Chapter 41

(THE NEXT MORNING)

Jason wakes up in a confused state as he looks around. Where am I? What had happened? Why… He looks at himself and realized that he was n@ked as it was just the mattress that covered part of his body.

Still wondering was he was doing there, he sees a lady crying besides his bed which made him confused the more.

“Why did you do this to me… Why— Why are you not satisfied?” She lamented.

“What happened… I mean what had happened between us?… I don’t remember anything”.

But instead, the lady cries the more and sniffs.

” I am sorry… I-I-I swêar I didn’t mean to… ”

” You didn’t? When you made me drunken with you and you drag me towards this room… I told you to stop but you didn’t… YOU’RE MONSTER!!! ” She said almost screaming.

” I’m sorry… I’m totally sorry… I will do anything to make it up to you for my mistake… ” he said truly regretting what had happened last night.

” Really? ” The lady turns to him and just then, he realizes it was actually Starlet. She now wipes off her tears, smiling.

Jason lowers his head as guilt covered him.

” Rosie… Tell me what actually had happened… You’ve been quiet, sitting on the bed all this while. What is it? ” Kalila says sitting besides Roseanna who had been crying after what had happened last night.

” Rosie, crying wouldn’t solve the problem. You came back since last night and yet you don’t wanna say anything… ” Diana added.

Roseanna sniffs she tries to open her mouth but nothing came out.

Hotel Room

Jason prepares to leave with questions still in his mind, just then he thought about Roseanna.

“Oh my… I totally forgot her. Where is she? I hope she is okay…” He muttered.

“Definitely she is Darling… I guess she forgot about you. ” Starlet says as she walks into the room in which Jason was.

Jason sighs, ” What do you mean by that? ”

” Ohh, you aren’t aware… or are you? Roseanna left you and stayed with someone else and I’m sure that if she was there with you… y-o-u would-n’t have done w-h-a-t you…” She pretends to cry.

Jason felt for her, he regretted his actions. He sighs, ” I told you I am sorry and I will make it up with you but please don’t involve Roseanna in such fallacy”

” Do you think I am lying… I saw everything… but you were drunken last night so you probably won’t remember anything” Starlet says and paused, watching Jason reaction, seeing him silent made her smile.

” Roseanna doesn’t love you!! ”

Roseanna falls sick through out the week and the following week. She missed her classes as she felt weak. She waited for Jason but he didn’t visit, she knew he was drunk so much because he would never go to that extent, but she had forgiven him.

She loses appetite and was no longer interested in whatever she wanted to do. She missed his presence and wished he would be with her.

A Week Later

Roseanna dresses up for school as she was now better after been away for two weeks now.

Kalila and Diana are both aware of her situation and really helped her out.

“Are you ready?” Kalila asks and Roseanna replies with a nod.

“Okay, let’s go”

Roseanna walks out of the room without saying anything. Kalila and Diana both looks at each other, shrugs their shoulders and sighs.

Roseanna is not as cheerful and happy as before and they would do anything to be of help to her.

At School

End of course lectures and students leaves the hall. Roseanna walks absentmindedly with her hands folded. She walks for a while completely out of the hall.

She sighs and looks up at nothing in particular but paused as she sees Jason.

Jason was moody, he too looks around and sees Roseanna.

Tears welled up in Roseanna’s eyes as she stares at Jason.

“Jason!!” Starlet almost screams as she runs towards him for a hug.

Breaking off his gaze away from Roseanna, he looks at Starlet.

“I miss you!!” Starlet says hugging him tightly, she then pecks him on his cheeks and lips.

Roseanna watches from where she was and sighs, now letting the tears stroll down her cheeks.

Releasing himself from Starlet embrace, Jason looks up again and sees Roseanna.

Trying to hide the tears, Roseanna walks away.

Jason let out a loud sigh, he immediately runs to catch up with Roseanna. After running for a while, he doesn’t see her,he stamps his leg on the ground.

“Any problem?” Starlet says tapping him on his shoulder. “Why are you running?”

