★ His Return ★

THREE DAYS LATER

“Welcome back, sir” Milly greeted as soon as Frederick got out of the lift.

“Anything new since have left?” Frederick asked.

“No sir, the important ones have been faxed to you” Milly replied as she help him open the door.

“Okay then” He replied.

“Welcome back dude” Lucas greeted as soon as he walk in.

“I forgot to tell you about Mr Lucas waiting for you ” Milly injected shyly.

“It’s okay. You can get back to your task” Frederick said dismissing her.

“How was las Vegas?” Lucas asked as Frederick took his seat.

“Hectic. What brings you here? ” Frederick asked rubbing his brows.

“Can’t I come to welcome you?” Lucas asked innocently.

“Have told you severally to give a good reason each time you lie. I know you too well to tell that you are lying right now” Frederick stated which got him smiling.

“Okay, you got me. Actually have been meaning to ask you this ever since I heard about it”

“What?”

“Is Tiffany your girlfriend. I went to see Grandma Cassandra the other day and she told me about the dinner” Lucas asked looking very curious.

Knowing how Inquisitive Lucas is and since he doesn’t keep a thing from Lucas, he told him every thing including his confession part.

“Really? So what did she say?”

“Nothing. I told her I will give her three days to think about it and today makes it the third day. Do you think she’s going to refuse?” Frederick asked.

“Am not sure. Girls like Tiffany are hard to predict, she doesn’t strike me as the gold digging type and she isn’t the romantic type either, so it’s in between a yes, I will marry you Frederick and a no, I can’t marry Frederick” Lucas said teasing him.

“Get lost if you are only going to mock me” Frederick snapped.

“There’s no need to get mad and instead of staying locked up here, you should join in the company field day event, you know it’s happening today right?” Lucas asked.

“I know and am not in the mood to join in”

” Fine then, you won’t be able to see Tiffany since everyone goes to their respective home when the event ends ” Lucas said non chanlantly.

“Tiffany is at the event?”

“Of course. I saw her leaving earlier with her colleagues and also the development team are there which means that Philip, your rival is there with Tiffany” Lucas informed and that got Frederick out of his seat.

“Lead me to the event” he said which got Lucas hiding a grin….

GLOBAL AD FIELD DAY EVENT

As soon as Frederick and Lucas got to the event arena, they were led to the vip seats.

“Where’s she?” Frederick asked when his search to find Tiffany amongst the hundred people present in the stadium was to no avail.

“How do you expect to find her amongst this….have found her” Lucas said suddenly.

“Where?”

“Don’t freak out but she’s currently with your rival participating in the sports” Lucas replied.

Frederick gaze drifted to the field ground where he saw Tiffany and Philip together and they were both competing in the two legged race.

On seeing this Frederick grip on his chair hardened and that’s due to the anger and jealousy he felt at that moment.

“Are you okay?” Philip asked Tiffany who nodded in reply as they kept walking ahead of the three other competitor.

“I just feel a bit dizzy” Tiffany replied.

“If you are sick, we can end the game and….”

“No! Let’s win this” Tiffany said in a rush.

“Fine then I will support you from behind” He said putting his arm around her waist some thing which got Tiffany’s heart pounding in excitement.

They got to the finish line first, Tiffany and Philip did a high five in excitement and added to it Philip lifted her by the waist spinning her around.

“You did a great job Fanny” He said smiling down at her while she stared at him with so much love in her eyes.

She was still smiling when her gaze drifted off to the others and it met with a pair of angry blue eyes.

She gasp out in shock which got Philip starring at her.

“Are you okay? ”

“Yes. I just got another one of my dizzy spell, I need to use the ladies” she said giving her excuse.

“Do you want me to come with you?”

“No! ” She yelled in reply as she took to her heels to the nearest rest room.

“When did he arrive?” She muttered starring at herself in front of the mirror.

*”Am leaving for a three day business trip but when I come back, I hope I get your answer “*

Remembering his words, she cursed herself for not keeping that in mind.

“He surely will want to get my p answer on his proposal” she muttered as she began thinking of how she will tell him about her decision.

She was still in thought when she walk out of the rest room but on seeing Frederick leaning against the wall, obviously waiting for her. All thought disappeared.

“Come with me” he said taking hold of her hand and pulling her out of the stadium and straight into his car.

Philip who had been going in search of Tiffany stop mid way when he saw Frederick pulling her into his car.

“Why are they together?” He murmured watching the car as it drove off.

“Stop the car” Frederick ordered Willow who immediately park by the side way.

“Leave us alone, when we are done talking. I will let you know” Frederick said to Willow who got out of the car as ordered.

“Are you going out with Philip?” He asked suddenly and that got Tiffany starring at him.

“Of course not!”

“Then why were you so close to him? Why did you let him carry you? Why did you let him touch you?” Frederick asked.

“We were playing a game and physical contact is bound to happen. There’s no reason for you to be angry, you make it sound like I did some thing bad” Tiffany replied softly.

“You did! Knowing how I feel about you, you shouldn’t let any man get close to you cause it drives me nut” he admitted and that got her starring at him.

