Chapter 93 :- Hell’s gate (contd)

With the witch coven filled with thousands of supernatural beings, the whole atmosphere echoed with their screams and cheers but then the noise suddenly dies down as Evlyn shows up unexpectedly in their center. The sight of Evlyn made everyone even the demons tremble with fear as they sense her sinister aura all over the coven. Her presence was so intimidating that most of the supernatural beings had to bow to her recognizing her superiority and power over them.
After a brief moment of silence, Evlyn spreads her arms and begins to laugh vicious before uttering a word to the immense crowd before her and as she opened her mouth and began to speak, her voice echoed through out the coven like a clap of thunder.

Evlyn ➡ WELCOME! MY FELLOW BRETHRENS OF THR DARK! WELCOME FOR SHOWING UP TONIGHT! … I must say that I am surprised cause I never expected this much gathering and for that, I am pleased that you all came. Now, let’s get to the matter at hand.
I know you’re all wondering why I called for this assembly and I know some of you are guessing what I’m about to say. The reason why I called for this meeting was because… (Sighs)..

Surprised by Evlyn’s pause, everyone began go murmur wondering why she had stopped but then they all soon keep quiet as they hear Evlyn’s laughter echoing the atmosphere. The reaction of the ancient witch and the suspense of knowing her intentions kept everyone on the edge but eventually they soon find out the what Evlyn’s plans were.

Evlyn ➡ The reason why I called for this meeting was because I want you all to know that I’m planning to destroy this farce world so as to create a new one. I am disappointed how this world turned out to be, everything about this world makes me sick to my stomach. This world needs Order but unfortunately it doesn’t exist anymore and it’s all because of you. (pointing at the crowd). You’ve allowed these pathetic and weak humans to take control of this world and run it as they see fit. We need to remind them once again that they’re nothing but mere specks of dust that we can easily blow away. They need to be put in their place and be taught what happens if they overstep their bounds.
Humans believe that the world was created for them alone but they have no idea how wrong they are. They believe that they’re superior but they’re nothing but filth. Humans have had their time, now it is ours! What I’ve done for the last few months was just a taste of what’s to come. I will unleash something worse and terrible upon the world that will not make the humans fear us but will also drive them to the edge of extinction. I don’t plan on killing the humans but I will make life a living hell for them. They will soon know that they’re not as superior as they think.
However, the humans aren’t the only ones that will face my wrath. There are some amongst you that have objections about my views, they even DARE TO OPPOSE ME! ( laughs viciously). FOOLS. We all should be united but there are some who are willing to live in this farce world and I won’t accept it. (Laughs)… I know they’re here, listening and watching me! They may hide your magical essence but I know they’re here.

Meanwhile here amongst the crowds, Ebinoluwa who had been paying rapt attention to Evlyn was alarmed by her last statement. Rotimi who was by her side saw her reaction held her left hand and assured her that their cover wasn’t blown yet.

Ebinoluwa ➡ This is bad. She knows we’re here.
.

Rotimi ➡ Relax, she’s just trying to rattle us into making a move. We need to stay put.
.

Onuya ➡ (speaking to Hadiza) I don’t like this one bit. This looks like a trap.
.

Hadiza ➡ Yes, I also feel the same way too. Robin, what do you think?
.

Robin ➡ We came all the way here so let’s see it through. We need to find out about Evlyn’s plans.
.

Helen ➡ She’s standing right there. Let’s just kill her already.
.

Riley Jr ➡ You dey craze abi? Don’t you see that we’re outnumbered? Fighting in this place is suicide.
.

Sara ➡ We’re not necessarily outnumbered.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What do you mean?
.

Sara ➡ Mommy’s here. I can feel her presence. In fact, she’s on the other side of the coven with Aunt Christen.
.

Rotimi ➡ Shhh! Evlyn’s about to say something..
.

(Here on the other side of the coven)

Christen ➡ Rose, Evlyn’s within our grasp. Let’s make our move.
.

Rose ➡ No.. We’ll stick to the plan.
.

Christen ➡ What’s the use? She knows we’re here.
.

Rose ➡ Yes but she doesn’t know where we are. We can’t act irrationally.
.

Christen ➡ With your magic, we can even the numbers.
.

Rose ➡ Enough!!! Evlyn is trying to trap us and I’m not going to fall for it. Let’s just wait and see what she has planned.
.

Christen ➡ You wait.. I’ll find something else to do. (Walks into the crowd)
.

Rose ➡ Christen, don’t do anything stupid.
.

As the tension rises between Rose’s and Ebinoluwa groups, Evlyn continues to make her speech by going straight to let everyone know about her diabolic plans.
.

