~ ERICA ~

After my intense make out with Leo, I slept off on his chest with the duvet covering us.

I open my eyes and everywhere is silent, I look to my side and Leo isn’t with me anymore, I look under the duvet and I’m still unclad. My bag is now on the stool beside the bed and a blue dress. I stand from the bed and place my feets on the floor and stretch myself, I smile at myself at the thought of my recent experience. I walk into the bathroom and bath myself well, cleaning every part of me. I walk out and clean myself dry with a towel. I rub the cream all over and dress up in the blue dress, the dress is so skimpy and fitting. I slide into the shoe I see and take my bag and walk out of the room.

I climb the stairs downstairs and the sitting room is empty also, I check my phone and the time is 7:46 pm. I stayed here for long. I walk out and slide into my car and drive off. Throughout my drive home, I had two feelings on my mind. I feel good with my intimacy with Leo, feels like something I’ve been expecting for long and just came. I smile and giggle on the wheels thinking about how his mouth and tongue worked on me, how his finger hit my G-s₱0t making me scre-m in ecstasy, how he rubbed my cl*t and tease my n-pple, the feeling was so damn different that I had to pass out. He’s such a professional. He didn’t even talk throughout the make out. And wait, he c-m in me. I halt at remembering this.. Damn.. I need to take pills.

Another feeling, I feel guilty for it, like I’m a traitor for s€×ing a criminal I’m supposed to investigate and arrest. Can I even arrest him. How I fell for him so fast is something I don’t understand, I had only loved one person all my life and that’s Pastor Jacob Leonard and Leo isn’t the one, how come I fell for him.

I pull my car over in my apartment as I get out and walk in. I’m just gonna go sleep.

NEXT MORNING

I enter into the agency, still thinking on how I’m gonna face Martins and tell him how I got drunk, and later ended up on Leo’s bed mo-ning his name and missed office. Crazy.

I sight Ramsey and I halt and scrunch my face,

“Ramsey.. ” I silently mutter. What’s he doing here?

I walk closer to him.

“We need to talk….” he says before I mutter a word.

“What are you doing here? I thought you were gone?” I say raising my voice a little and I see people look at me.
“What? ” I shout at them.

“Calm down Erica, you’re the only one they’re seeing, I’m invisible, you’re acting like you’re insane.” Ramsey mutters.

WTF! Mehn…. I just fell stupid.

“Let’s go talk in your car.. ” he says and walk ahead of me as I follow him with my head bent.

He opens the door to the passenger’s seat and sit down and I sit in the driver’s seat holding the wheel not facing him.

“Erica, you’re into something big, something that’s gonna hurt you in the end.” he say.

“What’s that? ” I say as I turn to face him.

“You’re loving James, you had s€× with him… All this is gonna hurt you. ” he says and I scoff. How did he know that? F-cking living dead.

“How’s that your concern.. ” I ask him. “I can f-ck whoever I wanna f-ck and it doesn’t concern you.” I half yell at him.

“It’s none of my business tho, just wanna tell you.. Don’t loose focus on stopping him. Two days to the celebration of the creation of this state, when force men and politicians will be holding a grand meeting at the stadium, he’s gonna stage an attack that’s gonna affect the wh0le state.” he says and I stare at him.

“How did you know this?” I ask.

“I eavesdropped on his conversation.”

Yeah, I f-cked and I know nothing.

“Try all you can to stop him. As for me, I’m not sure if my plan’s gon’stop him but I wanna revenge back on what he did to me in that restaurant since I’m dying soon. Ion care anymore.” he says and before I could mutter a word, I see him no more.

I don loose guard. I already lost focus. That day is just five days left, even if I’m not gonna kill him cos I loved him, I’m gonna stop him anyways. First let me go ask him if what Ramsey say is true. I start the car engine and drive off.

I hit the road and was driving on top speed when suddenly I thought of something and stop the car. I’m going to see my mum first.

I turn back and head to mum’s apartment.

I enter into the house and I meet mum and her family. I ignore everyone and greet just mum.

“Mum we need to talk, it’s urgent. ” I say and she step outside with me.

“Mum, I heard cobra is gonna launch an attack on the 25th… and it’s gonna be big, I need to stop him before then” I say.

“Who told you that?” she asks.

“Ramsey… ” I say and mom stares at me in a strange way.

“Did you have s€×?” she asks out of the blues. What? Why is she asking.

“Mum that’s not what we’re saying right now.” I say not comfortable with what she’s asking.

“Answer me.. ” she says.

“Yeah.. ” I answer reluctantly

“With who… ” she asks. Why is she suddenly asking this things?

“With Cobra… ” I tell her.

“F-ck…. ” she mutters. ” Follow me… ” she says and walks in,side as I follow behind.

She takes me to the power room we went the other day. Her garment changes as soon as we enter like the other day, she rubs something on her palm and holds the short cowry staff.

“Give me your left hand” she say and I obey. She did somethings on it closing her eyes and she opens it.

“Why did you lay with cobra” she asks.

Lobatan…

“Mum, you told me to fall in love o” I say. I’m not comfortable with how things are turning.

“And I didn’t say have s€×… you let your under control you.” she says.
“Did he open his mask?” she asks.

“No”

“Did you get his mother’s name yet?” she asks.

