THE RED MOON
(A New World)
Season 2
Episode 1

Written by Bright Daniel
:
In a cemetery, people lined up in black atires. The population wasn’t quite much but prominent individuals like Sir Rick, chief in command of the police, and other politicians would not miss the burial. Black sunglasses could be found on their faces, reflecting radiation like a smooth bald head of an old wizard. It was Michael Nelson’s burial popularly known as Kira. Though Gezos city had the joy of being free by his killings with the death note but someone like Dera showed how much she loved her brother by weeping seriously in the cemetery. She wept even more than she did for her late father. A white handkerchief occasionally went to the base of her sunglass to dry dripping tears. She stood beside her twin sister, Vera, who showed no emotional attitude. Her eyes fixed on the casket like the eyes of a baby who monitored the movement of the mother’s l-ips wondering what she says. Beside her, stood her boyfriend, Lucky, who was also Michael’s friend before his death. Nelly and Debby didn’t miss out. They could be found on the second roll staring at the casket too. None of them believed Michael turned out to be such a deadly terrorist in the city and eventually died. Why would he die without leaving the death note for me? Debby wondered. She never gave up in search of the death note. She wanted it by all means but how would she get a hand on it especially now Michael is dead and Shakiti gone?
Opposite the crowd of people and the casket was a priest who stood with a bible to bless the grave before the body is finally laid to rest. He raised his two hands up in conclusion but a voice from a distant did not only interrupte him but also the crowd. They all turned to the direction to see a young boy shouting and running at the same time as if had a jumping spring on his feet. “Kira is still alive! Michael Nelson isn’t dead!!” Even an ant couldn’t swear to be deaf to the voice of the young boy. Everybody heard him loud and clear. Police men prevented him from coming closer but Sir Rick ordered for the freedom. He met him.
“What is it that you said, young boy?”
“My eyes saw Kira with a box at..”
“Young boy,” Sir Rick interrupted. “Do you realize that Kira’s burial is going on here?”
“I know what I saw!” the young boy’s boldness moved the crowd. They directed their eyes back to the golden casket one by one. The same thing rang through their minds; confirmation of Kira’s dead body in the casket. Vera became the first person who ran to it and open it forcefully. She looked at the staring crowd who anticipated curiously to hear from her.
“He’s gone” she finally said with an incredible voice.
“No way!” Sir Rick rushed to the casket just like others. They saw it empty with only a white and red fabric that was used to decorate the in,side. “How possible?” he muttered.
Weathered leaves from trees in the cemetery began to fall off like a natural snow from the sky. The next quietness that dashed into the midst of all worth being told as the appropriate atmosphere which should be recognized in a cemetery, but Sir Rick’s movement sent the tranquility to exile. Though he was the only one in motion but the sound of his movement was like that of a thousand horses running to war. He met the young boy. His eyes contact with him was like the eyes of a female student on her cell phone camera, trying to take a selfie in the public.
“Where did you actually say you saw Kira?” his voice was not only bold but also fury which subdued that of the boy’s that came out dryly like a fainting dog.
“On the street, sir”
“I need a name and location”
“Acura street, in,side an.. an..” the young boy dropped dead instantly before he could finish his statement. Everyone gasped in disbelief that Kira was back to life coz only him could cause the death of the young boy. Seeing that, an overwhelming joy rushed in the heart of Dera, knowing that his beloved brother was still alive. Debby also became happy coz she believed that the death note was still in existence since Michael is still alive. Nelly, Lucky and Vera didn’t find it funny. Fear and anger battled with them in their pictorial gland.
Sir Rick commanded their men to go straight to the named location. He followed them too. But before then, Debby had already dashed out secretly.
:
Breaking news that Kira isn’t dead became the next wave both in the internet and physical among other means of communication. Tension went back to the heart of every individual in Gezos city like the people of Israel before the red sea who knew that the Egyptians were behind, coming to kill them. Yes, Michael was alive again ready to eradicate vices and kill his enemies. Thus, creating a new world. He was stronger, wiser and fearless this time.
