“I don’t love you.. I never did”

A long silence dragged on between them as they both stared at each other. He tried spilling the truth out but he couldn’t. Knowing she had been dating the one who killed her father, is going to tear her apart.

One thing he didn’t know that what he just said affected the lady in front of him greatly.

“Ray please don’t.. don’t do this” she took a sharp intake of breath.

“I’m serious Elsa, I never loved you” The word came out as a whisper. His head was spinning just with what he just said.

Elsa scoffed and nodded lightly.

“You’re such a bad liar” She muttered walking closer to him. Her face inches from him.

“You still don’t wanna tell me the truth, then fine. I tried my best. If I walk through that door.. you’ll regret greatly” Her eyes were already turning red. She was at the verge of crying but not a single one came out.

Raymond stayed mute. He digged his finger into his palm hurting himself.

She shifted back from him and slowly. Closing his eyes, it took every strength in him to drag her back and give her a hug but he doesn’t deserve it. No matter he did, his past will always hunt him. His world and hers was not the same.

Elsa kept on walking non stop. Her breath was shaky as she tried hard to breath. She wince in pain, her eyes hurts so much.

Spotting a bench outside a house she sat on it. The words he said replayed in her head driving her nuts.

Blinking severally her sight was getting blurr.

“Elsa” A voice called and she looked up just to see Jake standing with Charlie beside him.

“Oh shit, your eyes are red” Charlie ran towards her and squat before her.

Without a word, Jake knew his friend was behind this. He turned immediately and head towards the bar.

Raymond stood on his spot for minutes, The door flew opened and Jake entered the bar. His angry gaze land on Raymond. He went towards him and throw a hard punch on his face sending him to the ground.

“Shit, Jake” Ben tried to come in front of him.

“Get the f**k out of my way!” Jake barked going towards Raymond. He dragged him up and punch him again. Raymond lips got bursted as he spit out blood.

Raymond didn’t even bother dodging his attack since he knows he deserves it. He needed those punches.

Jake did the same thing over and over until Ben yelled ‘Stop!’ at him.

“She gave you everything Ray, is that how you’re going to repay her?! What the hell did you do!!!” He yelled as he watch Raymond sitting on the floor with bruise on his face.

Ben held Jake shoulder. “Can we talk outside and not here”

Jake gave Raymond a quick glance before storming out.

Ben told one of his guys to watch Raymond before going out with Jake.

“How could you let him do that?” Jake snapped.

“It was his choice. Elsa is Raider daughter” Ben said quickly.

Jake brow curved down greatly.

“What rubbish are you spurting? Are you trying to cover that bastard up?” Jake scoffed.

“No this legit. One of my bud saw Elsa when I and Raymond met after I got out of jail. He told me he once saw her picture with Raider then I made my research on her. She turns out to be his daughter”

“So you mean Ray killed Elsa’s father? And almost shot her too” Jake muttered.

“I guess you now know how he feels” Ben said.

They both went back in but Raymond could not be found.

“Where’s he?” Ben asked the person he asked to watch him but found a bruise on his face. He obviously received a punch from Raymond.

“I tried to stop him” the guy muttered.

“We’ve got to find him” Ben said storming out with Jake.

The sky suddenly roared as the sky began to leak.

Charlie tried to stop a car but non of them stopped.

Finally one stopped in front of them. The window wind down revealing Lucas.

“Get in” he said.

Mrs Brown gaze was outside the window as she stared at the rain pouring heavily outside.

She brought the cup of tea to her lips and took a sip. A blanket was wrapped around her Shoulder. Her mind was on how those two are doing. Why does the world have to be cruel on them?

Her doorbell sounded and she blinked severally, she wasn’t expecting any visitor.

Dropping her cup, she head towards the door to open it only to be shocked to see a tall guy.

Eyes red, hair messy and wet and he have the scent of alcohol and rain.

His eyes slowly close as he began to fall. She quickly caught him as he fall on her shoulder passing out instantly.

~NEXT MORNING.. MONTANAH HIGH~

Piper made to put the ball into the net but she missed.

“F**k!” She cursed breathing hard. This is the seventh time she is missing her goal. Something that had never happened before.

“Piper, what is wrong with? You seem to be not here” Her friend Lily asked.

