Martin’s Pov:

I hung up immediately still jumping up and down in delight.

“What’s going on Martin? Did something happen?” Idris asked as I headed straight to the garage speedily.

“She is finally beautiful again and the bandage has been taken off her face” I said as we hopped into the car.

“Wait a second! What about Lucas? He went to the cafeteria to get himself a cold bottle of juice” Idris reminded me.

“He can find his way back home can’t he? Why should I worry about how he gets home?” I said as I ignited the car and drove out of the hospital.

“Who in actually are you talking about that is beautiful again? You are getting me all confused” He scratched his head.

“Who else if not Arya? She is going to be discharged tomorrow so she will start school immediately the vacation is over” I said with so much excitement.

“I never knew you liked her to this extent man! Can you imagine you left our best friend Lucas out there in the hospital stranded just because you want to go see her face to check if she’s indeed beautiful?” Idris burst into laughter.

“What’s wrong with you? She’s my classmate have you forgotten and i really want her to be well again” I said as Idris feigned anger.

“Will you stop that craziness huh? Stop pretending like you only concerned because she’s your classmate like you put it” Idris nudged me.

“Well you are right anyways! She’s just not my classmate but also someone important” I said.

“And some day she will be…” he paused as I turned to look at him.

“Why not complete your statement?” I laughed as he joined me laughing.

“We will see that together” He said.

Arya’s Pov:

I packed my clothes into the big box and smiled.

It was only remaining the teddy bear so I quickly carried it.

“It’s so cute” I mumbled inaudibly.

To think it was from the most arrogant guy in school like I always call him back then in school.

Who would have thought that he would come see me at the hospital talk more of getting me a get well soon present.

That’s really unbelievable!

Because it’s just too shocking to be true that he actually got this teddy bear for me.

I was still wondering lost in my thoughts when Sofia rushed in with smiles all over her face.

“What’s the matter Sofia? What happened?” I asked anxiously.

“You won’t believe what am about to tell you” She winked at me.

“What you are about to tell me? Go ahead already.. am so anxious to hear it! Spill the coffee already” I said dying to hear what exactly she has to say.

“I called him like I told you I will” She started.

“You called who?” I asked still confused.

“Come on Arya! Don’t tell me you have such a short memory huh?” She made faces at me.

“Am sorry but I can’t remember who you said you went to call.. you should know I have a whole lot on my mind plus the excitement that am finally going to be discharged” i said.

“Alright then! I’ll tell you who it was that I called when I stepped out…” she continued smiling crazily.

“Your Prince charming” She whispered into my ear as I stared at her in confusion.

“Prince charming? What Prince charming are you talking about?” I asked scratching my head.

“Don’t tell me you don’t know who am referring to as your Prince charming you dumb girl” She shrugged.

“I can’t remember telling you that I have any Prince charming so stop keeping me in the dark and let the cat out of the bag” I said.

“Fine.. it was Martin I called when I stepped out” She said as I shook my head.

“Oh Martin! So why are you so happy and why did you refer to Martin as my Prince charming silly?” I pushed her slightly.

“Come on who wouldn’t want him as a Prince charming girlfriend? I mean he is super cute and he is very rich as well then so so popular in school” She said as I sighed loudly.

“So what? So what if he is popular and rich whatever it is that you said what’s making him so special from the others?” I shrugged.

“Whatever! I know you must be a S.A” She laughed crazily.

“S.A? I don’t understand you either” I said.

“You are so dumb aren’t you girlfriend? I mean secret admirer” She disclosed as my face countenance changed.

“What? Why should I crush on him secretly? Come on you should know I don’t have a thing for that guy” I said.

“Let’s see if you will say that after few weeks” She said.

“I beg your pardon?” I asked as she shook her head in disagreement.

“Oh no it’s nothing! I just said he is coming over to the hospital to see you right now” She said as I gasped in shock.

“Say what? Don’t tell you are serious about what you just said?” I almost screamed my intestines out of my stomach.

“Does it look like am lying or pulling your leg?” She sighed as she picked up my comb and put it straight into my bag.

“Oh my goodness.. you shouldn’t have told that guy anything about me.. you know how much his girlfriend hates me right? And you know it’s vice versa” I exhaled deeply.

“What’s wrong with him visiting you? I don’t see anything wrong? We are all classmates right?” She defended herself.

“Even so I still don’t want any trouble with that girlfriend of his who won’t stop gluing around him” I said.

“I assure you he isn’t coming here for any trouble.. you should know he is a good guy” She said.

“When did you know him this well that you talk like you have been friends with him for ages?” I snorted.

