☔Episode 14☔

Penny’s POV:

After Faith showed us the guest room and told me where the bathroom is, she left.

I stared in awe at the room.

This room is almost as large as my wh0le apartment!

Wow!

I lay Chris down on the bed, I remove my sandal and got rid of my shirt.

Laying back on the bed, I cuddle closely to Chris. My hand around his wa-ist.

“Good night baby.” I k-ssed his hair and switched off the side light.

My mind wander around what happened today, the drama was too much.

I exhaled loudly and closed my eyes. I soon drifted off to sleep.

“Mommy wake up.” A voice said in my ear.

“Go away, don’t wake me up.” I said sleepily. He keep waking me up and I gro-ned loudly.

I jolt awake and quickly glanced at the table clock.

It is already 6:00am.

“Good morning baby.” I k-ssed him in both cheeks and sprung out of the bed.

I walk in,side the bathroom and took the new toothbrush, I brushed my teeth and wash my face.

I went back into the room and pick up the shirt that I tossed away last night.

“Come Chris, let’s go make breakfast.” I said to him and he followed me out of the house.

We got downstairs and there wasn’t anyone here yet.

If they wake up this late then how will baby girl get to school early?
I sigh and wander around the place searching for the kitchen.

After five minutes of searching around the stadium like living room, I later found out where the kitchen was situated.

“What do we make Mr King?” I asked Chris.He rose his eyes thoughtfully for awhile and smiled.

“Why don’t you make chicken ceaser and rice? I bet he’ll love it.” He said excitedly.

I nods in agreement and opened the fridge. There s no chicken here.

I took three piece of pork beef and a vegetable. Then carrots,and the rest of them.

Thirty minutes later, I already made a decent breakfast. I rinse my hand in,side the sink and soon footsteps were been heard.

“Oh my God, I…..I’m sorry I slept pretty good last night which is why I woke up late.you cooked?” A woman of about 29 years asked.

“Yes I did cook, you don’t have to apologize. Chris woke me up as well.” I said sweetly at her. “By the way, I’m Penelope James, but you can call me Penny.”

“Martha, nice to meet you Penny.”

“Likewise. Is Mr King still asleep?” I asked her and she nodded.

“Yes, Mr King doesn’t go to work until 7:30 so he is still asleep.” She said and my mouth formed an “O” shape.

“Hi liddo boy, what your name?” She asked Chris.

“My name is Christian James but you can call me Chris.” He grin boyishly at her.

Awwn, my baby is growing real fast.

“Chris, I am Martha. Would you like me to show you around?”

“Yes please.”

“Okay Miss James, I’ll show Chris around. You can join if you want.” She said, I smiled and waved them off.

I think I like Martha, she is cool to talk to.

And Chris is quite comfortable with her as well.

I walk back in,side the living room and sat down on a couch.

“Penny?” A tiny voice called. I turned around and came face to face with Baby girl.

“Hello baby girl, good morning.” I greeted. She ran towards me nd throw her hands around my neck.

“Well, guess you are glad to see me here.” I said calmly.

“I am thrilled Penny, how…..how did you know this place?” She asked.

“I brought her here.” The same cold voice that saved me yesterday said.

“Daddy?”

Bryce’s POV:

I woke up from sleep and rub my eyes leisurely.

Damn I have a meeting by 7:00am. I stepped out of the bed and went in,side the bathroom. After easing myself I brushed my teeth and took my bath.

My morning routine started and within forty minutes I was already through.

I was wearing a dark blue suit and a black shirt. My tousled hair was well trimmed and my eyes glistening in the mirror.

I grab my briefcase and wallet, including my phone then walk out of the room.

I climb down the stairs slowly and silently, my hand holding the rail up.

“How did you know thus place?” Arley asked Miss James.

“I brought her here.” I said and they both turned to face me, her eyes wandered around my body.

Pink rushed to her cheek and she soon look away when she saw me staring at her.

What’s with the blushing?

“Good morning.” She greeted slowly as I passed her by to k-ss Arley.

“Good morning Miss James, hello baby.” I pecked Arley’s cheeks and sat down.

“Before you go to work Mr King, I made breakfast and I hope you like it.” She said and I twist my mouth up.

“Why will you make breakfast? I have a cook don’t I? Martha?” I asked. She bite her lip and fumbles with her fingers.

“It is a thank you breakfast Mr King, to appreciate you.” She said and I chuckled internally.

