Baja, the prince’s guard went to search for Amelia just like the prince ordered but when he got there he couldn’t find her.
He searched around the vicinity with hope to find her but she was long gone then he went back to the prince.
” Where is she?” The prince asked eagerly looking around for her.
” Forgive me my prince, I lost her” Baja replied.
” Whatt, you’re so dumb Baja, too dumb”
” That was an easy task and you failed, she’s just a woman, she couldn’t have gone that far” Klaus said.
” Apologies”
” It’s fine, there will be another chance for her…….. she’s just too perfect just the way I love them”
” Just find me a suitable one to replace her, I’ll use that to soothe my raging soul” he added.
” Yes Prince” Baja replied.
” We will meet again and when that time comes…….you won’t escape from me” Klaus said in his mind.

About some Minutes later, Laura and Amelia arrived at her place and they entered.
” You live here alone?” Amelia asked.
” No, I live with my brother, I’m sure he should be around the house” she replied.
” Where are your parents?” Amelia asked.
” They are both dead, it’s just my brother and I since then” Laura replied.
” I’m sorry about that” Amelia said.
” That’s alright”
” This is where you’ll stay for the night, I hope it’s not too tight” she said and Amelia smiled.
” You’re funny, this place is bigger than my room in the village, thank you for very much” she replied.
” You’ve been so kind” she added.
” I’ll make something for us to eat, why don’t you rest” Laura said then the door opened and a young man entered.
” That’s my brother” Laura said as the man got closer.
” Hey Laura, who’s this?” The man said.
” Amelia, meet my brother Leo….. Leonardo, meet Amelia” Laura introduced.
” Nice to meet you Amelia, and pleased call me Leo” he said offering his hand for a handshake.
” Nice to meet you too Leo” I replied shaking his hand.
” Amelia will be staying with us for tonight, she’s new in town so I decided to give her shelter” Laura said.
” That’s no problem at all…… you’re welcome” leo replied and Amelia noticed he couldn’t stop glaring at her.
Laura also noticed the look in her brother’s eyes so she managed to lead him away leaving Amelia in the room.
” Laura, where did you find her?….. she’s a damsel” Leo said to his sister as they went away.
” I told you she’s new in town and she Seems like a nice person” Laura replied.
” I think I like her already….you know I always wanted someone who’s not from this city”Leo said.
‘ all the women in this town are Bewitched by prince…… c’mon Laura, can I make a move on her?” Leo said.
” Calm down big man, she’s tougher than she looks…….I saw her took down a man with just a strike” Laura said.
” Really!!” Leo said surprised.
” I’m telling you……it took me by surprise and well” she replied.
” All of these makes me want her more, she’s just my King of woman, even if I don’t win the contest I’ll know I got something better” leo said.
” You barely know this girl and you’re running your head over her already, why don’t you just take a break” Laura said.
” I will, I just want to know this girl more….that’s all” he replied.
” You will have your chance she’s going nowhere for today……so calm your nerves” she said to him.
” Alright alright….” Leo said before leaving and Laura smiled nodding her head.

