Chapter Thirty: LEARNING HIS SECRET 1
All I remembered was entering into a room, an empty room that looks upside down and weird, I closed my eyes for a second to regain myself and now am standing in a kitchen, my mother cooking, am I in my past or am I dead ” mama??” Mumbling she turn around, giving me one of those smiles I miss so much.
” after you eat you go for confession and give Mrs poly this apples okay ” collecting the basket of apples I nod, all these happened before they died, before vampires killed them.
My gaze move to the mirror only to find myself in my ten year old body, small and happy, that was right I was happy when my parents was alive.
Turning around to talk to my mother I couldn’t find her anymore ” mama” I move to the living room, their dead bodies, papa and mama blood everywhere but something happened, they stood up, their eyes missing, hands bend to their back.
” this is all your fault!!!” They mumble while I shake my head, missing a step I fall down ” you could have saved us, you killed us, you betrayed us ”
” no!!!!!” Covering my eyes I cried ” I was only ten, I never knew all these would happened, I didn’t predict vampires to kill my kind ”
” Betty!!!”
If I had known I could have done something, I could have ask for Verdun help that night, I could have inform everyone to leave the village, Eliza could have not died.
” Betty!!!” Hearing that voice for the second time I woke up, woke up to a strange looking room, nothing like the room I step in, its painted white then empty, only a bed in here.
Turning to my left I stare at Miss Madeline, why is she here?? Where am I?? ” where is Verdun ” was the first thing I could ask, sitting up I hold my head ” wait, where am I ”
” you would be staying with me now Betty ” turning back to her I furrow my brows, confuse as to why I will be here ” you need space dear, space from lycans ”
” I don’t understand ”
” I will explain after you shower, wear this dress then join me downstairs for dinner ” nodding I watch her leave the room after dropping a white dress on the bed for me, looking at the dress I could only think that Verdun has grown tired of my nagging, is it possible that he saw me in that room and concluded am too stubborn for him then ask miss Madeline to take me away???
She said I need space from lycans, Verdun is one, that has to be why he send me away from him, will I get to see him again, I should just shower

Putting on the white short dress I tie my hair into a high ponytail before rushing downstairs, looking around I spot her sitting in the veranda, a table and two chairs there ” hi ” mumbling I sit down, opposite her ” why am I here I know am not sick, I feel really healthy ” staring at Madeline I couldn’t help but to admire those curly dark hair, she has golden eyes and its beautiful.
” well thank you ” she smile and I realize she just read my mind ” let’s get back to why you are here Betty ” nodding my head she smile ” you’re a dream walker but because of that necklace that was around your neck, it has drain your powers, more like hidden it and make you almost human ”
” is that bad??”
” yes it is” she shake her head ” you’re alpha mate, you need to train yourself again, you need to be away from lycans for a while ”
” but why?? I mean Verdun can protect me ”
” protect you?? Was he in your dreams a moment a go, do you think he will be around you forever?? Why do women always feel that they need a man to protect them” she yell and I had to bite my lips, she is Scarry ” lycans life force are affecting you, in a normal condition dream walker can’t stay surround by other creatures for a long time, it reduce their strength and there fore result in them being down, weak”
” i see, is more like the energy surrounding us, greater and weaker ones ” mumbling I sigh ” must be why dream walkers build their village away from others, am I ever going to see Verdun again??”
” of course but you need to master your powers first, get use to protecting yourself since the necklace isn’t with you anymore ” when she said that I quickly touch my neck and realize am truly not wearing it anymore ” Verdun wishes for you to stay away forever ”
” what???”
