CHAPTER 33.

Serving his highness breakfast that morning was awkward for Rosanne, she clearly had no idea why he cried earlier asking her if she was okay, and he wasn’t someone you ask questions randomly, Rosanne pursed her mouth as she walked into the crown prince’s room and gave a light bow when she saw him standing by the window.

She walked to his bed and carefully place his tray of food there.

As she was about to walk out, his thunderous froze her two feet away from the door.
“Leave me alone!” The crown prince had yelled.
Rosanne slowly turned to him, to see him staring outside the window in anger, she knew he wasn’t talking to her, but then again they were the only ones in the room.

“I… I understand.” Rosanne replied. Not caring if those words were actually for her, but who else could it be if not her.
The crown prince’s head snapped at Rosanne immediately. His eyes furious.

“I am not talking to you!” the crown prince spat.
‘Then who are you talking to?’ Rosanne wanted to yell. But instead, she breathed out a sigh and bowed. “I understand.” Rosanne stated before walking out.

“I’ll be leaving the day after tomorrow” The Queen said standing in front of her husband in her chamber.
“Let them know you’re coming, surprise visits aren’t always the best” The king added.
“No. It’s Hasting we’re talking about here and he has always recieved nothing but surprise visits from me. I know he doesn’t like me much, but if I give him any clue that I’m coming, who knows what he Might for.”

“That’s why you need to stay home in Orrander already” The king held the queen’s hand.
“You cannot talk me into staying Archibald, I’m getting excited already, I need to meet my son” The queen smiled, her emarald eyes showing no difference from her son’s.

“You’ve always been stubborn now Adalind.” The king sighed.
“It’s going to be alright.” The Queen laughed giving her husband a light k-ss on his cheeks.

“I am so disappointed in you!” Quincy, Martha’s father yelled at her. His veins could be seen as he yelled at his daughter. He had white hair all over his beard and hair but his strong and muscly body could frighten you at first sight.
“Gregory was one of the most acceptable boy from one the strongest household, and you told him you don’t want to get married to him? Are you insane?” Quincy yelled.
Martha said nothing, as she just listened to the loud voice and harsh voice of her father’s.
She was patiently waiting for him to stop talking whenever. She glanced at her mother at the other side of the room who seemed less concerned in their conversation.

“I am so tired of you!” Quincy spat. “I might as well just sell you off.”

“What?” Martha and her mother yelled in unison.
“Now that is just out of the line Quincy, I already gave her a piece of my words, but she’s just still stubborn, but selling her off? Why such low idea?” Betty shook her head at her husband.

“Because she doesn’t want to be the daughter she was born as.” Quincy yelled.

Martha finally spoke up. “so just because I didn’t agree on marrying Gregory, you’re going to sell me off? That would be much better than living here if I may speak.”.

“What the hell are you talking about?” Quincy yelled.
“I do not like Gregory… Neither does he like me. So how in the world do you want us to be when we get married?” Martha spat, refraining herself from getting mad.
“You think marriage is all about love? It’s not, one thing in Orrander is, you get married with or without liking that person, all you need is a strong family with great backgrounds behind you,” Quincy yelled.
“No. That is called greed, not marriage father, I do not want that!” Martha backfired

“You do not decide what you want. We decide for you, who gives you the right to choose who you want or want you want?” Quincy’s voice was deep and scary.
“I give myself the right, Orrander is filled with nothing but nonsensical rules, I dress this way, they judge me, I want this, they spit at me and say I cannot have it, why can’t we make our own choices, just like how you and mother got forced to get married, I will avoid that myself, I know you and mother got married because you were forced to and because of the damn rule in Orrander. I vividly see the despicable result forced marriage can cause, clearly from you and mother. And I do not want that myself. I rather stay alone than get forced to married, and if that takes chopping my hair off till I’m bald, I do not mind” Martha yelled angrily walking out of her father.

“Martha!” Martha heard her father’s voice call out to her as she walked out of the cottage.
“Martha!”.
She clearly ignored the old man as she walked out of cottage, slamming the wooden door.
And just as she stepped out and under the sky, Martha bumped into Garam, almost pushing him down the soil, but luckily his stamina was amazingly strong.
“Martha?” Garam called, as he noticed it was his friend who had bumped into him.
“Watch where you’re going you clum_
Garam stopped talking when Martha glared at him and walked away in anger. He paused and shrugged at her behavior before walking to his direction.

Rosanne gasped heavily, when she placed her hand into the letter box to see if her letter had been sent, she silently prayed it wasn’t her letter as she pulled the letter out from the letter box. She knew it was too early to check, but she couldn’t wait for her father to get her letter.

Rosanne gasped even loudly when she saw the familiar stamp on the letter that caused her stomach to churn in an exciting way.
“Garam” she yelled excitedly as she saw the stamp he always used when he writes a letter to someone, and it laid beautifully at the center of the letter.

“That means, the post man had sent my letter and I just recieved a letter from Garam himself, thank you Mr postman, for being the best letter deliverer.” Rosanne grinned as she walked back into the castle.
Striding through the ballroom, to go back to her room and figure out a way to tell his highness about her letter, she saw him standing at the corner of the ballroom, staring at her.

She paused. And her smile faded. It was like he was waiting for her.

She bowed, stylishly slipping the letter below her bow so the crown prince would see it and get as message that she was still as dumb as ever when reading or writing.
