She opened the envelope with her heart battling with fear,
“A sack letter!
She shouted,her worst fear has finally come to pass.

“Oh yes! that’s your sack letter your services is no longer needed at this company”
The MD said being so serious.

“But why Sir? How could you do this to me?
She sounded in tears.

He giggled and said,
“I didn’t do anything to you Pearl rather your stupidity cause it”

“You can’t do this to me Sir,I have been so honestly and loyal to my work,I worked day and night to bring profits to this company,for the past three years I have been working with this company it has made millions upon millions,Sir is that how you will pay me for all my endeavors for all the sleepless night for the millions I brought to this company? this is not fair Sir,I love this my job so much and I don’t want to loose it Sir”
She said trying to make him see reasons with her.

“If you love your job so much as you said then be my concubine,I will promote you to the highest level of life a level that you will be making times three of your salary”
He sounded with his devilish smiles.

“I will do no such thing Sir”
She shouted.

“Then take your sack letter and leave my office and the company”
He shouted.

“It’s better I leave then to have something to do with disgusting man like you but bear it in mind that this company will never see someone like me to employ mark my word Sir”
She shouted and used the door.

“I gave you five minutes to pack your things if you did not do so I will send the security to throw you out”
He shouted,Pearl sighed and walked out.

Pearl walked in to her office with the look on her face Anne got to know that something bad has happened,she rushed and gave her a tight hug.

“Anne my worst fear has finally come to pass”
She sounded in tears.

“This is unfair! How could that useless MD sacked you? that man deserve to be punished i will have to report him to the CEO of this company”
She shouted.

“Reporting him will be pointless,the CEO will not believe us the MD will brainwashed him,how am I going to find another job in this town I know what I suffered before getting this job”
She said in tears.

She wiped out her tears and said,
“Is okay Pearl,God will surely punish that useless Man,stop crying all hope is not lost when a door closes another door will open for good and I believe that getting another job won’t be a difficult one for you this time”

“I need to pack my things to avoid getting embarrassed from the security”
She said and walked to her table.

“Is well Pearl,God will make a way for you”
She consoled her and helped her to pack her things.

“Thank you Anne,I hope to see you after work”
She said.

“For sure I will come and check on you please don’t allow this to weigh you down,this are obstacles of life and you will overcome it please don’t think too much about it okay”
She said and hugged her.

Anne see her off,as they were going the company gossipers started their work,

Some pitted her while some mocked her.

“As I said earlier don’t allow this to weigh you down there are just an obstacle and you will overcome it,I will come and see you after work”
Anne said and hugged her.

Pearl got into her car as Anne watches her driving out.

“God will surely punish that disreputable man for doing this to my friend because she refuses to buy your s×xual desires”
She said with sighs and went back to her office.

“Are you not going to work Mom?
Princess asked while having her breakfast.

“Yes Babe”
She answered with smiles.

“What happen Mom?
She asked being curious to know.

“Am on leave I will start work next week”

“Okay Mom”
She said and took a sip of her tea.

“Hurry up with your breakfast to avoid being late at the school,I will take you to school today”

“But why Mom? You don’t have to take me to school Uncle Bryan is doing that already”
She sounded.

“We have to allow Bryan to rest so from now to end of this week I will be taking you to school until I resume work”

“But Uncle Bryan didn’t complain of being tired of taking me to school besides I like it when he takes me to school and I enjoy his company too”
She sounded.

“You know he is a nice person so he won’t complain of being tired that’s why I want him to rest then I will take over”
She said.

“Mom I don’t want you to be taking me to school l want Uncle Bryan I like him”
He sounded sadly.

A knocked came from outside,
“My Uncle Bryan is here!
She shouted happily and rushed to get the door.

“Good Morning Uncle Bryan!
She greeted and hugged him.

“Morning my Princess,are you ready for school?
He asked and carried her.

“Yes Uncle Bryan, Uncle Bryan tell my Mom that you are not tired of taking me to school”
She said in front of her mother.

“Why should I be tired of taking my little Princess to school?
He asked with smiles.

“You see he is not tired Mom”
She sounded rejoicing.

“You are not dressed for work or are you not going?
Bryan asked.

“Am on leave that’s why I said I will be taking Princess to school until I resume work next week”
She said.

