CHAPTER 12

“Ruby I thought I asked you to do the necessary things,” Landon said looking at Ruby.

“I would show her to the kitchen, Sir. I wanted her to sign the contract first before going further.” Ruby responded and Landon sighed.

“Sign the papers,” Landon said and Kim walked back to where they were.

She took the pamphlet and didn’t bother to read the instructions or whatever was written in it.

She got to the place she was to sign and she picked up the pen and signed on it.

She did the same thing till she got to the end of the pamphlet.

“Can you please show me the Kitchen now?” Kim asked looking at Ruby.

Ruby said no words but began to walk. Kim looked at Landon and saw he wasn’t even looking at her.

She stood up and began to follow behind Ruby.

Landon raised his head as soon as Kimberly stood up and he stared at her backside.

“Why is she so beautiful? But just so annoying?” He thought as he glared at her.

Kim felt Landon’s eyes on her backside and she looked back to see him staring at her.

Immediately he saw he was caught, he looked away quickly acting like he wasn’t looking.

Kimberly rolled her eyes and entered the door that Ruby entered.
As she stepped into the kitchen, her mouth fell open.

“Why would just a person own a kitchen that looks like a palace?” She questioned herself.

“I know you haven’t used any expensive equipment in your goddamned life, so please be careful with them. Just a mug can buy your apartment.” Ruby said giggling and walked out of the kitchen.

Tears rolled down Kimberly’s eyes immediately she heard those words come out of Ruby’s mouth.

She couldn’t blame her because she was the one at fault. If she had come out with a good grade and secured a job, that rabbit won’t just open her mouth and spit out nonsense.

She wiped the tears off her face and began to look for where the coffee was.

She opened the fridge and saw the coffee jar with “Taster’s Choice” written on it.

“So he loves my kind of coffee too.” She thought carrying the jar out of the fridge. She sighted the coffee maker next to her and she smiled.

“I can’t wait to make this.” She thought.

“Boss do you want me to do anything before I take my leave?” Ruby asked Landon and he raised his head to look at her.

“Are you tired of staying here?” He teased and she shook her head.
“No Sir.” She responded.

“You can go. You have done your part.” He declared and she nodded walking away. She got a little far from him and then paused.

Landon noticing this glared at her wondering why?

“Boss, can I ask you something?” Ruby asked looking at Landon. It was troubling her and she knew she had to spit it out.

“What’s that?” Landon asked with his gaze still fix on her.

“Why her?” She asked and Landon furrowed his brows.

“What are you talking about?” Landon asked pretending not to understand what she meant.

“Why did you pick Kimberly out of all the particip-nts?” She further asked feeling very jealous.

“And when did you start questioning my authority?” He asked and she swallowed hΓ¦rd keeping mute.

“Good night Ruby,” Landon said facing his phone.

She nodded reluctantly walking out of the mansion.

“No matter who Kim is to Landon, I would never be a fan of her. She is just so full of herself.” Ruby thought storming away.

The kitchen door opened and Kimberly walked out of it carrying a tray in her hand.

On the tray, there was a mug cup that had Landon’s picture on it. It happened to be Landon’s best mug cup.

She placed the tray on the table in front of Landon with a smile on her face.

“I thought you would love the cup, so I decided to use it.” She said and Landon kept a straight face.

He reached for the cup and moved it to his mouth. Kimberly stared anxiously as he took his first sip.

A smile crept on her face and all of a sudden Landon spat out the coffee right on her uniform.

“What the h…” She yelled and then looked at her body in anger.

“Are you dumb? didn’t you read the pamphlet before signing?” He asked in anger and Kim crinkled her brows.

“What’s in it? The procedure to make coffee?” She asked and Landon stood up.

“Why would you put so much sugar and milk in my coffee! That’s one of the first things emphasized in the pamphlets!” He yelled in anger and Kim shivered fearfully.

She had never seen him that angry.

Landon’s face turned red and Kimberly began to shiver seriously.

“Mr. Landon, are you okay?” She asked as he began to cough.

“Stay away from me.” He muttered walking away from her and she stared at him as he did.

She quickly reached for the pamphlet on the table and began to glance through.

