🌀 Ethan’s POV 🌀
It’s been two days since I woke up and James and I are recovering at a fast rate
The doctor said we might both be discharged in the next two days
Many people came check on us
Addy’s Mom came, Jade’s friends came and Mrs Logan also came with a few students
“The prom won’t be holding till you guys are in a good state to attend” Mrs Logan had said and James was really happy
He has been blabbering how he’s gonna miss his highschool prom
Addy and Jade are always here and they are really supportive
“Do you know the one your heart wants now?” James asked when Jade and Addy had gone back home
“I like Addy, she’s nice, compassionate and so free with people” I said
“What about Jade?” James asked
“When I received that text that Jade has been kidnapped, I didn’t care about anything else and I forget about everything else, my thoughts were all about her. ‘Nothing must happen to her, I’ve not told her how I feel about her yet’ that was the thought that kept repeating in my head. Jade is courageous, she’s not afraid to state her opinion, she stands up for what she believes in, she’s like the complete opposite of me, she’s not the girly type, she’s different and I like the fact that she’s different”
“Woah, you love Jade, it’s obvious” James said “you should tell her”
“I’ve never said that to any girl”
“There’s a first time for everything and you also need to talk to Addy, it’s not fair if you keep her in the loop, she deserves to know that you don’t love” James said
“Yeah, I know and I’ll talk to her” I said
“Well, goodnight buddy, I’d love to hear more of your complicated love story but the bed is calling, I can’t keep it empty for long” James said as he stood up and I smiled
“Tomorrow then” I said
“Dream about me” he said as he left for his hospital room and I laughed

James, Addy and Jade are in my room
Sophie has resumed school again since she temporarily stopped going while I was still unconscious and Josh has started going back to work
“I cooked for you guys” Jade said bringing out a food cooler from her bag
“You can cook?” I asked surprised
“I just started taking cooking lesson, you guys should tell me how it is” she replied
I collected the cooler and James quickly opened it
“Wow, chicken soup” James wowed
“Nice choice Jade, I heard it’s good for quick recovery from injuries” Addy said
“Spoon spoon” James said with his eyes still on the food
Jade gave each of us a spoon
James and I both took a spoonful into our mouth
But I couldn’t swallow it
“Bathroom” James managed to say and we both ran to the bathroom and threw up in the toilet
“That soup is horrible” James said as we came out of the bathroom
“Don’t ever try cooking again” I said as we sat down and they all laughed
The door opened and the doctor came in
“You guys seems to be having some fun” he said with a smile
“Am tired of this hospital robe doctor, when can we get discharged?” James asked
“Tomorrow as a matter of fact” the doctor said
“Yes!!” We all said
“But your head bandage stays Ethan, your injuries are still healing and your chest bandage stays too James, both of you will have to come to the hospital every 3 days to get the bandage changed” the doctor said
“Okay” I said
“Not a problem” James said and the doctor left
“I can’t wait to be outta here” James said
“Me too” I agreed
I wanted to speak with Addy but we were all together and there was no way I could speak to her
“Am craving ice cream” James said
“You are acting like a pregnant woman James” I said
“Who knows, I might really be pregnant” James said and we laughed
“I’ll go get the ice cream” Jade said and left the room
“I was just joking but she’s really going to get it” James said with a smile
“Excuse me” I said and went out of the room too
“Jade” I called and she walked back
“James was just joking, you don’t really need to get the ice cream” I said
“It’s not a problem, I want to get it for him” she said
“Do you blame yourself for what happened to us?” I asked
“Who else is to be blamed if not me, I got kidnapped and put you all in danger so I’ll do whatever I can no matter how little, to make you guys okay and comfortable”
“It’s not your fault Jade, anyone could have gotten kidnapped, it was Cole’s fault” I said
“But am the one that he was after, you all got hurt trying to save me” she said with tears in her eyes
“He was after you cause you helped me while I was framed in school, so I think it’s my fault”
“It’s not your fault” Jade said
“Yeah, it’s not my fault, it’s not your fault, it’s all Cole so stop blaming yourself” I said
“I was so scared Ethan, when he was hitting you with the baseball bat you don’t know hurt I was, when you didn’t wake as the CPR machine was used on you I was really scared, I thought I was gonna loose you” she said in tears and I hugged her
“I was scared too” I said “I thought I was gonna loose you too but everything is fine now, it’s all in the past”
She withdrew from the hug and cleaned her tears
“Thanks Ethan” she said
“Still getting the ice cream?” I asked
“Am already out of the room, I should get it” she said
“Okay” I said and she walked away
I walked back to the room and James wasn’t there
“Where’s James?” I asked Addy
“He went to get his phone from his room” she replied and I nodded as I sat down
We are alone now, I should talk to her
“I need to talk to you about something important Addy” I said
“Maybe tomorrow, Mom wants me to come home early, today’s Friday night and it’s family night, goodbye” she said as she took her bag and left quickly
That was awkward
Moments later, James came in
“Where’s Addy?” He asked and I told him what happened
“Today’s not Friday, it’s Wednesday” he said “she probably doesn’t want to speak to you”
Maybe but I’ve got to talk to her
The door opened and Jade came in with four ice creams
He gave James and I one and took one for herself
“Where’s Addy, I also bought an ice cream for her” she said
“She went home” I replied
“Ohh, I hope she’s alright?” Jade asked
“Yeah, it just means more ice cream for me” James said as he collected the ice cream meant for Addy
Sophie and Josh came in the evening and we all hanged out together

The doctor just discharged us!