“You don’t have to bother you need to rest and am not complaining of being tired I love taking Princess to school”
He sounded with smiles.

“Thank you Uncle Bryan,I love you”
She sounded happily and pecked him on the cheek.

Bryan smiled and said,
“I love you my dear Princess,go and get your backpack and your lunch box”

Princess went to get her backpack while Bryan and Pearl stood there starring at each other with smiles without saying anything,Pearl later break the stares,
“Let me get something in,side I will be right back”

“Okay!
He replied with smiles.

Pearl went in,side and came out with Princess,
“Bye Mom,see you after school”
She hugged her.

“Have a nice day at school and listen very attentive to your teacher”

“I will Mom”
She pecked her before they made their way out.

Pearl cleared the dinning and took the plates to the kitchen,the thought of Bryan flashed on her head.

“Why did I always have that feeling whenever he stares at me? What could be the feeling? I have never felt that way with any man for the past eight years,I don’t understand this feeling anymore”
She thought with smiles as she washes the plates.

Pearl was checking something on her system and a knock came from outside,
“Who is there? Hold on am coming”
She went to get the door.

“Hey Bestie!
Anne said with smiles and hugged her.

“How are you doing Anne?

“Am good! I hope you are good too?
She asked and sat down.

“Yeah am fine”

“What are you doing?
She asked glancing at the system.

“Am checking if I will see any job vacancy online but the one are seeing did not match with my qualifications,it has been three days since I started searching for job i don’t know how long it will take for me to get a job”
She sounded sadly.

“C”Mon Bestie! You don’t have to be like this okay,I believe that you will find a suitable job that is hundred percent better with that your previous job very soon please stop being sad okay”
She said and gave her a warmly hug.

She smiled and said,
“I believe so,I will get a job very soon”

“Yeah that’s what I want to hear from you,what of Princess? Is she sleeping?
She asked.

“Nope she is not sleeping”

“Where is she then?
She asked confusingly.

“Where else will she be if not Bryan’s house”

“Bryan’s house again! It seems you and this your neighbor are now closed that Princess even stay at his place and he also drop and bring Princess back from school?
Anne asked with smiles.

“Anne Bryan is a nice,caring and loving person for someone to have as a friend and Princess loves being with him so he is more than a neighbor to me I now consider him as my friend”
She said with smiles.

“Hmmmmh I see friend! from friend now it will be something intimate”
She sounded with smiles.

“Our friendsh¡p won’t cross that boundary okay so stop thinking about it”
She said.

“Who say it won’t? You think I have not noticed how you talked about him with so much joy and smiles written all over this your beautiful face,I want to ask you something”

“If Bryan asked you out will you accept him?
She asked.

“Why did you ask?

“I just want to know if my friend’s heart has been opened for love again so answer me,will you accept him?
She asked again.

“I don’t know until he makes the move”
She said.

She said with smiles.

Pearl laughed and said,
“Anne is face of mine is lying to you”

“As you always said Bryan is nice,loving and caring and he takes Princess as his own so is Bryan not the type of man you want in your life? when he will ask you out which I know he will surely do please listen to your heart and don’t do mistake”
She said.

Pearl smiled and said,
“Anne until he makes the move i know what to do”

“Okay ooo I don’t want my friend to make mistake I want her to be happy with this happiness that is coming to her”

“That must be Princess and Bryan”
Pearl at the moment a knock came from outside.

“Let me go and get the door”
Anne went to get the door.

“Good evening Aunty Anne!
Princess greeted and hugged her.

“How are you Princess?
She asked with smiles.

She said and went to meet her Mommy.

“Good Evening Bryan!
She greeted with smiles.

“Evening Anne! How are you doing?
He asked with smiles.

“Am good,I hope you are good too?

“Yeah! Am fine!

“I hope Princess didn’t disturb you?
Pearl asked.

“How can an Angel like Princess disturb me? you know she is a lovely kid to be with”
He said with smiles.

Pearl asked and smiled,
“Did you care for a drink?

“No,I need to go back to my apartment and finish so work”
He said with smiles.

“Okay see you tomorrow then”
Pearl said with smiles.

Pearl walked him to the door.

“I can see the love moving on the air”
Anne sounded with smiles.

“You did not see clear maybe next time put on your eyeglass to enable you to see well”
Pearl laughed.

