Dave House:
(Rose sat on the living room watching TV when Dave was seen coming to meet her, he was dressed for work.)
Rose: Good morning my dear, I prepared your favourite jollof rice you will eat before you head to work.
Dave: (checks his watch) I am running late for work, can I have the car key?
Rose: Which of the car keys is my love?
Dave: The one you were given as your wedding gift.
Rose: Oh it’s in our room drawer table dear. (Dave went back and entered their room taking the key from the drawer and took it. He left the house without a word to Rose.) I wonder what is eating him up.

(Rose was seen cooking in her kitchen when she heard a knock.)
Rose: (Going to answer the door) Who is it?
Mrs Lillian: It’s I Rose.
Rose: (Recognising her voice she quickly opened the door and smiled widely on seeing them.) Good afternoon aunty, good afternoon Uncle. (She allowed them in and they sat down on the sofas.) How did you locate my house aunty?
Mrs Lillian: I met your husband on my way to work two days ago, he was the one who gave me this address.
Rose: You are welcome.
Mr James: Your house looks nice Rose.
Rose: Thank you uncle.
Mr James: Without wasting much time, we came here to give you this. (He brought a cheque from his br-ast pocket and gave it to Rose, who collected it.) From me and my wife.
Rose: (Shocked seeing the amount.) Uncle 10 million naira for me?
Mrs Lillian: Yes Rose, use it to start up a business that will be fetching you money, is not everything we lady’s will ask our husband to buy.
Rose: (Going down to her knees) Thank you Aunty, thank you Uncle. God will bless you both for me, you will live to see your great great grandchildren.
Mr James: Amen rose, please get up.
Rose: (Getting up and suddenly remembered she put something on the fire.) Let me quickly go and check what I put in fire aunty.
Mrs Lillian: Alright my dear.

(Rose who was seen preparing to go out alongside with her husband, she went to the table and couldn’t find what she was looking for.)
Rose: Honey, please did you see the cheque I showed you last night which I was given by my uncle and Aunty
Dave: Yes Rose, I am with it, is there any problem?
Rose: You are asking me is there any problem Dave? I was given that cheque to cash it out and use it to start a business and-
Dave: (Interrupting her) is that why you are dressed up? Anyway I want to use the money for an upcoming project of mine, once my project yield I will give you back your 10 million, then you can start your business.
Rose: Dave, I need that cheque right now, it is my cheque, my money. You don’t have the right to take it without my permission. First of all it was my car, ever since that day you drove it out of this compound I have never set my eyes on it again, and you want to do the same to this cheque, my money, no, it works. I need my cheque.
Dave: So Rose you are not running your mouth as a parrot just because of this chicken money given to you by the James family. (He brought out the cheque and tore it into many pieces and threw it at the shock face of Rose.) That is your cheque, you can now eat it.
Rose: Dave you tore the cheque that was given to me? My 10 million naira. (She moved to block him from moving and held onto his suit.) My 10 million naira, have you ever touched that kind of money before in your life?
Dave: If you don’t let go of me right now I will show you why I am called Dave. (When Rose didn’t make any move he pounced on her and beat her.)

(Rose who was seen in another room with some bruises on her face. She was with her phone and dial her mother number which was picked at the third ring.)
Rose: Mama good evening.
Mrs Juliet: Evening my daughter, how are you and your husband? Hope the both of you are fine?
Rose: Mama we are not fine.
Mrs Juliet: What do you mean by that Rose? Did something happen?
Rose: Mama, Dave raised his hands and beat me today.
Mrs Juliet: What?
Rose: Yes mama, you need to see the bruises on my face.
Mrs Juliet: Tell me what really happened. (Rose told her.) You could have kept quiet and allow him cash out the money and then ask for your share. If he didn’t give you any part of the money then you should have reacted.
Rose: Mama he took the cheque without my consent and you said I should have let him be?
Mrs Juliet: Exactly Rose, if you hadn’t blocked his path and grabbed hold of his suit he wouldn’t have lifted up his hands to beat you. Just go and apologize to him.
Rose: (Sighing) I have heard you mama. (She ended the call, stood up from the bed and walked out of the room.)

(Rose entered the room she and Dave both shared and saw him writing on some file.)
Rose: (Standing beside him) I am sorry for the way I acted this morning. (Dave didn’t reply to her.) Dave I said I am sorry.
Dave: Who did you call today to report me?
Rose: Only my mother tonight, I have not called my aunty or my uncle.
Dave: Okay, if you want my forgiveness don’t call your uncle or aunty and tell them what happened.
Rose: I won’t Dave, I promise not to tell them, I’m I forgiven?
Dave: Yes. (Rose hug him from behind)

Mr James Duplex:
(Mrs Lillian phone was seen ringing on the table in the sitting room, she quickly left the kitchen and grabbed her phone.)
Mrs Lillian: Hello my dear.
Junior: Good morning mum.
Mrs Lillian: Morning my son, how are you doing?
Junior: I am fine mum, what about you and dad?
Mrs Lillian: We are all fine, how is your studies?
Junior: Fine mum, how is Rose and her husband?
Mrs Lillian: They are fine Junior.
Junior: I have to go to class now, I called to hear your voice mum, later.
Mrs Lillian: Okay Junior, bye.
Junior: Bye.