Evlyn ➡ The traitors that would let the humans be and try to oppose me should listen well. Darkness is fast approaching and the world will be swallowed in it. Time is running out and there’s nothing that you can do to stop what’s coming. Here’s the first phase of my plan; In the next few months, the world will cursed with plague and hunger that force the humans to fight with each other over their resource. Once that is done, the humans will have no choice but to feed from their entrails.
The second phase of my plan will be the unleashing of all the storms known by humans. On that day, the world will face a natural disaster that will be greater than any other they’ve ever encountered. The world’s landscape will change and be totally unrecognizable. Everything and everyone will be laid to waste until there’s almost nothing left. My third and final plan which is my grandest plan will be the bringing of hell on earth. I will unleash hell on earth and I know just how to.

Terrified by Evlyn’s revelation, Christen trembles with fear as she recalls the prophecy that she was being told about. Despite Rose’s warnings, Christen makes her presence known as she shouts and lashes out at Evlyn.
.

Christen ➡ EVLYN!!! This is it for you! I’m not going to let you do bring hell on earth.
.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs) Finally, one of the traitor shows up. Tell me, how are you going to possibly stop me.
.

Meanwhile Ebinoluwa who had noticed her mother’s presence and daring approach to Evlyn tries to join her but Rotimi grabs hold of her instantly and pulls her away from the coven. Back in the passage they followed, Ebinoluwa lashes out on Rotimi on why he had stopped her from rescuing her mother.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ HOW DARE YOU DO THAT? Why didn’t you let me join my mom? What if she gets killed?
.

Rotimi ➡ I’m just looking out for your safety.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Safety!? Some boyfriend you are! You’re just looking out for you own interest. Let me go so that I can save my mom from doing the unthinkable.
.

Rotimi ➡ I’m afraid I can’t do that.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I wasn’t asking, I’m DEMANDING! LET ME GO!
.

Rotimi ➡ (shakes Ebinoluwa violently) SHUT UP AND LISTEN TO ME!!! Do you even realize what will happen if your mother’s group find out you’re like Evlyn? I don’t like keeping you away from your mother but this is only way I can keep you from commiting a grave mistake. It won’t matter if the council found out that you’re opposing Evlyn. To them, you’ll still be a threat and they won’t hesitate to turn against you. So say whatever it is you want to say but I’m not letting you go. I’m sure your parents would approve of what I just did. It would be unfortunate if you and your mother ended up dead here and in case you’ve forgotten, you’re only chance against Evlyn.

Robin and the others who were also present were at first in support of Ebinoluwa’s decision but after hearing what Rotimi said, they realize their own mistake.

Robin ➡ I hate to admit it but Ogbon is right.
.

Hadiza ➡ But we can’t leave them alone inside that gathering. They’re greatly outnumbered.
.

Helen ➡ Mommy can settle the score.
.

Onuya ➡ Everyone! I think we’ve been fooled.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ What do you mean?
.

Onuya ➡ Well, as I was leaving the coven, I bumped into one ghoul and to my surprise I felt nothing.. It was passing through air. I think all those beings in that coven are..
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ Illusions.. That b-tch!!!! How could I not sense it?
.

Rotimi ➡ None of us did. So what now? We can’t go back in there.
.

Robin ➡ No we have to help them some how.
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I think I have an idea.

Meanwhile here inside the coven, Christen, Rose and their team surround Evlyn from all sides keeping their safe distance so that she wouldn’t be able to reach them easily. After seeing that her opposition had revealed themselves, Evlyn laughs cynically and then slowly waves her right hand in mid-air. As soon as she does that, all the beings gathered in the coven began to fade and vanish to the display of Rose and the others.
After the gathering had vanishes, the vast coven was nothing short of empty revealing the location of Rose, Christen and the others.

Evlyn ➡ Well, well, well. I was expecting an army but all I see is a handful of you.
.

Rose ➡ You want an army? You will get one.
.

Within a blink of an eye, Rose summons her shadow monsters in vast number and before long, the entire coven was filled with Rose’s minions. Evlyn who was astonished by this smiled viciously as she stared at Rose pointing at her.
.

Evlyn ➡ So you’re the infamous Rose I’ve heard about? It seems the stories are true. It’s a shame we didn’t meet sooner, I would have loved to have you at my whim.
.

Rose ➡ (scoffs mockingly) Whim!? What do you take me for? I do whatever I please. I serve no one and I obey no one.

Evlyn ➡ Marvelous! Such fire. You remind me of Xeira. She’s the only one who has the guts to address me the way you do.

Christen ➡ Enough talk! You’re going down Evlyn!
.

Evlyn ➡ And you must be Ebinoluwa’s mother!? You both have the same smell. So you’re the witch that mated with a human! You’re a disgrace and a traitor, I would love nothing more than to kill you but I sense something in you. You have vast potential even now I can sense it. If you join me, I will grant you a place in my new world. Killing a witch of your caliber would be a waste.

