Chapter 50
*****
Continuation from the last chapter;
Concluded with the series of checkup and laboratory test, the doctor leaves the ward.
“Doctor… How is she and the baby?” Lea asks worriedly as she stood up from where she was.
The doctor palms his head as he tries to smile.
“She is fine… But… She is in a semi-coma”
“What do you mean by that doctor?” Diana asks confused.
“It’s a state of partial consciousness where the patient is not completely aware of his environmental but can still respond to stimuli and make purposeful movements. She can hear someone speak but she wouldn’t reply”.
“Oh my goodness” Diana palms her forehead.
“Doctor… How about the baby?” Kalila asks concerned.
“Ohh… Yeah… The baby is doing well and is completely fine. There is no need to worry”.
Lea palms her chest as she heaves a sigh of relief.
” You can now go in and check on her. I may leave now.” The doctor turns to go.
Being allowed to see her, they quickly walked into the ward but Diana stops Jason at the door.
” Where do you think you are going huh?” She breathes in deeply, nodding her head slowly.
” Ohh I see… To meet Rosie right… After you left her? ” Diana scoffs.
” Your ignorance caused her so much pain! You pretended you loved her but you made her cry each passing day… Just look… See the condition she is in because of you!! I feel so terrible supporting the both of you from the beginning… ”
” Diana! ” Kalila calls out calmly trying to stop her from talking. She seats on the hospital bed besides Roseanna.
Diana nods her head as cry stream down her cheeks. She points her hand towards Jason.
” Your only prayer now is that she comes out of this, safe and sound . If not…! ”
Dropping her hand down, she squeezed her lips tight together, shutting her eyes. She leaves Jason and walks to where Kalila sat.
Jason looks dumb, he doesn’t know what to do to where to start from or what to say.
He had deeply betrayed Roseanna, causing her so much pain. How would she forgive him?
Tears welled up in his eyes and rolled down his cheeks for the first time.
Kalila held Roseanna’s hand as tears drops down. She looks at Roseanna whose eyes are closed and sighs.
“Rosie… I am very sorry for everything that has happened to you… Seeing you in this time makes my heart to bleed. You didn’t do anything wrong, yet you are going through all this…” She sniffs, wiping off her tears from her cheeks.
“Please… just wake up from this and tell me that you are okay… Just wake up… Please…!” she cries the more.
Lea walks towards her and sat down.
“It’s okay Lila… Shush now… She’s surely gonna wake up… Please stop crying!”
Lea shakes her calmly, soothing her back.
Nicole who had been quiet all this while, sighs. He really felt sorry for Roseanna.
“She needs spare time alone… It wouldn’t be good for us to disturb her since the doctor says she hears sounds around her. It would be best if we leave here and stay outside a bit.
They all agreed. Standing up from where she was seated, Kalila wipes her tears and sniffs.
They all walked out leaving Jason who stood at the door.

Starlet paces round the room, Alvin kept her in. She walks over to the mirror to see herself.
She sighs as she robs her protruded stomach which was nearly in it’s seventh month.
She walks back to her bed and sits down lazily.
Series of past events played in her memory.
“This shouldn’t be happening…”
Everything changed within the twinkle of an eye bringing her plans to void.
She opens the drawer besides her bed and took out some pills.
“I will have to terminate this pregnancy as the baby is of no good… I can’t let Alvin be my child’s father!!
She opens the pills ready to take it.
” And for Roseanna… You wouldn’t survive what will come your way as it is going to be very drastic and terrible! It would have just been easier if both of us weren’t even pregnant!! ”
She scoops the drugs into her mouth and drank a cup of water, waiting for the result.
Soon, she held her stomach writhing in pain.
” O-o-u-ch! A-a-ahhh my stomach hurts”
She held her stomach painfully as she lays on the floor.
“My stomach!! A-a-ahhhhhhh!!

Alvin is on his computer, typing something on it. He hears sound but doesn’t pay attention to it.
Soon, he heard a loud screaming.
Troubled by such screams and sure it was Starlet. He quickly placed the computer on the table and dashes out of his room to Starlet’s room where the sound was heard.
He opens the door and gasps surprised at what he saw….
Starlet was completely in her pool of blood and was slowly passing out.
“S-t-a-r-l-e-t!!”
He runs towards her and squat to her position.
“Just let me die A-l-v…” She slowly shuts her eyes close.
Alvin was motionless for a while, totally taken aback from what was just happening.
“Nooooo!!”
He quickly carries Starlet and walks out of her room.
Luckily, his car key was in his pocket as he ran out of the house towards his car.
Placing Starlet at the back and entering the driver’s seat, he horns that the gate should be opened.
Once opened, he quickly drives out of his house heading to the hospital.

