📚Chapter Twenty one📚

“You shouldn’t have done what you did last night”.Belle suddenly said bashfully.

We were in the kitchen now and Belle was assisting me in cooking.It was last night we k-ssed and since then none of us talked to each other.I was feeling embarrassed and I guess she felt that way too.

“Yeah”.I replied slowly,my eyes not meeting hers.After the k-ss last night,I was kind of avoiding eye contact with her.Gosh! I felt so shy..

Come on! I was the one that k-ssed her.Geez! Why couldn’t I control the stupid urge? I couldn’t even sleep at night after we k-ssed and when I finally slept,I saw us k-ssing in a dream.Ah!

“Hmm,Lin you remember am a princess right?”.She asked and I nodded feeling a shiver run down my spine.I can’t believe I almost forgot who she is.

“Yes”.I said and began frying my fries.I was making ham and fries..

Actually,I went to withdraw some money in my account from the bank this morning and I used them to buy lots of foodstuffs enough for this week.I don’t want the little quarrel i had with Belle to happen again.

“Well,according to the laws of the kingdom, a princess is forbidden to k-ss any other person except the one she is betrothed to and now,I feel like have broken one of the laws”.She said and I rolled my eyes.

“Such a stupid rule! And who is your betrothed if I may ask?”.I said and she frowned.

“He is prince Gary from the ice lands”.She said and I chuckled slightly.

“He must be handsome”.I muttered and she smirked.

“I bet,Gary is as ugly and disgusting as a rotted animal”.She scoffed and I laugh hærd after seeing her expression.

Ha! She looks so funny..

“Laugh all you want Lin but am serious here,a sight of him kills thousands of flies instantly.The first day I saw him,I almost puked”.She rasped and I smiled,putting a stop to my laughter.

“I guess you hate him”.I said and she nodded.

“More than you can ever imagine”.She added and I chuckled a bit

“So..what do you mean by the ice lands? Where is your kingdom located?”.I asked,feeling she might answer.

“I don’t know where my kingdom is located but I do know know is not in this planet.The ice lands is actually a kingdom full of ice,snow rain there everyday and the place is so cold”.She paused,taking a deep breath.

“Prince Gary is the first son of the king’s second wife.He is cold hearted,mean and selfish.He is so wicked and most people from the ice lands hates him.He is a rude jerk”.She added with a deep frown.

She really hates him…but why? Why should a person like Belle even get betrothed to a person like Gary??

“So can you tell me why you came to earth?”.I asked but she shook her head.

“I…can’t tell you about it now”.She said with a sad smile on her l-ips and i nodded.

“Okay then”.I said and took a tomato to slice but she held the knife.

“I should help you with that,you have done enough already”.She said and my mind flashed back to the day the knife slide through her fingers and how the wound close up.

Seriously,I still feel scared when I remember that and now she wants to cut.What if she accidentally cut herself? How would I feel if I see the wound close up?Oh..I can’t imagine how am gonna feel.

I took my eyes away as she cut the tomatoes and when she was done,she handed it to me.

After bathing and dressing up for work and walked downstairs to eat breakfast.I got to the dining room and as expected,Belle was waiting for me.

“Wow,Lin.You look so handsome”.She complemented me and my cheeks heat up.

A lot of people have complemented my looks but this coming from Belle is making me feel on top of the world.

Not like I was wearing anything special – just a dull bluish shirt and sky blue short and blue sneakers.

“Thanks Bel”.I said and she smiled before I sat on a seat.

“Um..Lin”.She called and I glanced at her.

“About the unexpected k-ss we had…i really wanna say something about it but I feel so embarrassed to say it”.She said and I shrugged.I feel embarrassed too.

“Say it,Bel”.I coaxed and she nodded,rubbing her palms together.

“Well Lin…”.She took her eyes to the floor shyly.

“You stole my first k-ss”.

“First k-ss?”.I asked guiltily and she nodded.

“Yes Lin,wasn’t it your first k-ss too?”.She asked but I shook my head.

“Nope,it was my second k-ss”.I said and her expression changed.She looked hurt..

“Who took your first k-ss? Your girlfriend right?”.She asked,rolling her eyes with looked dull.

“It wasn’t my girlfriend,it was my crush back in highschool.We bumped into each other and our l-ips accidentally touched”.I said.

“I think that isn’t a k-ss”.She scowled and I immediately felt confused.

“What do you mean?”.

“Your l-ips touched but you both didn’t feel anything”.She said and i chuckled.

“Belle,it doesn’t matter if we felt anything or not,our l-ips touched okay? I don’t know why but am having this feeling that you are trying to assure yourself that it wasn’t a k-ss”.I said and she turned to her food looking so sad.

“Am sorry..”.She muttered.

“No,it’s okay”.I said and began eating too and when I finished,i stood on my feet.

“I will leave now Bel”.I said,about to walk away but she stopped me.

“Can I ask you a question?”.She asked and I nodded.

“Well,i don’t know why i felt angry when you told me another girl took your first k-ss.I suddenly felt like ripping out the girl’s hair till she turns bald and also, punching her till she faints.Do you know what that feeling is?”.She said and I gasped.

