The call ended and Cindy breathed out as she made her way into the hospital building.
She met Lizzy in the hallway.
It’s been long since she saw her last.. and she didn’t bother greeting her since they’re neither on good or bad term. She made to walk pass her when her voice made her halt.
‘Did she just greeted her?’ Cindy thought as she turned to her direction.
“Good morning doctor James.” Lizzy said smiling
“Good morning nurse….” Cindy greeted trying to remember her name.

“Please boss… I can manage.,” Dammie pleaded almost going on her knees as she begged Philip.
Philip had told her to leave work ’cause he was aware of her condition and what doctor told her.
“I know you’re competent but this work is stressful for you. Imagine if I hadn’t came to work on time that day you collapsed… What would we be saying by now? ”
” That was just that day. It will not happen again. I would be more careful. ” Dammie pleaded.
” I know. But this work is not for you anymore. Sorry but I have things to do on my system! ” He said and ignored Dammie’s pleadings.
After some minutes, Philip called two of his securities to esc-rt her out of his company. He called another worker to place a vacancy notice outside.
He breathed out and his thoughts went to Cindy and where she asked them to meet. He stood up, took his car keys and left his office.

“How did this huge amount of money disappeared from the company’s account? ” He yelled at his secretary as sweat beads formed on his forehead.
“S… Sir… I… We don’t know because there was no trace of the transaction. We just knew something was wrong but no one knows how, when! ” The secretary answered.
“Shuut up !!! ” Emmanuel yelled more louder?!
“How do you mean that you don’t know how or when? Do you know the gravity of this? This company is down with debts!” He yelled more louder than the previous.
His secretary was silent not knowing what else to utter. The wh0le thing was like a dream to everyone in the company.
His phone rang. He angrily picked it seeing it’s from the bank where he work.
📞Yes? I’m on my way .. anything you want to say can wait.
📲It can’t wait sir .. you’re wanted by the government for there’s an unknown transaction of huge amount of money that left the bank’s account.
📞W….wh…what did you just said? Another money lost?
📲Yes sir… you should be here right away.
The call ended… Emmanuel was like he was dreaming.
First, his own personal company is in huge debt! Then the bank where he worked too ……he felt like leaving the world forever and not to come again.
“Huge debt…that I won’t be able to pay in my wh0le lifetime!” He muttered bitterly.

” The test result would be ready tomorrow.” Fred said to Cindy.
He was with Mimi..who was obviously not being to look at either Philip or Cindy in the face. Fred notice her uneasiness but ignored it.
” Alright. Thank you Fred.” Cindy said rising to her feet.
Fred walked to her and hugged her warmly.
Philip stood up quietly and left the office. Mimi was fidgeting on what to do.
“Should I tell him the truth or what do I do? My career is over if he get to know…” She thought as she was fighting back her tears.
After hugging her for some minutes, he let go of her and esc-rted her to her car.

“Sorry my daughter… but I think that’s the best.” Mrs Jenny said
“No… it’s not the best! You know how much I suffer to get that job!”
“I know. But I and your boss has discussed about it. You know your pregnancy has some ‘buts’ so please you need rest, adequate one ” Mrs Jenny said.
“No!!!? ” She scre-med heading upstairs angrily in tears.