Chapter 51

Continuation from the last chapter;
Alvin who quickly drove to the hospital, packed his car at the packing space.
He alighted the car and go over to the back door where Starlet was laid.
He was pulls his phone and dials the her hospital emergency department.
“Be quick! Someone here is in need of…”
Before he could finish talking, two men rolled out a stretcher and laid Starlet on it with a nurse following at the back.
Alvin closes the door and sighs. He looks around and sight the name of the hospital.
‘Gloryland Hospital’
He takes a deep breathe and walks in hoping nothing bad will happen to Starlet.

Series of checkup and laboratory test are conducted yet Starlet didn’t wake up which made Alvin who stood outside really bothered.
Soon the door opened and a doctor comes out and walks towards him.
“She is completely as in an emergency state”
“Forget about her… What about the baby?” Alvin interrupted, interested only in the baby.
“The… baby d*ied prematurely while still in the womb. After the test we conducted, we found out that she had some intake of harmful drugs as a form of @bortion pills which automatically k”ills the child”.
Alvin’s gasps in widen gaze, totally shocked.
‘Why would she do that? ‘ Alvin thought to himself.
“So right now…” The doctor continued bringing Alvin out of the world of thought.
“Right now, the womb requires evacuation and clean up which should be done immediately!”
“Wait… Starlet wasn’t harmed by what she took or what?”
The doctor smiles,” No, she wasn’t. The drugs only affected her womb and she may not be able to give birth again”.

Jason stands at the door with tears in his eyes. He walks over to where Roseanna was laid and sat on the nearby chair.
He looks at her innocent face, she was still beautiful with her eyes closed. He sniffs, letting out a hot breathe from his lips.
“I’m sorry Rosie… I feel sorry for everything… Everything you’ve gone through all because of me. I’m deeply sorry..!”
He looks at her as the tears drop down.
“I just want you to know that I still love you… please find it in your heart to forgive me… please”
Taking her hand, he held it tenderly and kissed it.
” I still love you, Rosie, please wake up”.
He held up her hand as the tears pours out the more. He lowers his head on the bed and soon fall asleep in a teary mood.
Few Days Later
Roseanna who was on the hospital bed still unconscious could only move part of her body, few at times she would open her eyes and mumble some few words, sometimes she would smile hearing her name or her baby but yet she could not completely woken up as the doctor says she still require some rest as she was getting better.

Starlet too was on bed rest after the surgery. She was definitely okay but the doctor requested that she would stay in the hospital for extra two weeks until she was healed up completely though she was still allowed to walk around.
Starlet knew Roseanna was in the same hospital she was in and was interested to find out the exact ward she would be in.
She walks round the hospital loggia, peeking and checking each rooms she came across, finally she came town Roseanna’s ward.

“We need to leave now, let’s give her some space… She is definitely getting better…” The nurse says leading them out of the ward.
“I will go and get some fruit from the nearby grocery store… I will be back soon” Kalila says.
” I’m coming with you! ” Lea added.
” Me too”
” Guys… Please be careful…. Roseanna is still unconscious… Just watch over her, we’ll be back soon” Lea says leaving Bryan and Jason, while Nicole had gone for a workout that morning.
“Can I talk to you doing for a while?” Jason asks Bryan wanted to go.
” Sure” Bryan nods in agreement walking out from the ward loggia.
Starlet peeps behind and watch them leave entirely. She sighs and silently tiptoes to the ward.
Opening the door gently to avoid it making a creeking noise, she quickly closes the door behind her.
She looks around the room and walks towards Roseanna’s bed. Peeking at her face, she goes down to her stomach, seeing it protruded made her heart grow into a fury.
“I need to do something fast before they return…” Starlet pondered looking at the equipment and devices placed on Roseanna.

“First of all, I want to thank you for being at Roseanna’s side all this while despite my misunderstanding… ” Jason spoke to Bryan.
” I’m sorry for thinking wrongly about both of you… I… ”
Bryan smiled, placing his hand on Jason’s shoulder.
” I understand Jason… Anyone in your shoe would definitely had done the same” He let out a deep breathe and continued.
” I wouldn’t deny that I felt sad the way you treated her, she is just a nice girl. Our prayer now is that she wakes up” .
” Thanks dude for everything… I hope she forgives me when she wakes up”
” She will”
Jason looks at him and smiles, “It’s my pleasure meeting with you”. He offered his hand for a handshake which Bryan reciprocated.
“I think I have to go now” Bryan says glancing at his wrist watch.
“Okay… We hope for the best” Jason shrugs and turns back inside.

“Think… Think Starlet, you need to do something now!”
Starlet palms her forehead thinking of the next action to make. She moves over to the light switch and turns it off.
Carefully walking back to Roseanna’s bed head, she touched the oxygen mask and smiles.
“Sleep well dear Rosie!” She said removing the oxygen from her.
She watches Roseanna breathe drastically reduces as the monitoring device blinks as there was change in the wave.
Soon the alarm blew off.
