∆ OUTDOOR BASKETBALL COURT ∆

As soon as the players marched out, every one who came to watch began screaming out, well apart from Joanna who stood beside Mirabel and Alice who were busy screaming out their names.

“That’s my babe!” Mirabel yelled out just as Nicholas blew a kiss at her.

Joanna felt relieved that at least that her friend is back together with Nicholas.

Just then she saw Francis walk out and she couldn’t help but to notice how handsome he looked, more handsome than the others.

The refree blew the whistle and the game began.

Francis whose thought was occupied kept missing the ball though they were times that he won for their team but what Justin said still kept bothering him.

The ball kept being passed around and though Theo, Nicholas and Pierce did their best in passing the ball around while Justin’s team kept coming at them.

The ball was passed to Francis and while he played it to the enemy’s post Justin was waiting there for him, ready to block his path.

“You aren’t going to win this one” Justin muttered to him.

“Watch me win” Francis murmured in reply and when he threw up the ball to the net, Justin flew up and hit it back making the ball bounce back.

And immediately a player from Justin team siezed the ball and threw it right into the net and at that moment the refree blew his whistle signifying that the match is over which gave victory to Justin school.

Francis stood alone taking huge deep breaths when Justin came to him.

“We won, so I don’t have to listen to you” Justin said with a smirk before walking off.

Joanna’s gaze was on Francis who had a sad expression on his face.

Her heart went out to him and wanting to make him feel good, she left her current position and went in search of him in the changing room where he must have gone to.

Since she couldn’t go in, she brought out her phone to give him a text when Justin took hold of her hand and pulled her into a hug.

At first she was startled by his action and stood immobile in his arms but when she saw Francis walk out of the changing room, she quickly pulled away from him.

“Francis I….” Joanna didn’t get to finish her sentence because he walked away leaving her there with Justin.

She was about going after him when Justin took hold of her hand.

“Can we get some thing to eat, am famished” he said just as his stomach made a loud grumbled.

Reluctantly she agreed and went with him to the cafeteria where he was appraised by some of the students there for his performance during the game.

Though it took a while, they finally went to their table where they munch on a hamburger and a cold cola.

“You must be wondering why I hugged you earlier?” He asked suddenly.

“Well truth be told, have fallen in love with you. You’ve captured my heart right from the beginning and am crazily in love with you” he admitted.

Joanna didn’t know what to say, she had been hoping for another reason but hearing him tell her he love her got her feeling weird.

Fighting for composure, she fixed a slow smile on her face and stared at him.

“To be honest am flattered by your words and believe me that a lot of girls will be dying to be in my place right now but I…..”

“But you aren’t one of the girls ” Justin finished for her and she nodded in return.

“I already have a boyfriend, some one who I love deeply. Am sorry but I just can’t reciprocate your feelings for me” she told him.

“I already know that. Francis is the guy you love right?” He asked and she nodded.

“But you guys seem on the edge of a break up” he added.

“Did it seem that way to you?” She asked and he nodded.

“To be sincere we got into a fight but not on the edge of a break up like you say. I can’t imagine life without Francis and even though we do end up breaking up, I can’t see myself with another guy” she finished softly.

“What if I still don’t want to give up on you ?” He asked.

“Then I will keep on rejecting you until You’ve realise that am not the girl for you”

“And that’s because you love your boyfriend right?” Justin asked and she nodded slowly.

“You know you are the first girl who have refused me. Am used to getting my way and no girl have ever reject me but then…..am envy of Francis,he truly has a gem ” Justin said sipping his cola.

“Thanks but I think am the one who is lucky to have him in my life ” She said glad that Justin understood and isn’t planning on pursuing her which she knew would be a headache for everyone.

“So are you coming to the after party tonight?” He asked and she nodded.

~ AFTER PARTY ~

Alice could be seen dancing with a guy whose look on her body made it clear that he wanted her.

She had met him the other night at the party and had been enchanted by his determination to get her to date him.

She didn’t like the way he approached her but she did like that he fancied her and was doing his utmost best in getting her attention.

She was still dancing when she noticed Pierce starring at them a distance away.

He had an angry look on his face and that got her looking away from him, she felt like she’s been caught doing some thing bad when she’s only trying to find her prince charming.

“Is some thing wrong?” Bobby asked.

“Nothing is, can we get out of here?” She said and immediately Bobby complied walking her out of the hall which the party was being celebrated.

They didn’t make it far because Pierce got to them.

“We’ve got to talk” he said to Alice.

“I don’t have any thing to say to you” she replied softly.

“Well I do have some thing to say and….”

“Hey dude! Stop bothering us and go find some one else to bug” Bobby said and a fight would have ensued between the two if Alice hadn’t chose that moment to butt in.

