THE DEED….

EPISODE 11

“I didn’t impregnate any woman neither did I deny any woman’s pregnancy. The only one I am aware of is that lady that refused to abort but remember she lost the pregnancy. People can look alike.” Dayo responded to his mother when she asked him.

“How far with having more children? What have you and Fila agreed?”

“The problem is with Fila. She is fighting me instead of getting pregnant.”

“Fila, Fila, come here I want to talk to you.” Fila joined them. “What is stopping you from getting pregnant? What are the doctors saying this time?”

“Mama, the doctor said I can only get pregnant if I have regular s–x. But what I have is a once in a while s–x whenever Dayo remembers to come home and most times he is drunk and won’t ejaculate. ”

“Ah-ah, kini o nso Dayo? Why would you not have s–x with your wife regularly? Don’t you want another child?”

“He has refused to see the doctor with me. He said he has been certified ok. What am I to do? I have accepted my fate.”

“You should have complained to me instead of keeping quiet. Who did I offend that they are taking out their vengeance on my son? Dayo, you have changed. This hanging out and womanizing has to stop; I mean every word.”

‘Who will stop him? He cannot stop; it is in his blood. He obviously doesn’t want another child with me. I am waiting for him to bring an illegitimate child home; the matter will be closed.” Fila responded.

“Fila suru ni o. You have to be patient. I know you are very angry now but that is life. Just patiently and with prayer win your husband back.”

“Mama, leave this matter. Let him enjoy. He has money now so he is misbehaving. My father helped him attain this height and this is how he repays him. He refused to help with his treatment and he refuses to give me money to start a business to help out. I know one day all this will come to an end.” Fila stood up to leave saying, “excuse me Ma. Let me check the food in the kitchen.”

“Dayo, when a woman becomes nonchalant like this, there is a problem oh. She can do and undo. Try and be nice to her. Why aren’t you having s–x with her?”

“Why should I have s–x with a woman that nags all the time? She is always complaining of one thing or the other.”

“Are her complaints unfounded? Have you had a heart to heart talk with her reassuring her or you are doing bragado? Dayo, do not use your hand and ruin your family. You are over fifty and it is the same issue we are still discussing. It is just getting worse by the day. Is it because her father cannot fight for her again you are doing this?”

“Mami, fi le. I will handle the situation; I promise you.”

Fila had listened in on their conversation. She was tired of the marriage. Dayo treated her like dirt. She heard from a reliable source that he bought a girl a car. She confronted him and he withdrew her car. Now she jumps around in buses and he doesn’t care. She also doesn’t mind. She made up her mind that she would deal with him for all her suffering in his hands. She had kept her cool all this while because she wanted her strategy to be solid before she executes. He will not go scot-free.

Dayo was fed up with Fila. She behaved so childishly and annoying. Other wives removed their eyes from what their husbands do and show him love when he returns but her own; she turned to CID, CIA, FBI and so on. She kept complaining and reminding him that he rode on her father’s back to attain his success. Well, he paid the price. Her father frustrated him to the point of no return. He had to atone for his indiscretion by almost worsh¡pping the ground he walked on. He dictated what happened in his home and made his daughter lord over him. He got her a fantastic job so she could rub shoulders with him. How would he get her such a high paying job when he was still struggling if he didn’t have ill intentions towards him? He played along. He tolerated all her bullshit just so he could survive on stipend. When it looked like he had been an obedient dog, her father gave him an opportunity. He made very good use of it. He delivered the job. The political leader was impressed and gave him more jobs. He did them and that was how he met the man’s wife. She was young and beautiful. She had a strong hold on the man and his decisions. He began to entice her. He gave her small but special gifts each time he was around. He didn’t hide the gifts to give her; the husband was always there when she received them but she understood.

“What do you want?” she asked him on the phone.

‘I want to be with you.”

“I am married and you are too, so how do we manage it?”

“You will know how best to handle it.”

She created the opportunity and they both didn’t regret. He made her very happy while she ensured that he got contracts directly no longer through his father-in-law. He began to make money. She linked him to other politicians and he did jobs for them successfully. He was now connected to the high and mighty and trusted to do some dirty jobs. He took them and always delivered. He became their right-hand man. He no longer needed her; he had proved himself to them. He dumped her like a piece of rubbish. Before long her husband fell ill and died. She became irrelevant. She began to sleep with her husbands’ friends just to gain favours and money as her husband did not change his will to include her. Dayo rejected her. He refused to help her and never went near her again; she was only a means to an end.

Dayo knew there was going to be a change of government with the new circles he moved in. He aligned with the opposition and took advantage immediately. His father-in-law lost out and Dayo became very prominent and rich. It was payback time. He refused to assist his in-laws in any way. Stopped Fila from work and made her redundant. He liked the way it was going. Her father was dying and she was helpless to do anything. She took orders from her father instead of him. She couldn’t try that now. Each time they fought, he stripped her of possessions and rights. She was losing her willpower to continue to fight; he had won. He had plans of throwing her out of the house and bringing in a new wife; a 23 year old he was currently frolicking with.

Fila felt it was about time. She took all his bullshit because her father asked her to hold her peace and watch what happens to him. They deliberately told him that they had nothing to care for her father and he believed. He never visited. He told her he was waiting for her father to die so he would throw a party in his honour. She was sad and utterly disappointed but as her father rightly said, she had to be patient.