” he must think that if you go back to him, you will get worst and not be able to live just like what happen centuries ago between the leader of his clan and that of yours” Madeline sip her coffee ” I mean, even Elizabeth hurt him and now you are moving around with Dracula ”
” Dracula??? ”
” yes, the guy you call Jones, the fight years back really had a toll on him ”
” you mean the fight that happened over a cup of coffee ” she nod smiling ” I thought none of them won ”
” that’s what alpha wants people to believe, you see they is more to Verdun that I shouldn’t talk about, things you need to find out on your own ” she lean close ” but they is one thing you should know about him, he has never been lucky with women, even his mother is not to speak about and being as strong as an alpha, he isn’t. Just a boy looking for powers to hold his ground ”
” I heard his father is nice ”
Madeline chuckle ” Dawson is not what you call nice Betty, he is what you call cruel. When you meet him, you will know ” Madeline shakes her head ” Verdun has two older brothers, twins, he has always been living at their shadow, they have the true blood of an alpha while Verdun only inherited the blue eyes since his mother wasn’t a lycan but a ghoul..you must have notice that when he is changing they always inject him ”
” is he sick ”
” I won’t say sick, the last time I saw what he transform into I couldn’t eat for a week, so hideous and dangerous ” Madeline shakes her head ” after he fought against Dracula, he became unconscious for a year, I was even surprise a half lycan could withstand Dracula for a long period of time, Verdun never showed his weakness, after then he went on a quest for power. Made a deal with one of the gods”
” all for power??” I mumble ” his life must have been horrible ”
” that is what made him the way he is and now I need you to get strong to stand by his side, many of his enemies will want you dead”
” why?? I mean am just his mate and if he is a half lycan why is his life forcing affecting mine”
“Half doesn’t mean it isn’t strong, maybe you didn’t notice but malgar is a city of lycans, even if his life force doesn’t drain you, others will, Edward, Nolan. Being with Verdun means you have to be their Luna, we need to build you spiritually, make your inner energy more strong and you’re a dream walker, if he ever connect with you, his powers will increase so will yours. His enemies won’t want that ” Madeline stand to her feet ” meet your trainer” turning around I gasp
” Gondor???” My eyes widen but he didn’t smile, always moody ” don’t look so happy to see me Betty, am still upset over that painting ”
” I said am sorry ”
” well is glad to see that you two know each other” Madeline voice get deeper, like a different person ” your training will start soon, I expect you to be serious and don’t disobey me, I dislike that ” nodding my head I smile.
I still want to know how Elizabeth is related to Verdun, what his mother did, what happened centuries ago between the leader of lycans and dream walkers, want to learn about what deal Verdun made. I want to know more so I guess I have to fasten this training then return to him.
” oh and Verdun is getting married to Stella tomorrow ” hearing that my gaze move to a shrugging Madeline ” looks like he doesn’t want you Betty, what will you do??”
” nothing ” the words came out before I even realize it did ” am not going to fight over something that isn’t my business “exhaling I smile ” I will be upstairs ” standing up I move back to the room I came from.
Shutting the door I close my eyes and lean on it, Verdun has a reason for doing that, he said its for his clan and it won’t last but I can’t let him marry her, do I go over there and ruin the wedding???
Won’t that look desperate on my part, I don’t want to look desperate and I don’t want Verdun getting married to Stella either
Maybe he needs something from Stella why should I ruin his plans?? He did set them up before meeting me, he should enjoy his free time for now but when am done from all these, he will have to be with me.

Chapter Thirty One: DISAPPEARANCE OF HIS MATE
Verdun remain still in his balcony, different thoughts swirl in his head, turns out without Betty no coffee seem to be getting to my room, the day is moving glorious as always but then am not satisfied with all these, for some reason I want to annoy someone which is Betty ” alpha your father has arrived ” hearing Nolan voice I nod ” he is in the dining hall ”
” did he come alone??”