I guess that is jealousy but why is she jealous?

“It’s just jealousy,Bel”.I said and she gave a nod before I left the house.

I got to the restaurant and went to the changing room to change.I changed into my waiter outfit before I began attending to customers but someone blocked my way.

“Um,Lincoln..”.Madeline said shyly.She works here as a waitress and she recently confessed to me that she likes me.I was surprised but then I told her that I didn’t like her,she was disappointed though.

She isn’t ugly,she got a very nice look but I don’t know why I couldn’t like her the way she wants to..

“What’s it Madeline?”.I asked and she blushed.

“The restaurateur sent for you”.She beamed and I just nodded.

Why do boss want to see me? Have I done anything wrong?

“Before you leave Lincoln,I want to say something too”.She said and I smiled a bit.

“Yeah,go on!”.I said.

“Will you go on a date with me?”.She asked.

Am not surprised,this isn’t the first time she is asking me thus but the fourth.

“No Madeline,I have a party to attend to tonight”.I said and she nodded disappointedly.

“Oh! I will get back to work now”.She said sadly and hurriedly walked away.

I didn’t mean to make her sad,I just don’t wanna go on a date with her.I don’t love her and I definitely don’t wanna be her boyfriend.

I got to boss office and knocked gently on the door.

“Come in!”.He said from in,side and I slowly walked in.

“You sent for me?”.I asked and he nodded.

“Yes,I did.Take a seat,Lincoln”.He said and I gasped before sitting on an arm chair.

I felt surprised he called my name,he had never for once called me by my name.

“Am really sorry for not paying you your complete salaries.I have been feeling guilty and I just can’t stop myself from doing what am about to do now”.He said and I smiled.

I can’t believe boss is apologizing to me,he have always been an arrogant person.

“This is all the salaries I haven’t paid you”.He said and handed me an envelope filled with dollar notes.

“Thanks boss”.I beamed,accepting it with joy.

“Am sorry for acting rude to you”. He apologized again.

“It’s okay,boss and thank you again”.I said.

“It’s my pleasure”.He said and I left his office with smiles.

I walked to a boutique while returning back from work just to get some clothes for Belle.I kind of thought mum’s clothes were oversized on her and she can’t just keep wearing those clothes.So..i need to get her some clothes that fits her.

I walked into the boutique and took a shopping basket before I began choosing some beautiful clothes for Belle.

“Um…where can I find the undergarments section?”.I asked a young lady besides me and she smiled.

“Am going exactly the same way,follow my lead”.She said and I followed after her.

I got to the section and i began choosing some beautiful undergarments for Belle and seriously,i felt shy.All those especially the girls who pass my side stare at me weirdly.

Gosh!

“Your wife is quite lucky to have a man like you”.The same Lady who directed me to the ladies undergarment section said.

“Am not married”.I said and she smiled.

“Then your girlfriend is lucky”.She said and I shook my head.

“I don’t have a girlfriend either”.

She gasped. “But you are selecting ladies undergarments, for who?”.

“A friend if mine,she stays with me”.I said and she nodded.

“Oh! She is really lucky to have a friend like you”.She said and I smiled. Of course,she is.

“What’s your name?”.She asked curiously.

“Lincoln”.I answered

“Mine is Abby,am engaged”.She said,showing me her finger with has a ring on it.

I scoffed. Their no need to show me her ring finger,why did she do that?

“Can we exchange contacts,please?”.She beamed and after few seconds i nodded,passing my phone to her.

I returned back to my house and went to my room to freshen up, after freshening up I took the shopping bags to Belle’s room.I found her sleeping and I smiled widely before keeping the bags on the floor.

Such a beauty! Her eyes were closed but I loved the way it shivered.Ah! I don’t know if I would take her along to the party but I definitely wouldn’t like her to stay at home alone tonight.She might feel bored..

“Lin,you are back!”.She squawked, sitting upright on the bed.

Oh! She is awake.

“Yes,am back”.I smiled and her gaze dropped on the shopping bags.

“What are these?”.She asked and stretched her hands to hold the bags.

“I bought them for you”.I said as soon as she removed the clothes from the bags.

“Wow! Thanks Lin,you bought the underwear too?”.She laughed embarrassedly as she saw some undergarments in one of the bag.

“Yep”.

“Thanks Lin,thanks so much”.She looked excited as she scanned the clothes.

“You are welcome,Bel”.I said and glanced at the wall clock in the room.The time was 7:17pm.

“You can check out of the clothes Bel,I will be in the kitchen”.I said.

“Okay Lin”.She said and i left her room.

I got to the kitchen and luckily,their was still some ham and fries left.I heated it and drank some juice from the fridge in the kitchen. I felt thirsty..

“Belle..”.I said when i saw her walking into the kitchen with a shy smile on her face.

“Uh…i needed to tell you something”.She said.

“Say it ,Bel.Don’t be shy”.I said and she gave a long sigh.

“I have been waiting to tell you this but i don’t want to bother you or make you think that i came here to spend your money”.She said and I rolled my eyes.

“What’s it Bel? You can tell me anything”.I said and she sighed again.

“Well,I need you to get me some sanitary pads”.