She saw Mason and Miranda; the girl that kissed him the other day. They were both eating and smiling at each other. It was a disgusting scene to her.

“Sorry” Piper muttered holding her waist.

“Really, what’s with our champion today?” A girl who despised her stated.

“You wanna lose your pussy?” Piper flared up moving closer.

“What are you gonna do? Kick my ass? I’m not some other girls yunno?” The girl glared at her.

She was obviously taller than Piper but who cares. Piper doesn’t give a fuck.

“I bet you left your brain at home.. oh sorry.. you don’t have a Brain” Piper smirked.

“What did you say?” The girl made to slap her. Piper held her hand and gave her three resounding slap on the same cheek and kick her hard on her stomach. Blood came out from her lips.

The coach came in at that moment and gasped.

“Piper!!” She yelled and they all looked at her.

“In my office now!!”

In a luxury restaurant, Leonard was dressed in a retro suit that suit him perfectly. His gaze was on his father who was busy discussing with a calm looking lady with a brown curly hair. He bought his phone checking if Charlie replied to his message but she hasn’t.

Adjusting his tie, he walked towards his father.

“Son” Mr Miller smiled handsomely.

Leonard didn’t bother saying anything. He sat on the empty chair with them with a cold look on his face.

Rachel fell in love with his sight already. His yellow hair made him more handsome.

Mr Miller scoffed. “Aren’t you going to greet your bride to be?”

“She is not my bride to be, how many times do I have to say that?” He raised his cold gaze up.

Rachel smile disappeared.

“Even after meeting a beautiful girl like her you still want to be stubborn?”

Leonard take a quick look at her then look back at his father.

“I like slim girls with pink short hair, crazy and cheerful vibe, her smile could kill, a girl that love getting angry at every small mistakes you make” Leonard said fast.

He looked back at the girl. “She have none of it”

“Leonard!” Mr Miller yelled.

“I’m done here” Leonard muttered standing up to leave.

“Get back here Leonard!!”

~HOSPITAL~

Charlie palm were sweaty as she watch the doctor writing a note as he stared at sleeping Elsa.

Lucas was also beside her, he have a blank look on his face.

“Make sure nothing triggers her to cry it might cause blindness” The doctor informed.

“Blind?” Charlie blinked severally.

“Yes, try to make her happy” The doctor said leaving the place.

Piper rush down from the taxi and wear her bag properly before storming into the hospital.

“Elsa” she ran into the ward to check her out.

“She’s fine. Don’t wake. The doctor said she needs sleep to reduce the pain in her eyes” Charlie informed.

Piper gave Lucas a quick look but didn’t say anything.

“Pain, who the hell hurt her?” Piper asked Charlie coldly.

Ben and Jake also came in.

“We couldn’t find Raymond” Jake informed.

“Don’t tell me this is his doing” Piper raised her brow clinching her jaw hard.

~MRS BROWN.. APARTMENT~

“Take, you need it” Mrs Brown stretched a cup of coffee to the guy sitting on the couch with his arms folded. His face was paled like that of the dead with some bruise. He just woke up.

Raymond looked the other side indicating he doesn’t want.

Mrs Brown sighed, she dropped the cup on the table beside him and went to sit before him.

“I’m glad you came” she said with a lovely smile.

“I don’t wanna talk to you” he mumbled.

“Ironic”

“I can leave if you want” he snapped looking at her.

“So you decided to push her away?” She asked.

“You knew?” He frowned.

“She called to tell me about her story and how you were asking about her father, The scar on her left leg. Then I knew she was the girl you almost killed.. you showing up here, I can guess what happened” Mrs Brown explained.

“She deserves someone better” he muttered.

“And you’re not someone better?”

“I’m the worst”

“Look it’s okay to make mistakes, it’s okay to be sad, it’s okay to face the cruel world, it’s okay to cry, it’s okay to scream and fight, it’s okay to be happy with the one you love, it’s okay to doubt, it’s okay to curse the world. We are human, we are not perfect” Mrs Brown paused.

“What is not okay is for you to hate yourself. That’s the worst thing ever. It’s the worst torture a human can get”

Raymond took a sharp in take of breath.

“What are you implying?” He asked.

“Tell the truth. She needs to hear it” she replied.

“I can’t.. I mean I tried but I can’t” he voice came out shaky.

“She loves you, it might hurt but she will forgive you” she said.