At the residence of the twins, Lucky, Sir Rick, Vera and Dera stood in the sitting room after they had searched everywhere for Kira but couldn’t find him. A television set at a corner broadcasted the latest news while they remained quiet looking at one another.
“I want you all to stay out of this. The police gonna handle the investigation about the return of Kira and I promise we must see him go down six fit on the ground this time around” Sir Rick promised. “If anything comes up, don’t hesitate to inform us” he wanted to leave but Dera’s voice brought back his attention likewise Lucky and Vera. They all stared at her.
“I won’t allow anything to happen to Michael again. I’m not with you guys on this. He is my brother and I love him so much”
“Are you insane!?” the twin sister, Vera, approached her closely with a violent expression. “The person you call our brother killed me, killed Henry, your boyfriend, and set the city ablaze. Have you forgotten all this?”
“But you are alive with the help of the life note, moreover, you caused your own death by revealing Michael’s secret at the first…” a sound slap on her cheek by Vera returned the remaining worlds into her mouth. She held her cheek and raised her head. Tears circulated her eye balls. “Let this be the last time you raise your hands at me” she warned.
“Just as it gonna be the last time you say nonsense with your mouth” Vera returned the warning, hers seemed to be more mean and serious.
Dera left the sitting room at the very sight of others. Sir Rick was as speechless as Lucky. They couldn’t do anything but watched the drama like a child with much concentration on the tv program , ‘Tom & Jerry’
Sir Rick stepped forward. “I think I gonna start my investigate with your sister, Dera, first” he said.
“Trust me, Dera doesn’t know anything about the sudden disappearance of Michael from a casket” Vera replied.
“But how can he be alive?”
“Only the life note can bring him back to the land of the living” Lucky interfered.
“Then in whose possession is the note?” Vera asked.
“Ashanti, the god of life. My instincts tells me that Michael is with both the life and the death note now. We should be more careful” Lucky concluded while they became quiet.
Suddenly, Dera heard Sir Rick and Lucky’s footsteps from her room, going down the staircase. They found their way out of the house while Vera met her in the room. She ignored her presence to the dressing mirror where she pulled her black attire one by one until only a white p-nt remained on her wa-ist. A side of it seemed to puncture into the covy line of her butt, so she placed a finger at the very side of the p-nt and slid it out in a way it had the original shape, covering that side of the butt. She turned to the sister who sat on the bed, surged forward to her half unclad as if to commence a l-sbian p-rnographic video.
Like a palm wine tapper looked up at the palm tree to examine it’s maturity, so as Dera looked up at her from the edge of the bed to examine her next movement. The same DNA formed them from conception coz the resemblance was inseparable: small eyes, narrow face, pointed nose, fairness, dimples and other artificial body make-up they applied.
“Listen, Dera” Vera began, thus bringing the room to life like a cricket that suddenly began to chirp in a lonely forest. “I’m sorry, I slapped you. We are the only remaining family here…”
“No, Michael is still part of this family” Dera dashed up as if never to give her attention again. She stood before the mirror and began to undress too. Her ear-rings were the first target. Though she never looked at her sister but her ears were opened to her from her.
“Michael is a different person now. He doesn’t care about us anymore. He has gone from bad to worst. As far as Gezos city is concern, he is wanted and must be killed again”
“He cares about me and i love him” said Dera, she turned to face her sister also half unclad. “I think you’re scared to know what Mike might do to you again. Why don’t you make peace with him, huh?”

“Someone who wrote my name on the death note isn’t my brother” Vera concluded, therefore silence returned to the room like where a bucket of water was used to quench a roaring fire.
Just as they proceeded in dressing up, the sound of footsteps which seemed to have entered into Michael’s room came loud and clear to their ears. They looked at each other, wondering if the sound came live or they were actually watching a scary Horry movies.