“We don’t need to be friends for ages before I can tell if a person is nice or not” She snapped.

“We should stay clear from that guy before we get into trouble with his troublesome girlfriend” I worried.

“He assured me that you and I won’t get into trouble.. why are you so much worried about this anyway? I know you are a tough girl and that you won’t let that girl bully you” She replied.

“I know I will never let her step on me but I still want to stay clear from anything that is hers” I said.

“Who said Martin is hers? Are they married or did he propose to her already or take her down the aisle?” She said.

“Of course you will do anything to defend that guy… I really wonder what he did to you” I said as we shared a laugh.

“Arya?” I heard my name immediately the door creaked open.

I quickly turned around and gasped in shock.

It was the handsome Martin standing right in front of me staring at me like his life depended on it.

He was drooling as he looked at me like he has never seen me before.

Mrs Natasha’s Pov:

I took off my eyeglass as Brenda gasped in shock immediately she saw my face and my eyes.

“My goodness! What the heck is wrong with him?” She almost screamed her heart out.

“Shhh.. keep your voice down I don’t want him to know about this” I said as she shook her head in disbelief.

“What you are trying to tell me is that Arthur actually did this to you Natasha?” She gasped.

“I have no reason to tell you a lie girlfriend” I said sulking.

“Did your son see this? Did he see your swollen eyes?” Natasha asked as I shook my head in disagreement.

“No I didn’t and I don’t plan on letting him know if not he might hate his father forever” I said as Brenda shook her head in disbelief.

“If someone had told me that Arthur would have done something like this to you I would have slapped the person or better still have him locked up in a prison for lying against the innocent man like I see him” She said.

“I couldn’t believe it myself.. I mean he has never given me such a slap ever since we got married.. I know he sometimes slap me but not like this very one he did to me” I said.

“Honestly this is extreme.. what if he had blinded you? What would you have done?” She shook her head in disbelief.

“I don’t know what to do girlfriend.. I feel like reporting him to the corps so that he would pay dearly for what he did to me but on a second thought that isn’t the best decision to make” I cried.

“You know what? I think you should let his parents know about this if not he won’t stop hurting you” She suggested.

Just then, the maid walked in with the tray of two glasses of juice she was sent to get.

I quickly picked up the eyeglass on the table and wore it immediately.

I can’t let them see that am bruised.

They shouldn’t know about it not even my son should know about that.

“Your glasses of juice ma’am” The maid bowed slightly after dropping the tray containing the glasses of juice on the table.

“Alright then.. thank you for the juice” Brenda said as she nodded before leaving.

“Have you gone to the hospital for proper treatment?” She asked as I shook my head in disagreement.

“I haven’t.. I only took some pain reliving pills and applied first aid nothing else” I explained.

“I suggest you go see a doctor as soon as possible so that this will be treated as soon as possible so that this will be gone” She advised.

“I sure will” I said.

“But what exactly led to the quarrel that made him do this to you?” She asked anxiously.

“It was Aliyah that brought this issue up and made him hit me” I said as Brenda widened her eyes in shock.

“Aliyah? Is she back again? I thought she is dead?” She almost screamed.

“Honestly I can’t say if she’s really alive or dead.. you know we didn’t find her dead body so I can’t tell if she’s dead” I said.

“How did she cause the problem?” She asked anxiously.

“I spoke about her and he got so mad” I managed to speak.

Brenda covered her mouth with her palms.

Aliyah’s Pov:

I was putting the house in order for my baby’s arrival.

For the past few months I have hardly slept in the house so it was so dusty and tattered.

Why would I sleep here in the house when my daughter is at the hospital struggling for her life?

I carried out the dusty bedsheets as I kept on sneezing uncontrollably.

Christmas is approaching so the winter is getting so hard on everyone.

I sneezed again as I walked into the wash room and dropped the bed sheets on the ground.

I want everything to be ready and set as soon as she arrives.

After such a long stay in the hospital she should receive a grant treat for fighting for her life at the hospital if not what would I have done?

I was still busy washing the bed sheets with the washing machine when I heard someone’s voice right behind me.

Fear gripped me.

I was so sure am the only one in the house so how come someone else is right behind me.

“Aliyah?” I heard the soft voice call me.

Fear didn’t let me turn around cos I was visibly shaking in fear.

I quickly turned my back immediately.

Who I saw made my heart skip the more and I felt like I was losing my breath immediately I saw him standing right in front of me.

“It’s me Aliyah! It’s me” He said again.

“Arthur?” I managed to speak still dumb founded to see him in front of me…..