“Mr Davies, I….”

“Frederick, my name is Frederick” he cut her off abruptly.

“Fine then, Frederick. You gave me three days to think about what you’ve said and this is my answer. Am grateful for your feelings towards me but am not that grateful enough to marry you since I don’t feel the same way” She said making him feel sad.

“People hardly get married for Love, it’s not a must that you feel the same way I feel before you marry me” he countered.

“I don’t think the same as you and everyone else. If am going to get married, I will be getting married for Love and nothing else. So I suggest you find some one else cause I can’t reciprocate your feelings” she stated firmly.

“Why? Because you are in love with Philip?” He asked shocking her by his revelation.

“How on earth did you know that?” She asked.

“Am not dumb to notice the look you send to Philip though he is more dumb for not realising your feeling” he said harshly.

“He is dumb for not realising it and am more dumb for still loving him. It’s a good thing you know since that will make you see that I have no intention in getting involve with you. Excuse me ” she said getting out of the car.

She was only a few distant away from the car when he took hold of her arm.

“Running away won’t make my feelings go away” he said.

“Am not running away” she denied hotly.

“You are! You do it all the time” he countered which got her looking away in guilt.

“Now listen up, Tiffany. Have known you were In love with Philip and yet I still fell for you and so, am not going to give up”

“If you reject me, I will keep proposing to you again and again until you accept, so brace yourself cause I intend to be a part of your life” he declared and pulling her back to his car, he help her into it.

“And don’t even think of running away cause no matter where you run to, I will find you ” he added before closing the door.

“Take her home ” Frederick said to Willow.

“What about you sir?”

“I will get a taxi just take her home and make sure she’s safe” he said to Willow who quickly left to do his bidding.

NEXT DAY~ GLOBAL AD COMPANY

“So do you intend to give up?” Lucas asked as he and Frederick made way into the company the next day.

“Never. I intend to make her my bride and my bride she will be” Frederick replied hotly.

“But she doesn’t feel the same way as you”

“That’s the biggest part of it all but I know that I will end up claiming her heart and that can only happen if we are married” he stated.

“Okay. Let’s leave the future in the future and talk about the present which is why is Tiffany walking off in a rush?” Lucas asked starring at Tiffany who quickly got into the lift.

“What else? She’s avoiding me” Frederick said in reply.

As they made their way to the next lift, he pulled out his phone and sent a text to her.

“You can’t avoid me forever” he murmured as they got into the lift.

LATER THAT DAY ~ EVENING

★ AVOIDING ME WON’T GET RID OF MY FEELING NEITHER WOULD IT STOP ME FROM MAKING YOU MY WIFE, SO STOP AVOIDING ME ★

Tiffany read the text as she left the company with her colleague.

“So Vivi is out and you are in right?” Sophia asked which got Tiffany starring at her in confusion.

Thanks to Frederick bothersome text, she’s been lost in thought all day.

“Am sorry, what did you say?” Tiffany asked.

“I asked if you are going to the karaoke with us?” Sophia asked.

“She’s probably too busy to come” Peter said starring at Tiffany.

“I don’t have a busy schedule at night, so I will be happy to go with you guys” she said which got Sophia screaming in excitement.

“What are you guys up to?” Philip asked as he came to join them.

“We are going for a karaoke night, do you want to join?” Sophia replied.

“Sure. I have nothing to do at home and so I better join you guys” He said putting his arm around Tiffany shoulder.

“Have been meaning to ask you some thing” he whispered to Tiffany when Sophia and Peter got busy trying to get a taxi.

“What?” She whispered back.

“I saw you getting into the president car yesterday. What’s that about?” Philip asked.

She was saved from giving a reply when the taxi arrived.

“What should we do? He says he can’t take us four but can only take us three” Sophia said relaying the taxi driver message to them.

“Then you three should go ahead, I will get another taxi” Tiffany suggested and though Philip rejected the thought she won anyway and the three ended up leaving in the taxi while she wait for another one

A black Range Rover stopped in front of her and it wasn’t until the back door open revealing Frederick that she realise who the owner is.

“Get in” he ordered but she hesitated.

“If you don’t get in, I will be forced to carry you. Is that perhaps what you are wishing for?” He teased lightly and that got her getting into his car.

She was quiet through the whole ride and if she hadn’t been preoccupied by her thoughts, she would have realise that Willow was taking her to Frederick’s pent house.

“This isn’t my home” she said getting out of the car.

“I know, I asked him to bring us here cause I wanted to spend some time with you” he replied.

“I can’t be here, am suppose to be at the karaoke bar with my friends”

“And does that friend of yours include Philip? ” Frederick asked.

“Yes it does” she answered hotly.

“Then you don’t have to go” he said taking hold of her hand and pulling her into the pent house which was decorated with Lights and balloon.

“What’s all this?” She asked as he pulled her in.

“A surprise. I got this all done hoping to soften your heart towards me” he replied.

“This might be pretty and all but it’s not enough to get a woman to say yes ” she said mesmerized by the beauty surrounding her.

