Whisper episode 20

🤫 WHISPERS 🤫

Written by Kemmy B. Gabriel

🖤 Chapter Twenty 🖤

The flight to Hawaii was the longest and most disturbing of my life, especially after I felt Arc’s mind shut down, he was already gone. I knew I had to concentrate on the work at hand, I needed to think but I was still confuse. Eventually, the volcano I was going to was surprisingly Kilauea; one of the world’s most active volcanoes, located on the Big Island. I had been to Hawaii before, but going to a volcano was certainly never on my list.

I disguised myself to avoid recognition, then stayed at the private penthouse I never knew my husband had. Caleb suggested we leave at night, midnight that it. So there I was sitting in my room meditating while Kisa and Caleb threw insults at each other in the living room. I was tired of them arguing, Arc could have just sent someone else but nooo, he had to put the cat and rat in the same mission.

I exhaled as I continued to meditate, to expel the darkness. The hammering in my brain wasn’t going to stop me, the heat and itches on my body wasn’t going to either. I just needed answers, I needed to hear something that would help me. The voices whispered to me, too many to single one out. It was getting h-rder to control them, h-rder to even keep myself in check. I focused hærd by thinking about Arc and what would happen if I don’t do something, it gave me strength to push on.

Esme will kill more… Pack in…

Protect your babies…

…bite, pup bite…

“Please, speak clearer,” I whispered, “please.”

Judith have weaken her, but you must destroy Esme because she will reincarnate.

Another attack will be launched and people will die, you can’t stop it.

“Can’t I try?”

In wars my dear, there must be those who die for others to live.

“I know but…”

Focus more on the phoenix and getting the seals refilled.

I exhaled, “any idea how to convince the phoenix?”

Follow your mate’s instructions, he has given you the answers, use his ego against him.

“What if he burns me?”

He cannot harm you as long as the seals are with you, he can never. Don’t show fear, but don’t show weakness either.

“Anything else I need to know?”

Yes, to expel the darkness and get the spell, you must pour every single wave of loss.

“Loss? What do you mean by loss?” They went silent. The ringing in my ears stopped, bringing me back to the reality of Kisa and Caleb scre-ming down the penthouse. “Great.” I stood up from my circle of white ash and blue candles, stepped out of it and wore my slippers. I snapped my fingers, blowing the candles off and the ash away.

I walked out of my room grumbling to myself, their argument became clearer as I got closer and I must say I was shocked to hear the revelation.

“How long will you keep avoiding it! Caleb stop pushing me away!”

“I don’t need you Kisa, s-ck it up!”

“You have to need me, I am your mate!”

“Second chance, not first! The only woman I want is Danielle and her alone! I don’t need some f-ck desperate wh-re as my mate!”

Wow!

“You can say anything you want, I don’t care, your words have never hurt me before. How could you still love the woman who rejected you within ten seconds of finding you, without giving you a chance?! She f-cking chose another man over you! A human! Why not accept me?! I have been here for you, hoping that you would see pass your infuriation for her and notice the woman loving you, the one that have been hanging on for almost a bloody century?! Caleb I deserve better!”

“Then f-cking accept the rejection and stop pestering me! I don’t need to d*ck and mark a wannabe bitch! Danielle is coming back for me, I know it!”

“You are cruel! She has three children already and is still very much in love with her husband, why can’t you let go?!”

Wow, wow, wow. I felt bad for Kisa, all this time we had been together, I never noticed it. They were both so good at hiding it. Kisa had openly talked to me about how she had always wanted a mate, someone that would love and care for her, one who could take her attitude. She told me she found her mate but she was a second chance to him as he was her first, he didn’t want her so he rejected her flatly. I had hugged her but never thought for once that Caleb was the bastard hurting her so much, and for what!

“I already rejected you, accept it and wait for your own bloody second chance, if you are fortunate enough to get one.” He scowled. I heard the door slam shut, he was gone.

“Kisa,” I hurried into the living room to see her on the floor, holding her chest as she wailed convulsively, “Kisa, I am so sorry,” I sobbed, throwing my arms around her. She instinctively curled herself around me and cried on my shoulder.

“Why? What have I done to deserve it? Aren’t I beautiful enough? I know I’m crazy but that doesn’t mean he should hate me so much, hate me as his mate…”

“Why hang on to him? He already rejected you, why don’t you move on?”

“If I do, who would love me then? Who then will…” She choked on her tears.

