nevertheless this journey is too dangerous for you to go alone, you told me you were trained at the Order of the Phoenix right?” She asked
“Yes”
“The Order is known to train powerful warriors and assassins, so I beseech you Elsie, get your fellow warriors, the best in the Order and get them to journey with you to the Island of Langerhan cause the journey won’t be an easy one” she said
“Your wish is my command my Queen” I said with a bow
“Thank you Elsie, you’ve got to go now and please, return before the Ice Queen finish us all” she said
“I’ll be back with the sword my Queen” I said standing up
“My best wishes are with you” she said as she hugged me

💥 Author’s POV 💥
Good and evil are always complementary in this world
Where there is good, there must be an evil present
Midland is known as a peaceful but powerful kingdom, they have many commoners as well as lots of soldiers
Everywhere was good in Midland but unknown to them there’s an evil presence lurking in the shadows….
💥 Ice Queen’s POV 💥
“Nyla!” I called as I sat on my throne and she came running in
“How’s the preparation going?” I asked
“Very good my Queen, the army is ready and we’ve got lots of weapons, we are only waiting for your command to strike” Nyla said
“Then let’s strike Nyla, let’s trample on Midland first” I said
“Midland?” She asked surprised
“Yes” I replied
“But they have the strongest military power in all the kingdoms, they are like the stronghold of other kingdoms”
“That’s why we must cut off the head of the snake before going for the body” I said
“Is this about revenge Mother?” Nyla asked
“Revenge or no revenge, we are conquering Midland first” I said
“But mother….”
“Nyla!!” I yelled in anger and the castle shook and she cringed in fear “That you are my daughter doesn’t give you the right to talk back at me! I am the Ice Queen and my word is law!”
“Am sorry my Queen, I’ll get the army ready to conquer Midland” she said quickly and scurried away
I was once a weakling, I was naive and Midland trampled on me but I escaped that hell and with the help of the Crescent Moon 🌒, I am reborn stronger as the Ice Queen
I am stronger than ever before and I cannot be killed, I will conquer Midland and then go for the other kingdoms, the whole world shall kneel at my feet
Midland is like a thorn in my flesh, I must remove that thorn before any thing else, stay put Queen Helga, am coming for you, we have some unfinished business….
💥 Queen Helga’s POV 💥
I rushed into the palace chamber with my most trusted warrior, Elsie
“What’s wrong my King, I heard you summoned me urgently” I said
“The Ice Queen has escaped” he said and a cold chill ran through my body
“H…how? She was locked in deepest dungeon in the Shadow cave and she was chained with different magical enchantments that drained her powers so how did she manage to escape from there?” I asked
Read – There is no easy way out
“I don’t know Helga, I just got word that she escaped some days ago” the King said
“We have to act fast my King, we both know that she’ll be coming for Midland soon” I said
“I know that Helga but….” The King stopped talking as one of the warriors ran in panting
“Sorry for interrupting you my Lord but I have grave news” the warrior said
“Spill it” the King said
“The Ice Queen has just been sighted coming towards Midlands with an army of thousands” he said
“What!” The King and I exclaimed
“I told you my King, I know the Ice Queen, she’s desperate, what do we do now, it’s not like we can negotiate with her again” I said
“Assemble all our armies, tell our warriors to sharpen their swords and polish there bows, tell them to get ready for war” the King said to the warrior that came with the news
“Your wish is my command my Lord” he said as he stood up and ran out of the chamber
“Elsie” the King called
“My Lord” Elsie said kneeling in front of the throne
“Take the Queen back to her quarters and protect her with your life” he said
“But my King, I need to be by your side in this dangerous time” I said
“My dear Helga, you once defeated the Ice Queen singlehandedly with your wits but am afraid you won’t be able to help this time, this time I’ll be the one at the forefront cause this is war” he said
“Don’t tell me you are going to the war yourself”
“A King must lead his army” he said
“But my King, it’s dangerous, the Ice Queen is very powerful, she can’t be defeated that easily, you are putting your life at risk”
“Of course I should since I’ll also be putting the lifes of thousands of warriors at risk too” he said
“But my King….”
“Enough!!” He yelled “I shall lead my army to the war myself and if I fall, I fall with honour so return to your quarters Helga and never come out till I summon you” he said and I sighed
“Okay” I said as I bowed and left the chamber with Elsie following me from behind

Days passed and I was still in my quarters, the King hasn’t summoned me and am beginning to get worried
I stood up and walked towards the door but Elsie quickly came in my front
“Where are you going my Queen?” She asked
“I need to check on the situation outside” I said
“But the King asked you to stay in your quarters till he calls for you” Elsie said
“But he hasn’t called for me and it’s been days, I need to know what’s going on Elsie, I can’t continue staying locked up here”
“I think you should be patient my Queen” Elsie said
“To hell with patience!!” I yelled “I refuse to be a Queen that hides like a coward when her Kingdom is in danger”
“Am sorry my Queen” Elsie apologised
“Check the palace chamber and see if you can get me some information on what’s going on” I said
“Where will you go my Queen?” Elsie asked
“To the warriors camp” I said
“That can be dangerous..”
“I am not a weakling Elsie, I was once a warrior like you and I will face any danger for my Kingdom so check the Chambers and wait for me there, am only going to check on what’s happening at the warriors camp and I will return” I said and I opened the and walked out of the quarters
💥 Elsie’s POV 💥
I went to the chamber but it was as quiet as a graveyard, I didn’t even see a guard
The war must be really serious
If only am allowed to go to the war too, I’ll make sure to kill lots of the enemies but I can’t, I must protect the Queen
The door to the chamber suddenly flew open

I left the Chambers to my room in the Queen’s quarter
I must prepare well for this journey since not only the fate of Midland but the fate of the whole world depends on it
I’ve heard of Island of Langerhan before, it’s dangerous, filled with evil creatures and different mysteries and just like the Queen said, the journey won’t be an easy one
Back when I was still training at the Order of Phoenix, I formed a team, a team of the best warriors the Order has ever known but due to my eagerness and desperation to serve the Queen, to serve Midland, I left them and everyone went their own way
But a formidable journey needs a formidable team and I am going to get my team back together
I wore my armour and took my sword. I went to the stables and took the fastest horse then I rode off
