★ Confession ★

“Marry me” Frederick said suddenly and that got her starring at him.

“You must be joking right?” She asked laughing out loud.

“Am….”

“I know that you are trying to pull my leg and am not going to fall for it. Let’s go back to the office, lunch will be over soon” she said going into the car.

“But am saying the truth” he muttered as he went to join her in the car.

JUPITER COLLEGE

Brianna rushed into the cafeteria heading to the spot she always sit with her friends,Tracy and Stella.

“Am sorry guys, I was held up in the library and….” She stop talking when she noticed the three guys with them.

“Surprised right! Well Kelvin and his friends had no place to stay and so they chose to share ours” Tracy informed when she saw the confused look on Brianna face.

Brianna knew of the three guys reputation in school, most especially the one called Kelvin.

They are lazy when it comes to class, they date and dump girls like they change their clothes.

Brianna hates their kind and that’s why she has never befriended any one of them and since her friends think the same thing with her, they also distanced themselves but suddenly having them at their seat when other girls will be wishing for their company got Brianna losing her appetite.

“Hi, Am Kelvin” Kelvin said earning her attention while her two other friends talked to his friends.

“Aren’t you going to even reply?” Kelvin asked.

“You were invited by my friends, so talk to them and ignore me” Brianna replied coldly which brought a smile on Kelvin face.

“So you don’t consider me to be your friend?” Kelvin asked even as the other students stared at them.

“You are the last person I will consider to be my friend” Brianna replied hotly.

“Why?”

“Do I need to give you my reason?” She asked in return too.

“You really are a tough one” Kelvin admitted.

“Do you think I will be amongst those girls who drool over you?” Brianna asked.

“No. I know you are different and probably that’s why I decided to approach you today. Give me your number” he said giving her his phone.

Instead of giving her number like he wanted her to, she took a picture of him.

“Have a look at it and see how ugly you look when you ask for a girl’s number, Jerk!” She said before leaving her seat and since their friends witnessed the whole thing, Brianna friends went after her while Kelvin friends kept laughing.

NIGHT TIME ~ TIFFANY’S HOME

Tiffany was getting ready for her evening with Frederick’s grandma when Kelvin walk into her room.

“You startled me! Have told you to always knock” Tiffany said throwing a sofa pillow at him.

“And have told you to share whatever secret you have with me. I won’t say a thing to anyone ” Kelvin replied catching the pillow she threw.

Letting out a sigh, he jump on her bed while Tiffany focus in putting her make up.

“Going out with a guy?” Kelvin asked.

“If you are only going to quiz me then I suggest you get lost” Tiffany replied.

“Fine then. I came to ask you some thing”

“Ask away ” Tiffany said now putting on her lip gloss.

“How do I approach a girl who doesn’t like me?” Kelvin asked and that got her turning to stare at him.

“Out of the trillion girls who fall at your feet, one of them doesn’t like you?” Tiffany asked and Kelvin nodded.

“I tried collecting her number but she told me that am ugly. Don’t you dare laugh!” Kelvin warned Tiffany who held back her laughter.

“She definitely doesn’t like you but if you show her your sincerity and how much you care for her, her heart is going to soften towards you” Tiffany said which got him sitting up.

“Will that really work?”

“It will but tell me…are you really serious about this girl? I don’t want you messing around with some one’s daughter ” Tiffany said.

“What do you take me for! Am a typical gentle man and besides I….really am interested in this girl” he replied getting off the bed.

“Fine then. Get out, I need to finish getting dress” she said turning back to the mirror.

“I suddenly feel scared” Kelvin let out softly.

“Why?”

“Cause I think you are going to kill someone’s son with that zero figure of yours ” Kelvin said poking his tongue at her before dashing out of her room.

“Some day am gonna kill that boy” Tiffany growled out in anger.

Frederick was waiting by his car on the other side of Tiffany’s street when he heard a clattering of heels.

He looked up to see a dashing Tiffany running towards him.

He was lost starring at her figure which clung perfectly to the white knee length gown she wore and she also had make up on which made her look more beautiful.