Christen ➡ No.. I’m never joining you. There’s nothing that you can offer me. This is where you’re going to die.
.

Evlyn ➡ IMPUDENT BRAT!!! ENOUGH!
.

Outraged by Christen’s statement, Evlyn blasts everyone in the coven with her magical energy, the impact was so powerful and devastating that it felt like a shockwave. In response to Evlyn’s attack, Christen retaliates with a powerful lightning blast that sparks all over the coven, Rose and the other witches/wizards unleash their attacks as well but their efforts were futile.
Within a blink of an eye, Evlyn absorbs their attacks and then sends it back at them decimating them with one strike. Christen who had managed to block her own attack in time, tries to cast another spell but Evlyn quickly prevents her from doing so by making all the stones in the coven converge and cluster all around her body leaving her head open. After that, Evlyn pulls Christen towards her and then begins to toy with her front of the others.

Evlyn ➡ You all have great magic but it’s not enough to stop me and if this is how you plan to stop me, then you’re all doomed. As I said earlier, I will bring hell on earth and all I have to do is open the barriers between earth and hell.
.

Christen ➡ Fancy talk but your plans will never work. We will stop you.
.

Evlyn ➡ (laughs) Oh I don’t have to do anything to open the gates of hell. The humans will.
.

Christen ➡ Humans?
.

Evlyn ➡ That’s right! Their sins is the key to bringing hell on earth. This world is so full of sinners that it reeks of their stench. I can feel them all. All I have to do is channel this sins through the barriers and once that is done. This world will be over. (Laughs)
.

Christen ➡ No! I won’t let you do this.
.

Evlyn ➡ Oh really? Do you really think that you have a chance against me? Even if you plan to stop me, there’s only one way and that’s to kill all the humans. By doing that, you can stop hell from coming into this earth. So what’s it going to be? Can you kill all the humans? Can you go through all that and live with it?
.

After viewing the options before her, Christen trembles angrily but then her face lits up. She stares at the humans tied and gagged close to her menacingly and then stares back at Evlyn. Seeing the darkness in Christen’s eyes, Evlyn lets her go and then steps back watching as Christen stands before the humans staring down at them in the most vicious manner.

Evlyn ➡ So what’s it going to be? Spare the humans or eradicate them!?
.

Christen ➡ Humans took my mom away from me. That is something I can never forgive. They infect this world with their poisonous existence and it makes me sick.
.

Evlyn ➡ Right you are! So what are you going to do about it?
.

Christen ➡ For a long time, I’ve been asking myself that question but now, I think I have the answer.
.

In that moment, Rose who had regained consciousness suddenly saw what her sister was planning to do, she tries to reach out to her but Evlyn prevents her from doing so by creating a powerful ring of fire around them. As Rose tries to put out the fire with her magic, the fire increases enormously spreading out through out the coven.
.

Rose ➡ CHRISTEN!!!! don’t do this.. This isn’t you.
.

Evlyn ➡ Don’t listen to her! This is your chance to choose how this is going to be!
.

Rose ➡ CHRISTEN!!! SHE’S USING YOU. DON’T LET HER MANIPULATE ME!
.

Christen ➡ But the only way to prevent hell from coming to earth. This has to be done.
.

Rose ➡ Don’t do this.
.

Christen ➡ Why? You’ve killed humans for years so why can’t I? This world would be better off without the humans. This needs to be done.
.

Rose ➡ CHRISTEN! NO!!!
.

After making up her mind, Christen drains the life force of the humans before her all at the same time and as soon as she was done, she lets out a sigh of pleasure and joins Evlyn by her side. Maddened by rage, Rose yells angrily and then summons her shadow minions making them to charge at Evlyn. Despite being burnt by Evlyn’s ring of fire, the monsters kept charging and charging until they began to force their way through. Seeing that her ring of fire was being breached, Evlyn increases it’s intensity and vastness trying to incinerate everyone in the coven but before that could happen, Evlyn opens a portal leading to her fortress and commands her to go through.

Evlyn ➡ Christen, enter this portal. It will take you to my fortress. Wait for me there and I’ll be with you shortly after I clean this mess up.
.