Raymond chuckled looking at the floor.

“Yunno when the police dragged me out of that apartment. There were crowd outside calling me a murderer. The look on their faces, I can never forget them. The people I thought they would believe me held the same expression on their face. My whole world crumbled when the person I called my mother called me a bastard and monster”

A tear dropped out of his eyes.

“I grew up seeing them as my parent. They heard the news about Victoria and then they turn their back on me. It was the worst feeling ever. I’m scared the same thing would happen with Elsa. I’m scared to see that disgusting look on her face cus if I do.. I don’t think I’ll be able to handle it”

Mrs Brown went mute listening to his point.

“When she came to the bar, all I saw was hope and love for someone like me. That was the same look the people I called my parent had… The news came out and they look at me as if I’m a devil”

Mrs Brown shook her head as tears fell out of her eyes.

“Here I was thinking I’m going to find peace. The past is never going to stop hunting me right?”

Mrs Brown stood up immediately, went to sit beside him and hug his face.

“I’m so sorry Raymond” Mrs Brown muttered hugging him as he began to cry on her shoulder for minutes.

After a while, their crying died down.

“I’m gonna need that coffee now” Raymond spoke breaking the silence.

Mrs Brown gave it to him with a smile then watch him drink out of it.

“Good as always” Raymond muttered and they both chuckled.

“Elsa loves you more than how you think. Let it out and see if you are both meant for each other. I’m sure she’ll forgive you”

“What if she doesn’t?”

“You won’t know except you try but she will”

“You think so?” He asked.

“I know so Ray. Life doesn’t always give you what you want but it gives you what you need.. you just gotta figure out what that means for you.. You need Elsa.. she’s the only one that can make you whole” She said.

Raymond smiled dryly. “Make me whole, I like the sound of that. How do you make up all those quotes?”

“I don’t know, they just came. Maybe because I understand you better” she replied.

“I would have said I love you but I still haven’t forgiven you” He said.

“I can wait” she smiled.

He moved to kiss her head and stood up.

“I can do this” he sighed leaving the apartment.

He decided to call Ben.

“Dude where are you? You gat us worried” Ben asked.

“I was with Mrs Brown, Where’s Elsa?” he asked.

“Look Man I can’t tell you” Ben said.

“What do you mean you can’t tell me? What happened?” He frowned.

“Sorry man” Ben cut the phone call.

Raymond went to an app where he could trace the location of her phone. His eyes widened.

“Shit!”

In the hospital Piper was watching Elsa with Charlie and Lucas beside her.

“Thanks Prof for the ride and stay” Charlie said.

“My pleasure” Lucas muttered.

Piper had been quiet the whole time. She felt this strange vibe coming from Lucas.

They noticed a sudden movements from her and spranged up.

“Elsa” Charlie and Piper smiled going to her while Lucas only stood and watch.

“Where am I?” She asked. Her eyes was a little bit red but it was better.

“Hospital, Lucas bought you here” Charlie replied patting her head.

Elsa eyes went towards Lucas but couldn’t say anything.

A noise made them turned their gaze to the door.

“Get off me I need to see her!” She heard a familiar voice.

“I did not come here for you to tell me to leave so get the fuck out of my way!!”

“Elsa!” The voice came again and the door flew opened revealing Raymond breathing hard.

“Hey Elsa” he called lightly going close to her.

“Go away!!” Elsa yelled, he sat up shaking her legs then look the other side.

Raymond halt with his lips parted, she wasn’t even looking at him. It was as if he disgust her.

Jake grabbed his collar. “You need to leave Ray this isn’t a good time” he said to the guy whose eyes was on Elsa.

“Leave” Charlie walk close to Raymond all she could feel was anger.

Raymond eyes widened the more seeing Lucas.

But he wasn’t they only one who was shock because Lucas standing posture revealed the scar on his neck and Piper saw it.

“What the hell is he doing here?” Raymond muttered.

“If you love her, leave for now. She doesn’t want you here. Let’s go outside” Jake plead as he finally pulled him out of the ward.

Lucas felt the gaze on him and slowly turn his head to shocked Piper.

‘He have the same scar on his neck’ she thought remembering her encounter with Venom.

“Is everything alright?” Lucas asked with his deep voice. His aura changed.

Piper lips parted as she stammer.
