PROLOGUE:
His breathing, laughter, smiles and weird sounds he make when drinking, I knew them all.
I figured out his favorite food, perfume and his exact height, but all these didn’t necessary mean I would get in his heart.
Being his first wife never meant I was his favorite nor the love of his life, each night I watch him move to her room, no one else but queen mona quarters, his fifth wife.
He only laugh with her, smile, kiss and touch her….not even once did his eyes land on me, not even once did he touch me.
But my heart flash for him the very day we tied the knot, the way his dark eyes stared at me, how he smiled at others but not me.
Surely it won’t be unfair to yearn for more things from my husband, it won’t be required for me to prowl on him, just to catch a glimpse of him.
I knew all that but still, kissed him, it only took one night to steal a kiss from him, in his quarters and that too without his awareness.
Every night I watch him sleep, I could finally breath the same air he breath, could lie beside him and even steal small kisses from him.
My pleased moments ended when he got hold of my arm, his twilight eyes creep into mine and the only word he uttered was ” such audacity”
And then I knew my satisfied days are over.

CHAPTER ONE: WEIRD APPROACH
Waking up, I open my eyes gradually and gentle, they is wholly nothing to do today, just having my breakfast and spending the rest of the day in my quarters reading.
” Milady ” hearing fang voice, I turn side way and stare at her angelic face, she is the only maid I permit to wake me and dress me up ” your bath is ready.”
” I need not get up this early fang!” Snarling I hide my face under the pillow ” leave me to sleep more ”
” But today is the day” her suspense made me lift my head up and peek at her, her verdant eyes light up the moment she got my engagement ” lord Muchen will be leaving the palace this morning, you could see him before he step out ”
” That’s today?” I asked and she nod immediately” why didn’t you say so ” getting off the bed, fang rush with her words to stop me.
” He will be leaving with queen Mona milady ” that cease my movement, my gaze remain down.
” Oh” looking up I fake a smile ” where are they headed?” Sitting right back on my bed, fang has that look again, look of pity and despair ” don’t give that look”
” Forgive me milady ” she mumble ” I have no knowledge on their destination”
” That’s fine ” I spread back on the bed ” I should just relax a little before I take my bath, I can watch them from the window ” closing my eyes, I exhale, today is not the day I will feel sad, am use to catching sight of them everyday……it shouldn’t make a difference to me.
” Milady, they are there”
Hearing that, I sit up and proceed to the window, lord Muchen slowly help Mona onto the horse, I didn’t miss the look he gave her, the smile, how he stare at her ” I have always wondered fang ” gaining her attention, I pureed ” what nationality is queen Mona from, I know she isn’t Chinese” anyone could tell from her average height, slender body, pale skin, blue eyes and blown hair.

She look completely different from the king other wife’s, I mean we all have dark hair and dark eyes.
” She is from England milady ”
” Oh ” looking at her, I smile. I hate her, have always hated her, it’s true I want what she has, I want lord Muchen, the king to look at me differently, I want him to smile at me, I want him to touch me.
I have been his wife for five years and still yet, he knows nothing about me, never touch or even speak to me. He might not even know he has a first wife or others.
Queen Mona is just his recent wife and he is all over her, I have never seen him like this with anyone else ” your bath milady ” looking outside, I watch how they leave the palace, this early, they are already today.
Why won’t they just leave quietly, why display it for everyone to see? Attention seeker? ” Fang?”
” Milady ”
” Who is prettier, me or her” turning around, I look at fang, her eyes enlarged ” answer me ”
” It’s you milady, she does not hold a candle to your beautiful” what an obvious lie, no one need to tell me before I know my place.
Smiling, I chuckled ” thanks fang, you’re really good at cheering me up ”
” Anything for you milady” moving to the bathing chamber,took off my garment and I slowly step into the bath tub filled with rose petals, my favorite” what’s my agenda for today fang ”
” Breakfast by eight, library by ten, lunch by twelve, a nap then dinner ” nodding my head I look at the rooftop, boring. So boring.
” Milady, the clothes you ordered ” fang whisper to my ears ” the maid outfit arrived last night, in your clothing closet ” receiving that news, I look at her
” Really”
” Yes milady, you can sink into lord gang quarters with ease now, I even bought glasses ”
” Thank you fang ” holding her hands, I watch her tear up, she is always emotional.
” I just wish the king notice you soon ” she sniff” you really do love him ”
” Cut it out fang ” I frown ” you know we have talked about you crying every now and then ” I warn and she nod
” Forgive me ”
” Hurry up with my bath, I wish to move to his chambers now that he is away, what could be his favorite book now? I wish to read it ”
” Yes milady ”
That took twenty minutes, before I could put on the maid uniform, a black dress with weird embroidery design, tying my hair into a tight bum, I use a very frugal pin I found last night and no make up ” how do I look fang ”
” Very poor milady ” she mumble ” but you do have flawless skin ” smiling at her honesty, I nod
” Remember to let out the balloon, if lord gang is close to the palace gate ”
” Yes milady ”
Picking up the glasses, I put it on then hurry out of my quarters, I stare at the maid who are headed to the king quarter, I swiftly join in with them, my gaze focus down throughout the walk.
Successfully getting in, I made my way out of the crowd and into the hallway, the whole place quiet, I stare at the painting placed on the wall ” they are beautiful” smiling, I giggle softly ” so this is the air, gang breath ”
Moving towards his chamber, I open the door gently, step in and shut it close….the walls are painted black, his favorite colour is indeed black.
Opening his cloth section, I sniffed his scent and smile but I couldn’t help but to cry a little, this is hurtful….is this even love or obsession, I don’t know the difference anymore.
The king won’t touch me and no one else is allowed to touch me, I am the king wife after all, moving to the table next to his bed, I sit gently on the bed then pull out the book from the drawer ” HOW TO IMPRESS”
I chuckled at the title of the book, the king is such a softie, he truly love Mona doesn’t he, laying on the bed, I place the book on my chest and close my eyes, this isn’t so bad, I get to breath in his chambers.
Why do I keep doing this when I always end up crying.
Am so stupid.
But then it’s not wholly my fault, I was brought here quite early, being only seventeen, leaving my home town and for five years, the king show no curiosity in me.
Then why do I love him? Why do I obese over him?
Hearing voice approaching, brought me out of thought, I look through the window and gasp at the balloon that is out, why is he back so early.
Getting up my heart won’t stop beating, when the balloon appear two I knew for a fact queen Mona is with him, what should I do? They can’t see me here, rumor will spread, my reputation.
Without thinking, I move under the bed and at that moment the door open with soft chuckle, my only prayer is for them not to find me.
Or else am done for.
” Milord, that was hilarious” Mona voice was soft and gentle ” I didn’t take you for the sweet type ” I frown, hearing their conversation is the worst thing to happen to me.
” That should not surprise you milady ” he mumble ” I certainly will do more than that for you, you did look quite ravishing today ” she chuckle ” you did say you had something important to tell me milady, what is it ”
” Milord ”
” I have no more patience ”
” Am pregnant ”
Hearing that one word, my eyes widen and I gasp, the fact that they might have heard me didn’t ring in my head….just her horrible news, her giving birth to the crown prince is the worst thing ever.
Her being the crown prince mother, is the worst…..it should be me!!