“The food you made is mine Miss James, that is absolutely not a way to thank someone.” I said and she blushed crimson yet again.

“What do you want then?”

I glanced at Arley who was following the conversation with keen interest.

“Arley go and call Faith.” I said and she rushed out.

“So Miss James……..

☔Episode 15☔

Penny’s POV:

My heart skipped a bit when he told his daughter off.

What does he want to say to me, I couldn’t guess.

Why is this man so intimidating? I dont know.

Why am i always nervous with him around me? I can’t guess.

I paused my lip in a thin line and look up at him, he was staring straight into my eyes as if he was searching for something.

I couldn’t guess why a wealthy man like him will even care about me. He could easily tell me off.

“What do you want to say?” I wanted to say I clearly but it ended up as a whisper.

He glanced at me up and down and twist his lip.

“I just don’t get why the second daughter of The James will be homeless.” He said and rose his eyebrows.

I coughed silently and hide my face away.

Embarrassing.

“I don’t want to talk about it.” I said silently.

“If you want to pay me for bringing you here then, you should stay here until you find a place to stay.” He said and my mouth dropped open.

“Sta……..Stay here? Won’t your wife be angry?” I asked. His face have gone back to there cold and void self again.

“My wife is not in the state,now that’s not your concern Miss James.” He said and walk out.

He didn’t even touched the food that i made.

Why?

Did I said something wrong?

I stood there confused and slightly mortified.

“Where is daddy?” Arley asked.

“He……he left.” I told her, she frowned and batted her lashes together.

She nodded and went back upstairs.

Where is Martha and Chris?

I wandered off outside the house and stood on my track.

Wow!

Is this a house? This place is a f**king paradise.

I’m sorry about the slur word but damn…….the mansion is painted in an all white form.

A huge mansion that stood er-ct in the center.

There wasa big and long pool at the middle of the compound.

Several cars were parked at the garage, 1,2,3,……..7,8,

How can eight cars be his alone?
They are expensive cars.

At least one of them will be about $3m.

I shook my head and glanced around the place again. His wife is lucky.

“Mommy!” I look back and saw Chris walking close to me.

“Baby where did you go?” I asked him

“Martha took me to the underground garage to see the cars.” He said and i furrowed my eyebrow.

Underground garage? Another set of cars.

Just how rich is this man.

“Come and eat baby, the food will get cold.” I said and turn to meet Martha. “Please go and call Arley down for breakfast before it gets cold.”

“Okay Penny.” She walk away and I followed with christian beside me.

When I goto to the dinning room, Arley was already eating.

“It I delicious Penny, it makes me remember mommy’s cooking.” She said and her face soon turn sour.

“Penny do you think that mommy will be back soon?Daddy said that the shooting will take few days.”She said sadly.

“Shooting?”

“Mrs King is a Model.” Faith ch¡pped in. She pause And glanced at Arley.

“She doesnt want to quit it, even if her husband is the third richest man in the world.”

There was sadness in her voice.

I really admire the woman, she doesn’t want her husband’s wealth to stop her from working or make her lazy.

She is a super woman.

“Enough of talking about Mrs King, let eat.” Itold them sweetly when the atmosphere started turning stiff all of a sudden.

We started eating and my eyes keep going back to Arley.

“What grade are you Arley?” I asked to keep her entertained.

“Same with Chris,he used to give me some of his lunch but…….I never gave him anything.” She said and I opened my mouth in surprise.

“When I grow up Mommy, I will marry Arley.” Chris said and i stared at him wide eyed.

“Do you think that you can marry a billionaire daughter?” I asked him and he nodded.

I chuckled and nodded.

“One day, you will sure marry her.” I assured him, I just hope that Bryce didn’t hear this.

“I am sorry Penny, im just not the man for you.” I heard him say.

What does he mean by that? Ofcourse he is the man for me.

“What are you talking about Bryce?Bryce………what are you talking about?” I asked eagerly.

He can’t just say that.

“I can’t do It anymore Penny, I want to let you go now.” He said and my eyes w¡dened.

He is breaking up with me.

What!!

“Bryce, Bryce i love you. Forget about everything. Think of me……me alone.” I said, fighting away my tears.

He shook his head and tries to leave but i grabbed his hand and smashed my l-ips on his, k-ssing him the most way i can.

“I love you.” He said between k-sses.

I love you………i love you so much.