“Sorry I kept you waiting for long. I was trying to get my junior brother off my back” Tiffany explained smiling brightly and that got Frederick feeling lost.

“It’s okay. Waiting for you is definitely worth it” he muttered the last part to himself even as he open the car door.

They were onto the main street when he asked.

“You said earlier that you were trying to get your junior brother off your back”

“Yes. He insisted on coming with me, so he can see who am going out with” Tiffany explained.

“He must be very caring”

“Caring! Definitely not” She exclaimed and that got him smiling at the expression on her face.

“I heard you have a sister too?” Tiffany said.

“Yes. She’s the quiet and shy type but definitely crazy when thwarted” he replied.

“If you know about my sister then you must have been digging around about me” he added and that got her looking at him in guilt.

“Am sorry, I was just trying to know more about you Incase your grandma asked me a personal question but you don’t have to worry since there isn’t much info about you on the internet” Tiffany stated.

“Am Frederick by name, Thirty years of age, if grey can be described as a favourite colour then it is mine. I love playing tennis when I have nothing to do and I love reading during my spare time, I….”

“What are you doing ?” Tiffany asked cutting him off.

“Filling you in on the details about me” Frederick replied.

“You don’t have to”

” Don’t worry, it’s not a problem and besides I want you to know everything about me” he said his voice growing intimate which got Tiffany starring at him.

He stopped the car when they got into a big estate.

He came to open the door for her and slowly she got out of the car.

“Are you nervous?” Frederick asked

“How did you know that?”

“You always chew your bottom lip whenever you are nervous” he stated and that got her nodding.

“I must have chewed off my lip gloss” she murmured wanting to pull out her glass from her bag but he stopped her.

“Your lip gloss is perfect. You don’t have to change a thing'” he said standing in front of her.

“Do you know what you must do to stop being nervous?” He asked taking hold of her hand.

“I don’t”

“Love me” he said softly which got her starring at him with her eyes wide open.

“While we are in there with my grandma, act like am the only guy in your life, the only one you’ve ever love, the only one you will ever love” he said with all seriousness that it rendered Tiffany speechless for a while.

“We can’t do that. Remember that we are going to tell your grandmother the truth tonight” she said.

“I know but we don’t have to do that tonight. Let’s save it for some other time and act like a couple in front of her” he suggested.

“Follow my lead and nothing will go wrong” he added when she tried to refuse.

Together they went in and expecting their butler to let them in, he was surprised to see his grandma waiting for them.

“Am so glad you are here” Cassandra said giving Tiffany a kiss on the cheek.

“Your house is lovely” Tiffany complimented.

“Really? I actually did the decor myself”

“No wonder I thought it to be exquisite as soon as I walk in. You certainly are the best when it comes to decorating a room” Tiffany said with her thumb up and that got Cassandra laughing.

“You sure do know how to make some one feel good. Let’s go in” Cassandra said taking hold of Tiffany arm while they walked in.

Frederick was happy seeing the two woman he love getting along perfectly.

“What about Brianna?” Frederick asked as they got to the dinning room.

“She’s having a sleep over at her friends place” Cassandra replied as the maid brought in their food.

“Don’t you think she’s too young to sleep in someone else home?”

“She’s not and you were much younger than her when you started sneaking out to go out with Lucas for night parties. I always had to send the guards to look for him” Cassandra said to Tiffany who couldn’t hold back a smile.

“You don’t have to tell her that” Frederick muttered feeling embarrassed.

“What! Am just saying the truth” Cassandra said as the maid finished putting down the dishes.

“Is this all Rosetta?” Cassandra asked the maid who nodded in return.

“But what about the beef soup, it’s the highlight of tonight’s dinner”

“I didn’t cook it since you didn’t add it amongst the list of food you wanted me to cook” Rosetta replied.

“I can go and cook it now and….”

“It’s okay, just go back to do your thing” Cassandra replied having a sad look on her face.

“It’s not the end of the world even if we don’t eat the beef soup” Frederick said as he picked up his cutlery to eat.

