CHAPTER TWENTY-SIX:
“Where are your parents?” I asked Flo who was just coming out of the kitchen.
“They’re off for work. Any problem?”
“Dionne. Are you sure he’s still at the backyard? ”
” That’s true, let’s go check it out. ” We went to the room I was last night, our eyes w¡dened as we saw no body, not blood stains as an evidence.
“Where did he go?” Flo asked.
“But… But he was right here yesterday.” I stammered.
” Yes, but not anymore. “His voice sounded from behind. We flinched, we stared at each other for a second then at him.
“So even after you had seen me injured, you still wanted me dead?” He looked at Flo, ” it’s really been a long time since we met, you’re getting beautiful everyday. ”
” Hi, Dion. “She waved with a fake grin.
He smirked, looking back at me. ” Why do you so much hate me, Lora. What more can I do to prove my love to you?”
“Don’t you think of acting like you care. This isn’t an hollywood movie okay, and it’s naturally obvious that you’re fake. Who in her right sense would want to have you as a boyfriend? ”
He smiled, sighing.” Okay. Flo, I need you to give us some privacy. ”
” Flo don’t. “I stopped her, ” she’s going nowhere. ”
” Even if I’m dead, I still won’t leave. Dionne this is my house, do you expect I should just walk away like you’re my father or something? You know, I should probably be the one asking you to leave. Now, I’m asking, can you kindly leave my house? We both need some privacy too. ”
He rose an eyebrow. ” Is there something going on between you two? ”
” Yes. “We said in unison. ” We’re dating. ”
” You’re a lesbian? “His face wore an expression that tells how jealous he was.
” Yeah, it all started after you messed up. And I figured out that we aren’t just meant to be friends but more of it. I can show you if you want. Flo, come here. ” We k-ssed for a second then broke free. ” We’re real lesbian.”
He frowned the more. “Fine, good for the both of you. Well, I just want to let you know that I’m still coming back, for all of you. Watch and see how things becomes mine. Starting from you. ”
” You know, taking me away means you have to take her too, otherwise, it’s pointless. “He couldn’t say anything, he dashed away in full speed.
“Don’t you ever k-ss me again.” Flo pointed.
” Sorry, I’m straight okay and k-ssing my fellow girl s-cks. But I had no option, you saw the look in his eyes, he could have grabbed me if we hadn’t done that. ”
” Well, that was a cool act. But don’t you think he doubts us? ”
” That doesn’t matter now, what matters most is Elise and Mr Noméd. I think the wh0le war stuff is about to happen. ”
” We must inform Elise. ”
” Remember she isn’t with her phone and, we’re doomed if Mr Noméd dies. ”
” You mean my crush? ”
” No, I meant Elise’s boyfriend. ”
I eyed her, ” Whatever. ”

~ Elise’s POV ~
Démon and I left the others for a walk. Nothing still baffles me than staring at the most beautiful building I’ve ever seen in Las Vegas.
Everything about him looked sweet, great and full of extra ordinary beauty. He kept touching his ribs, as if it was reminding him of something.
“What is it?” I asked.
“Uhm.. nothing.”
“Nothing?” I repeated. “Well, you look like you’re lost.”
“I’m fine, Elise.”
“You’re thinking about the war if I may say. ”
He stopped, but didn’t look at me. Sighing. ” Maybe.” He continued walking.
“You think he’ll win?”
“No, I’m just scared he’ll take you.”
“Démon, nobody is taking me away from you. I’ll always be by your side, even till my last breath. ”
” I almost lost you last night. “He paused, still making no attempt to look at me. ” He almost had your blood.. almost.”
“But he didn’t. And do you know why? Because you saved me. ”
” No, I scared you. ”
I looked to the ground, I really was scared last night. Seeing him in his other self for the first time was a new thing and it’s not my fault for looking so frightened last night.
“That was last night. I’m not anymore.”I touched his cheek gently, “And I will never be afraid of you again. I’m scared of losing you too. Last night I thought you’d die, I thought you’d leave me.”
” I’m not gonna die, at least not now. Even if I will, I wish to die with him at the end of all this. ”
” You’re not dying, okay, no one is. Not Flo, not Lora, not me, not Miss Martin, no one.. and not even you. It’s easy for you to say that but you don’t know how much you mean to those who loves you. When Miss Martin stabbed that sword in you, I watched you pass out right on my arms. I thought you were gone, forever. ”
” I thought you’ve left with your promises. The wh0le time I watched your eyes closed, I saw myself as a loner, I lost hope… I lost hope that you’d survive. ” I sniffed. ” Now I’m standing right here with you, hearing you say you wish to die is so hærd for me to accept to talk of watching you die. Are you gonna leave me like Daniel did? Are you just gonna walk out of my life without a conscience? ”
” I can’t lose you, Démon, not you! I’m not ready yet, we still have a long way together. A new life to start, a new home to begin, and a future ahead. “I pulled myself to his embrace, ” tell me.. tell me you aren’t leaving me anymore. Tell me you meant all this promises you made to me. Tell me… ”
” I meant everything I said to you. “He broke the hug, staring into my already w-t eyes. “I meant the words.”
My tears gummed against his cheeks as our face met. He k-ssed me, and I didn’t hesitate to k-ss him back.