In the evening when dinner was served, they called Amelia and she joined them and they all sat round the table.
” I really don’t know how to thank you too…… you’re too kind to me…….thank you ” Amelia said.
” It’s Okay dear, it’s been a long time we’ve had any visitors, so this is alright with us” Laura replied.
” So Amelia, Laura told me you came for tomorrow’s contest, I thought only men are the one’e to enjoy such things”
” I’m surprised a woman like you can travel a far distance to watch the contest, you must really love it” Leo said.
” No, I think you got it all wrong…….. I’m not here to watch the contest, actually I’m here to represent my village in the contest” Amelia said.
They both look at each other surprised to what she just said.
” You mean you’re a fighter for tomorrow’s contest?” Leo asked.
” Yes, this is my warrior’s bagde….. I’m sorry you got it all wrong” Amelia said.
” Uh……this is going to be weird” Laura said.
” Is there a problem?” Amelia asked.
” My brother is also a fighter, he’s among the two warrior’s representing our city” Laura said.
” Oh, you’re right……. it’s indeed going to be weird” Amelia said.
” Don’t worry, If you and I meet in the arena…….I can decide to lose for you” Leo said looking at her Coquettishly.
” Oh please, you don’t have to……..we just have to give our best besides they are looking for the best” Amelia replied trying to avoid his disturbing gaze.
” Why do you want to fight anyway?……women don’t usually participate in things like this” Laura asked.
” Our village lack lot of things and with the prize money in the contest, it can be used to sort it” Amelia replied.
” So your village couldn’t provide a male fighter but a female…… aren’t you afraid of getting hurt”
” You know people get killed at some stages” Leo said.
” I heard but I’m not scare of getting hurt, I’ve encountered a lot worse” she replied.
” That’s great, at least this will change people’s believe about the women being useless”
” And if you happens to win the contest…..this will instill courage in every women out there” Laura said.
” Seems like I have more reasons to win this contest, and I don’t like letting people down” Amelia replied.
” I’ve never come across a woman with so much boldness like you……I like your kind of people” Leo said and Amelia smiled a little not knowing whether to reply or not.
” Tell me more about the champion of Malmoe” she said changing the subject.
” Ergon?…….why are you asking?” Laura asked.
” I’ve heard about him…..I just wanted to know more” she replied.
” Ergon is a great and skillful fighter, he’s undefeated and all his victims either end up dead or barely alive” Leo narrated.
” He’s strong, tall and broad, his sword his twice the size of my arm and he knows how to use it ”
” To prevent more people dying he was crowned the champion of Malmoe, given alot of gifts and rewards”
” There are some rumours that he was chosen by the gods and they instill in him the strength of a hundred men” Laura added.
” No one ever dates challenge him, so even if you win the contest my some miracle, don’t even think of challenging him” Leo concluded.
” Will he be present at the contest?” Amelia asked.
” Yes, always” Laura replied.
” The king must really be nice to give him so much honour and rewards and respect” Amelia said.
” King Mehra is a great king……the king who is willing to sacrifice his own daughter for peace to reign in the kingdom” Laura said and Amelia looked surprised.
” What are talking about?……. I’ve never heard of that before” Amelia said.
” The kingdom was in great danger by the prophesy from the gods that the child was cursed” Laura said.
” The village never heard of such stories before” Amelia replied.
” We’ve all heard the story of the cursed princess, the gods foretold that the child will bring terror to the kingdom”
” The king couldn’t have that so they had to sacrifice the child to the gods and since then our kingdom was at peace.” She concluded.
” They killed their own child?” Amelia asked in shocked.
” In other to save the kingdom they watched her burn on the alter…….. Alive immediately she was born” Leo completed.
” Everyone owed him for his great sacrifice which made everyone love him and his reign” Laura said.
” That is unbelievable but how can he be so sure he sacrificed the right child…..he could be wrong” Amelia said.
” Well, the gods used only one person to send message to the kingdom and that’s the Oracle”
” The Oracle is forbidden to lie or give false prophecy, do whatever she says is true…………”
” And the gods has never been wrong, everything they say always come to pass” Laura concluded.
” Enough talk, let’s eat before it get cold” Leo said and the started eating.

Throughout the night they all talked more about some things and most especially the contest.
However, Leo has been trying everyway to get clinging with Amelia which she also noticed as well.
Leo signalled to Laura which she understood perfectly as she announced her departure to bed to give his brother a chance.
Leo took the opportunity to engaged Amelia in a conversation for a long time before Amelia decided to call it a night.
As Amelia woke up in the morning she did her early morning training which ended for a short time.
” Good morning” Laura greeted as she was done.
” Good morning, thank you for all this” Amelia said.
” You’re welcome, hope my brother didn’t disturb you much?….I know he can be a headache” Laura said and she smiled.
” Yeah, your brother is something……..it seems Everyman in this city have the habit of flirting with anyone” Amelia said.
” I’m so sorry about that, I haven’t seen him like that with anyone ever……he also believes every women in this city is under the Prince’s charm” she said.
” It’s not possible for everyone to be crazy about the prince, he’s just a man with higher power” Amelia said.
” Perhaps you’re saying that because you haven’t seen him up close……. I’m sure you will stupefied when you did” she said.
” I think I should get prepared for the contest, it will start very soon” Amelia said.
” Okay”

After Amelia was done with her preparation, she and Leo left to the palace together to get registered.
Amelia also admit to herself that she find his company fun as he’s a jovial person with a huge sense of humor.
They arrived at the palace and they went to the temple where all the other fighters are waiting.
They all submit their warrior’s bagde and when Amelia submit hers they all keep their gaze at her.
” Why are they staring me?” She asked Leo.
” That’s because you’re the only woman among us, and most people believe women should stay at home” Leo replied.
” That’s crazy…..all my life I’ve always wanted to do something like this, which is why I decided to become a hunter” she replied.
” What about you?…..what do you think?” She asked him.
” I think I already told you before, I love brave women like you, who doesn’t fear anyone and capable of defending themselves”
” Especially someone strong and as beautiful as you are, someone I know very well can never let me down”
” Someone my heart leap for every moment I set my eyes on her and someone whose smile give me joy” Leo said flirtatiously.
” You cannot change……you don’t even know me” Amelia said.
” I feel like I’ve known you my entire life and that’s what love is all about, with someone you get connected with” he said.
” We have a contest at hand…. We should concentrate or else we will both lose” she said.
” I don’t care……as long as you accept me, I’ll always be a winner”
” Get a grip of yourself, Leo……someone is coming” Amelia said pointing to a woman in a sacramental gown coming.
” That’s the Oracle” Leo said.
” Oh” she muttered as she watched as the Oracle washed the fighters hands one after the other.
” What is she doing?” Amelia asked.
” I don’t know….. probably one of the ways of communicating to the gods, the woman has a special gift” leo said.
Amelia watched intently as what she was doing and when it got to her turn the Oracle stopped and looked into her eyes.