“Kisa can’t you see?! You have been wasting almost a hundred years with a man that doesn’t even find you the slightest bit attractive as a mate! You say who would love you? Has he even loved you since then?”

“He can change…”

“That is exactly what he is telling himself, Danielle will change her mind and come back to him, not realising he is losing a blessing. You are wasting your time with him, can’t you see you are just like him? Longing and hoping, ignoring the obvious truth…”

“But…”

“No buts, didn’t you just hear the shitty thing he said?! Kisa for a hundred years, really?! I thought you were stronger than that!”

“Love is foolish,” she sobbed, “I did this today to get his answer for a last time, hoping you would hear. Judith told me to move on…”

“Judith knew!” I exclaimed.

“Somehow, yes. She told me that one day I will find a all powerful being that would love me like crazy, one that would do anything to make me happy but in order to recognise him when we meet, I must let Caleb go. I just…I just thought…”

“It’s okay,” I smiled, “if Judith says so, then it will come true, just you wait. Is that why she loves making him miserable?”

“Go figure.” She laughed. I laughed along with her. We remained like that for a while before we cleaned up and decided to leave without the assh-le.

Kisa shifted into her fox, her mature stallion sized fox. I’ve always loved her fox, it flamy red fur and the beautiful touch of white. She was the most beautiful fox in the pack, as a fox and human. Caleb was a fool for neglecting her.

I sat on her back, her fur against my skin had always felt so hot and made me alive. There was something about Kisa I didn’t know, something she herself didn’t know but yet I couldn’t figure it out. She ran like the wind, sprinting on her paws like a gazelle; elegantly and majestically. Her fox puffed as they ran, the closer we got, the happier her fox became. Kisa’s fox whom I called Gazelle because of how she ran flew across the lava mountain like the heat was nothing to her. Her fox had a high heat tolerance, one of the reason Arc chose her.

Gazelle finally reached the top of the volcano, the heat didn’t seem to bother me as well as her. “So, I’m suppose to use the fire seal to open the gate and then dive into the volcano with hope that it works. If it doesn’t, hope you like a roasted Luna.” I teased. She nudged me with her head, acknowledging my joke.

“Well, here goes nothing,” I said nervously, bringing out the fire seal. I held it, unsure of what to do. Gazelle sudden snatched the seal into her mouth and then turned her back for me to climb on. “Kisa, what are you…” She growled, “you’ll get hurt!”

Trust me… She said through our mind-link… I don’t know what I’m doing but my fox seems to be convince that what we are doing is right, I don’t know why but I trust her.

In that case… I hopped onto her back and held the scruff of her neck… Here goes everything.

With a mighty bark, Gazelle leapt into the active volcano. I repeatedly told myself not to fear as we got closer to our doom, repeatedly soothed my raging heart. Just as we were close to the lava, something incredible happened! Gazelle’s flamy red and white fur burst up in flames, not hurting me at all. The lava opened a gaping h0le for her and we fell into the h0le before it closed up. She landed on her feet outside a huge flaming castle, the castle was on top of a fire mountain.

“Whoa!” I exclaimed. Kisa shifted back immediately, whimpering weakly. “What was that?!”

“I have no idea, but I think I will stay here for a while,” she gro-ned, “here,” she threw the seal back to me. I caught it still in shock, “maybe this was what I was meant to help you with…” With her words hanging, she passed out on the ground.

“Oh Kisa,” I said gratefully. I pulled off my cape, wh¡pped it into a dress and wore it on her bare skin. Once that was done, it was time to meet the phoenix.

The castle was made out of some kind of lava rock that looked like chocolate ruby, lava floating in-between cracks and cut out lines. The door was literally made of ruby and fire, the ground itself was of fire crystal. It was freaking hot, I already felt dizzy. I pulled the double doors open with my telekinesis, then walked in, clutching the seal in my hand. Lava rock monster stood as guard at every junction, but none stopped me from walking in, almost like they were expecting me.

I led myself to the throne room, I had never seen so much red coloured precious stones used to build a house. The throne was the only gold in sight, only that it was on fire and a lava pool surrounded it. In a sort of way, it was incredibly beautiful.

“I didn’t know your kind still exist, I’m surprise Victoria managed to get an heir,” I gasped and turned around, expecting to see a giant bird but what I saw wasn’t what I expected at all. “Hello Lady…?”

