THE LUCAS’S EMPIRE*

Camdan kept looking outside the huge window in his office. He cussed silently when he didn’t see a sign of Nicole.

“Wait, is she going to come back?” he asked no one in specific.

He sighed tiredly and brought out his phone placing a call across to her, but he stopped the moment the door opened and Nicole walked in.

“Good morning sir.” She greeted with a smile on her face as usual.

Camdan couldn’t believe his eyes, he couldn’t believe that Nicole was actually standing in front of him.

“Gosh, I must be hallucinating again.” he slapped his face lightly.

Nicole stood there staring at Camdan with a quizzical expression on her face. She bit her inner cheek to stop herself from laughing.

“Why do I miss you so suddenly?, I miss you to the extent that I hallucinate about you. I think I’ve fallen in love with you…but it’s making me go crazy. Can you get out of my head?” he asked gazing into her beautiful emerald eyes.

Nicole was taken aback, she couldn’t believe her ears. Did her boss just confessed his feelings to her?

“Sir Camdan it’s me Nicole, you called me yesterday remember?, You said I should resume work,” She explained and Camdan stood up and rushed to her.

“Nicole is it really you?”

“Yes it’s me sir Camdan, are you ok?” she asked batting her lashes.

His hands found it’s way to her face and he car-ssed her cheek slowly, feeling her flawless skin rubbing against his fingers.

“I missed you,” he uttered slowly and crashed his l-ips on hers. He started in a slow pace and gradually it turned into something fast.

Nicole felt weak in the knees and almost fell but Camdan was fast to support her with his other hand.

Nicole w¡dened her eyes in surprise, she couldn’t believe they were actually having a k-ss right now.

She felt happy, since it’s what she wanted anyway but then, she felt uneasy and broke the k-ss.

“Is there something wrong?” he asked and she bit her bottom l-ips.

“I am sorry Sir, I came for work.” she replied and he let out a sad smile. She liked him too but she didn’t want to be so cheap.

‘Did Asha feel the same way when I ended things with her?’ he thought.

“No it’s fine, I lost my mind and am sorry.”

“I will get back to work now sir.” she uttered slowly and walked out of his office.

He felt a st.ab in his heart immediately she left his office and he felt incomplete, like a part of him was taken with her.

“I need to see Josh” He uttered inaudibly and left his office.

BAKER’S DINER*

“So why do want to see me?” Josh asked with a smile. When his brother called that they needed to see, he felt so happy.

One could think that Josh was stupid for loving his brother, while all his brother has ever done was to hate him.

But the truth was that, his brother loved him and he knew that. His brother was has always been his hero since they were little.

He remembered the time he was seven when a car almost hit him, but Camdan pushed him aside and he got hurt instead which made him stay in a comatose state in two weeks.

‘If that isn’t love then what is?’ he thought.

“How are you doing?” Camdan asked instead.

“I am fine, everything is fine.”

“I haven’t seen Asha after what happened between us. I just felt ashamed of myself. Can you send my apologies to her?” Camdan politely asked and Josh got confused.

“You know Asha?, I don’t understand, what happened between you two?”

“I met Asha long ago but you know she even existed. We were at the verge of dating but I ended things between us.” Camdan explained.

Josh felt used and hurt. He couldn’t believe Asha hid everything from him.

‘Did they have s.ex?’ he thought, he really wants to know but he won’t ask his brother, that question will be for Asha to answer.

“I actually met Asha four years ago when my mom died. We had a one night stand and now I have a daughter.” Josh explained.

“You are not serious are you?” Camdan laughed.

“I am serious, you know nothing about it right?”

“Yeah, she never told me that she’s a single mum. This wh0le thing is more like a billonaire r0mance novel, where there are lots of twists.” Camdan chuckled.

“Yeah, you remember the novel we read, when we were in high school?” Josh asked and Camdan snapped his fingers, trying to remember the title of the novel.

“Yes I remember, “The billonaire in love I fell in love with.”

“Exactly, that was one hell of a novel.” Josh smiled. They stayed quiet for a while till Camdan spoke up.

“I am sorry Josh, I treated you like trash…I never meant any of it, can you forgive me?”

Josh got baffled and happy at the same time. He smiled and grabbed the glass of water that was in front of him.

Camdan said nothing as he stared at Josh drinking the water, he was getting a bit scared thinking Josh will push him out.

“I forgive you big bro, you are my role model. I just want you to stop doing one thing.” Josh said.

“What is that?”

“Stop living like dad’s puppet, man up, do what makes you happy. I know you don’t want to get married to cassey.” Josh said, while Camdan smiled lightly.

“Don’t call me ever again!” Mrs Lucas yelled over the phone and hanged up on the person.

She threw her phone on the couch and sat beside it, breathing heavily as her chest heaved high and low.

After a while the phone rang out loud and she ended the call. It rang again and this time,.with annoyance she answered the call.

📲 What do you want from me kevin?, Why are you taunting me?

📲 I told you already victoria, I want to see my son and I want to have my own share of the property. Have you forgotten about the deal we had?,

📲 That deal was 27 years ago and it’s no longer valid, so leave me alone!

📲 You should better give me what I want or else…

📲 Or else what?, What would you do?, There’s nothing you can do Kevin. You are just a poor and lonely man, who’s frustrated.

📲 What would you do if Josh finds out that you killed his mother?

📲 Don’t you try anything funny kevin… don’t you dare!, You are not going to tell Josh a thing.

📲 I know you are doing this because you want to see Camdan.

📲 Yes, Camdan is my son and I will see what he looks like, he deserves to know the truth.

📲 Camdan might be your son but I will never accept it!, Never!

“Mom?” Camdan called and she hunged on the call.

Chapter 52( Enough is enough)

THE LUCAS’S MANSION*

“Mom?” Camdan called and she hung up on the call.