“Just let me be…” Jason removes her hand and walks away.

Jason’s House

Jason seats on the bed, stares at nothing in particular, he mind was totally blank and confused.

How would he approach Roseanna, how would he explain the situation right now and she understanding it?

Nicole shuts down his computer, he turns and sees Jason blank.

“Dude… What’s the matter, you’ve been like this for a while, what’s up?”

Coming back to earth, Jason sighs. ” Nothing”

“C’mon man… Tell us, maybe we can be of help. You can’t be this way and say it’s nothing” Charles added.

” I said nothing and it means nothing!!” Standing up, he paced in the room completely lost. He sighs again and walks out of the room.

Nicole and Charles both looks at each other and shrugs their shoulders.

Chapter 42

“Rosie, c’mon eat… Stop stressing yourself” Diana says holding a plate of food.

“I told you, I’m not hungry… I don’t wanna eat…!” Roseanna replies.

Diana rolls her eyes, dropping the food on the nearby stool, she walks to Roseanna.

“Rosie, if you keep on behaving this way… You might get ill again and you know it’s definitely not good… ”

Kalila walks in, she looks at Roseanna and sighs.

“Rosie… For now, just forget everything that has happened… With time everything will get better. Jason…”

” Don’t mention Jason!!… And everything would not get any better… Just stop telling me all this lies. I’m tired and I don’t want to eat… That’s all!!” Roseanna says almost screaming. Tears streaks down her cheeks as she remembers Jason, closing her eyes tightly.

A knock is heard on the door which quietens the trios who looks at the door where the knock was heard.

“Who could be that?” Diana asks no one in particular but instead walks towards the door.

Jason stood at the door, holding bunch of flowers in his hands.

Opening the door, Diana stands, folding her hand.

“What do you want?” she asks nonchalantly.

Bringing forth the flowers, he sighs.

“Please can I see Roseanna? I want to speak with her…” Jason said with a concerned look on his face.

Diana arched her eyebrows and rolled her eyes.

” Really? First of all, Roseanna is not ready to see you, so you can’t see her! After how many weeks? You left her in pains of that night, she fell sick and you didn’t bother about her or check on her ….”

She paused and sighs deeply, ” Sorry… you can’t!” she says motioning to close the door.

” Wait!”

” What?”

“Please give this to her.. ” Jason says sadly, referring to Roseanna, Handing the flowers over to her.

“Yeah… so see you later”

Diana takes the flowers and closes the door on him.

SCHOOL PREMISES

Jason had made up his mind to speak with Roseanna, he can’t continue with his secret and let his relationship with her end just like that.

“You been away for a while, what happened?” Bryan, coursemate of Roseanna asks as he sat down opposite her during lunch.

” Nothing really, I was sick and I couldn’t cope coming to school” Roseanna replies.

” Ohh, yeah, I remember, Kalila told me…!” he sighs, palming his head So how are you feeling now?” he asks.

“Much more better than before!” Roseanna replies smiling.

Bringing out a lunch pack, he gently places it on the table.

” Since you been away for a while, well, this is for you”

Roseanna looks at him and smiles, ” Awwwn thank you!!”

” You’re welcome” he paused and looks at her. “If you need anything, please let me know…” he says holding her left hand.

Placing her other hand on his hand, she smiles, ” Surely I will… Thanks for everything!”.

Roseanna opens the lunch pack and brings out the meal closely enpacked in a plate.

” How did you know this is my favorite meal?”

Bryan shrugs his shoulder, smiling.

Bryan has been a course mate of Roseanna, but became a friend through debate when both of them had to oppose each other on a particular topic.

Flashback
A debate is been held amongst students of the second level in the university under gynaecology as both studies same course.

“Gynaecology is meant for the females not for male!”

Roseanna was for the motion while Bryan was against it. It was a difficult debate between the both team each having a better reason and earning more points.

At the end, Roseanna team won with 30 points while Bryan team with 28 points. So close!!!