Dera dislike such movies coz it scars her. When she was sixteen, her sister paid much attention to a horry movie that displayed on a flat television screen found in their living room and encouraged her to watch with her. The title of the movie was ‘The Deadly Mark’ screenplayed by Bright Daniel. When the movie became more thrilling and scary, she scre-med! She did not only run into Michael’s room but also embraced him in a way she buried her face on his chest like a bird taking a refuge from the mother’s feathers. Michael rolled his eyes as if to say: THIS GIRL HAS STARTED AGAIN.
“Dera, what?!”
“Tell Vera to change the channel, the movie is scary!” She replied from his chest. Her voice sounded like a chick thrown in,side an empty drum.
“Dera, it’s just a movie”
“No!”
“What do you want me to do now?” Michael spread his hands.
“Come watch with me” she finally raised her head, looking at the brother, but her hands still engulfed his body.
“Will that make you less scared?” Asked Michael while she nodded her head positively with a twisted face. “Alright let’s go” Michael smiled as he followed her. Both really loved each other like sibling.
Now, it wasn’t a movie anymore when the footsteps came like a walking ghost, but a reality. No doubt Michael was the one who entered into his own room. But the question remained whether he entered as a ghost or a living being. Fear gripped the twins. There were still half unclad, though with just trousers and b-ra. Being so afraid, Dera ran close to her sister in a way she stood behind her.
“Did you hear that?” she whispered.
“Ssshh” Vera signed with a finger across her l-ips. She proceeded quietly to the door while the sister followed closely like soldier ants crossing a lonely road. Yet, noises kept coming from Michael’s room.
They surged forward after opening the door of their own room, proceeding to Michael’s room. The door wasn’t totally closed but one had to push it widely open before having a view of whosoever that was in,side. Dera’s heart glitched at the tip of flying out of her body. She quivered in fear. Nevertheless, Vera summoned courage which she used to pushed the door open forcefully. Lo and and behold Michael still in a mortuary attire; black trouser and suit, white stockings and gloves. He turned swiftly to the direction of the door which scared the twins. They scre-med, wanting to run away but Michael’s voice put only Dera to a stop while Vera ran downstairs. She wouldn’t hesitate to call the police.
“Dera, don’t run from me!” was the voice that suddenly put the young girl static. She turned to see Michael coming out from the room until he stopped at a distant.
“Mike?” her voice came like that of a p*ssycat.
“It’s me, alive” he replied.
Dera slowly met him, took him by the hand, looked at his face and said, “You are really alive? Oh Michael!” She broke down in tears and hugged him tightly. “I thought I’ve loss you. I miss you so much!”
Michael said nothing but reciprocated the hug until both got satisfied.
“What happened?” Dera began an interrogation.
“I don’t know. I found myself in a casket in,side a mortuary. I discovered that immediately I left the vicinity, my casket was carried out for burial. I dodged from familiar sight to this point” Michael explained.
“A young boy came shouting at your funeral that you’re still alive. Why did you kill him with the death note?”
“What?” an attitude of confusion manifested on Mike’s body. “I didn’t kill anybody. I mean, I’m not even with the death note anymore”
“Then who did the boy see and what killed him?” was the last querry that came out from Dera’s mouth dryly.
Suddenly, they heard footsteps from outside. Dera checked through the window to see that Vera had called the police, so she turned to Mike, “The police are still after you. You need to run”
However, Sir Rick with his colleagues including Vera had surged forward from the staircase. The sound of their movement circulated the house like the sound of a grinding machine. All came in to see only Dera staring at them. Vera stood closely to Sir Rick who took one more step forward, glaring at Dera.
“Where is he?!” he shrieked.
“Where is who?” Dera became bold.
“Where is Michael you were speaking with, idiot!” Vera interfered.
Dera disdained her. She totally ignored Sir Rick, bypassed him to her sister and said, “If you don’t provide an evidence that Michael was here, you’re the most stupid and the biggest idiot”
Silence took over the room as Sir Rick and his men directed their eyes to Vera to speak with an evidence. However, Dera waited to recieved another slap from her sister, but she had swon within herself to return something more than a slap to her if she tries it. Therefore she boldly stared at her just like the Policemen……
