ALPHA DOROTHY

(The First Female Alpha)

Chapter 10

Jack couldn’t get his mind off what Dorothy told him. He thought to himself that if he had made the move of asking Dorothy out, they would be together now. Back then, Xavier had no interest in Dorothy and there was no chance of them being together.

“If the moon goddess says they are meant to be, who am I to intervene?” he thought to himself and decided to take a short nap

*Few days later*

Xavier and Dorothy bought their wedding dresses already. Like Dorothy suggested, they spoke to the public and there have only been positive reviews about their wedding since then.

Nancy insisted that she wanted to meet her sister-in-law before she gets married to her brother and Xavier being the loving brother he was, had to fulfill her wish. Ever since she woke up, he made sure to only do things she wanted so she could be happy and visiting Dorothy wasn’t an exception.

They got dressed and were ready to leave in a few minutes. After driving for a while, they finally arrived at Dorothy’s mansion and were specially welcomed.

“I have a really important guest today. It’s my sister-in-law to be” Dorothy said as they sat on a couch

“Your house is not bad” Nancy said and slowly sipped the wine that was served

“So, what do you think about me? Do you think I’m a good match for your brother?” Dorothy asked with a sly smile

“Dorothy!” Xavier called through gritted teeth

“Although we are just meeting for the first time, I think you are a good match for my brother. You’re pretty, rich and also an alpha like him” Nancy answered

“Wow! I feel so honoured that you think about me this way. If only your brother could also think the same way” Dorothy said sadly and winked at Xavier

“Don’t worry about my brother, I will take care of him” Nancy assured

“Really? That would be so great!” she exclaimed

“You must not divorce her after marriage Xavier, I really like her a lot” Nancy said with a smile

“Wow! Things just got easier for me. As long as this girl is alive, Xavier won’t be able to divorce me. I heard he can even move mountains for her.” Dorothy thought to herself

After spending a few hours with her, Xavier and his sister returned to their mansion.

“What do you like about that lady? Don’t be fooled by her innocent looks” Xavier said to Nancy on the way

“I’m not fooled. She seems to have a great personality and she’s really beautiful. If I have such a pretty sister-in-law, I can brag about her wherever I go” Nancy said with a smile

“Brag about her my foot” Xavier mumbled to himself

*Dorothy’s mansion*

Amanda arrived at Dorothy’s mansion few minutes after Xavier left with his sister and she dropped the snacks she got on her way.

“How is the preparation for your wedding going?” she asked Dorothy as she poured wine into a glass

“Well, I would say it’s going smoothly. Xavier is taking care of all the expenses so I have nothing to worry about” Dorothy smiled

“So you’ve made up your mind to get married to Xavier no matter what?” Amanda asked

“I don’t seem to understand you? My wedding is coming up in a few days so what kind of question is that? I wouldn’t have gone this far if I had no intention of marrying him” Dorothy scoffed

“Chill babe! No need to get all worked up, I was only asking” Amanda said

“I’m stepping out for a while, will you wait for me to return?” Dorothy asked picking her car keys

“Where are you headed?” Amanda asked

“To the company. There’s something I want to check quickly” Dorothy answered

“Alright! You can drop me off on your way since I’m headed to the same direction” Amanda said

“Why would I drop you off? I didn’t ask you to come here without your car” Dorothy scoffed

“You don’t have a choice. I came to see you so you can’t leave me stranded” Amanda said and walked out while Dorothy sighed and followed suit

“Where are you stopping?” Dorothy asked on the way

“When I get to where I’m going, I will tell you to stop” Amanda said

After a few minutes, Amanda finally said she had gotten to where she was headed and Dorothy dropped her off.

Dorothy was almost at the company when she noticed a snake on the passengers seat next to her. If there’s one thing she’s scared of in the world, then it’s snakes.

She was once bitten by a snake when she was a child and ever since then, she has always been scared of it. While she was busy focusing her full attention on the snake, a truck came out of nowhere and ran over her car.

Her car ended up crashing into a tree but it didn’t stop there. A guy in mask took a knife that contained wolfsbane and mistletoe. He stabbed Dorothy in the stomach countless times and the truck finally ran over her car one last time.

The accident was probably the most brutal accident ever scene. Anyone who was at the crime scene would definitely know that it was murder.

Xavier was informed about the accident and he rushed there with Jack in his car. There were plenty of people who were taking pictures and sympathizing by the time they arrived there.

“What happened here?” Xavier stuttered as he stared at the scene

“What in the world is this?” Jack also asked, staring at the car before him

“Dorothy can’t possibly be in that car right?” Jack added

“No right? There’s no way she can be in the car” Xavier agreed

They both walked forward until they were standing before the car. Blood wouldn’t stop flowing and that was when they knew Dorothy was definitely in the car.

The ambulance arrived at the scene at that moment and asked everyone to move back. They were able to pull Dorothy out of the car after much trying but her body was covered with bruises and blood wouldn’t stop flowing.

Anyone at the scene would conclude that she was dead but the fact that she was a werewolf and an alpha at that was the only advantage she was having.

“How could this have happened to her? She was perfectly fine just few hours ago so how come?” Xavier mumbled

“That’s not what is important right now. We have to make sure she’s okay and we also have to find out who tried to kill her just few days to her wedding because this is definitely attempted murder” Jack said

“What can we do to make sure she’s okay? She’s an alpha just like me so even if I try everything in this world, I won’t be able to heal her.” Xavier said

“But still, we can’t just sit back and watch. She saved Nancy so you have to at least do something” Jack insisted

“She saved Nancy but she demanded something else in return. Just because I came here as soon as I heard about it doesn’t mean I care about her. I still hate her a lot and it will remain that way” Xavier concluded and left, leaving Jack all alone

✨ Chapter 11✨

As Xavier returned home, he kept thinking about how lifeless Dorothy looked. He might have hated her, but something in him kept pulling toward her at that particular moment.