“No.. ” I reply again.

“We need to stop him fast, a great disaster is coming, maybe we need to stop his powers if we really know the source.” she says.

“Mum what’s wrong.. ” I ask, I’m already getting worried with how she’s acting.

“I know you don’t yet.. Cos it’s not yet long ” she says and I huff.

“Mum, hit it straight… ” I tell her.

“You’re pregnant… ”

“WHAT!!!?” I exclaim. This is so strange and funny.
“Mum are you high? Are you saying I’m one day pregnant or what? It’s not even twenty four hours yet” I yell and weep a little. Pregnancy, last thing I want right now.

“That’s what I saw Erica. The question is, why in heavens sake did you sleep with him” she asks.

“I don’t know mom, looks like he hypnotized me or maybe the effect of alcohol.” I say in weeping voice.
“I was gonna use a pill when I get home or I can just flush it.”

“You can’t..” mom says.

“Why? ” I ask surprised.

“He did it on purpose and for a reason, there’s nothing you can do to terminate that dude in your womb.” mom states.

“F-ck..” I cuss under my breath. I’m getting outta.

I turn my back and walk out.

“Erica.. ” mum calls after me but ignore.

I storm outta mum’s apartment and angrily enter my car and drive angrily outside, I’m meeting Leo straight.

I open the door to Leo’s apartment, all in my head was to scre-m and pour anger on him. But on opening the door and seeing him, my body calmed.

“Leo.. ” I call gently. I don’t understand, there’s an aura I feel around him that calms me and makes feel a way I haven’t felt before.

“Greg, excuse.. ” he orders and Greg walks out. He stands and love closer to me.
“What’s happening… ” his calm voice says.

“Why… ” I say as tears stream down my eyes. “if you had a purpose it shouldn’t have been with me.” I weep the more.

“Erica, what’s it.. ” he coos.

“Why will you impregnate me?” I tell him holding his chest. He halts and slowly takes my hands off him as he moves backward. I look at his face, though he’s on mask, I still feel the surprise plastered on his face.

“How come you know?” he asks.

“Is that the question?” I ask him.

“Like, who told you?” he asks again.

“Leo, that isn’t the thing now, the question is why me? Why would you deposit your seed in me?” I half yell amidst weep.

“F-ck… ” he cuss under his breath as he moves closer again and hold my hands.

“Erica, I care for you and I love you….. ” he says and my head sounds ‘gbagaun’. Love me? From where. He continues, “…..i couldn’t think of anyone else, you were the only one on my head.”

I laugh weep again. “You’re joking right?” I ask him.

“Nah.. ” he replies. ” What happened yesterday, I had waited so long for it to happen… Longer than you can imagine.” I’m taken aback by what he just says, waited so long. Who’s he?.

“Who are you? Where have you been that I don’t know when you’ve been waiting?” I ask.

“I’m James Leo, you’d know me better when it’s time.. ” he says and hug me tight as I weep in his chest. Now, I don’t even understand why I’m weeping.

“Are you really planning an attack in the 25th?” I ask and he scoffs as he mutters ‘Ramsey’ silently but I heard.

“Who told you that too?” he asks.

“Nobody..” I say and disengage from his hold.

“Whatever you’re planning… Stop it, cos I won’t think twice before stopping it harming you.” with that said I walk out.

I sit in my bar drinking, smoking and thinking, I don’t like how things are going, I inhale just smoke and exhale it.

I know I’m not gonna make it at the end of everything and I don’t just wanna leave without leaving something behind, Erica’s the only one that has captured my heart and I had no choice than to implant it in her.

But, still confused on how she knew about it when it’s not twenty four hours yet, and Ramsey, douche bag told her my plans and now she wanna stop me. It’s not gonna happen.

I don’t wanna deal with Ramsey anymore, dude’s gonna die, he’s my brother after all. now I should start preparing how that day’s gonna be and how I’ll return.

I might tell Erica everything about this before the day. But one thing is sure, I’m not missing this last attack.

“Hello Erica.” mum says over the phone.

“Hi mum ” I reply.

“Take some days off work and meet with me in my second place, no time anymore.. Let’s plan on stopping Leo.” she says.

“Is it that important?.” I ask.

“I’m sure you don’t wanna carry a fatherless child.” she says and I understand.

“okay mum.. ” I say and hang up.

I call Martins immediately.

“Hello Martins..” I say over the phone.

“My God, where have you been.. ” he says.

“Been busy, no long talk, just wanna say from today henceforth, I’m not gonna come to work anymore cos I wanna solve this mystery on my own, I need to think.” I tell him.

“Alright… take care” he mutters and I hang up.

I slide into a dress, pack some clothes in a bag and go outside, enter my car and drive off.

On my way, I stop by at a filling station to refuel the car. I paid and left.

At mom’s second apartment, I park the car in front and walk in.

“Mum.. ” I greet her

“Erica, no long talk cos I’m so concerned about this, it’s just four days to now. ” she say.

“What’s the first plan.. ” I ask.

“You’ll go back to Leo.” she say.

“Why? ”

“In two days, get his source of power and what’s gonna happen to him after everything.” mum says.

“Damn… ” I mutter.

“Stay focus, don’t let your juices lead you astray.”