The look in his eyes was so cold, that she shivers slightly. She prayed silently hoping he didn’t hear a thing.

She smiled and took a step forward but he stopped her with a finger and she stopped right on her track.

“Csmdan are you ok?, Is there something wrong?” she asked calmly but he laughed like a maniac instead.

“Who was it, you were speaking to over the phone?” he asked.

“I was talking to your father Camdan.”

Camdan scoffed hearing that, he couldn’t believe his mom has been lying all these years. He actually came home to see his dad, concerning his marriage with Cassey but instead he heard something else.

“You think I am a fool right?, You wouldn’t be yelling at dad, if it was dad. Tell me the truth mom!” He yelled as his eyes welled up in tears.

“Camdan calm do…” he cut her off.

“How could you lie to me mom?, I heard everything, how could you lie to me?, You are my mom and you know I love you but instead, you chose to lie to me. Why?”

Mrs Lucas closed her eyes and tears rolled down her cheeks. The words of her son triggered her.

“I am sorry baby, I did it for the best.” she replied.

“Unbelievable, the best?, By lying to me all these years!” he hollered and scoffed

“You made me hate my brother for a property that isn’t even mine. I feel like a loser, all these years…I hate you mom!” He yelled as tears was seen visible his eyes.

“Am sorry baby, ple…” he cut her off

“Josh mom’s death has something to do with you right?” he asked in a total broken voice.

“Camdan can we just talk about this like a mother and child?”

“Answer me?!” he yelled and flinched. She was so surprised and scared. Camdan wasn’t like this, it was the first time he has acted this way to her.

“Yes I killed her and am not ashamed to say. I did everything for you Camdan. She was just a mistress and I wanted to get her out of the picture.” She explained.

She moved to Camdan and held his hands in hers. “I am your mother Camdan, I know what’s best for you. I did everything for you because I love you.

“You are not my mother, you are a monster.” Camdan said and yanked his hand away from her grip.

“You killed Josh’s mom?” A voiced asked in a broken voice and she turned around only to see Mr Lucas. He has been there all along but non noticed him.

Camdan just shook his head sideways and walked out of the house. Everything was just so wrong and he needed to get out of there. He couldn’t face the man whom he thought has been his father all these years.

“Camdan, Camdan!” Mrs Lucas yelled as she ran after him. She tapped on the window of the car he entered.

“Camdan listen to me, I did it all for you. I wanted you to have a good life and not live with that criminal father of yours.” she wept but It all felt like music to his ears. Without saying a word he started the car and drove out.

“Call the police.” Mr Lucas said to his private investigator.

NICOLE’S RESIDENCE*

Nicole closed the windows and adjusted the curtains in the sitting room. It was time for her to go to bed, so as to wake up early for work.

She was about to go upstairs when she heard a knock on her door which made her halt. She took a glance at the wall clock and it says 9:00pm sharp.

“Who could it be?, It’s late.” she muttered.

She walked over to the door and opened it, only to see Camdan standing in front of it.

“Sir Camdan?, What are you doing here?” She asked being so surprised.

“I am sorry for bothering you Nicole but I didn’t have no where or someone to go to.” he uttered with his head a bit bowed. The bulb outside her house shone brightly on his face.

Nicole took a close look at him and noticed his eyes and nose were red, and his hair was scattered, while his hands was trembling.

“Come on sir.” she finally said a word and he let out a light smile before going in,side. Getting in,side he closed the door behind him and found his way to a couch.

“Are you ok?, You don’t look too good.” she said and he sniffed in.

“My life is pathetic Nicole, I am a bas.tard.” he cried and Nicole patted his back.

Whatever it was that was bothering him, really got him this time. Though she’s seen him cry before but he wasn’t shedding much tears the last time.

“You are not pathetic Sir, don’t say that.” she uttered slowly and he chuckled.

“You don’t know me Nicole.”

“Of course I know you. You are the Sassy and strong-headed boss that everyone’s scared of in the company.” she explained and he chuckled.

“My life is really pathetic Nicole, I’ve been leaving a fake life all along.”

“But I don’t think it’s pathetic.” She said with a smile. One of the most beautiful smile he has ever seen, It reminds him of Asha and he smiled too. She moved her hands to his face and held it lightly.

“Why do you say so?”

“Because I love you.” she simply replied and he shook his head sideways. The thought of him not being able to bare a child triggered him badly.

“I am sorry I k-ssed you, it was an accident. You shouldn’t love me Nicole. I won’t be able to give you what you want.”

“And what is that?” she asked, even though she knew what he was referring to.

“I can’t plant a seed in,side of you Nicole. I can’t get you pregnant, so what is the need of loving me?” he asked and she frowned but later replaced it with a smile.

“Everyone deserves to be loved and besides we can adopt.”

She climbed on his th-gh as she rested her forehead on his.

“Nicole what are you doing?,” he asked but she shushed him and k-ssed him instead. He broke the k-ss and she frowned.

“I don’t think we should do this.”

“Don’t worry about it, Jace is at a sleepover with his friends, since yesterday was their prom night.” she rushed her words and k-ssed him again. This time he didn’t fight it but k-ssed her back.

After a while, his l-ips went to her neck as he placed k-sses on it, while she ran her hands through his hair.

The heat between them was something else and they couldn’t take it anymore.

Nicole’s hand went to his chest as she started to unbutton his shirt quickly. After a few minutes she was done and threw his shirt to only God knows where.

She bit her l-ips as she stared at his beautifully made body. She traced his abs with her fingers and slowly ran it to his wa-istline but he caught her hand.

“Not yet sweetheart, we are just getting started.” he whispered in her ears, at the same time giving her a light bite on her earlobe and she bit her l-ips to stop herself from mo-ning.