“She’s an Alpha so she will be fine. I just hope she gets well soon so we can be done with the wedding on time” he mumbled to himself

“What are you mumbling to yourself?” Nancy asked as she walked in

“It’s nothing” he said with a smile

“I don’t believe you because your face says otherwise. Anyway, I want to talk to Aunt Dorothy” Nancy said

“Why do I feel like Dorothy is more important to you now?” Xavier asked with a sad look on his face

“Dorothy is going to be my sister-in-law so I have to know her better. We’ve been together for a while now so I already know everything about you. I should try to get closer to Dorothy instead” Nancy shrugged

“Alright, you will talk to her tomorrow” Xavier said

“No! I want to talk to her right now” Nancy insisted

“Dorothy is currently sick so you can’t talk to her now. You have to wait until she gets better” Xavier finally said

“She’s sick? How come? We just came back from her place a few minutes ago so how can she suddenly be sick? Let’s go and see her brother” Nancy said and sprang up

“We can’t go and see her right now, the sickness is more severe than you think. I will keep checking up on her so when she gets better, I will let you know and you will talk to her” Xavier said

“The more reason we need to be there. Your wife to be is sick and you are here? Are you kidding me right now? I have to see Aunt Dorothy right now and if you don’t allow me, I won’t eat until then” Nancy insisted and walked away

“Dorothy is my worst nightmare. Ever since I met her, it has been from one problem to another and now, my sister won’t even talk to me because of her” Xavier thought to himself and Jack walked in

“Are you really going to keep being like this?” Jack asked

“What are you talking about?” Xavier feigned ignorance

“Really? Why did you agree to marry her when you’re not willing to take responsibility? You saw the scene of the accident so I’m sure you know someone planned this on purpose but you’re here doing nothing. Marriage isn’t a joke in case you don’t know” Jack said

“Wow! You never speak up for anyone but for the first time, you’re speaking for someone. Do you like Dorothy or something?” Xavier asked with a smirk

“W..what are you talking about?” Jack stuttered

“Awwn! I guess I’m right. Why didn’t you marry her then? You know how much I despise her so if you had told me, I definitely would have let you marry her” Xavier shrugged

“I don’t know what you’re talking about. Anyway, take care of your wife before someone else snatches her from you” Jack concluded and left

Amanda stared at Dorothy’s accident scene on TV and smiled triumphantly. It felt like she had just won the biggest trophy of her life.

“There’s no way she would survive that and even if she did, she would be unrecognizable. I really hope she doesn’t survive it though because I need to have Xavier all to myself” Amanda said to herself

“I still have to go to the hospital though before they begin to suspect me. If anyone finds out what I did, I’m going to be in huge trouble” she thought to herself and picked her car keys

She arrived at the hospital in no time and hurried to Dorothy’s ward as soon as she arrived. She pretended to be shocked seeing Dorothy in that state and bursted into fake tears.

“Dorothy, tell me I’m dreaming. I must be dreaming now, right? You dropped me off just few hours ago and I still remember it clearly like it just happened. Wake up now and tell me this is all a dream” Amanda said as she continued crying

Xavier came in at that moment and saw her in that state. After what Jack told him, he couldn’t just sit back and not do anything so he decide to visit her at least before rumors start spreading. He rolled his eyes at the drama Amanda was causing just because of Dorothy.

“I can’t believe there are people that will cry when she’s on the verge of death. Shouldn’t they be happy that someone as mean as her is finally leaving them alone? I wonder why some people don’t even know what they want” Xavier taught to himself as he walked towards Dorothy’s bed.

“W..what… is this Dorothy?” Xavier stuttered

“Good job Xavier! You are a great liar and artist” he complemented himself

“I really don’t know how this happened. She dropped me off and told me she was going to the company. I was shocked when I saw the news on TV and I didn’t believe it until I saw it with my own two eyes” Amanda said still in tears

“Someone did this to her on purpose. The accident scene says it all! There was wolfs bane at the scene too which means it’s somebody that knows she’s a werewolf” Xavier said

Somehow, he felt really angry seeing Dorothy in that condition. Even though she always got on his nerves and enrage him, it was still better than seeing her in that condition. The fact that someone even tried to kill her angered him more and it was taking more than just self restraint to stop himself from turning the world upside down just to find the person.

Amanda on the other hand was beginning to tremble after what Xavier said. She never imagined that the wolfs bane was going to expose the identity of the killer.

“Has he already found out that I did it?” she thought to herself

“Are you okay?” Xavier asked jolting her out of her thoughts

“I’m fine! I just can’t comprehend this. Dorothy is nice to everyone so why would anyone want to kill her?” Amanda said

“You talk as if you don’t know her at all even though you claim to be her best and only friend. You know that Dorothy isn’t nice to anyone so don’t try to say nice things about her. I hate people that pretend to be what they’re not and I hate liars more” Xavier said

“Sorry about that. I just didn’t want to say something mean about her since you are her fiancé” Amanda lied

“It’s okay. I’m going to investigate her death and once I find out who plotted all this, I will make sure to take the person down at all cost” Xavier threatened

“I hope you find the person soon enough and I also hope Dorothy wakes up soon because her wedding is just in a few days” Amanda said sadly

“We will just have to move the wedding date after she wakes up. For now, we need to hope she makes it out of here alive, the accident seems to be fatal” Xavier concluded and walked away, leaving Amanda to dwell on her thoughts
