He muttered and continued his walk.

The next day in class, really was very much hectic for Richærd, that he even forgot to go apologize to Sharon. The last lecture was already over and he literally dragged his foot while walking because he was quite exhausted. Just then he felt a hand tap him from behind and to his surprise, it really was the last person he expected to talk to him again after what happened the previous day. He turned with his face full of surprises to meet her radiant smile.

“Hi good evening Richærd.” She greeted still smiling.

” Wow! Sharon wotsup! I’m really surprised.”
He said giving voice to his surprises. While still staring at her, he tucked his hands into his pockets, while lost for words.

“Yeah I’m here! I don’t give up easily on a project, I have set my mind on. Do you think your childish attitude yesterday would stop me? Nah!”

” So I’m now a project?” He said pointing at himself, with a baffled expression and this you can’t be serious look.

“You can literally call it that.” She said beaming.

“Ohh!! I see. Actually Sharon I’m really sorry about how I spoke to you yesterday. I really f-cked up big time. I’m so…”

” It’s fine. I understand dear.” She interjected before he could finish his speech.
“Just know I’m always there for you. I actually care that’s why I really want to help. You really are living a life shackle bound. You can be free. A lot ties you down and believe me you really don’t need to live on like this.”

She said staring him right at the eye. Richærd removed his eyes and muttered.

“You care for me? You really do?”

“Of course I do.” She said with so much conviction that could severe a nail.

“I suggest you just leave me be then, since you care that much about me. Please leave.”
He muttered, with a heavy voice. Sharon who was taken aback turned to see his eyes laden with tears. He immediately covered his face with his two hands to avoid the tears from falling off.

“Do you really think I would want to be a lone wolf? Not bothering to associate with anyone? You think me antisocial? A sadist? Or whatever you care to think of me? Actually I bring miseries to those who are around me. Please don’t stick around.”
He said with a coarse and tear filled eyes. Sharon who’s eyes was already getting w-t dabbed her eyes with a handky.

“Guess what? My brother is lying in the hospital…. His state of health is something I can’t just tell…. Lying there in coma and guess what ? He kept on scre-ming my name till he lost consciousness. My uncle died from an unknown source, his death even defied medical practitioners. He died the very night he promised to train me in school. My dad died on my birthday. The day he took me out for a treat to celebrate my new age. He died in a ghastly motor accident and his mangled body was so different from my usual dad. For that my mom became a widow at an age she needed companionsh¡p most. My mom told me during my birth she nearly died. The labour and pain she went through was out of the world to bring me into this world. My dad lost his well paying job that very day, because he didn’t take a permission before going to carry my mom home after birth and because of that something urgent propped up in the firm and because he wasn’t there, there was no one to salvage it and hence, he lost his job and had to switch to taxi driving. Do you understand? Please just leave.”

He said and burst into tears. Sharon rushed over and hugged him tightly.

“It is fine dear! You are not cursed, just that bad things have really happened to you and trust me their is really a new lease to life. You are a strong man. You have to be strong for your brother and momma. Just think if something happens to you here in school or you end up committing suicide, due to pent up thoughts. Do you think your mom would still have a reason to live? Or your brother gets revived from comma and finds out you couldn’t wait for him. Make your dead dad happy. You caused nobody’s death just that life can be unfair in it’s dealings. I also have my own story too dear. Everyone really does.”
She consoled him as she hugged onto him. Richærd’s chest was still heaving as he cried on her shoulder to his fill.

“Thank you!!” He suddenly mustered to say as his face looked all greasy and oily.
