CHAPTER ONE: EYESORE 1
A huge hall filled with one Lord, a huge sculpture of a demon, five council members, a ruler and his wife begging, a child brought forth to be used as an alliance means.
Mammon watch them carefully, their pleading eyes, knees on the floor, heads bowed, gently his eyes moved to the little girl brought to him, her eyes roaming round his palace, her hair dark and long, eyes black just like fine wool.
My eyes watch her carefully, how her nose move trying to get a specific scent, her hands playing with her hair, this continue for two more minutes before our eyes meet, I frowned upon that.
She should be bowing her head, not looking at me but then human children are always foolish ” to what do I owe this unpleasant visit ”
” My Lord ”
” Surely you do not think that begging will stop this war, do you?”
He lifted his head ” of course not my Lord ” I watched how he tremble in fear ” I have come with an offering, hoping you will accept it and take the small country under your wings ”
” Speak on ”
” this is my daughter, she can be your concubine ” after those words the whole throne room became quiet, few minutes passed before my councils burst into laughter, anyone could think we were listening to a comedian in here.
My gaze travel back to the child ” you bring a child to me” I mumble, she smile not knowing what her parents are planning.
” How insulting ” baron my personal advisor gr0-n ” he expects you to bed a child!”
” My Lord” he fall to the floor ” this is my only child ”
” Nonsense ” Asodeus gr0-n, one of the council member ” you are known to have two daughters, your first child currently seventeen and……” Lifting my hand I stop him from speaking further.
” You have committed two offense” I stand to my feet, a smile still place on my face ” first was to bring a child to me, trying to belittle me and secondly was to lie to me ” I walk towards his direction ” I can see you find your first child precious compare to this and for that I will punish her in your very eyes then take this child into my care ”
” Forgive me milord, I have committed a great sin ”
” No milord ” for the first time, the woman open her mouth and lift her head ” kill me instead, do not touch my child ” before I could mutter more, the door open once more, two guards dragging the girl to my direction.
Surprise were registered on their face ” surely you do not think I had no idea of your plan” smiling at the man, I stare at the daughter, her hair blond just like the sun, eyes blue as the ocean.
Compare to this child, she must have been the pride of the family, a beauty to stare at ” I see ” turning back, I move to my throne, have a seat and exhale ” the war will stop, this child will grow to be my concubine” I smile then look at the elder daughter ” move forward ”
She did exactly what I told her, her gaze burning into mine “I will use you to teach parents a lesson”
” My Lord….” She start speaking but I shake my head, shutting her up, my gaze move to baron, he nod and hand the bottle of acid to me, before she could react to anything I pour it right on her face.
The silent room became a delight, I watch her parents s¢ræm but the child doesn’t look bothered, she just rise to her feet and watch all the drama unfold in her very eyes.
Little lily watch uncle and aunty cry over wicked jasmine but what intrigued lily most was the drawing on the palace walls, the horns and wings of the demon look pretty real.
She knew that the reason of her being here is to be this man concubine and that is something any normal girl will reject but I rather live here with this king than to return ” how old are you little one ” his voice husky as he asked, his smiles seem fake but perfected.
” Twelve my Lord ” I bow down just like aunty taught me resently to do.
“Do you know why you’re here ”
” Yes milord ” I nod then look at him, just like I heard girls of jasmine age gossip about the king, those words were true, his hair is white and shiny with blue sparkly eyes ” to be your concubine my Lord ”
My gaze move to uncle and aunty who hold jasmine in their arms, crying bitterly ” do you wish to return to your family or service my bed ”
They stare at me, from the look in their eyes I know fully well they want me to service his bed, I may still be little but no fool ” yes milord, I choose to stay here ”
” I see ” Lord Mammon mumble ” discard this people, the meeting is over ” I watch him stand up, looking so tall, he walk towards my direction and I try hiding my fear ” you will grow to service me in bed little one ” he look at me with one of those smiles of his, slowly the throne room become empty, leaving me and him alone.
Rumors always said the king is kind and respectful to those who he seem worthy, I hope he doesn’t kill me in the near future” yes milord ” I force the words out of my l-ips, trying to stop the wrong ones from Bursting out ” I promise not to disappoint ” once again he gave one of his fake laughs.
” What do a child know about s-× ”
” I can learn milord ” I mumble smiling ” you can teach me and then when am all grown up, I will do as you taught ” I watch how the Lord bend to my level, his face incredibly close to mine, I could feel his breath on my face and to be sincere it’s itching and suffocating.
Too close but then I can’t push him away, I mean he is a king.
” You want me to teach you the act of love making ”
I nod ” yes milord, am a fast learner” Lord Mammon remain quiet his eyes watching mine carefully, I remain still with a fake smile, I watch him lift his hand and touch my cheek, those fingers move to my nose, l-ips and then he run them through my hair.
