[ LOLA ]

Seeing is truly believing! And if I hadn’t met the elites I could have sworn that what happened in Lagos was a dream or I would have probably gone mad. I had no idea what happened to me that night, all I could remember was that I was attacked my some horrible beings and the next thing I knew was everything went dark. However, I wasn’t the only one that went through this experience, the entire people of Lagos were caught up in this and they sure didn’t keep quiet about this. Just when I thought that this was messy enough, an unexpected feed popped up out of nowhere showing some people that claimed that they were responsible for what happened in Lagos and as it turns out, these people were the ones that the Elites were looking for. The miserable b-stards didn’t waste time to declare their intentions and from the looks of it, they wanted war. They had declared war on the Government and that didn’t seat well with them.
Truth be told, I have no problem with these people going to war with the government cause it would be nice to stamp out this corrupt b-stards once and for all but if their war is going to involve innocent people then they need to be stopped. For a moment, I thought I was going to help the elites to stop these mad freaks but I got sidetracked by my own personal issues.
24hrs after the incident, here I was in my apartment trying contact Sonny when I got an unexpected visit from my former boss and some group of men who I later found out were SSS. It didn’t take me long to find out why they were here but still I’ll be damned if I’m going to help or tell them anything. After I welcomed them in, I immediately went ahead to ask them why they were here and they didn’t hesitate to tell me.

Lola ➡ So gentlemen, what brings you to my home?

Adewale ➡ Detective, did you…

Lola ➡ STOP RIGHT THERE, Mr. Adewale. I’m no longer a detective. Not anymore.

Adewale ➡ Alright Lola, do you remember the conversation we had shortly after Ken’s death?

Lola ➡ I do. What about it?

Adewale ➡ Well, this men are from the SSS and after what happened last night, I thought about what you told me and reported it to them.

Kamal ➡ I’ll take it from here, Mr. Adewale. Hello Lola, I’m Kamal from the state security service and your former boss here has briefed us about what you discussed with him last. This isn’t the first time I’ve heard something like this but I never believed any of it until yesterday.

Lola ➡ So you’re here because you think I might know something about last night?

Kamal ➡ Perhaps.

Lola ➡ Well, you wasted your time. I don’t know anything and in case you haven’t noticed, I’ve moved on. I’m living a normal life now, I dropped all my detectiveness the day I quit my job. I tried to tell this fool here about what I saw but he didn’t believe me, my partner got killed and I was left alone to deal with it. Nobody in the force did anything.

Kamal ➡ Lola, tell us what you saw. I believe there is a powerful entity out there that public doesn’t know about.

Lola ➡ Sorry Mr. Kamal but I can’t. I wouldn’t bring up that painful subject but I’d like to give you an advice and if you value your life, you’ll take it. Drop this case cause you’ll be the one biting the dust in the end. I don’t know lead to that incident but believe, This is something that no average person can fight. All this incidents that have been happening are something that is beyond human understanding. It took me a long while to realize that I can’t fight something that is way out of my league. So if you don’t mind, I’d like you all to leave.

Kamal ➡ I’m afraid we can’t. Not until you tell us what we need to know.

Before things could get a little bit intense between my guests and I, someone appeared putting a full stop to the matter. Like a gentle breeze, Chioma appeared into my house unexpectedly wearing outrageously expensive clothes, she looked fabulous and attractive that my guests couldn’t resist looking at her. To be honest, I wasn’t expecting her presence and I couldn’t help to wonder how she knew my house in the first place. Like a morally loose woman, Chioma went out and touched the men s-ductively before approaching and sitting next to me.

Chioma ➡ My God Lola, are these men your lovers? Why didn’t you tell me you were having an orgy?

Lola ➡ What? No.. That’s not what is going on.

Chioma ➡ Oh please hush jare. I know how crazy your lust is. Hello gentlemen, my name’s Chioma. Pleased to meet you all.

SSS men ➡ Nice to meet you as well.

Kamal ➡ Chioma is it? Please if you’d excuse us, your friend is discussing something very important with us, I’d like you to give us some time.