Dave House:
(Rose and her husband was seen sleeping when Rose suddenly hold her stomach and cried out holding her stomach. Her scre-m alerted her husband who woke up.)
Dave: What is it Rose?
Rose: My stomach (Dave saw blood coming out from rose legs. He quickly dressed up and carried her to his car and drove off towards his family hospital.)

Hospital:
( Dave and the doctor was seen seated in the doctor office.)
Dave: Doctor what is wrong with my wife, is she going to be okay?
Doctor: Your wife will be okay Dave, she has a miscarriage.
Dave: She is pregnant?
Doctor: Was pregnant and lost her baby. She will be discharged tomorrow and will need a lot of rest once she gets home.
Dave: Okay doctor, can I see her now?
Doctor: Sure. (Getting up to his feet as Dave did the same.)

Dave House:
(Rose was seen praying to her heart content, telling the Lord to bless her with a child and cancel any miscarriage in her life.)

Mrs Juliet House:
(Mrs Juliet who was seen washing some clothes and stopped when she saw her daughter.)
Rose: Good afternoon mama.
Mrs Juliet: Rose my daughter, you did not inform me of your coming.
Rose: I know mama, sorry I didn’t call to inform you.
Mrs Juliet: No wahala, wetin bring you come here?
Rose: Mama no be matter wey I go fit talk for outside, make we go in,side.
Mrs Juliet: Oya you go wait make I finish washing the clothes. (She went back to wash the remaining clothes, rose helped in drying the clothes. Soon they were through and they entered in,side the house going to their door, opened it and entered. She sits) Go and sit down Rose and tell me what is wrong?
Rose: Mama I lost my pregnancy, I had a miscarriage.
Mrs Juliet: How?
Rose: After my fight with Dave.
Mrs Juliet: You see why I told you, you shouldn’t have confronted him, anyway I believe God will surprise you.
Rose: Amen mama, by the way where is Ikenna and Chidi?
Mrs Juliet: Ikenna went to visit a friend of his to copy his assignment while Chidi went to meet chief Emeka if he could accept him to serve him.

Dave House:
( Rose was seen setting food on the dining table and called Dave.)
Rose: Honey your food is ready. (Dave stood up from the sitting room and walked towards the dining table.)
Dave: (Sitting down and opening the cover plates to see boiled yams and fried eggs.) Rose, didn’t I tell you I don’t want to eat yam and eggs?
Rose: Yes dear you told me but I have already used the money you gave to me to buy the yam and eg-.
Dave: (He gave her a slap standing up) I gave you my hærd earned money and told you what I want to eat tonight, Eba with bitterleaf soup, but you went to prepare something else for me. You can eat your food, rubbish. (He hissed and left the dining table, Rose still holding her cheek.)

Shopping Mall:
(Mrs Lillian came to buy some beverages in the shopping mall. She was around putting what she wanted in a trolley. Someone tap her shoulders.)
Mrs Lillian: (Turning to see who it is) Rose! (They hugged.)
Rose: (Bringing her trolley towards them) Good afternoon aunty.
Mrs Lillian: Afternoon my dear, how are you and your husband?
Rose: We are fine aunty. How is uncle?
Mrs Lillian: Your uncle is fine.
Rose: And Junior?
Mrs Lillian: Junior is fine, he is doing very well over there.
Rose: Praise God ooo, I came here to buy something.
Mrs Lillian: Same too. (They walked together taking what they will buy)

Dave House:
( Rose was seen cooking in the kitchen when her Dave came into the kitchen with a white shirt on his arms)
Dave: Rose, why did you burn my clothes?
Rose: (Stops what she was doing and turns to face Dave.) Sorry my dear, it was a mistake. I wanted to tell you after dinner.
Dave: (showing the huge burnt mark to Rose.) You called this a mistake Rose?
Rose: Yes dear, I didn’t do that purposel- (He Interrupted her by slapping her. Holding the side of her cheek) Dave did you just slap me even when I pleaded?
Dave: If you say one more word I am going to beat you black and blue, did you know how much it costs me to get this shirt?
Rose: But I said sorry Dave.
Dave: You are still talking after I said you shouldn’t talk. (He slapped her once again and a fight ensued between them and Dave got the upper hand and beat Rose.)

Dave House:
( Rose was seen crying out her eyes.)
Rose: (soliloquy) I have lost another pregnancy again because of him, God what is my offence, it’s almost six years I got married to Dave and I have lost almost five miscarriages due to one circ-mstances or the other. I am tired of this marriage, tomorrow I will go and stay with my mother until he comes and beg me.
Dave House:
(Rose was seen parking her clothes into some boxes.)
Rose: I can’t continue this marriage anymore. It’s better for me to leave this marriage now that I am still alive and not when I am dead. The constant beating is much, I am fed up.
