CHAPTER 49&50

Three minutes after he left, TSUNAMI came in.

Richie asked a question with his lifted brows immediately, and Tsunami smiled knowingly, taking his seat in front of him without waiting to be told so.

“I know that question, who am i? Well…call me Tsunami, and I’m gonna be one of the lead characters in your love story with Lovelyn Jeong from now on” he said, resting back on the chair.

Richie remained silent, just staring at the man in front of him, studying the features of his tattoos for any clue.

“I didn’t watch the handover when it was shown on TV, but now I’m seeing it for myself. You’re really the youngest CEO existing. Heard you’re just 18, turning 19 soon, how lucky” he further said, and that was when Richie saw what he’s looking for in his tattoos.

He’s got the tattoo of a burning fire among the ones on his forearms, and it’s so clear.

“You’re a member of Agora cult, right?” He said, and Tsunami smiled, clicking his tongue.

“Whoa! You’re just as described, a friggin genius. Yes I’m a member of the cult, and i know a huge secret about your so-called girlfriend, Lovelyn Jeong isn’t it? Wire me some cash, let’s start with….. 5 million? And I’d tell you all of her secrets. I bet you don’t even know anything about the girl you fell in love with” Tsunami said.

“No one knows about our relationship yet, how did you find out?” Richie frowned.

“Cos there’s nothing going on in the life of that girl that I don’t know about. Are you paying or not? Let’s strike a deal” Tsunami smiled.

“And why would I strike a deal with you cos of a secret I don’t wanna know? You must be insane to come here thinking I’d really believe your jargons” Richie replied with a straight face.

“You’re talking too much, Richie Kim” Tsunami said with a hard glare.

“And i am in my office, I’m the president of this company and I have the right to say anything inside any space in this building without getting judged. Now leave” Richie ordered.

“I envy your trust for her, but let’s see if the trust is gon stand till the end. I’m more than willing right now to ease your coming pains, but since you’re chosing the hard way, we’d do just that” Tsunami said and stood.

“Enjoy the rest of your day, Mr. Richie Kim” he smiled ominously and left the office.

Richie inhaled softly, resting back on the swivel again.

He shut his eyes, trying to just shake off what just happened, but he opened his eyes almost immediately and got his phone.

HORIZON HIGHSCHOOL*

“What did you say she told you? What did Mone tell you and why did you run out of the class like that?” Yuri asked Mabel who’s leaning on the wall.

They’re at the rooftop balcony, facing each other.

“Still remember that day last year? When we took Chloe to the restroom cos she was caught talking with Savage your crush” Mabel replied.

“Sure. We took her to the restroom, and i was the one who forced her mouth open. You farted inside” Yuri said.

“That was what Mone whispered in my ear in class earlier, she knows about it and it only means one thing!” Mabel said a little bit louder.

“She’s… really Chloe? Huh?” Yuri said, swallowing fearfully.

“I’m not sure, I’m going crazy right now” Mabel said nervously.

“If she’s really Chloe then I’m dead! You’re still covered with your tag but I don’t have one!” Yuri said.

“We didn’t push her down the stairs that day, so if she’s here to take revenge for that, then we’re free” Mabel said.

“But what if she’s here to take revenge for all the bullying we did to her?” Yuri replied shakily, and Mabel grabbed her by her shirt, so tight.

“Ma… Mab..el” she struggled.

“Stop the f**king shakiness, else I might just kill you before Mone does” she glared, and Yuri swallowed.

SENIOR CLASS*

Lovelyn rushed out of class after getting a text which she’s sure of the source.

She entered a washroom, and she clicked on the message impatiently. It’s from Richie.

• Baby, can you call me when you see this?

She dialled his line immediately, and he picked fast.

“Richie” she smiled.

“Can we hangout tonight?” He asked.

“Where?” She asked cheerfully.

“You’ll know about it by 7, I’d pick up” he replied.

“Sure, I can’t wait” she smiled again.

“See you then, bye baby”

“Bye, Richie” she bit her lip as she hung up, hugging the phone.

“Does this mean he didn’t see the Bernie stuff?” She smiled, still hugging the phone as she walked out of the room, only to meet Bernie waiting outside.

She rolled eyes as she took her phone away from her chest, and she walked past him.

“Lovelyn, i know you’re mad at me and…

“Why would you kiss me publicly without my permission” she turned back.

“If I asked for your permission, wound you have allowed it?” He asked, and she scoffed.

“Really? So now you go around kissing girls randomly?”

“You’re not a random girl, Lovelyn” he replied.

“Then what am I to you?” She asked, coming closer, and he swallowed speechlessly.

“Bernie Han, what am I to you?” She asked, and he looked away from her eyes immediately.

“See? You don’t even know what’s wrong with you” she said and walked out of the corridor.

KIM MANSION*

Lady Genevieve was preparing to go to the saloon when Mabel rushed into the mansion, and she stopped on the stairs she was about to climb.

