Cindy adjusted her seat after hearing what Kylie said.
“Kylie, how are you sure he isn’t dead?”
“Yes, what if the Specie took him to.. get rid of him?” Lilly added but Kylie didn’t listen to them.
“I will search for my son and get him back by all means” Kylie said again, grinning her teeth.
“But ..”
“No but Cindy. No one will stop me this time, I will search for him”
“You have my support girl” Maddie said and Kylie smiled.
Cindy and Lilly were still scared of Charlie.
“Fine, I’ll help in anyway I can”
“I wish I could help but I’m leaving the city”
“It’s okay Lilly. I understand” she said.
“I just need to figure out where that son of a b!tch is” Kylie muttered.

Kylie was in the kitchen the next day.
She was cleaning up when Jasper rushed into the kitchen.
“Cindy told me you want to search for your missing son. Are you kidding me?” He said, almost yelling.
Kylie turned and stared at him.
“I’m not. I have no idea what Charlie is planning with my child. What if it’s something very bad that could harm us in the future?”
Jasper started to blink repeatedly. Kylie had a point.
She moved closer to him and touched his face.
“You just have to help me Jasper. I don’t want anything that would harm us in the future and it should be the own I carried in my womb for three months”
“Fine. I’ll help but I don’t want you doing this on your own. Don’t do anything silly without telling me”
Kylie nodded.
“Promise me!” He said, bringing out his pinky finger.
Kylie smirked and pinky promised him.
Jasper held the finger tight and drew her closer to himself.
He let go of her finger and wrapped his arms around her waist.
“What are you doing?” She asked.
“Nothing?” He said, smiling. He then brought his lips closer to her and kissed her.

“So Kylie, how are you going to do to find your son?”
“I have no idea mom. The three days I started searching is so tiring. I found nothing” she said to Elina, chewing her apple slowly.
“You don’t have to make it difficult for yourself. You can’t just see a child and be like, is that my son? Move on for now and one day, you will find him”
“That’s what everyone keep saying. I can’t sit on a spot and my child would crawl to me?” She said without certainty.
“How do you then intend to find your son?” She asked.
Kylie lowered her gaze.
“I marked him, with a knife”
Elina chuckled softly.
“How could you do that with a child?” She asked.
“I had a feeling something like that would happen but didn’t want to believe it. I saw the image of me crying but I didn’t know it would be because of my baby” she said, softly.
Elina sighed and cut another slice of apple for Kylie.
“You should go back to where he kept you and check if he’s there”
Kylie suddenly banged the table, making the sound frighten Elina.
“What was that for?” She asked.
“Why didn’t I remember that? I should go back to the cave and see if he’s back. I remember when he said the cave was where his ancestors lived for years before moving away from the city”
“He told you that?” Elina asked and kylie nodded.
“Has he told you any other thing? More like any secret?”
Kylie tried to remembered but she couldn’t.
“I don’t know. If I do, I’ll tell you. I have to go to the cave now” she said and stood up.
Elina nodded and gave her the last slice of apple. She took it and left Elina’s room.
As she ran down the stairs, Jasper stopped her.
“Woah woah! Hold on girlie, where are you off to?” He asked.
“No time to explain, just follow me” she said and they both left the hangout.

The day was still bright so they easily found their way to the cave.
Kylie got to the spot and knelt down.
Jasper furrowed his eyebrows. Kylie still hasn’t told him anything.
“What’s down there?” He asked as he watched Kylie clearing all the dead leaves from the ground.
He saw a small door and joined Kylie in clearing the leaves.
Kylie opened the door and stared at Jasper.
They both stared at each other till Jasper broke the silence.
“What’s down there?” He asked again.
“This is the cave where Charlie and I lived” she said.
Jasper diverted his gaze away from her.
Kylie knew he was upset already.
“I know you never wanted me to look for my child. But you also said I shouldn’t do anything without telling you”
“What makes you think he’ll be down there?” He asked.
“I’m not sure but I have to check” she said.
Jasper stared into the hole and they went into the cave.
“Woah! What place is this?” Jasper asked.
“That was the kitchen” she said, pointing at a dark room.
“What? I can’t even see any sh!t!” He said, straining his eyes.
Kylie smirked.
“This was my own room” she said and opened the door.
She brought out the phone and turned on the flashlight.
She saw the dried blood on her bed. She touched it and brushed her fingers on the bed.
“Why is there blood here?” He asked.
“I put to bed here” she replied.
“That’s crazy. No sign of anyone here. Let’s leave” he said.
“Where the f**k did Charlie take my child to?” She murmured.
“The question you should be asking is why does he live in a cave”
Kylie also never thought of that.
“I don’t know. Maybe he just love caves” she replied.
“Looking at the walls and everything. It’s been here for ages…”
“His ancestors own this place” she interrupted him.
“That’s it. I think the Species have a problem with light. Light I mean, sunlight”
“Yes, yes. Charlie never agree to hunt for me whenever it was day time but he does when it’s nightfall”
“We should look into this. Let’s go!” Jasper said and they left the cave, going back to the hangout.

They both went into the spell room.
The needed to ask the travel man some questions related to the Specie.
“We need to speak to you” Jasper said as he got into the room.
The old man turned and stared at them.
“Go on children. Class is over” he said to the little ones he was teaching. They all stood up and hurried away.
“What do you want to say little ones?” He asked and sat on a rocky chair, staring at them.
Jasper leaned on the table, so with Kylie.
“It’s about the Specie. When do they attack most?” He asked.
“Whenever they wanted to!” He replied with his cracked voice.
“No, not that. What time of the day?” Kylie asked, making the question clearer for him.
“Oh, it’s always night fall or midnight. They never attacked at daytime” he said.
“Bingo! I knew it!” Jasper cheered himself.
“There must be something up with them and the sun or anything related to light” Kylie said, biting her lips.
“I remembered years ago when we were attacked by the Species…” The travel man started a story.
“Did you mean Species?” Jasper interrupted as he shot his eyes opened.
“Yes, Charlie told me they were hundreds of them. They reproduce almost every month” she said and stared at the travel man to go on with his story.
“I watched as they tore apart the witches, vampires and even wolves. No one could defeat them at all. We never had any spell to kill them. We then thought of an idea and made a different spell. They attacked the next day but didn’t get to kill us. Do you know why?”
Kylie and Jasper shook their head like little babies. They wanted to know what they did to protect themselves.
“We made a protection spell. The spell protected us and they couldn’t devour us. This went on for about a month. When they saw they couldn’t do anything to us again, they moved out of the city” the travel man said, softly.
“That’s very bad. But the look on Charlie’s eyes, I don’t think he loved his people” Kylie said.
“Well, that’s it. Is there any other thing you would like to know?” He asked.
“Yeah, mom told me you refused to go back to the book”
“I will leave when the time is right” he said and shut his eyes. He didn’t want anymore questions.
Kylie and Jasper turned away from the travel man and walked towards the shelf instead.
“I’ll help you find Charlie and your son. But whatever we do, we’ll only do it during daylight” he said.
Kylie smiled and hugged him.
“Sure I would. Thanks Jasper. Thank you for risking your life yet again” she said and he laughed.
“As long as the Specie forget to burn my body, I’m safe” he said jokingly and they both laughed.