They were able to fly her father abroad with her mother through someone like her husband her father helped. Immediately he was settled there, she decided to deal with him. She asked the same man for a job to help care for the father but instead, he awarded her a contract through her father’s company. She executed the contract successfully. Dayo never knew what was happening. She had been running her father’s company for months; he was unaware. She was preparing her exit but she wanted to leave him just as she met him; worthless.

Her friend took her to see an old man who could help her with her plan against Dayo. She went there with his picture and outfit in case they requested for it. This was not something she ever believed she could do but she had a burning desire for vengeance against Dayo. She was ready to do anything. There was no turning back.

“Madam, the revenge you have planned for your husband is already on his head. The man will suffer in this world.”

“Suffer ke? He is enjoying as we speak. He has money and he is spending it on others but leaves me penniless. I want him dealt with.”

“I am telling you that you don’t have to do anything, there is already a dreadful punishment hanging on his head. Very soon it will start to manifest. It will shock you. You will not wish what will happen to him on your worst enemy. I cannot cancel that one for what you want; that one is by far more terrible.”

“Baba, so we should just be patient?” Fila’s friend asked for her as she could see she was worked up.

“Beni. She should just be patient.” Baba replied.

“Babe, make we dey go. I believe this guy; na sure guy.”

They left there. Fila was disappointed but her friend reassured her that she believed the baba. He could have collected their money and told story but he refused to collect money. It shows he knows what he is doing.

THE DEED…

EPISODE 12

Her patience paid off.

“Fila, Fila, come here.” Fila came to Dayo wondering what the problem was. “Take off your clothes.”

“What for? Why? What does this mean now?”

“I said take off your clothes. Ah, mo gbe. Fila, take off your clothes. I will kill somebody here oh.”

She quickly took off her clothes and she watched him strip too. He came to her, touched her but he had no reaction. He had no er×¢tion. He did everything to get himself excited but nothing was happening.

“Dayo, what is happening?”

“Fila, I am finished. I am finished oh! Who did I offend that had to punish me this way?”

“What happened? Explain everything to me.”

“I went to my friend’s place. Em em em”

“You went to your girlfriend’s place, so what happened there?”

“She did everything to make me er×¢t, nothing happened. She did it for over an hour nothing. I thought it was stress so I rested a while and we tried again, Fila, nothing happened oh.”

“Nothing happened? This thing just stayed dead? How come? Have you been to the hospital?”

“No. I thought you did something to me so that it will only stand for you.”

“You must be mad! Why will I waste my precious time to do such? When last did you touch me? I would have done something to kill you instead of fighting for a limp “kini”. I am sure it is your girlfriend that put such idea in your head. Better go to the hospital.”

“Fila, I am scared. Go with me please.”

“I am looking for money for my parents; I don’t have time for this. Go and meet your girlfriend to go with you.”

‘Please Fila, go with me. I will give you the money for your father. How much do you need?”

“N3,000,000. It will take care of his medication.”

“Let me transfer it. Please come with me.”

She was surprised that Dayo came to her for help. Why did he? There must be something. She went with him to the hospital. Tests were done and they all came back negative. He was advised to rest for a while.

The rest didn’t help one bit. He was too embarrassed to leave home. He tried every way to have an er×¢tion but it was not happening. Fila was getting worried too. What can be the cause of the problem? It was affecting Dayo; he was behaving funny. He made her promise not to tell anyone but she had gotten to her wit’s end. She called his parents to house to inform them of the problem at hand but she wanted Dayo to disclose himself.

“We are here Fila, what is the problem.”

“Ma, Sir, Dayo is sick o. He has refused to tell you and made me promise not to disclose. I can’t keep quiet anymore; it is affecting him. Let him tell you himself.”

“Mgbo, Dayo, kiloshele? What happened?”

“Nothing ma.” He replied eyeing his wife.

“Dayo, we are your parents. Whatever the problem is, we can help you solve it. You do not know more than us. Tell us and the problem will be half solved.” His father replied him.

He was embarrassed but he was also in a tight corner. He didn’t have a choice but to tell them what was happening. His mother stood up and threw herself on the floor wailing. His father had his head in his hands. What kind of calamity was this? Fila sat down too. She was downcast. Dayo was behaving like a mad person hence she had to let them know.

“What do we do?”

“This is not a problem of medical science. Let us take him to church for prayers.” His father suggested.

“Church won’t do anything. Let us take him to Ede, there is a powerful Ifa priest there.”

“What are you saying? Have you been going there behind my back? We are taking him to church.” His father responded to his mother in anger.

They went to the church. They prayed for him extensively. The prophet came in and prayed. The prayer warriors joined in the prayers in tongues. After the prayers, the prophet sat with them and spoke.

“During prayers, it was revealed to me that your son has offended someone who is taking vengeance on him.”

“So what do we do?”

“Well, he should beg the person and pray that the person accepts.’

“Who did you offend?” his mother asked.

“I don’t know ma. I don’t know.”

“If he doesn’t know, then how do we find the person?” his mother asked the prophet.

“That is what I saw. He should think about who he offended and ask for forgiveness.
