Heights Of Deception (episode 4)
Do you know how it feels to be betrayed by someone you felt was your safety blanket? Someone you thought had your back as a spouse and would never do anything to hurt you; only to realise later on that you never meant anything to that person and was just being used all along. The pain and heartache you feel when you get betrayed by someone you had high hopes for, actually hits differently because you never saw the betrayal coming.
Kesha was utterly devastated by the invitation letter she found in her husband’s car. At that moment, there were so many thoughts in her mind as to why those doc-ments were in Dan’s possession. Despite the fact that she was fully aware of what the contents of those doc-ments meant, she still had a hærd time accepting the reality it entailed.
“What is going on here? What are these for? Where is Dan migrating to? This must be a joke I guess” Kesha said to herself as she wallowed in confusion. The magnitude of what that letter entailed was enough to send her to Coma. At that moment, she needed explanations but none was forth coming. Unable to bear the shock any longer, she quickly packed up the doc-ments and drove off.
On the ride home, Kesha couldn’t hold her emotions any longer. Tears began to effortlessly fall off her eyes as she tried to digest the sad reality that was in front of her. She knew that her husband was capable of many things but the fact that he was planning to migrate to another country without even informing her, was the height of everything.
Shortly after Kesha arrived home, she entered in,side and dialed Dan’s line because she was in need of prompt answers to the numerous question on her mind. The phone rang twice before he picked up.
“Hello babe, let me call you back, I am Busy!” Were the words that left Dan’s mouth before he ended the call. The cold manner at which he spoke to Kesha broke her heart the more.
All through that day, Kesha awaited Dan’s call but it wasn’t forth coming. She waited till evening but he never called back. Frustrated and devastated, she stayed up all night crying and praying to God to intervene in her marriage.
Despite the fact that Kesha knew her husband to be a womaniser, she was taken by surprise this time around because she never believed he was capable of such level of wickedness. Too bad!
All through that night, Kesha stayed awake because she couldn’t sleep. She sat up all night thinking about how best she could approach and deal with the present situation on ground. First thing the next day, she called Dan’s number but he didn’t pick up. After the fourth attempt, she received a text message from him which read; “I am in a meeting babe, would call you back”. Such reluctant and carefree attitude towards his own wife. Very sad!
Dan was scheduled to be back that day from his business trip so Kesha felt it was best she waited for him to return home. Those hours she waited for her husband’s call back, were one of the longest hours of her life. After several hours of waiting, he finally called her back.
“Hello babe, How are you doing?” Dan greeted, “I’m good. When are you coming back home?” Kesha bluntly asked, “This evening” he replied. Immediately Dan informed Kesha that he would be returning home later that day, she said ‘Ok’ and ended the call.
All fingers crossed as Kesha awaited Dan’s arrival; so as to unleash her anger and seek answers to the unanswered questions in her head. Throughout that day, she didn’t eat because there was no appetite for food. The only significant emotion that was present at that moment was ‘Rage’.
Just as scheduled and expected, Dan returned home at around 7pm. Immediately he entered the compound, he noticed that someone drove his car because it wasn’t parked at the location it was initially parked. Despite feeling a little uneasy about his car being tampered with, he let it slide and entered in,side the house.
Immediately Dan entered in,side, the first thing he saw was Kesha quietly sitting in the dark living room. The light weren’t turned on, but he could still see her due to the tiny lights that reflected from other electronic devices in the house.
The energy in the atmosphere gave Dan signal that something was wrong somewhere. When he turned on the lights, he was startled when he saw his wife. “Babe, why are you sitting in the dark?” Dan curiously asked but there wasn’t any response forth coming. Confused on what was going on, he walked towards his wife and stood in front of her. Before he could utter another word, Kesha broke the silence; “Who is Sharon and where are you migrating to?” She bluntly asked.
That question caught Dan off guard but this time around, he didn’t see the need to hide his dirty deeds or emotions.
Without hesitating, Dan squat in front of Kesha, smiled faintly and dropped a shocker; “I am leaving you!”
