I ran as possible as my legs carried me into our small house. I locked the door behind searching for where to hide.
When I couldn’t find a place I rest my back on the wall. My heart was beating so fast like that of someone who had just run a marathon race.
But damn! I think the race I ran today is worth more than a marathon race. I bent my head backward holding but chest.
I never know am a good runner. Not until now. “Jasmine, why are you running breathing heavily? And why are you looking around like a thief who’s desperately searching for where to hide?”Dason my little brother asked glaring at me.
I need to hide somewhere.
“Idiot, are you just going to stand there and watch me die, am very sure if those huge guys barge into this house, then I am good as a die person,” I said finding where to hide.
“Oh I see, we are in trouble again what do you do this thing around?”He asked and sit on the chair in the room.
“Where’s she? come out here before we break down this door”One of the guys chasing me shouted from outside.
My heart pounds heavily, my throat was in my mouth. “Am doom. This is real trouble” I mumbled.

“Oh my goodness, this big guy, what on earth have you done this time around.
If I don’t save you now I will be left all alone in this world, then this horrible uncle of ours we kill me with all the chores in this house. I need to think of something “Dason said to me silently hitting his head.

After Dason finds a place for her sister to hid he went to opens the door yawning.
“Hey! what do you all want?”He asked etching his eyes.
“Call the lady that ran in,side here to come out, if not will we scatter the wh0le place and bring her out, “One of them said with a horrible look ready to kill anybody who mess with him.
“What are you guys saying, a lady. No lady ran in here, so what does that suppose to mean?”Dason asked pretending not to know what they are talking about.

” Sir, I think when you are running you couldn’t see properly, that’s why you don’t know where the person you are looking for ran into.
No one lives in this house except for me and my uncle. My sister, mother, and father are no more, they die in a terrible car accident.
I am alone now. I have been sleeping since morning. No one ran in,side here. I swell” Dason said with teary eyes.
“Maybe we are mistaking we would find her elsewhere, and sorry for the loss, you are just a little kid, I don’t think you will be more than 12years old, you are too young for this.
Take this money and buy something for yourself”One of them said, and brought out some money from his pocket. He gave the money to Dason and he took it with joy.
“Thank you, sir, God bless you. You will find everything you are looking for. No, I mean God will bless you abundantly” Dason said and collect the money.
“Let’s go and check somewhere else, if not we won’t see her again, “Another of them said and they ran in another direction.
Dason waits till they are out of sight. He rushed in,side and locked the door.
He went to open the wardrobe.
“Ah! thank goodness”Jasmine exclaimed wiping her sweat.
“Tell me what on earth do you go to those guys?”Dason asked.
“Wait! how do you manage to get rid of them? Those fools are desperate. I pray I don’t fall into bigger trouble one day” Jasmine heaves a sigh of relief.
“I just lied I live here alone, I said you and our parents are dead. I can believe this, they even gave me money. Please just keep causing trouble for me, so they can continue to dash me money.
But wait a minute, do I look like a 12years old boy? I am 16 years and that fool called me 12″Dason said with an eye roll.
“You are a real fraud, how dare you lie I am dead”Jasmine gaze at Dason who looks baffled.

I check my time, damn! it’s 7:30 am already. I need to hurry up. I am almost late for the meeting. I am the one who called for a meeting and here I am still having my breakfast.

She rushed to the table.
“Sir you didn’t eat much, what happened?” Clara asked glaring at me.
“I lost my appetite. Am also late for work” I answered and stood up.
I took my suitcase and head towards the door.

I halt. Oh goodness, I just don’t want her trouble early this morning.
“Yes, what now?”I asked.
“Where do you think you are going, didn’t I tell you there’s a meeting at Dan school”Evan said and folded her hand, she placed it on her brea$t.
“Common you just told me this yesternight, and I have already told you I can’t make it, so why are you making an issue out of this?”I huffed.
“So you called this making an issue? Today Is the parent meeting in your son’s school, why can’t you let that meeting wait for the sake of your son?.
Can’t you sacrifice just some hours for him”She yelled fuming?
“What’s your problem, don’t get on my nerves today again, not this morning. I have already heard enough.
You brought him here one day and claimed he’s my son, just because of the affairs we had in the past. If it was my son. You would have come since all this year’s, not when the child is already 6years old” I thundered and was about to go out.
“WOW! What a good performance you’ve just shown. You are unbelievable, like seriously.
You are running shortage of blood already, so relax.
Are you okay, didn’t you go for a DNA test that confirms Dan is your child so what are you saying?.
You will have to cancel a meeting for your child’s sake” She uttered.
I put on a long hissed. “Don’t try to stop me, you aren’t the one to teach me my fatherly right, I love Dan in as much as he’s my son.
You are his mum so you should go, is not compulsory we both should go.
Excuse me am running late “I said and turn to leave.
She held my cloth.
“Mum, Dad are you both fighting again. You both promised to keep me happy but you will never be able to do that for me” Dan cried standing upstairs.
“Dan why would we fight. Not at all, we are just settling a small issue”I lied.
He walked downstairs and come close to me.
“Dad you said you love me isn’t it”Dan asked with his little puppy eyes
“Yes son, Dad loves you so much more than anyone does, and I will always love you,” I said and bend to his level.
“So promised me you will attend my PTA meeting. All my classmates said their mum and Dad would be present, I also want you to come even if Evan didn’t come “Dan said with a pout.
She’s so horrible that his son doesn’t like her. “But I have an urgent meeting, I can’t keep them waiting. I am late already, please Dan I promised to make it up to you, I will attend some order time “I said car-ssing his face.

I will have to attend the PTA meeting just for him.
“Clara take Dan to his room. Make sure he stops crying before the school bus arrives”I ordered and stand on my feet.
“I refused to go to school today “He yelled and run towards the staircase.