“Princess? Why are you back home by this time?” She asked, and Mabel rushed to her.

“Mum, you have to step into this matter before it gets worse” she said breathlessly.

“What matter?”

“The new VIP student, I swear she’s Chloe, the student I bullied last semester. I’m sure she came back for revenge and I…

“What are you talking about Mabel? Listen i understand their uncanny resemblance cos I saw her picture too, but saying she’s Chloe is crazy. She’s the ex-president’s daughter who has been staying hidden since she was born, she came home just last week to complete her highschool here and that’s why she’s in Horizon. Mabel stop your delusions” Lady Genevieve cut her off.

“No mum I definitely know what I’m talking about. She knows exactly what we did to Chloe in the restroom and she…

“Mabel I understand your fears, but Chloe is gone and gone for good ok? I need to go to the saloon. Momma needs a new hairstyle” Lady Genevieve gave her hair a kiss before leaving the mansion in the company of her guards and maids

Mabel held the rails with an hand and drove the second one into her hair crazily.

“No one is believing me, Mone is gonna kill me at this rate” she muttered, kicking the rails frustratingly.

HORIZON HIGHSCHOOL_LUNCHTIME, CAFETERIA*

Mone entered the cafeteria with Mira and Hwasa, and they’ve already settled on a table before Lovelyn joined them.

“Finally done with your classwork?” Mira asked mockingly.

“I’ll never forgive Mr. Luke for giving me the classwork all alone” Lovelyn replied.

“Blame yourself for being the best chemistry student in class” Hwasa said.

“Really? She is?” Mone said.

“Of course. Baby Love is the best in Chemistry and English, and Hwasa is the best in Math and Korean language” Mira replied.

“So…where are you good at?* Mone asked.

“I’m a B student. I’ve never had an A” Mira pouted, and they laughed.

“What about you Mone? What’s your strength?” Lovelyn asked.

“I’m good in all subjects” Mone replied.

“Whoa!” Mira clapped.

“I envy you” Hwasa said.

“We’re having sports period tommorow, at least a little fun will help. This semester is too stressful” Lovelyn said, and their phones chimed at once.

They checked at once too, and their eyes widened when they saw the update on the school community.

• The president’s yearly banquet is coming soon, interested students should register for the dance battle. As you all know, the best male and female would be picked to go honour the president at the blue house on the day of the banquet.

Mone’s eyes brightened immediately she read.

“OMG!” Mira’s eyes shone.

“I have no plans to take part in the dance battle” Lovelyn said simply, dropping her phone.

“Me too” Hwasa said, and they stuck hands.

“I participated last year, but i wasn’t picked. I hope I get picked this year” Mira said.

“Me too” Mone replied, and they stuck hands.

“Rivals” they chorused and laughed.

Right now, the whole cafeteria is already noisy as everyone went crazy over the news as expected.

Ruby entered the cafeteria, and immediately she saw Mone, she turned to leave.

“Ruby join us!” Mone waved at her, and she turned back slowly.

“She’s bad news, I don’t want her here” Mira said.

“Just for some minutes” Mone replied, and Mira rolled eyes as Ruby got to them

“You should eat with us, we’re friends, aren’t we?” Mone smiled, and Ruby began shaking.

“Why are you shaking? Sit” Mone said, and she took her seat.

“Are you participating in the dance battle too?” Mone asked, and Ruby shook her head nervously.

“Why? Heard you participated last year” Mone said.

“She did, we participated together” Mira replied.

“And I heard the female winner named Chloe was pushed down the stairs that year. Isn’t that the Chloe who looks like me?” Mone said knowingly, and Ruby shook more.

Lovelyn and Mira exchanged glances while Hwasa looked at shaking Ruby.

Just why is she shaking so much?

“Mone, why are you… asking her all those?” Mira asked.

“Nothing, I’m just sure that Chloe was pushed by one of the participants who are jealous of her” Mone replied, and Ruby spranged up.

She rushed out of her seat and fell as a result.

She stood on her own and rushed out of the cafeteria eventually.

“She was shaking so much” Hwasa muttered.

“It’s nothing, let’s eat” Mone smiled, taking her spoon.

From the entrance of the cafeteria, Savage stood with an hurtful look on his face, staring intently at her.

7:20PM, LOVELYN’S PLACE*

Lovelyn was already waiting in front of the house when Richie’s car pulled up, and a big smile took over her face immediately.

He came out of the car, smiling big too, and she ran into his arms, hugging him dearly.

He swept her up and swayed her, making her squeal loudly, and he pecked her lips before dropping her.

“How was school today?” He asked, playing with her nails.

“Fun. We received the new student and I made a new friend” she smiled.

” Bernie? ” He said, and she gasped.

” You saw that? Richie he kissed me suddenly and…

Richie placed his finger on her lips immediately, and she paused.