Anne laughed and sounded,
“I know what I saw,love moving on the air”

“Am hungry Mom”
Princess came down and said.

“Okay Babe,let me get you something to eat”
She said and went to the kitchen.

At Bryan’s car,he is bringing Princess back from school,
“I want to ask you something Uncle Bryan”

“Yeah,what is it Princess?

“Did you love my Mommy?
She asked and the question shooked Bryan.

“Why did you ask?
He asked being confused.

“Uncle Bryan you know I like you and I will like you to be my Daddy,I only wish to have a Daddy like you but that wish will only come to pass if you love my Mommy so Uncle Bryan did you love my Mommy?
She asked.

“What can I say Princess? I love you so much, I will also to have you as my own daughter and I love you Mommy”
He said.

Princess jumped in,side the car excitedly and hugged him,
“Wow! you love my Mommy! this is such a good news for me but Uncle Bryan why haven’t you ask my Mom out?

“Princess I don’t know how your Mommy will take it,I don’t know if he will accept me nor did I know if she loves too”

“See Uncle Bryan I know my Mommy loves you so much so you have to make the move and if she did not accept you I will persuaded her until she agreed to be yours,I want us to be happy family”
She said with smiles.

Bryan smiled and said to her,
“You just a brilliant kid always reasoning like an adult”

“Thank you Uncle Bryan”

They arrived home,
“Good afternoon Mom!
Princess greeted with smiles.

“Afternoon Babe! How was school today?

“School was fine Mom”

“Okay,go up and change then come down and have your food”

“Okay Mom!
She winked at Uncle Bryan and went up to her room.

“Bryan have you work in the army barrack before?
Pearl asked with smiles.

“Nope! Why did you ask?

“Before you always stand like a solider until you will be ask to sit down”
She sounded as Bryan laughed and sat down.

“I can remembered you told me that you will resume work this week and it has been three days now you have not gone to work, what’s going on Pearl?
He asked.

“Nothing I will go to work tomorrow”
She said with smiles.

“It can’t be nothing,talk to me what’s going on? why haven’t you resume work?
He asked.

Pearl runoff of excuses decided to tell him the truth,
“I got fired at my work that’s why I haven’t be to work”

“Oh my goodness! What happened? How did it happened?
He asked being so sorry for her.

Pearl told him what happened and Bryan couldn’t believe what he heard,
“Oh my God! that your MD is corruptible and disreputable,he did not deserve to be MD,he to be sue to court for s×xual harassment,why didn’t you tell me about this?

“I don’t want to bother you with my problem”

“How can your problem be a bother to me? I thought we are friends and friends doesn’t hide things from each other”

“Am sorry for not telling you Bryan”
She apologized.

“Is okay so what are you plans now?

“I have been looking for job online but I haven’t find the one that matches with my qualifications until on Monday,I went for the interview they told me they will get back to me but it has been two days I haven’t heard from them”
She said sadly.

“Stop waiting for them because they won’t call,I think I know what to do, Pearl can I get your CV”
He said.

“Okay,let me go and bring it”
She said and wonder why he requested for her CV.

She brought it, Bryan went through it and became so amazed of what he saw.
“Wow! This is good,you studied Business Administration?

Pearl replied with smiles,
“Yes!

“I have a friend of mine that will help us out,I will like to go with your CV”
He said.

“Okay, thank you so much”
She said with smiles.

He laughed and said,
“Don’t thank me yet until the work is done”

“But you still deserve my thanks so thank you”
She said with smiles.

Bryan laughed and said,
“I will take my leave now”

“Okay take care”
She see him off to the door.

Pearl went to Bryan’s house,she knocked on the door,Bryan rushed out from the kitchen to get the door.

“Good morning Bryan!
She greeted with smiles.

“Morning Pearl,Well dressed where are you going to?

“I got a call last night to come today for an interview”
She sounded happily.

“Wow that’s such a good news!
He sounded happily.

“Bryan I want you to wish me good luck with this interview”

“I wish you good luck,the interview will be successful so go and excel”
He said and pecked her on the cheek.

Pearl didn’t expect that k×ss it came as a shocked to her,she stood there staring at him with her mouth wide opened even Bryan stares at her too.

“Pearl you will be late to your interview”
He sounded with smiles.

“Yeah! that’s true,see you later Bryan”
She said and rushed out.
