✍️ CHAPTER TITLE✍️: WHITE-FRAMED LIES!

Her eyelashes blinked constantly after she speechlessly snapped her head towards the door.
She gulped down nothing below her throat when her eyes ran into Andromeda’s.

Andromeda stood still by the door with one of her palm holding her jaw. “Who were you talking about?” She inquired before stepping a foot inside the room.

“I_ I_ why did you barge into my room without knocking?” Vera wordlessly snapped.
She doesn’t know how to get out of this but, she needs to do something immediately, and that’s to distract Andromeda.

“This is not the first time that I am doing that! Also, the door was partly opened, was I supposed to knock even with that?” Andromeda moved closer to her with Jack in her free hand.

“Don’t bring that thing into my room or closer to me!” Vera complained.
“Her name is Jack, not that thing!” She corrected mockingly before having a sit, opposite Vera on the couch.

“Whatever, just take it out of my room,” Vera instructed irritatedly.
“After which you’ve told me about who’s going to be yours, why won’t we leave?” Andromeda answered harmlessly, which made Vera restless.

“Wh_what are you talking about? When did I say that?” She stuttered nervously on her words.

“Showing all over your face and eyes that you are lying. Quit trying to fake something here or getaway, because I heard you.” Andromeda informed.

“If you still want to deny it, then I won’t mind placing Jack on your breast! after all, she hasn’t been with her mother in a long time.”
“I will make her feed on your milk.” She threatened.
She stood up and started going closer to Vera with the little creature in her hand.

“I will tell you! Just take that away from me, else I would die!” She pleaded, so as not to collapse.

Vera hates the sight of it, and if Andromeda is going to drop it on her body, she would die right away.
Andromeda smiled in victory then she resumed back to have a seat on the couch, opposite Vera again.
Vera pondered fearfully before matching over to the bed. Even the happiness which she felt earlier has disappeared, all accolades to Andromeda.

“I’m eagerly waiting to listen, to the beautiful story of love,” she teased while playing with the puppy’s head.
Later on, she placed the puppy on her lap and then crossed her legs against one another.
That’s always her best way to sit.

“I was thinking about England.” She reluctantly said. Firstly quiet, then Andromeda glared at her in confusion.
“England is going to be your prince charming? It will be yours forever?” She chuckled softly at Vera’s foolishness.

“I was referring to meeting a prince charming, the one who will be mine forever. I might fall in love with someone over there and he will be my lucky star and mine.” She stated all her words in a row.

“I must have been expected to believe your white-framed lies?” She replied sarcastically.
“You haven’t gotten over Damien and now, you are telling me about meeting a prince charming! What is happening to your brain?” She yelled.
“Perfectly alright, and I’ve stopped thinking about Damien.” She nagged without making eye contact with her.
“That should be good news, I can remove all of those from this room then.”
“After all, another prince charming will soon be gotten, right? ” She placed the puppy carefully on the couch, and without waiting for Vera to speak, she walked closer to the painters hung on the wall, as she was ready to remove it all.

Vera gasped, and in a jiffy, she had already gotten closer to Andromeda, to stop her from doing anything to them.

“Please let them be. Don’t remove them please!” Vera begged anxiously.
Andromeda turned around then smiled in victory, her guess has been proven right, Vera lied to her earlier.

“I guessed that… Do you see? I just exposed your lies. I’m not intending on touching them already. Just tell me the truth Vera, and stop playing around like a toddler. I hate it when you lie to me!” She ranted after which she picked her sleepy puppy up.

Vera bites her lips rapidly. She’s into this and she knows. She’s tired of lying to Andromeda and doesn’t want to lie to her anymore.
What is to do? She can’t simply tell Andromeda that she’s going to live with Damien as a Butler.
She wouldn’t have wanted to tell Andromeda that she isn’t going to England as she claimed.

The situation is too critical for her to think of what to do or concluding presently.
But one thing is sure, she wouldn’t tell Andromeda about any of what she’s up to. Not yet, not now.

“I will tell you the truth someday, but for now, please allow it to be personal. I don’t have the bravery to tell you what the truth is now,and I don’t think you can handle it.” she managed to say in silence.
Indeed she is tired of lying to Andromeda again.
“Why won’t you want to tell me now? Have you started keeping secrets?” She disappointedly nagged.
“I can’t tell you about this now, I will tell you everything when I am back from England. I promise,” Vera pleaded.

“You are leaving for England tomorrow. Are you happy remembering that I am not going with you? You won’t miss me?” Andromeda asked with tears in her eyes already.

“How would I? I’m missing you already and seeing you weeping like a puppy makes your puppy scared to look at you.” Vera joked and eyed the puppy that has closed his eyes together.
Andromeda chuckled after gawking at the puppy.
She presently wants to cry out loud and yell at Vera for leaving her but couldn’t have done that now.
“I will be back soon! Pray for my journey to be successful.” Vera winked at her emotionally too.

“Why have you come here? Do you want to spend the night with me?” Vera asked after she finished wiping the tear off her eyes.

“I came here because father and mother are calling for you, get dressed in better wear and come out.”
“It’s bed time already, Is father upset? I’m afraid to see him.” Vera muttered.
“He wants to discuss about your travelling. Go now before he sleeps,” she advised.
“I will go. What about you? Will you spend the night with me?” Vera eagerly asked.
“You’ve always quarreled with me whenever I want to spend the night here, but now you are asking me consistently! That is strange.” Andromeda answered.
“I don’t want you going back to your room. You can cry all night long and that will make you ugly,” Vera teased.
Andromeda chuckled softly after hissing at her.
“I will be back… Stay here and don’t go anywhere.”

Damien remained awake while watching Annabel sleeping on the bed beside him.
B “You need to go home, she won’t come around now,” the doctor said to him but just as usual, he didn’t bother to reply.

Smith looked at him for a while before saying. “I will advise you to avoid letting her know things that will hurt her, or stress her henceforth. She’s just recovering, this is part of the reason why she hasn’t been discharged yet.”

“Why is she not awake yet? Did you inject her with anything that can make her sleep for a long time?” Damien asked instead in a husky tone.
“She’s unconscious, and I can’t say how long it will take for her to come around. We should just hope that she comes around soon.” He shrugged his shoulder cluelessly.

“So, she will go into coma again? Are you useless? Are you not a doctor? That must have been known to you!” Damien snapped irritatedly.

“You are her brother, you should have known better not to stress her!” He replied.
“So now I’m at fault? You can’t do your job properly and you want to blame me now?” Damien yelled at him.

Smith was quiet for a moment. He contemplated on what to say and being the gentleman that he is, he finds running mouth with Damien’s joblessness.
Damien is frustrated presently and it’s his usual self to put his anger on anything when angry.
“Check on her after one hour, and make sure to change her drip when it finishes. Call me if there’s any emergency.” He instructed the nurse that was present in the room with them.

After checking Annabel’s pulse again, he stared briefly at Annabel’s face and without speaking to Damien who was ready to yell him, Smith walked out of the ward.
