Chapter Thirty One:
Ares
” little mouse ” I watch her stare at me ” I know how an elephant look like okay but am not sure…..”
” you can’t take back your words, you promised” she rush her words and I nod, I wasn’t planning on taking back my words either
” all am saying is that….” I stopped myself half way, I know she wants to go today and telling her am leaving for a week will make that happy face turn sad ” I will make some calls, go get ready ” exhaling I watch her use the elevator for the first time, why do the simplest things in life make her so happy
Am still yet to understand her
Am still yet to know why this skull did what he did
I haven’t figure out what the five star means
I still have a lot of things to do, am thinking of meeting Desdemona, she might be able to help me out with these things but first I need to take little mouse to see an elephant
How annoying can my life get, standing to my feet I dip my hands into my pocket, pulling my phone out to make some arrangement

Putting on my blue jeans trouser, black shirt and rolling my hair into a knot I use the elevator downstairs but Ares is no way to be found, moving to the centre table I found a note
‘ meet me on the roof top little mouse’
This house have a roof top, I keep getting surprised each day. Stepping out of the house, I found a ladder that leads to the roof top and I carefully followed it ” Ares??”
Climbing it I exhale, my mouth remain hang open, a private jet seem to be waiting for us to get me, getting into a plane was suppose to be my second wish but guess that’s cancelled already
” come on little mouse ” Ares yell ” the elephant are gonna die waiting ” nodding I fasten my steps to meet him as we get into the plane, I watch him sit on the drivers sit and I fold my hands ” put on your seat belt little mouse ”
” you plan on driving this thing ” he nod ” am not getting killed” shaking my head I stare at Ares confused ” have you done this before??”
He stare at me looking amused ” do you trust me little mouse ” this was exactly what Aladdin said before taking princess Jasmine on a carpet ride and now I know what to say
” No, absolutely not ” before I could jump off the jet, he clasp my seat belt and start the engine ” oh god!!!” The jet keeps lifting in height, my heart pounding ” forgive me my sins ” I close my eyes ” I know I have done a lot of things but I need a second chance t…..” Ares increased the speed level ” oh god, oh god….Ares am gonna die” I was yelling and before I know what was happening tears is flowing off my eyes ” I just wanted to see an elephant not to get killed” I sob loudly ” Ares why??”
I use the corner of my eye to watch a laughing Ares, he is biting his l-ips to keep him from laughing further, he swallowed then exhale thrice ” are you okay Zoe ” the moment I face him frowning he burst out laughing once again but at least the speed has reduced
……
I quickly jump off the jet, I look around the place ” we are in India??” I stare at Ares, he nod then shrugged ” they have lots of elephant here”
” wow” I look around ” am still mad at you ” I frown at Ares who sigh before showing me the way, getting close to the elephant my face light up, it is really so huge, look at those ears and nose
” here sir” the man attending to it hand the robe over to Ares while I touch the elephant body, its so calm and peaceful ” I like it ” smiling Ares climb on it before giving me his hands
Holding them he lift me up, placing me in front of him, using my legs I tap the elephant and it start moving, I almost fell but Ares hold me still ” careful ” he whispered before pulling back a bit
The wind swirl around our body, the wh0le ranch empty, just the elephant and us. I have never felt this way before, its so calm. Turning around I stare at Ares
His gaze fixed at his side, a boy playing catch with his dad while the mother laughed, Ares look so distant and alone again, that gaze that always get my attention, they are things Ares is still hiding from me, why do you always have that expression on his face, why do you always look this sad when you’re thinking
How do I let him know I will always be here for him, am not leaving his side, his gaze met mine and that shield is back on his face. He smile looking confused as to why am starring at him “are you enjoying yourself” I asked knowing fully well he isn’t
” No”he muttered ” I hate elephants ” he title his head up then sigh ” its nostalgic Zoe” rolling my eyes I coughed gaining his attention
” my second wish is to see you dance ” I muttered stopping the elephant and Ares look so surprised and shocked ” are you joking ” he mock laugh but I didn’t smile making him see how serious I am
” dance??” He muttered, I get off the elephant and so did he, running his hands through his hair he look at me ” here??” I nod, he look at his left then right
He clear his throat, lift one hand up then down, he move his left hand to his right then down ” am done” he muttered sweating, I bite my l-ips from laughing
” that isn’t a dance”
” I just shake my body ” I chuckle shaking my head ” give me back my wish Ares, I do not accept that one bit ”
” after I embarrassed myself ” he laughed ” absolutely not..let’s go back”
” please no!!” Am crying again ” I don’t want to go home, I want to make one more wish” I storm my feet on the floor but to my surprise Ares is already walking back
That bastard
” wait for me!!” Running after him, the moment I caught up with him I hold his hands ” let’s take a picture ” pointing at the photographer I know he will decline so I draw him towards that direction
” three pictures please ” I hand him some money and run back, pulling the elephant towards the s₱0t breathing hærd, elephants are really heavy
” say cheese”
Holding Ares hands I smile brightly ” cheese ” after the picture was taken I place my hands on Ares neck, drawing him down, he frown at me and I wink for the second picture
The third picture was Ares throwing me on his shoulder out of there ” but we haven’t collected them ”
” we will get them later” he muttered
” Ares, can we buy the elephant?? ”
” No”
” why not”
” still no”
” Ares”
” Mmmm”
” why are you sad??” He stopped walking ” I have tried everything to make you smile but you keep frowning, what’s wrong ” he drop me off his shoulder
” I ruin your day didn’t I” he sigh still looking sad, I stare at him, people are starting to full the wh0le place, climbing different elephants
” by 12 am its gonna be a new year, I want you to be smiling ” I step closer holding his hands ” please ”
” nothing good is gonna come out next year Zoe, I only wish is for you to remain nineteen for life but that isn’t possible ” his words shocked me to the core, why will he want that
.” why are you saying that ”
” I don’t know little mouse ” he rob my cheek ” just know that when you’re happy, am happy ” he smile but I know something is bothering him
” do you trust me Ares” it was my turn to ask, he nod his head and I smile ” good because we are going back to that man and collecting my pictures, I paid money for that ” turning around I fasten my steps towards the man before Ares stop me
” I think am training a little child ” Ares yell
” that’s why my pet name is little mouse!! ” I yell back, they is no way a man is eating my money. These days is hærd to get money
