Joyner and I stared at for about a minute over a cup of coffee..

He was grinning and my hands were shaking..

‘Well Ari,spill the beans out let me hear it??’…He said breaking the silence and I cleared my throat..

‘Well just as you know,you spend a night at my hostel and the next morning you left,I finished dressing up and was walking like a normal person to you dorm only for three guys to block my way,i tried to escape but they didn’t let me go’..i said and broke down in tears..

‘T..t..they took me to a dark room and one of them decided to rape me,I..it was the most painful experience I’ve ever felt and the others tried and they also slept with me so you can say that I was raped by three men’..I added..

Joyner covered my hands with his and cleaned the tear that slid from my eyes..

‘Ari??’..he tried to say but I cut him short..

Today is my birthday and I’m five years old today!!!..

‘Today is your birthday and I sing to let you know,that you’ll be a queen forever wherever you may go’…Mom sang and I giggled …

She brought out a little cupcake with five candles on it just like she does every years and laid it in front of me..

‘Thank you mommy’.I muttered while rubbing my eyes and blew my candles…

I’ve always wanted a bigger cake and a birthday party but mommy always tells me that there’s not enough money for a party..

So I have no other choice but to be content with the little I have…

I was busy wh¡pping up some cream when Ariana walked in with a smile on her face..

‘Whoa someone is really happy today?’..I commented and she laughed..

‘Well today’s Heathers birthday and she’s five so yeah I’m happy’..She replied..

‘Whoa Heather’s birthday is today and you couldn’t tell me?!!,when is the party starting??’..i asked obviously excited..

Ariana just sighed and dropped her bag on the kitchen counter…

‘I’m not celebrating anything Joyner,I don’t even have money to bake a cake not to talk of org-nizing a party’…She said and I smiled…

She changed into her chef uniform and put on a hairnet..

‘So what’s the menu for today,let me start cooking’..She asked and I smiled…

‘The only thing on the menu now is the cake we’re going to bake for Heather and I’m off to the market to buy party supplies,we’re going to celebrate Heather’s birthday’…

‘Really Joyner,y..you really want to do that for H..Heather??’..I asked totally lost for words and he nodded…

‘Yes Ariana like I said before,I wasn’t there for you when you really needed me but I’m going to be there for you now I promise so let’s start baking shall we??,by the way where’s sizzle master??’..He replied and I cleaned the tear that slid off my eye…

Before I could answer the question he asked me,my cook book appeared suddenly and we both laughed…

‘It still does that doesn’t it?’..Joyner asked and I nodded…

‘She just follows me wherever I go and sometimes it’s frustrating cause Heather always bombards me with questions about it’..I said…

I opened my book and then the face I always avoided for four years appeared with a smile…

‘Finally you both are together again’..Sizzle master said and I smiled…

‘Good day Sizzle master please recommend a recipe for a five year old birthday cake??’..i asked and she disappeared into the book…

Few seconds later the pages flipped and then I saw the recipe…

‘Hmmmm chocolate walnut cake??,isn’t that too sweet for our Heather??’..Joyner asked and my l-ips squirmed…

‘Our Heather??’..i replied and he snorted nervously..

‘I’m sorry but I get carried away sometimes,do you want me to go pick Heather up from school??’..He asked..

‘Yeah thanks but don’t tell her about her surprise party okay?’..

‘Okay?’.

What is wrong with me Joyner Lucas?!!!..

Our Heather??..

Why would I say something like that?!!…

I drove as quickly as I could to Heather’s school cause they were closed already…

As I parked my car and came outside I saw Heather sitting on a small stone by the school’s courtyard and from the looks of it I think she’s in tears…

‘Hey Heather what’s up?’..i asked as i crouched down to her position…

‘H..Hi Uncle Joyner’..She sniffed and cleaned her tears off her face…

‘So why’s my little princess crying??’..i asked again..

‘Y..you wouldn’t understand Uncle Joyner’..She replied…

I smiled and carried her up in my arms tickling her which made her laugh so hærd until she almost peed…

‘U..Uncle Joyner I’ll pee in my p-nts please get me down!!!’..She scre-med and i carried out her wish…

‘So what’s the problem my sweet?’…

‘Well Uncle Joyner some kids were making fun of me,they said i don’t have a daddy’…

Now I get it..

She just doesn’t feel like the others just because she’s raised by just her mother…

‘Don’t worry Heather I’ll be your daddy for a while’..I said trying to make her feel better…

‘Ohhhh really Joyner?!!,you’ll be my daddy?!!’..She cried out excitedly and I nodded..

‘Yes my love so now smile for daddy will you??’..I said and surprisingly she k-ssed my cheeks.

Just as I was putting finishing touches to the cake I felt a hand on my shoulders…

I turned around and it was a Joyner with Heather…

‘Ohhh Joyner you’ve ruined the surprise!!’.i scre-med and k-ssed Heather’s cheeks..

‘Well i couldn’t keep it a secret from her Ari,she begged me to’..Joyner replied…

I laughed and finally wrote the last letter R with an icing bag…

The cake said and i gently carried it outside…

‘You always wanted a real cake Heather and here it is,happy birthday darling’..I said with tears in my eyes and she smiled…

‘Thank you mommy,thank you daddy’…She replied and I was taken aback…

‘Did you just call Joyner your daddy?!!’..i asked and she nodded then blown on the candles…

Everyone in the restaurant clapped and i k-ssed Heather’s cheeks again…

‘What did you wish for Heather?’..i asked..

‘Don’t worry mommy,you’ll find out very soon’…