Awestruck; I was dazed from his beauty and the fact that he had a human appearance, almost human appearance. The dude’s hair was the brightest and sharpest red I had ever seen; lava red turning to flame right before it ended at his back bone. His eyes were orange; lava orange. Little lines of fire trailed from the left side of his face to his eyes and then above his strong cheek. It was so beautiful, added to his fierceness and good-looks. His skin was peach, like fire and peach at the same time and he had large lava red and orange wings spreading behind his back like a dark fae’s. The tip of each feathers were gold, obviously sharp and on fire.

The man wasn’t wearing a shirt, just black jeans that accentuated his colour and tightened around his thick legs. He had a large orange gem in his chest, the middle of his chest with crack of lava leading down to his arbs. The man was beautiful and ogle worthy, from his hair to his face, his neck to his muscles and his legs. He wasn’t my type though.

“Hello?”

“Oh, sorry, I wasn’t expecting you to be…you know, humanlike,” I shrugged. He narrowed his eyes at me. I cleared my throat and straightened my back. Arc’s instructions rang in my head.

“Don’t, I repeat, don’t look at the phoenix in the eyes or it fire would consume you, you must remember that. When you get there, don’t let him see the seal until you convince him because he will take it back and kill you, he has never been in support of having the earth clan wield so much powers. Don’t let him know you are my wife, his sense of smell is bad so he won’t perceive me on you. Also, try showering him with praises and slyly ask him where to find the other personification, okay?”

“My name is Idalia, Victoria’s daughter,” I curtsied, looking at his bare feet instead. He grumbled something before walking to his throne.

“What do you want here? I don’t have time to handle insufferable forces?”

“Then what are you doing with your time?” I asked sarcastically, causing a growl from him.

Don’t upset him, right.

“I mean, what then do you spend your time doing? Being alone in this castle must have it down sides,” I repeated sweetly, with a lot of respect.

“It does,” he sighed, “I have the fire creatures to rule but they don’t stay here, it gets really lonely here.” He admitted openly.

“Can I raise my head? I was told looking you in the eyes would consume me with fire,”

He chuckled, “fire of desires,” he corrected, “looks like who told you didn’t want you throwing yourself at me and getting killed at the end.” He said with calmly, but I could detect sadness in his voice.

“Killed?” I raised my head, challenging the odds

“My fire is eternal,” he slouched back on the throne, “every woman I lay with either burns before or afterwards, they all die.”

“Not even the fire ladies? Fire nymphs? Fire elves? Dragon shifters? Fellow phoenix? Fire fairies?”

“I am the eternal phoenix with the light of the sun and unquenchable flame of the great dragon, the first of all fire creatures. My fire puts out their own, drains it into my body and then kills them. Even you won’t survive with the seal in you.”

“Wow,” I breathe, looking into his sad eyes, “that is a painful way to live, really. You don’t get to have fun without killing the subject?”

“Yeah, used to gain that pleasure from condemn prisoners, but it got boring. For the longest time, I just want something more, someone permanent but there is none made for me,” he sank down deeper, “I should probably kill you for taking my seal, but now the hate has burn away, replaced with sadness and emptiness. I’m too emotionally shattered to even get angry like I used to.”

“Then I will call myself lucky,” I grinned, “because I need your help to retouch this seal, a new threat has arrived and it is way stronger than your fire…”

“Take it back!” He roared all of a sudden, causing the ground to shake. “No one is stronger than my fire! I am the eternal flame, I burn the fiercest and brightest even in the darkest of night, in the coldest of water. Who is this being that proves stubborn?!”

“Her name is Esme, one of Cressida’s minion that is overwhelmed with darkness.”

He gritted his teeth, I knew I had to play him. “And Arc? Have you gone to him?”

“He directed me to you. I used the seals on him but she almost killed him because it wasn’t strong enough, the fire seal was dragging them back as he said…” He growled again, causing another quake, “and she laughed, saying all the gods are weaklings and no fire can burn hotter than her dark fire…”

“She will pay for that! How dare she insult the flames of the great phoenix! Bring me the seal!” I smirked inwardly and threw it to him. The man caught the seal and clamped his two palms against it. He started muttering something, his wings and hair slowly turning to flames.

The stone in his chest glowed brighter, lacing energy around his fingers and passing to the seal. With a final word, he blew fire from his mouth into his hands and merged it with the seal. Fire man smiled evilly. “Let’s see you brag now witch, my flame will show you… Catch!” He threw it back at me. I placed a spell around my hands before I caught it. Even with the spell, it still scorched me.

“Hot, hot, hot,” I cried, joggling it from one hand to the other.

“Seal, be still.” He commanded. And like magic, the seal turned to cool stone.