“I know and that’s why this isn’t really my surprise”

“Don’t tell me there’s still more of it” she asked but he didn’t give a reply.

She watch him go into a room and he came back out carrying a little kitten in his arm.

“Oh my God! It’s a cat” she said in joy as she took the little kitten from him.

“You sure are crazy about cats ” He said watching her.

“I am but how did you know that I love them?” She asked.

“Apart from preparing this surprise, have been checking out your social media handle and that has got me finding out about your love for cats” he replied.

“You didn’t have to” she said setting the kitten on one of the sofa.

“I had to since you will be my wife” he replied.

“Frederick, I haven’t agreed to be your wife” she said reminding him of her earlier decision.

“I know but I have this feeling that you will be my wife”

“Frederick you….”

“Do you know how sexy my name sounds on your lips?” He asked moving towards her.

“And what does sexy have to do with calling out your name and will you stop coming close” she said moving back wards while he kept coming until she hit her back against the wall.

“Frederick don’t force me to be rude, you certainly won’t like me when am rude” she said bravely hoping it will ruin the perfect image he has of her but that only got him smiling.

“Go ahead, have been rude to people and they have also been rude to me. Adding yours to it won’t surprise me at all” he replied as he move closer to her.

He was very close and she was sure that he intend to kiss her but upon Willow’s entrance, he moved away.

“Am sorry about the intrusion sir but here is the meds to use for your allergy” Willow informed.

“Put it down on the table, thanks” Frederick said as Willow did as he said before leaving the room.

“You’ve got an allergy?”

“Yes” he replied checking the drugs out.

“What sort of allergy?”

“Am allergic to animals with furs” he replied starring at the kitten which was meowing at them both.

“If you are allergic to it then why on earth did you buy it?” She asked.

“Because you love it” he replied.

“I might love it as you’ve put it but it’s life threatening for you” she said.

“Are you worried about me?” Frederick asked jokingly.

“Am not joking right now!”

“And am not joking either. I bought the kitten because you love it so to hell with my allergies” he replied.

“You are crazy!” She let out in anger.

“I am crazy. Very much crazy about you” he added which got her sighing out in frustration.

“Am taking this in, so feel comfortable till I get back and don’t think of leaving” he said leaving the room.

A while later Tiffany was cuddling the kitten in her arms when she realized that Frederick has been gone for long.

“Where is he?” She thought as she decide to go find him.

It took her a while but she manage to locate his room.

She found him in bed, all covered up and asleep.

While she has been waiting down stairs, he has been sleeping in his room, she thought as she turned to leave only to hear him cough slightly.

Remembering his allergy, she went towards him and touching his forehead, she was startled to find it cold.

“Are you okay, Frederick? Should I call a doctor or perhaps Willow?” She asked.

“No….it’s going to go soon” he said softly.

“But still….am going to get Willow” she turned to leave only for him to pull her down on the bed.

She layed beside him and he wrap his arms around her.

“What are you doing?” She asked trying to pull free.

“Getting your warmth. Just stay with me like this and I will be fine soon” he said holding her tighter.

“But this isn’t….”

“Your warmth is all I need” he said cutting her off.

Knowing that he won’t let her go, she relaxed in his arms and let him get her warmth.

“If you are seriously allergic to furs, you shouldn’t have gotten me the kitten” she muttered but he heard.

“What else can I do? It’s one of the ways I know to win your heart” He said softly.

“Other people would have tried another way and not one that will put them in danger” she said.

“But am not other people. I am me and you will end up loving this me” he murmured and that got her shaking her head.

“Just get some rest” she said.

Tiffany woke up only to see that it was getting late.

Her father would be worried, she thought as she gently got out of Frederick’s arm.

Putting the quilt over him, she left his room and went back to the sitting room only to see Yvonne sitting comfortably in one of the sofa.

“You’re finally up” she said glaring at Tiffany.

“If you are going to create a scene then it’s best you know that nothing is going….”

“I don’t intend to create a scene as you’ve put it. I just want to make some things clear to you” She said getting off the sofa and walking towards her.

“Frederick is mine! He is only using you to make me jealous” She began.

“After that day at his office, I did some research about you and I got to know more about your background”

“Oh really? What did you get to learn?” Tiffany replied hating that fact that she had her investigated.

“That you are a poor she devil, a poor girl who thinks that she has landed gold with Frederick. Just so you know, Frederick isn’t a guy who takes girls like you seriously. To him you are just like an adventure, he pursue and when he has conquer, he discard. If you don’t want to be amongst those girls he has discard, I suggest you get out of his life” Yvonne let out in anger.

“You can be rest assured that I don’t intend to be a part of his life. He is all yours” Tiffany replied as she pick up her things to leave.

She was at the door when she turned to Yvonne.

“And also aren’t you part of those girls he has discard? How come you have no shame and keep returning. I certainly wouldn’t do that if I were in your shoes” Tiffany said hitting a point.

As soon as she was out of the door, Yvonne threw her shoe against it in anger.

“You bitch! I will make you pay for that insult” Yvonne vowed…..