” he came alone” grabbing my jacket I move out of my room straight to my dining room, Dawson remain where he is, his dark hair combed properly, putting on a suit as usual ” why do I get such meeting Dawson, I remember not inviting you over ”
” do a father need his son permission to visit ” Dawson mumble while shooting me one of his annoying glance ” even when this son in particular choose to hide the fact he has a mate now ”
” what nonsense ” I grunt through gritted teeth ” do you think I would have a mate and still plan on marrying Stella tomorrow?? ”
” you tell me Verdun” he step closer ” are you still obsessed with the thought of being the strongest man alive?? Do you think you will ever defeat me”
” stop trying to make everything be about you Dawson, I don’t give a fuck if you are stronger. I don’t give a fuck about anything you do ”
” what about if I kill Betty?? ” when the words leave his mouth I remain still ” do you think placing her in Madeline hands will prevent me from going there, Madeline is still young, what do she know in magic. In a blink of an eye she is dead ”
” you will not touch her” growling I step closer and grab him by the collar ” if anything happens to her I swear I will kill you, I will forget that we are related ” slapping my hands off his collar he chuckle.
” what do you think Verdun, Dracula already spread the news about your new mate, she isn’t safe and to top it all, she is a dream walker ” Dawson smile ” the last kind, I don’t mind taking her life force ”

” watch me, that’s if you still see her alive by tomorrow ” watching Dawson walk away I couldn’t help but to pace, am so conflicted right now, I have known that bastard like forever, I know he will try taking Betty life force.
Is Betty safe where she is??
This damn shit isn’t working, even if I keep repeating it to myself, I won’t be able to stand Betty death ” go and get her ” hearing Veronica voice I turn and look at the painting, when did I walk to the hall way ” your mate is meant to be with you ”
” are you nuts, she needs to train herself first, she won’t survive and I should be ready to marry Stella ”
” forgive my words alpha but you’re very stupid ” furrowing my brows at her she purred ” if not the fact you lock me up here I would have slap you on the head, you’re a half lycan, she needs a place where lycans aren’t too much, can’t you just replace the lycans guard in the mansion to humans, put her where you know you can keep seeing her ”
” I don’t want her close to me ” I grumble ” she doesn’t know it but she has me in her hands, if someone know she is my weakness…. ”
” everybody knows that now alpha ” Edward mumble ” vampires, ghouls, demons, they all have heard about Betty being the last of her kind now and Betty isn’t even with the necklace, Madeline isn’t strong enough to protect her ”
” she might need us even if her inner energy reject it ”
” this is not how I expected shits to run out ” growling I frown ” arrange my carriage, we have to move to Madeline place this night, Dawson might try something funny ”
Arranging my bed properly I exhale, my paintings and everything is in Verdun mansion, am basically cloth less here just Like I was when I move into Verdun mansion ” you have really grown little Betty ” hearing that voice my gaze move to my window, I remain still and shocked ” eighteen and all grown up, I like it ” one of my fears are coming to live.
” what are you doing here ” mumbling my heart beat increased ” how did you get in here ” Knox chuckle, I couldn’t detect when he fast speed to my direction and grab me by the neck.
” you smell just like you should Betty, the witch spell is off your power isn’t it, I told you” he lean close then lick my face, his red eyes glitter from mischief ” I told you if you escape the dark forest I will find and have you, you will be all mine ”
” let go of me ” shoving him away, my first instinct is to shout and scream for Madeline help but before I could do that, he swiftly use his hand and hit the back of my head, rendering me unconscious
” where is she ” Nolan listen to Verdun voice when he barge into Madeline house, the moment we left his mansion, he has been on the edge confused and over reacting ” amor!!” He start checking the whole room like a mad man.
” I told you she will be okay with me!!” Madeline groan walking downstairs “she doesn’t need to stay with you guys, haven’t I explained enough ”
” where is amor ” the lines are starting to appear on his body again ” if I don’t see her, consider yourself dead ” he growl and whenever he growls, everyone knows its serious.
” follow me ” we all walk behind Madeline to the particular room where Betty should be kept ” I told you she is…” She stop talking when the room is empty, window open, Verdun step in, inhaling the scent.
“Knox” his breathing increased then his gaze move to Madeline, before we could say anything he already has Madeline neck in his hands, eyes already red with anger ” I told you to fucking protect her, is this how you do your damn job!!!”
In one word Madeline is gonna die or will be seriously injured