“You are incredible!” I exclaimed sincerely, but then came the adding. “No fire can ever surpass yours, you remain forever as surely as the sun burns above the earth. All fire creatures shall bow in respect knowing that the true lord of fire is alive, they pay homage to their forever king. I don’t know what Esme was talking about, none can overtake you, your heat can challenge the sun itself…” I continued showering praises on him while he smiled, nodding his head as the words sink into his conceited skull.

I had never praised someone that much in my life, he sat proudly on his throne, drinking in my praises to stupor. By the time I was done, he was grinning widely.

“You are a more useful keeper Idalia, my name is Phoenix. In the future, anytime you need something, don’t forget to come ask.”

“And I will surely remember to visit and pay respect to you, my future kids would kill to hear of your incredible tales.”

“I will be more than happy to tell them.” I rolled my eyes mentally, foolish sad man.

He sighed sadly again, his earlier smile gone. “I guess you better leave now, stay too long here and you will surely die. It was nice having someone visit for a change.”

“I agree,” I smiled, “but I was hoping you would tell me where to find any other of the personifications, I need to retouch their seals too so their weak powers won’t pull yours back.”

“I have overstrained my kindness, I do not wish to speak again, leave.”

“But…”

“Don’t make me snap.” He deadpanned. I sighed in defeat and ran my hand through my hair.

“Very well then,” I bowed and teleported back to the gate. Kisa sat on the ground, gnawing at her nails. She flinched a little when I appeared.

“So…?”

“I got the fire, but not the address of the next location,” I said angrily. “I don’t know what to do now!”

“I do,” she growled, “no prick insults my Luna like that, even if he is all powerful!”

“Kisa, no…” She jumped to her feet and dashed into the castle, “Kisa!!!” I didn’t really have my speed again since Arc had shut down his system. I tried to teleport but couldn’t, the heat was getting to me. Not knowing what else to do, I ran after her, hoping I could save that.

I heard her scre-m when I hadn’t even dreamt of getting there. My heart was beating very fast as I tried to reach there. One of the stone man blocked my way.

“No more passage, go home.”

“My friend is in there!”

“Friend takes punishment for misbehaving, now go before you take punishment too.”

I paced around, not knowing what to do. When I heard her fox howl, it made me lose every single compulsion I had. I wh¡pped the giant rock out of my way and ran past, created a barrier to stop them from following me. I burst into the throne room just when he slammed her fox down to ground, pressing his knees on her to keep her down.

“Shift!” He commanded.

“Phoenix, you are hurting my friend, stop it!”

“Mine!” He roared at me, making me freeze.

Did he just say mine?

“Shift woman!” Gazelle whimpered before she slowly shifted back. I watched in befuddlement and bewilderment. Kisa slowly shifted back to herself, butt unclad. His eyes lit with fire of lust, his mouth was literally watering as he took in her unclad form.

What the hell!

“Mine,” he growled and started unbuckling his jeans, not even caring that I was standing there or that Kisa was crying on the floor.

“Phoenix, you’ll kill her! Remember she doesn’t even have any fire, please don’t hurt my best friend, she is all I have left.” I pleaded, at the verge of tears.

“What are you talking about? I don’t know how I ended up with a mate but it seems like the universe finally answered my prayers by giving me someone to end this loneliness, the only woman that can bear my fire and not die, a mate.”

“Phoenix, she is just a werefox…”

“Fire fox,” he corrected, “fire fox with the white flame of Kehutia, the strongest and first female light phoenix. She also has a dragon fire to her red, she is made for me!”

I gulped, that explains a lot. Oh why didn’t Judith say anything.

“Okay, let’s do it like this,” I said soothingly, “she is terrified of you, do you want that?” He looked down at her for the first time and realised what he had done. He panicked.

“I’m so sorry, so sorry,” he said frantically, “I didn’t mean to, please don’t hate me…”

“Ida, please give me something to wear,” Kisa cried, “and get me away from him!”

“No! Mine!” He yelled again, he pinned her to the floor and was ready to take her.

“Get off me! Can someone explain what is going on here!”

“Phoenix calm down!” I shouted. He growled at me. I inhaled and exhaled. “At least explain to her first, let the wh0le thing sink into her brain then she can decide on what to do, okay?”

“Okay,” he stood up, “but she remains unclad,”

Luna… Kisa sobbed through the mind-link… He is my second chance mate, what do I do with him?

Wow, Judith was right, you did get someone powerful. You have always been one to love fire.