“I know you didn’t kiss him, I’m gonna be teaching him a lesson for that” he said.

” What will you do? ” She asked.

” Secret” she replied, hugging her again.

“How about your office today?” She asked, closing her eyes on his shoulder.

“I didn’t work much, so I have the needed energy for our hangout” he replied, and she broke the hug.

“Really?” She smiled, and he nodded before carrying her again.

“Ah! Richie!” She gasped at the suddenness.

“Shh” he winked, and she laughed as he placed her in the car gently.

“Shall we?” He asked. She replied with a kiss on his lips.

He smiled with a slight lip bite before entering the car too, driving them away.

Lovelyn didn’t understand what he meant by HANGOUT till they got to Itaewon Night Market, and her eyes widened as she came out of the car.

“OMG I’ve always wanted to come here! Richie!” She said happily, and Richie chuckled. Seeing her happy like this is energy for him, it means a lot.

“You like it here?” He asked.

“No I love it! Come on let’s go feed our eyes!” She pulled him into the crowdy dazzling beautiful market, and the first place they stopped at was a fish cake shop.

“Have you ever tried fish cake?” She asked as she picked one skewer.

“Nope” he replied.

“Then try it” she gave it to him, and he took it.

She was looking at him as he had a bite, and his eyes widened immediately.

“It’s good!” He said.

“I knew it!” She giggled, picking one for herself too.

Richie finished the one with him and picked another, but his mouth wall got burnt immediately he tried to eat cos it’s still so hot.

“F**k! I burnt myself!” He gasped.

“Come here” Lovelyn pulled his face closer, and he opened his mouth, so she began blowing air inside, but he suddenly kissed her, and she pushed his forehead away with a finger

“You both are so adorable. You can have as much as you want, it’s on the house” the man selling said.

“Jinjja? Gomawo halabeoji (really? Thanks Pa)” Lovelyn said, and the man smiled.

They left his stall and went to the buns stall next, then the beef jerky place where they even bought takeaways.

They came across a game arcade, and Lovelyn’s eyes widened.

“Gawd! Richie come fast!” She shouted as she ran in.

Richie was walking slowly behind, so she came back to pull him in, and he was laughing till they got in and started with the mallet game first.

She was winning every game till they got to the archery, and when he began winning her in the arrows, she pushed him away, and he fell on the ground, laughing so loud.

“I didn’t cheat when you were winning yunno?” He said, and she fell on top of him.

“That makes you a man, my baby” she winked, and his eyes became wistful with affection.

“Can you….call me that again?” He whispered, and she brought her lips closer.

“My baby” she whispered, and he almost pulled her into a kiss right there, but they were interrupted by a kid.

“Get a room! This ain’t an hotel!” The girl said, and Lovelyn quickly stood from him.

She pulled him out, and they were laughing, slow mo activated as they ran hand in hand down the market.

They went to the vending machine next where they got sodas before going to the bridge where a lot of lovers are standing on too.

A crescent moon sat in the sky, right in the middle of the river with stars surrounding it.

“Aww, so beautiful” she gushed.

“Not as you, baby” he replied, and she faced him with a large smile.

He opened his soda and gave it to her, then he took hers and opened it for himself. They clinked cans and drank at once, smiling at each other.

“Buy padlocks for 500 dollars only!” an old woman said beside them, and they faced him at once.

“It’d be meaningless if you come here as lovers without locking a padlock together, that’s why this place is called lovers dome” the woman smiled.

Richie got his wallet immediately, and be gave her 1000 dollars instead.

She gave him the padlock with a big smile, then she looked at the two of them.

“It won’t be easy, but at the end, love will win” she said, and Richie smiled.

“Thanks granny” Lovelyn replied, and she eventually left.

Richie and Lovelyn squatted beside the bridge rails. It’s full of various padlocks, different colours, but the weird thing is that their padlock color is different from the others.

It’s red, and there’s no other red padlock on the rail among the numerous locks.

Together, they hung it on the metal, and their hands are on each other as they locked it together.

They stood together at once, and Richie held her hands, staring only at her pretty eyes.

Tsunami’s words from earlier hit his head again, but he has decided to overlook it and act like it never happened.

He’s probably some clout chaser who’s after money. Agora cult members are all full of greed for money according to history, so he’d just believe that theory.

He loves this girl madly, and he’s gonna stake everything he has. He trusts her, and he’d forever do.

“I love you, Lovie” he whispered in the most passionate tone ever, and she smiled as her lips parted.

“I love you too, Richie” she said, and while his hands slipped on her slim waist, she hung hers on his shoulders, caging him possessively to herself as their lips met.

They began kissing softly under the starry night sky, forgetting about the presence of others.

From afar, Tsunami is standing in the middle of the crowd with a black hoodie on his head, danger smelling thickly on him.

Slowly, he got a gun from his pocket.