We are free to go home
Addy and Jade are here along with James parents
James pleaded with his parent that he wants to come to my house first and they agreed
James went with Addy on her car while I went with Jade on her car
“You don’t pack your hair in a ponytail anymore” I said as Jade drove
“Yeah thanks to you” she said with a smile and I chuckled
We got home and and James opened the door
“Welcome back” Josh, Dad and Sophie scre-med and Sophie blowed a whistle
“We made you guys a cake, you and James should cut it” Sophie said as she brought a cake
James and I cut it and they all clapped
We fed everyone with the cake and when I fed my dad, I hugged him
“Thanks for everything Dad” I said
He is always busy at work, it must have taken him alot to be here
Dad later left and we continued to hang out
“Prom is in the next two days!” Addy announced and we all shouted with excitement
“Shit, I haven’t gotten a prom date yet” James said
“It’s all of us James” Jade said and we laughed
Minutes later, Jade stood up to go
“I gotta go guys, am so tired” she said and we bid her goodbye
She walked out of the house and I decided to follow her
“Excuse me guys” I said as I walked out of the house
She was about entering her car
“Jade!” I called and she looked back while I walked up to her
“What’s it, did I forget something?” She asked
“No, I just wanted to ask you something” I said
“What?” She asked
“I….ummm”
“What is it Ethan?” She asked again
“I….. Will…. Will you go to the prom with me?” I finally managed to say
“You want me to be your prom date?” She asked
“Yes” I replied and she smiled
“I’ll love to be your prom date” she said with a smile
“So it’s a yes?” I asked
“Yes” she nodded and a smile crept into my face
“Thanks” I said “goodnight then”
She didn’t reply, she kept looking at me with a smile
“What is it?” I asked but she answered me with a k-ss on the cheek
“Goodnight” she said and drove off
I smiled and I went in,side the house
“Am so tired, I can’t take the bus now” James said as I came in,side
“Don’t worry James, I’ll drop you off” Addy said
“Awnn, you’re such a sweetheart” James said with a smile
I looked at Addy, I should really speak with her
“I want a lemonade” James said
“You’re crazy James, why would you want a lemonade now” I said
“Don’t worry, I’ll make it, do you guys have lemons?” Addy asked Sophie
“Yes, it’s in the kitchen” Sophie said and Addy went of to the kitchen
“It’s good to be sick, now I’ve got everyone at my beck and call” James said with a smile and shook my head
This guy is unbelievable
But I guess this is my chance to talk to Addy
I went to the kitchen and she was already cutting the lemons
“You know how to make lemonades?” I asked
“Yeah, it’s easy to make” she replied
“Addy” I called
“Yes” she answered without looking at me
“I……. About…..” How the hell am I supposed to start
“You don’t need to say anything Ethan” she said
She stopped cutting the lemons and faced me
“You are going to tell me that you don’t love me but you love Jade” she said
“You knew?” I asked
“It was obvious Ethan, with the way you risked your life to save hers and how you kept calling Jade’s name when you woke up, it’s obvious though I tried to avoid it, I knew you wanted to tell me but I wasn’t ready to hear it”
“Am sorry” I said
“It’s okay, I think it’s high time I accept the truth, I do love you but if you don’t have the same feelings for me, I guess there’s nothing I can do about it. I’ll just have to get rid of my feelings for you. Though Jade and I didn’t have a good start but since she changed and we became friends I’ve come to know she’s really a great girl, you should take good care of her” she said as a tear fell from her eyes and I hugged her
“Thanks Addy” I said
She disengaged from the hug and smiled
“That’s the first time you’re calling me Addy” she said and I smiled
“So we’re still friends?” She asked
“Of course” I said
“Okay, lemme finish up making James lemonade” she said and went back to making the lemonade
I smiled and left the kitchen