Which was true, Kisa had always had this strange love for heat and flames, the desire to be like one. Now she was one. As Phoenix explained his part, we were talking.

So I have fire powers? That is intense and awesome!

Kisa, I know this is too much to ask but he won’t let you leave here, you are stuck here with him. I need you to get me the information I need, at least that won’t be wasted.

I don’t really have a choice, do I?

Except you want him to fire up and f-ck you forcefully, just give in.

It was a lot to ask for, but we didn’t exactly had any choice here. Kisa listened to his remaining lonely part and promise to treat her well if she agrees to be with him in his home.

“I will, but on one condition,” she glanced at me, “tell my Luna what she needs to know and you can have me later…”

“No, I want you right here, right now or my phoenix would explode out. I can’t control myself any longer, I get you first and then I promise to tell her.” Kisa looked at me before she nodded.

“Can we at least go to your bedroom? This floor isn’t comfortable,” he nodded hastily, grabbed and yanked her over his shoulder.

“You come with us,”

“Me!” I spluttered, “why do I have to be there?!”

“As witness to our agreement, you will stand outside the door and listen as I make her mine,” he smiled sickly, psycho.

“You are sick, how am I sure my friend is safe with you?”

“Because she isn’t safe with anyone else,” was his stupid reply before he carried my unclad friend off. I dragged myself along, telepathically apologising to her for the invasion of privacy. Tho she didn’t care, I felt horrible having to stand there. “I hope this is not a stupid joke to get me to kill another woman,” I heard him mutter.

The way to his bedroom was amazing, I would have loved it if I wasn’t worried. Once we reached, he walked in and slammed the door on my face. I leaned on the wall and folded my arms.

“Be gentle!” I shouted.

“Will you slow down! You are acting like a bloody s€× starved vampire!” Kisa yelled. I sighed.

“I am more like a s€× starved phoenix! I haven’t gotten laid in a thousand years!”

Wow!

“Okay, okay, let me take care of you nice and slow…”

“I don’t need nice and slow, maybe later but for now I need hærd and fast, so stop halting me.” He snapped.

“Phoenix, the heat is killing me!” I shouted, I was getting dizzy.

“Create a winter barrier around yourself with the water and wind seals!” He shouted. I sighed and removed the seals, faced them together and said the spell.

“Water and air, the coolest two, water and air, the strongest two. Combine and whirl, make me a barrier of snow.” The seals floated up above me and did as instructed, shining brightly. Their muffled k-sses filled my ears, it made me miss Arc so much.

I remembered the first time we mated, it was heavenly. Well, I dipped my fingers into my ears.

“Silence, silence, shush, shush, shush, shut my ears, hush, hush, hush.” My ears blocked out every sound. I stayed there for over am hour before I slept off on the cold floor, snow showering down on me. When I woke up two hours later, I checked and they were still at it.

This isn’t what I expected coming here… I thought… Wait still Caleb finds out, I want to see his face.

It was obvious they weren’t going to be done soon, so I used the seal to shut sounds from coming in or out and covered myself with magical curtains. I remembered how Arc would s-ckle on my mark, fondling with my bosom and ass cheek. I played with my body as I remembered his touch, his k-sses, his love. It brought tears to my eyes remembering how we parted, it made me sob knowing that I might not have the chance to talk to him ever again. With the final image of him ejaculating his jizz into me, I squirted on myself.

It felt so real, for a minute there I really felt Arc with me. I cleaned myself up and brought down the barrier, just as the door open. Phoenix stepped out but his hand still held the door.

“Is she alright?”

He grinned widely, “told you she was mine, see?” He opened the door w¡der, Kisa was sleeping so peacefully on the bed, bedsheet carelessly thrown on her body. “I finally have someone, thank you for bringing her.”

“Hmm,” I nodded, “I need to leave, so?”

“Pacific Ocean, the water personification lives in the center of the Pacific Ocean…”

“What?” I breathe, my face went pallid.

“First you must find the maidens at the very top of Mount Everest, the highest peak. Lift up the seal and shout the name of the queen, Queen Aira. She will bring you up and then take you to the water herself.” He explained further. I sighed with relief.

“Take good care of my friend for me?”

“I will never do anything less.” His smile was genuine, it reflected in his eyes. I hadn’t exactly lost my friend to death, but I wouldn’t be seeing her again for a while, a happy-sad situation. At least she would get the love she deserves.

To be continued.

One down, two to go.

What awaits Idalia at the land of the wind maidens? Let’s find out.

Remember to like.