“That’s easy for you say” Cassandra snap at him.

“Is the beef stew important for tonight’s dinner?” Tiffany asked.

“It is since it’s one of my grandma’s favorite dish, she hardly eats if there’s no beef soup” Frederick explained and Tiffany turn to Cassandra, a smile on her face.

“If you don’t mind, I can help you cook the beef soup” Tiffany said which got Cassandra face lighting up in joy.

“Really?”

“Am amongst the chef in Frederick company and also am crazy about beef soup ” Tiffany replied.

“Am glad to know we have some thing in common. Come with me dearest and I will show you what to do” Cassandra said as she led Tiffany towards the kitchen.

A while later Cassandra and Frederick stood by the kitchen door way watching Tiffany as she prepared the beef soup.

“That girl of yours is charming” Cassandra murmured.

“I know ” Frederick replied his gaze on Tiffany.

“Hope you’ve claimed her as yours?” She asked.

“Still working on it” Frederick replied when immediately she slap him on the arm.

“Like seriously! She’s suppose to be wearing your ring, do you want some one else to steal her away?” Cassandra asked.

“Of course not”

“Then be quick to put a ring in that finger of hers, I want her to be the girl you get married to” Cassandra declared.

“I totally agree with you on that” Frederick replied, his gaze still on the Tiffany who was busy cooking the beef soup.

A while later, after answering an important call, he went back to the sitting room only to see Tiffany and his grandma talking softly and judging by the blush on Tiffany’s face, his grandma must be telling her some thing naughty.

“What are you telling her” Frederick asked as he pulled Tiffany into his arms startling her.

“Some thing you already know” Cassandra replied.

“What?”

“Well, I said that am letting you two leave early because I want you guys to have a steamy night together, it’s about time that I get to hold my great grandchild” she said winking at Frederick.

“You could have said it to me alone, don’t you know how shy Tiffany is” Frederick said pulling her more close to him.

“Are you the shy type Tiffany?”

“Of course not. Am not shy, am just taken aback by the way you put it” Tiffany replied obviously feeling shy.

“Am glad to know you aren’t feeling shy since it’s some thing that is bound to happen between you two” Cassandra said making the both of them feel uncomfortable.

“We will get going ” Frederick said taking hold of Tiffany’s hand.

“Okay. See you again Tiffany and don’t forget to have that steamy night ” Cassandra yelled after them as they made their way out of the house.

TIFFANY’S HOME

Tiffany was smiling when he stopped the car.

“What’s funny?” Frederick asked as he switch off the ignition to stare at her.

“It’s the steamy night thing. Your grandmother is so funny” she replied softly.

“She really thinks we are dating each other” Frederick replied.

“And that’s why we’ve got to tell her the truth so she would stop pairing us together”

“But I don’t want that” Frederick statement got her starring his way.

“It’s what we have to do, we can’t keep decieving her ” Tiffany stated.

“And that’s why I asked you to marry me” he said having that serious look on his face again.

Tiffany looked away thinking of a reply to give him.

“You and your jokes. You are no different from my brother who keep messing with my head. It’s getting late,I will go home now, good night ” she said as she got out of the car.

She was about making a turn when he called her.

Turning, she watch him walk the few distance that separate them and pulling her to him, he kissed her.

Tiffany was startled by the kiss which got her pushing him away.

“Why did you do that? There’s no one around for us to put on a show” she said referring to their fake agreement

“Can’t you get the hint?” Frederick asked softly.

“What hint?”

“Am attracted to you ” he confessed which got her eyes opening in shock.

“Attraction is an understatement. Have fallen for you, Tiffany” he added while she kept starring at him without saying a thing.

“I know you must be startled by my confession but I couldn’t hold it in. I love you and I want us to get married ” he said, moving towards her but she took a step back.

“I…I…I …have to go ” she stuttered as she turn to leave but the next thing he said got her stopping mid way.

“Am leaving for a three day business trip but when I come back, I hope I get your answer ” he said.

Not bothering to give him a reply, she walked off leaving Frederick starring after her.