Bryan sees Roseanna walking down the stairs, he walks over to her.

“Congratulations! You won!” Bryan says as he catches up with her.

” Ohh… you too” Roseanna replies holding her books, smiling.

” No to be honest, it was really though especially with you as an opponent…” Bryan uttered.

Roseanna chuckles and paused on the stairs. “Really… You tried”

Bryan brings out his hand for a handshake which she reciprocated.

” Nice meeting with you! So can we be friends?” Bryan asked.

” Sure! ”

Flashback End

Jason stands afar from Roseanna and sees another guy with her, he couldn’t go further.

“You can now see the reason why she is avoiding you” Starlet says standing behind him, smiling.

“No… They might just be friends…” Jason reply not wanting to think anything negative.

“Really, well I don’t think so… Think about that very night and how she went away from you, not wanting to see you?”

” Starlet… Let just forget about that day, please”

” Ohh, look!” Starlet uttered focusing on where Roseanna was.

Roseanna stood up after she have had her lunch. She feels very dizzy as she held her head.

“Oww!” She whispers which Bryan hears.

“What is the problem?”
“I’m…” Roseanna closes her eyes and tightened her lips, pressing it firmly. Trying to hold back the pain she felt.

Bryan knowing she wasn’t okay, held her by the waist assisting her in walking.

“So, you see what I’m telling you now… What do you have to say?”

Jason stares at both of them as they left the lunch table, he sighs.

“Nothing”
Starlet squeezes her fist, biting her lower lip, she glares at him. “Stop being blinded by fake love, Jason… Roseanna doesn’t love you anymore!!” She almost screams.

Instead of replying her, Jason left and goes another direction.

Few weeks later

Starlet fakes her result of pregnancy as she reduces the actual week of pregnancy she was in. Her plan has to go on smoothly.

Holding the laboratory result in her hand, She walks up to Jason who seated on a bench. She pretends to cry.

“Jason… I-I-I-I want to tell you something v-v-ery important” she says sniffing.

“What is it?”

Wiping off her tears, she hands the laboratory result to him. “Just take the paper and read it”

Jason looks at her surprised, he curiously takes the paper from her and opens it to read.

He widens his eyes, slack jawed. Looking at the paper again, he closes his eyes and tightened his lips before letting out a loud sigh.

“I’m sorry it resulted to this… It’s all my fault… Please don’t shed tears because of this”

” Jason, I’m carrying our child, I’m pregnant for you… I’m pregnant!” Starlet cries. Jason hugs her soothingly.
He felt guilty for his mistake, he has deeply betrayed Roseanna trust, breaking off from the hug, he squeezes the paper. “Please let’s keep it a secret…” Jason pleaded. ” Don’t let anyone know about our situation right now… I will try to sort things out myself…”

” What my stomach starts to protrude?”

“That will be a later discussion, I’m not denying my responsibility… But please…”

Starlet wipes off her tears as she nods her head, she pulls in for a hug.

“Thanks Jason, I still have a nice plan for Roseanna…”

Chapter 43

Hostel Room

“How are you feeling?” Kalila asks Roseanna who has been lying I’ll on the bed for some days now.

Sitting besides Roseanna, Kalila dips a towel into a bowl of water and gently damps her forehead to cool down her risen temperature.

Quickly preparing a good little meal for Roseanna and serves her which she managed to eat.

Few minutes after eating, Roseanna sat up trying to digest the food she had just taken, but ends up running to the bathroom and burp.

“Not again Rosie” Kalila palms her forehead and sighs. She moves over to where Roseanna was.

“I think we need to get a checkup on you, this is definitely not the first nor the second time. You can’t continue like this…”

“How about we call a doctor to perform some checkup on her here as she is probably too weak to get to the hospital?” Diana suggested sitting on the side of the bed.

Kalila was thinking when Roseanna throws up again which brought her back to earth.

“Ohh, that’s right… or…” pausing again she smiles. ” I think I’ve gotten a better idea… I want Roseanna to get a good laboratory test result… but… ”

Just then, Kalila and Diana engrossed in talk didn’t notice Roseanna leave the bathroom hears a thud on the chair.