Chioma ➡ That won’t be necessary cause you’ll be the ones leaving.

Kamal ➡ I beg your pardon?

Chioma ➡ You heard me but before that I’d like you all to give me your ATM cards and your passwords. .

It was pretty obvious the kind of reaction Chioma would get after saying that but then what came after that shocked me to the core. Just as Chioma commanded, the SSS guys and Adewale brought out their ATM cards and told her their passwords without any slight hesitation. It was then that I remembered Chioma’s ability which was hypnosis and casting illusions into her victim’s mind. After that display, Adewale and the SSS guys yelled out in fear and took off like rabbits heading our of my house. I couldn’t believe what had happened even though I saw everything with my eyes.

Lola ➡ Okay…. What just happened?

Chioma ➡ Don’t worry about them. They’re no longer your concern.

Lola ➡ What did you do to them?

Chioma ➡ Let’s just say I showed them something about you that really spooked them. As I’m telling you now, they will never bother you again.

Lola ➡ You stole their ATM cards. I’m sure they’ll return for it.

Chioma ➡ After what I just projected into their minds, they will never ever come here again. Come on, let’s get going.

Lola ➡ How did you know my house?

Chioma ➡ The watch that Ace gave us all. He imbued it with our AI’s matrix. To put it shortly, you’re being watched.

Lola ➡ WHAT? that’s invasion of privacy.

Chioma ➡ You’re being watched by Mercury. Our artificial intelligence defense system. It’s duty is to report any one trying to betray or expose our identity.

Lola ➡ But I wasn’t doing any of that.

Chioma ➡ Yes but those SSS guys knew you had some information and so Mercury alerted Ace and warned him. Since I was the closest one nearby, I was sent to come to your aid.

Lola ➡ What happens if I betray you guys?
.

Chioma ➡ The watch will tighten hærd around your wrist and explode with you. Of course that will happen before you say anything else.

Lola ➡ WHAT?
.

Chioma ➡ Don’t be angry. That’s how Ace programmed it.

Lola ➡ I’ve been wearing a bomb all this time? You guys are crazy.

Chioma ➡ Mercury, explain it to her.

In that moment, the watch on my wrist blinked with blue light and then began to projected a hologram of woman’s face and then began to talk . I was astonished by the technological advancement to the extent that I was left speechless..

Mercury ➡ Hello ex-detective Lola, I’m Mercury. I understand you feel devastated by this course of action but it’s necessary. Protecting the elite’s existence and identity is my highest priority.

Lola ➡ Killing people is just too much.
.

Mercury ➡ I never said anything about killing people. This operation only applies to those in the NOVA organization.

Lola ➡ And what about those who aren’t part of the organization? What will you do once they find out?

Mercury ➡ If they don’t have evidence to prove what they saw, it’s useless but if they do. It’s up to the Elites to handle it.

Lola ➡ Does everyone know about this?

Mercury ➡ Except for the founders of the NOVA agency and you. Others don’t know about this.

Lola ➡ This is ridiculous. There has to be a way to deal with this.

Chioma ➡ Well, if you have any ideas leave it until we get to the agency. Pack your things and let’s go.

Lola ➡ Go where?

Chioma ➡ Stop asking questions and let’s go but first let’s stop at some POS center, I need to withdraw the cash from SSS fools.

Lola ➡ That’s theft.

Chioma ➡ Whatever, those fools steal public funds anyway. Compared to mine, theirs is worse. Oya let’s go, we have business to take care of.

[OMNIS-POV]

Walking steadily along Felicia in one of the rural areas outside Maiduguri, Ade takes his time to observe the quiet environment. Seeing that Felicia had said nothing ever since they teleported to this region decided to ask her where they were going.

Ade ➡ If I may ask… Just where are we going ?

Felicia ➡ If you want to know just keeping following me.
.

Ade ➡ You realize that Maiduguri is not a safe place especially when it’s roaming with terrorists.

Felicia ➡ See this guy o. You have no right to say that especially since you have an unparalleled defense mechanism.
.