“Stop it Pierce. Why you being a hindrance just when am trying to find the right guy for myself, you said you don’t like girls like me, so why are you doing this?” Alice asked.

“That’s because I…..” He didn’t get to finish his sentence because a girl intruded.

“Pierce honey, let go dance” The girl said starring up at Pierce adoringly.

He had met her here and trying to get Alice out of his head, he had payed her more attention which has got her thinking he wanted to have a relationship with her which is some thing he didn’t want cause the girl whom he wants right now is hanging out with a jerk, Pierce thought as he tried to pull out of the girl hold but Alice next word made him stop.

“You better see to your girlfriend cause am quite busy with my boyfriend” she said and with that she walked off with Bobby.

“Who is she?” The girl asked Pierce.

“No one, let’s go in” Pierce said going into the club with the girl and unknown to him, Alice heard his last sentence even when she had walk far with Bobby.

Due to the info she got, Joanna got into the hotel elevator which took her to the rooftop where Nicholas had told her Francis would be.

The elevator door swish open and she got out searching frantically for Francis but there was no sign of him.

Ever since her conversation with Justin, she has been looking for him, wanting to talk to him but he had made himself scarce and even when he was at the party, she didn’t know where to find him.

She was about to leave when she heard some one yell out loudly.

“Am sorry!”

Trailing the familiar voice, she saw Francis standing by the railing while gazing up at the night sky.

“Am sorry Joanna! When will you forgive me” he kept yelling at no one in particular while Joanna stood watching.

“I know it was wrong of me to doubt you but I regret it and I…..I miss you so much” he said softly now but she could still hear him.

“Justin is a jerk and he won’t ever love you the way I do! So don’t you ever think of leaving me for him cause I won’t accept” he yelled out again and she couldn’t help but to smile.

“I love you! I will never doubt you and I will always trust you till eternity. Have learnt my mistake and I hope you forgive me ” he said more slowly before picking up his phone.

“If I send her this message, will she forgive me or would it be best to talk to her?” He said starring at his phone.

Joanna knew it was time to make him aware of her presence and so she did by speaking to him in her mind and immediately that got him spinning around.

“So you heard that?” She asked moving towards him while he pocket his phone.

“How could I not? You practically heard every thing I said” Francis muttered remembering what she said to him in her mind.

★YOU KNOW, AM RIGHT BEHIND YOU★ she had spoken to him with her thoughts which had got him starring at her.

“Isn’t that recording for me?” Joanna asked.

“But you heard it” Francis said.

“So won’t you tell it to my face? You were screaming it at the night sky when you were suppose to say it to me” Joanna injected which got him starring at her.

“Am sorry. Am sorry I doubted you,I was a fool for doing that and it took seeing you with Justin to make me realise that I was losing a precious gem” Francis said.

“You know Justin had also referred to me as a gem” she said softly.

“Really, What else did he tell you?” Francis asked.

“That he’s interested in me and would like to date me” Joanna said expecting him to flare up with jealousy but surprisingly he controlled himself.

“And what did you say?” He asked.

“That I love you and that am the most luckiest girl on earth to have you” she said which earned her a smile from him.

“Do you know that you are the most enchanting girl friend on earth?” He asked.

“I didn’t know that but if you keep telling me then I will get used to it ” she said even as he pulled her close while she wrap her arms around his neck.

“You have no idea how much have missed you” he muttered.

“And do you think it’s been easy for me?” She asked kissing him on the cheek.

“You drive me nuts, you are other half, the girl am crazy about and the only one I will ever love. Don’t ever leave me again, Don’t!” He muttered while she nodded.

“Kiss me, have missed your kisses” she whispered that to him and immediately he did as she command.

The two couple stood kissing each other oblivious to everything around them and just content to be in each other arms. Trying to catch up on the time they’ve spent apart.

∆ NEXT DAY ∆

Francis ran past some of the students who were heading to the bus, since the tournament is over everyone is ready to leave well except some one who called him just a while ago.

Francis thought as he made his way to Pierce tent.

As soon as he got there, he wasn’t quick in noticing Pierce and when he did it was to find him crouched on the floor while he had his hands over his face.

“What’s wrong buddy?” Francis asked kneeling in front of his friend.

Pierce looked up at him with a troubled gaze.

“I….I don’t know….I….I woke up….I woke up to…..”

“Easy, take a deep breath and tell me what’s going on again” Francis said.

“Look behind you?” Pierce said and immediately Francis turn around only for his jaw to drop when he saw the scene in front of him.

Every single object in the room was standing on air even to the tiny piece of paper.

“What’s wrong with me?” Pierce asked which got Francis starring at him.

Pierce power is to lift things into air and also people, Francis thought.

His feet was no longer on the floor and he was on air with the other things flying around the room.

Pierce power is freaking awesome Francis thought even as he stared at his friend.