“Oww!”

“Roseanna!!!”

Hospital

“Are you her husband or boyfriend? ” A doctor asked Bryan who had taken Roseanna to the hospital with Diana and Kalila.

Bryan short of words, looks at both Kalila and Diana who just nods their head.

Diana rolls her eyes, ” Just pretend you’re her boyfriend…! ” she motioned.

Bryan nods in affirmative. The doctor calls him with Diana and Kalila to the office.

The doctor sat on his chair while the others took their seats.

The doctor, stretches out his hand for a handshake which Bryan was concerned by it.

Nudging him by the shoulder, Diana looks at him.

Bryan reciprocated and the doctor smiles.

“Congratulations… Your girlfriend is four weeks pregnant!”

Kalila and Diana widens their eyes in surprise as they both look at themselves.

“How…?”

“Ohh woah…!” Kalila utters N
not wanting any further question from the confused Bryan.

“Well for our patient, she is okay now. The burping, the nausea and fever was just pregnancy signs, so there is no need to worry about it because she is definitely okay”

” Thank you so much doctor… Can we go to see her now? ”

” Sure! ”

Roseanna slowly opens her eyes and looks around. She closes her eyes be back, taking a deep breathe.

” Where am I? ”

“In the hospital to Rosie…” Kalila replies calmly as the worry in her face disappear but now a gaze of concern was plastered on her face.

“You fell unconscious on the chair in the morning…” Kalila says.

Roseanna lets out a sigh, she stares at nothing in particular, her mind went blank.

“Rosie…” Diana called out, walking to where Roseanna was. Tears drops down as she tried to smile.

“Rosie… You’re pregnant!!”

Roseanna eyes blazed and widens in surprise and shock.

“W-h-a-t?”

There was silence in the room for a while.

“You’re pregnant Roseanna!” Kalila repeated this time.

Roseanna turns to her, tears shimmered in her eyes. She glanced up to the ceiling trying to fight back the tears. She squeezed her eyes shut as tears ran down her cheeks.

“Why me?”

Kalila felt so concerned as she felt like it was her going through
with tears simmering.

She closes her eyes not knowing when her tears drops down.

“It’s enough Rosie, c’mon… This is not good for you neither your baby… Stop!” Kalila said.

Seeing Roseanna wouldn’t stop crying, she hugs her.

” I never wanted anything of this to happen… But why did it go this way?”

“Shhhh… it’s enough… shush now…”

Roseanna resumes classes fully now, would not want anything to hinder her from her studies.

She doesn’t neglect herself nor her health as this time, it wasn’t only herself. Kalila and Diana stood by her side while Bryan did his best to be of help.

Free time from lectures, students leaves the class. Bryan meets Roseanna at the school garden, seated all alone.

The gentle breeze blows on her face, exposing her pretty face as she stared at flowers.

Bryan stood in awe at her beauty as he smiles. He slightly taps his face to bring him out of imagination.

“C’mon Bryan… She’s just a friend nothing more… Perhaps she likes someone else” He said to himself.

“Hey!!” Roseanna called out as she sees Bryan standing at the entrance. “You’ve been standing there for minutes!!”

“Ohh… Really?” He walks towards her and sat besides her.

“You didn’t attend English lectures today..” Bryan said.

“I know and I intentionally didn’t want to…” She says smiling.

Bryan looks away trying not to be captivated by her pretty smile. He nods his head.

“Why?”

“Nothing really… but I didn’t want to actually…” Roseanna replies knowing the main reason why she didn’t attend English lectures.

“Okay, I just decided to check up on you since I didn’t see you in class” he said and stands up.

Roseanna too stands up, “Thank you… Thank you for everything…” Roseanna says as she pulls in for a hug.

“You see the reason why I said Roseanna doesn’t love you?” Starlet says to Jason who looks at Roseanna and Bryan.

“Roseanna is also a flîrt!!”