Ade ➡ I was actually getting worried about you. You may be able to teleport real quick but I doubt if you can avoid a bullet in time.

Felicia ➡ Want to place a bet on that?

Ade ➡ I’m not going to place a bet on your life.
.

Felicia ➡ Awwwn… So sweet.
.

Ade ➡ Enough! You said you knew someone to help us out. Is this the place he lives?

Felicia ➡ No but he’s here. After all, this is the only place he can get some action.

Ade ➡ Action?……. WAIT!

Felicia ➡ What is it?

Ade ➡ There’s a spirit in front of us. Stay here and let me talk to it.

Felicia ➡ Seriously?.
.

Ade ➡ If you don’t want to die, then stay put.

Moving away from Felicia, Ade steps forward and stops a few meters away staring at the tree tops. Hovering over the trees is a big mean looking spirit with 10 eyes and a mouth big enough to swallow an elephant. Words weren’t enough to describe the ugliness and horrifying look of the spirit. It was absolutely abominable to the extent that Ade himself was sweating with fear. Seeing that Ade had notice it’s presence, the spirit hovers down towards Ade and glares at him.

Forest spirit ➡ OH… SO YOU CAN SEE ME!?

Ade ➡ Yes I can.
.

Forest spirit ➡ Interesting! I was hoping that I had found some victims to feed on. That lovely woman behind you smells nice. I bet her flesh would be tasty.
.

Ade ➡ I can’t allow that. She’s my woman.
.

Forest spirit ➡ As if I care. Give me that woman or I’ll feed on you both.
.

Ade. ➡ I’m afraid that’s not an option..
.

Flared by Ade’s words, the spirit shouts angrily opening at it’s 10 eyes and then it’s mouth trying to gobble up Ade but his plans fails as the young man dives deep into the earth. Thinking that Ade had escaped, the Spirit charges towards the Felicia who was unaware by what was going on but before it could get to Felicia’s place, Ade emerges from the ground and slams it hærd with a powerful punch that made it slam through trees.

Felicia ➡ Ade.. Why are the tree falling?
.

Ade ➡ Get away from here. There’s a cannibalizing spirit that want to feed on you.
.

Felicia ➡ You’re fighting a spirit?
.

Ade ➡ INCOMING!
.

Launching itself like a bullet, the spirit charges towards Ade and Felicia going for the kill but before that could happen something unexpected occurs.
Out of nowhere, a red wh¡p appears and coils the spirit tightening it hærd like a snake. In that moment, the spirit s¢ræms painfully rolling on the ground as the wh¡ps burns its body. Shortly after the spirit had been brought down, a fair fulani woman covered with paintings appears holding the end of the wh¡p that had tied the spirit. Before Ade could thank the lady, a bulky fulani man appears and shouts gleefully before burning down the spirit with fire that emerged out of his hands.
Once the spirit had been taken care of, the fulani man approaches both Ade and Felicia standing a few meters away from them. As both parties stare at each other, the fulani man then smiles and waves at Felicia.

Faruk ➡ Shegiya Felicia, long time no see.
.

Felicia ➡ Long time no see Faruk. It’s been a while.
.

Faruk ➡ Indeed. I’m sure you didn’t just come here just for a visit.
.

Felicia ➡ Not really.
.

Faruk ➡ Hmm,.. Who’s this gentleman? He smells rich.
.

Felicia ➡ He is rich. Faruk, this is Ade.
.

Faruk ➡ The phantom freak? I see you weren’t exaggerating. Pleasure to meet you, Ade.

Ade ➡ Me too.

Felicia ➡ Ade, this is Faruk…a.k.a…Diablo. The elite that can manipulate flames at will.

Faruk ➡ That is my wife, Safiya.

Faruk ➡ Yes, just months ago.

Ade ➡ So your wife is an elite too.

Faruk ➡ Yes, she sees spirits too but unlike you, she can only kill them. Curse magic is her ability, it allows her to creature weapons capable of killing supernatural beings.

Ade ➡ I see.

Faruk. ➡ Why don’t you follow us back to our house? It’s not far from here.

Felicia ➡ Sure, lead the way.