Then she saw the first rules on the front page she had signed earlier.
She read out to herself;

“Mr. Landon doesn’t take sugar and excess milk. He is allergic to it.” She read in astonishment.

She knew she should have read through but she was just too lazy to do so.

“Mr. Landon are you okay?” She said taking the same path he took. She felt bad about it because she was at fault.

She walked down the hallway not knowing exactly where Landon was.

“Mr. Landon?” She called again and just then she heard him cough behind the door next to her.

“Mr. Landon what can I get you to ease your pain?” She asked fearfully placing her ear on the door.

“Go away.” He said In a cold tone.

She wanted to say sorry but then she remembered she doesn’t say sorry even though she is at fault.

“I should go away? Okay. I would go and read the rest of the rules.” She said with her ears still against the door.

She was about to stand upright when Landon opened the door all of a sudden making her lose her balance.

She staggered into the room, and Landon moved away and she fell on the floor hitting her head slightly.

“Ouch! why didn’t you grab me?!” She asked rubbing the side of her head with her palm.

Landon kept mute staring at her in outrage. Kimberly raised her head to look at him and she saw his face wasn’t red anymore.

“Get out.” He muttered and Kim rolled her eyes.

“I was leaving when you opened the door. It’s not my fault.” She mumbled standing up and dusting her uniform.

She walked to the door and then Landon stopped her by speaking up.

“You should be punished for what you did today.” He said and Kimberly looked at him.

“Why? Because of a slight mistake? I wanted to help but you pushed me away.” She said frowning.

“Are you still trying to push the blame on me! you almost killed me!” Landon yelled and Kimberly swallowed hΓ¦rd.

“Thank heavens you didn’t die.” She responded. Landon couldn’t measure the anger that was building in,side of him.

“Why can’t you just apologize?” He thought still glaring at her cute but annoying face.

“Leave.” He said with his jaw clenched.

“Thank you.” She replied with a smile on her face. She walked out of the room and Landon held his hair sighing.

“You should fire her.” His brain told him.

“No, I can’t. She can’t suffer if she isn’t in this mansion. I would break those wings of hers myself. She would regret working as my maid.” He cursed underneath his breath shutting his door.

CHAPTER 13

Kimberly grabbed the pamphlet, sat on the couch, and began to read starting from the beginning. She realized that he had lots of allergies.

He is allergic to crabs, too much chilly pepper, sugar, and too much milk, very cold food, and many more.

“How will he even enjoy himself when he is allergic to almost everything? And he has the money. I wish I had this huge money without allergies.” She thought looking around the house again.

She kept reading when she heard someone walk behind her. She quickly looked back and she saw it was Landon. This time, he looks calm and better than earlier.

“Why are you sitting down here?” He asked with his hands in his side pockets.

“Because I have nowhere to sit. How are you feeling?” She asked still sitting.

“That is none of your business, get up and go up to your room,” Landon said and Kimberly’s eyes wΒ‘dened.

“I have a room! I have a room in this mansion?” She asked aloud in astonishment before she could caution herself.

“Ruby didn’t show you.” He mumbled rubbing his forehead carefully.

“She didn’t,” Kim replied standing up.

“Follow me. And, don’t you even sit down on my couch again. It’s more expensive than you think.” Landon declared and Kimberly felt hurt.

“So I can spoil or make it cheap by just sitting on it.” She asked.

“I don’t care how you feel about it. You listen and obey me.” Landon said leading the way. He loved the way he controlled and spoke to her. In no time, she would understand how to talk to him.

Kimberly followed behind him making funny faces at his back. Landon turned his head slightly and Kimberly quickly cautioned herself.

Soon Landon stopped and pointed at a door in front of him.

“That is your room.” He said and Kimberly quickly walked forward. She turned the doorknob but the door didn’t open.

“Why isn’t it opening?” Kimberly asked trying to open it. Landon stood there and glared at her. He enjoyed the way she wasted her time instead of asking for help from him.

“Will you just stand there? Or you will help me with this.” Kim said in frustration and Landon kept mute looking at her.

Kimberly immediately understood why he was acting weird so she decided to act calm, cos if she doesn’t she would be the one to sleep on the floor.