Without hesitation, Christen walks into the portal which then disappears after she enters it. With her prize now out of the way, Evlyn increases the intensity of her flame to the extent that the coven was crumbling apart and before she could carry out her evil intentions, something unexpected occurs.
Suddenly out of nowhere, a small stone zooms straight at Evlyn and hits on the head. The pain was so hurting that the dark witch was forced to scream in agony but that was nothing compared to what came next. Shortly after Evlyn had been hit with a stone, her magic ceased completely and so did her flames. She was left all alone and defenseless. Using the opportunity before her, Rose launches herself at Evlyn and begins to beat her mercilessly throwing punches and kicks.
Despite the assault rained upon her, Evlyn soon retaliates and begins to fight Rose as well. The 2 witch fought hard but Rose was no match for Evlyn who had millennium of combat skills at her disposal but before things could get ugly, Rose soon results into using her magic. Within a blink of an eye, Rose blasts Evlyn away with some kind of dark matter then she unleashes her minions upon the ancient witch making them to tear her apart but none of that lasted for long.

Evlyn ➡ Your magic is magnificent Rose but let me show you what true magic is.
.

Within a blink of an eye, Evlyn disperses all of Rose’s minions with an explosive lightning spell that shook the coven, she then creates portals all over the coven making them to shoot out balls of lava 🌋 and as if that wasn’t devastating enough, Evlyn then opens another portal unleashing winged monsters who created devastating sonic waves with their screams.
Just as all hope seemed lost, Ebinoluwa appears and cast a black hole spell which swallowed all of Evlyn’s spells and monsters in an instant. Seeing that Ebinoluwa had appeared, Evlyn laughs and then rushes towards her with great speed but before she could get close, she was held by powerful webs made by Rose’s daughter Helen. Evlyn tries to break herself free but the more the struggles the tighter the webs get. Whilst the dark witch was struggling, Rotimi jumps out of nowhere and punches her so hard that her hands trapped in the web were ripped off as she was sent flying half way cross the coven. Eager to finish off Evlyn, Rotimi charges towards her again and tries to punch her but unfortunately for him, the dark witch had already recovered and just as he was about to get close to her, she pins him down with a powerful lightning bolt.

Rotimi ➡ (groans painfully)
.

Evlyn ➡ Impudent fool! You think you can stop me!? For your defiance, I will make you suffer.
.

As Evlyn was about to punish Rotimi, Ebinoluwa quickly uses teleportation and switches place with him. Outraged by this act, Evlyn tries to make another move but before she could do so, an unexpected cavalry arrives.
.

Orisaye ➡ Give it up Evlyn! We have you surrounded.
.

Rose ➡ Your eminence!
.

Orisaye ➡ Rose.. I’m sorry I bailed out on you. I hope I haven’t arrived too late.
.

Rose ➡ That b-tch took my sister.
.

Oliver ➡ Christen!!
.

Aunt Jezebel ➡ Christen.. Where is she?
.

Seeing the appearance of the Supreme witch and a large number of other witches and supernatural beings, Evlyn scoffs mockingly at them as she makes a final statement.
.

Evlyn ➡ You think you’ve all won?! You’re greatly mistaken. This is just the beginning of the end for all of you and since you all have chosen to oppose me, you will regret it dearly. The next time we meet, I’ll be the last thing you’ll ever see.
.

After that statement, Evlyn eyes glow and her mouth opens emitting some kind of reddish light. In that moment, her body levitates into the air and starts to emit the same kind of light from her mouth. Before long, Evlyn’s body glows brighter releasing a devastating heat all over the coven and in that moment, the coven starts to rumble and crumble.

Rose ➡ what’s this b-tch doing?
.

Ebinoluwa ➡ I think she’s trying to take us out. We need to leave.
.

Orisaye ➡ Everyone! Retreat now! Retreat immediately. Hurry!
.

One by one, Rose, Ebinoluwa and everyone began to teleport out of the coven and shortly after they had all disappeared, Evlyn’s body explodes destroying the coven but the explosion didn’t stop just at the coven, it also reached the entrance which was the outskirts of Oyo producing a devastating heat into the atmosphere and a small scale earthquake that shook half of the city and as soon as the earthquake had ceased, all the beautiful trees and plants laying in the outskirts of Oyo immediately dried up and withered.

Amidst that calamity, Evelyn appears at the entrance of the coven looking weak and tired. After exhausting all her magic to carry out the first phase of her plan, her body was now old and wrinkly that she could barely move. After seeing that the first phase of her plan had succeeded, she teleports herself to a nearby village further away from Ibadan where she meets a bunch of farmers coming back from their farms late at night. The farmers who saw her appear in front of them yelled and tried to run for their lives but they were stopped by Evlyn’s telekinesis.
One by one, Evlyn drains the farmers of their life-force and then feeds on their flesh. After feeding on her prey, Evlyn’s body soon returns to normal but her powers were yet to it’s peak.

Evlyn ➡ Looks like it’s going to take a while before I get back at full strength. Well, it doesn’t matter. I’ve won and time is on my side, until I return, I will stay and feed on the people of this village. I hope those fools at my fortress can manage without me.