He title his head to his left, gave me a long stare, freaking me out before he finally stand to his feet and mumble ” Eyesore ” that was his last word before leaving me alone in the throne room, even a little girl like me knows that it means ugly.

CHAPTER TWO: PAIR OF RED EYES
” Do you realize that flowers never stop blooming baron ” mumbling my gaze didn’t move from the rose am watering, over hundreds of years they keep doing the one thing they are good at.
” Of course my Lord ”
Nodding my head, I allow my eyes to meet his for a split second ” what brings you here baron?”
” It’s about the little girl my Lord ” he exhale after mumbling ” what do you propose we do with her ”
” Give her to the head chief to take care of” realizing the water has reach its end I stand straight ” I do not need a child staying close to me, they are certain things I can’t tolerate ”
” Of course my Lord, I will do just that ”
Before he leave I lift my hand to stop him from taking another step ” tell the head chief to keep love making out of the child ears, for someone so small I can’t believe she can say such things with ease”
” Will do that milord”
Lily watch them carefully, how they cook, take care of kitchen, watch the dishes, clean the floors, is this what I will grow into doing? It seem really hærd, I should give it a try.
Jumping off the table I move to pick the broom stick but the woman they call the head chief stop me, looking up at her, I notice she look sad, as if pitting my situation ” little lily” she bend down and pat my head ” you need not stress yourself any further, your future will be difficult enough ”
” My future?”
She nod ” once you hit eighteen, the king will acknowledge you as a suitable bed warmer ”
” Bed warmer?” I look at her strangely ” these are words I know nothing of madam ” my gaze move to the maids which are always sad ” to service the Lord on his bed is that bad?”
” Of course ” one of the maids mumble and the others shoot her daggers ” I mean when you grow up you will understand ”
” Am sure the Lord has other concubines right?”
” Yes ” the head chief smile ” I want you to relax and enjoy your childhood for these six years you have left ”
” Do you mean the king dismiss me from his presence for six years?” They all nod and I smile, finally happy ” you mean I won’t get to see that sad man face for six years!” I chuckle and they all stare at me strangely ” did I say something wrong?”
” No lily ” one of the maids mumble ” is just that the king is always smiling, he is always happy lily ”
” But they are fake ” I look at them ” don’t you notice it ”
” Enough of the talk ” the head chief stand to her feet ” we should get to work before martin arrive here” everyone begin working while I walk behind head chief.
” Who is martin?”
” The man in charge of the palace neatness, he is one sulking man” that made me smile ” you do know you talk older than your age little lily ” head chief mumble while stepping into a huge room down the hallway.
Books all over, I watch her move to a corner lifting some box that look pretty heavy, I think this will be a library ” what are those for?”
” These are books that are to be thrown away without the king knowledge, he must never know you dispose of what is his ”
” But that means they are old if you have to dispose of them right?” She nod and am left to wonder, is the king that greedy of his things? Or he just like staring at them.
In the process of the head chief lifting it, a book drop and I hurriedly pick it up, ‘tales of heaven’ written boldly on it ” bring it lily ”
” Can I please keep it ” I give her my begging eyes ” I promise I will be careful, the king won’t see me with it ”
” Alright lily, be careful, remember to always avoid meeting the king ” she warn ” he ask me to keep you out of the main palace ”
I nod my head while walking back to the servant quarters, opening the first chapter I couldn’t help but smile, I will make sure to take my time in reading them.
Weeks passed with me gradually working in the kitchen, washing the dishes and watching how they prepare the king meal, each time I do salivate, he must really enjoy his meal.
Afternoon I move to the ranch to help mr Collin who take care of the horses and other animals the king choose to keep ” how much do the king pay Mr Collin ” I ask which gain me a hit on my head, playfully.
” You shouldn’t ask someone of his salary but since it’s you I will disclose it ” he smile ” three hundred thousand dollars ”
” That’s a lot ”
I watch him nod still smiling ” that’s why I try to work perfectly ” I guess everybody still have their reasons of working here.
Time do fly by, within a blink of an eye, four years has passed and now today is my birthday that no one knows about, am sixteen today and my life here is not so bad.
Under the stars I sit on one of the benches in the garden, holding the book I took years back,’ tale of heaven’, no mater how many times I read it, I just can’t help but to find it interesting all over again.
Opening the book once more, I smile as my eyes move from each paragraph ” tales of heaven’ ” hearing that voice I quickly rise to my feet and place my hand with the book behind, hiding the book from Lord Mammon.
” My Lord”
” That belong to me ” he grown, he seem rather pissed, how can someone remember a book he haven’t seen for four years ” no body touches what’s mine! ” For the first time I heard him growl and for some reason he seem bigger and I couldn’t help but to decline.
” No milord ” I bow my head ” it is mine ”
” Are you saying I tell lies?” I heard the anger in his voice and I lift my head to meet pair of red eyes, I forgot to ask miss Clara why the king so much hate someone to touch what’s his.
Am not surprised, all my birthdays always have a horrible incident attach.