“It’s not coming. Can you help me out?” She asked promising herself never to use, please.

Landon walked towards her and then picked out the key to the door in his pockets.

“So it was locked. And you couldn’t even tell me.” Kim said angrily but Landon ignored her.

He opened the door and walked in dipping his hands in his pockets again. That was Landon’s charm, he looked super hot doing it.

“Wow,” Kimberly yelled in,side her head. The room looked very beautiful and extravagant.

She walked around the room trying not to be so surprised in front of Landon. She didn’t want to give him another cause to be full of himself.

“I would need to go pack my at home.” She said looking at Landon.
“Pack what stuffs?” He asked coldly.

“Ladies stuff.” She said nothing knowing how to say it to him.

“What ladies?” He asked.
“You don’t have to worry about that. I need to get somethings at home.” She insisted and he sighed.

“You won’t be needing that here. All you need are right there in the closet.” He said pointing to the closet.

Kimberly walked up to the closet, opened it as saw casual dressings and more uniforms in it. She sighed rubbing her head in frustration.

“How do I tell him I need to pick up my…?” She thought looking at him.

“I guess I can leave now,” Landon said turning his back to leave.

“No! Wait! I need to pick up my shoes.” She said in a loud tone making Landon stop.

“You won’t be needing shoes because you won’t be going out,” Landon said and Kim bit her lower lip pretty hΓ¦rd searching for the right words.

Landon turned to leave when Kimberly spoke up again.

“I need my underwear! I can’t stay In the same underwear for weeks.” She muttered very fast and Landon smiled. He knew what she meant but wanted her to say it.

“You can wash them and wear them again.” He teased with his back still turned against her.

“What? Would you even advise your girlfriend or wife to do so?” Kim asked irritated by what he said.

“You are nothing compared to my girlfriend so don’t compare yourself with her. You are just a maid, and I am your boss.” He said turning to look at her In the face and Kim felt so angry.

She wanted to give him his dose when she remembered her sick dying father.

“Father, why are you sick? I would have kicked him in his balls if not for you.” She cursed under her breath with a frown on her face.

Landon turned to leave with no expression on his face.

Kim sighed crashing into the mattress.

“Why is my life so messed up?” She questioned herself with tears heating her eyes.

Suddenly her phone began to ring in the apron pocket interrupting the emotional moment.

She reached for her phone and saw her mother calling.

“Oh no. This is not a good time.” She thought fearfully before picking up.

“Mother. I…” She said but stopped abruptly when she heard a familiar voice she didn’t want to hear at all.

“Hey,” Alexander said with a smile on his face.

“Where is she? I need to talk to her.” She told feeling a little pissed.
“Calm down Kimberly. She asked me to talk to you.” Alex responded staring at her mother.

“And did you have to use her phone?” She asked knowing her mother was trying to play games with her.

“Will you at least listen to what he has to say?” She heard her mother say underneath and she kept her cool.

“I don’t know why you hate me so much, Kimberly. You should know intentions are true. I love you.” He said and I shut my eyes trying so hΓ¦rd not to yell back at him.

“Alex we talked about this okay? i don’t love you.” I muttered.

“You don’t love him yet you wait for him to take care of your responsibilities. If not for him your father would have died! And the only way you can repay him is telling him you hate him?” Kim’s mother said in anger taking the phone from Alex, who was feeling so hurt by her words.

“Mother please stop. I already found a job and I was going to help pay father’s bills.” Kim said calmly.

“So his kidney would wait for you? You owe Alexander Kim, let that stick in that dull skull of yours.” Her mother yelled hanging up.
Kim’s phone fell from her hand as she busted into tears.

Landon who was passing by heard Kim’s conversation and it got his attention. After she stopped talking he could hear her sob.

He reached for the doorknob and opened the door. Immediately Kim heard him walk in, she wiped off her tears quickly pretending to be fine.

“Have you changed your mind? Can I go home now?” She asked ignoring his face.

“I need you in my bedroom now.” He said walking out and Kim’s eyes wΒ‘dened.

“In your bedroom?” She repeated in shock.
