Episode 28.

Eva promised herself not to shed a tear at the death of her neighbor, Deborah, after all she did and for the fact that she took her life.
But when she read the letter Deborah wrote before her suicide, her tears wetted the paper.
“What a world, one never understands the sadness clouded by a smile” Sandra shook her head after reading the letter.
“Truly, you are right, Sandy, people see the smile but never the pain. Still, I think Deborah shouldn’t have ended her life for the sake of the child she cherished” Jake said.
“She was…good, why did she have to store her depression in,side instead of getting a counselor or confiding to a friend” Eva stated.
“It’s over now, let’s not grieve more than the bereaved. At least, I know Benny won’t be subjected to suffering” Sam advised.
Deborah’s note contained an apology to her neighbors whom she has offended, how to contact her parents and Benny’s father.
Also, a brief story of her life that led to her sad ending. She wrote that she didn’t want to live and dream of a life that will never come.
A summary of her life that she ended herself because the man she waited for every single day is happily married abroad.
It took Eva a great effort to get to her parents whom took Benny wh0leheartedly and arranged their daughter’s burial ceremony.
Meanwhile, the man in question, Benny’s father, was said to have been around to see if he would take Benny with him but Deborah’s parents used connection against him.
Benita denied him and forbade herself from having anything to do with him and chose her mother’s parents over him.
He had no other option than to leave and stay away from Benny, the girl’s bold step to reality must’ve stunned him enough to send him away from Nigeria.
Eva’s joy was the fact that the girl has grown up enough to differentiate between good and bad before her mother’s death.
And again, Deborah’s parents loved their grandchild. The last time she checked, the girl confirmed that she’s doing okay.
Sam, Eva, Sandra and Jake, inclusive of other neighbors and friends went to Deborah’s interment and in just a few days, Eva hærdly recalls her face vividly.
She felt a bit relieved going about arranging her friend’s wedding until Christmas slipped by, she can’t wait to see Sandra step into her new home.
Sam committed himself to reviving his company and being a better husband, he felt delighted when another company ventured to invest in his company.
The first thing he did during the first day of January was granting a surprise to his wife.
“If I tell you, how will it be a surprise!” He laughed when he was induced by Eva to tell her the surprise.
“Whatever, I don’t have any spare time to go see a surprise today, I want to stay here with my children and cook a delicious food for them, it’s new year”
“When we get there, you will have more space to cook for the wh0le neighborhood, dress up!” He threw a pillow playfully at her.
“I think I have a clue of where you are taking me to, your parents house, right?” She raised a brow and picked up the pillowcase.
“I told you to dress up and not guess, Niger gossip mill!”
“Who?”
“You of course!”
“That’s why you are gradually loosing weight” She laughed and sent the pillowcase flying towards him.
“Ouch!!” Sam’s head hit the bed’s headboard when he wanted to dodge the pillow, he held his head purposely and feigned a faint.
“Oh no!” Eva ran to him immediately, “honey, are you okay?” She sobbed.
He refused to move even when he knew she’s at the verge of tears.
Fear gripped Eva and she ran into the bathroom to fetch water, the water almost landed on his face when he jumped out of the bed laughing loudly.
“What sort of a wife are you? Can’t you give me mouth-to-mouth respiration?” He teased taking the water away from her.
She stood mopping at him for a while before she opened her mouth slowly to talk, “How can you joke like that…gosh! My heart!!” She gasped sitting quietly in the bed.
“So you could have wetted the bed, huh?” He took the water back to the bathroom and joined her in the bed.
“Idiot” She chuckled, “you will pay for this”
“I didn’t do anything wrong, you actually wanted to murder me” he smiled and squeezed her hand. “Okay, what’s my punishment?”
“Very good! Close your eyes, no cheating!!” She pushed him to the bed and bent over him.
“Don’t worry, I know what your plans are, I will take the punishment at the place we are going. It’s very spacious and comfortable, it will take us eternity to explore it!”
“Now I know, a hotel? Honey, its not appropriate for us to…”
“Shhhh, seriously? So am taking you and our children to a hotel room? You never cease to amaze me”
“Where is it, then?”
“You just want me to disclose my little surprise, your spell is not working, dress up! I will take care of the kids” he smirked.
He pecked her and left the bedroom laughing at the look she’s giving him.

Eva gazed at the new house still shocked by the fact that it is our new home and in wonder of how it came to exit, I guess.
Bob and his siblings ran around the w¡der and beautiful garden working hærd to touch and feel every flower.
“Sam…what where you saying?” She drawled blinking repeatedly as she glanced at me.
I drew her into my arms and smiled down at her, “I said this is our new home, sweet Eva”
“I feel so dizzy, I think am imagining things” She said moving slowly away from me.
“Honey, look at me” I tilted her head up so she would look at my face, “I love you so much and I want to live the rest of my life proving it to you”
“Sam, this is too…”
“No, nothing is too much for you, for our family. Of everything that has happened to us, I only learnt that family should come first and foremost”
“How did you…this is expensive and…” She obviously didn’t know how to put her words together, tears filled her eyes.
“Honey, trust me. I know I can’t give you all the best in the world but I will try to give you all I have because you deserve it and even more”
She stared at me with blurry vision as tears grazed her cheeks, “I’m sorry”
“For what?” Now it’s my turn to be surprised, what has she done wrong that she is apologize for?
“For all the times I misjudged you, for hurting you both intentionally and unintentionally, I don’t even know if I deserve you” she buried her face in my chest.
“No, I was the one who was wrong, I’m sorry for hurting you with my actions, okay?”
“Thank you very much for everything, my world” she smiled at last wiping her tears.
“That’s the smile I have been waiting for, you just brightened my day” I hugged her.
“I love you so much!” She jumped into my arms and crushed her l-ips on mine.
I broke the k-ss after some while and beamed at her out burst, “I’m glad you know am your world!” I smirked.
“I will make you float on water and fly in the air tonight, that’s your punishment, charge up your energy, Mr. World!” She winked.
“You have charged me up already, you no dey feel am?” I joked.
“Wait, I have to see the house and know where to start exploring first, the garden is wide and beautiful, impressive!” She practically sprinted to the garden.
I stood and watched my family, I felt happy and wished I had more to give them.
“What more can a man wish for if not to find the right person and be blessed with the fruit of her womb” I soliloquized.
“Dada! Momma!” Kate’s voice made me laugh out loud as I joined them in the garden.
“It’s Mummy and Daddy!” Tyrone laughed at his sister’s pronunciation.
“She’s still young, Tyrone” Bob shunned him.
“Dad, we all are going to Aunty Sandra’s wedding right?” Rose inquired loudly over her brothers voice.
“Yes, honey. All of us!”
“Can I invite sister Benny too?” She asked again.
“Your mother already invited her and her grandparents” I smiled at my sweet Eva as she minded her business walking around the swimming pool now.
I’m sure she’s thinking of what she would do to me over there when she gets the opportunity.
I’m convinced Jake’s new girlfriend will catch the magic on Sandra’s wedding, he’s serious about her and I’m happy for him.
