Kristen turned gently to each side of the bed,she opened her eyes when she noticed the emptiness. She sat up sleepily wondering where Nicholas was.
She looked round the room and she saw the juice beside her,,she immediately took it and gulped down everything. She breathe out loudly and dropped the bottle,,
The door opened and Nicholas came in,,Kristen frowned
“What,,are you okay?” Nicholas asked moving close to her
“Where are you coming from? I thought I’m gonna find you beside me when I wake up” she said
“Oh,,I’m sorry. I had to attend to few things,,are you okay now?’ He asked
“Not in the mood to talk” she snapped and looked away
“I’m sorry okay? ” Nicholas k-ssed her cheek
Kristen suddenly gasped and faced him
“What about Jenna?? Is she back??” She asked
Nicholas scoffed
“Do you even know what the time is?? It’s 9pm already” Nicholas said
“What the hell?? I can’t believe I slept for so long,,I need to see Jenna” Kristen said getting up
“Jenna is asleep” Nicholas said and pulled her back
“Oh no,,,she’s gonna be sad” Kristen said
“She’s not,,are you hungry??” Nicholas asked
“No,,I’m fine. I want to take my bath,,,” Kristen said
“Do you want me to help you??” Nicholas asked with a smile
Kristen nodded
Nicholas helped her with her clothes and carried her into the bathroom,,he dropped her in the bathtub gently.
“Thanks” Kristen smiled
“You don’t have to thank me” Nicholas said and turned on the running water,,,
“Wash my hair first” Kristen said touching her head
“Okay,,” Nicholas replied and took the hair shampoo
“Wow,,shouldn’t you open a salon? You are good” Kristen teased him as he wash her hair
Her eyes was closed
“I’m good in everything” Nicholas grinned
“Yeah,,that’s right. Can you add more pressure to my scalp a bit? I love your touch on it” Kristen said
Nicholas chuckled
“Nick??” She called all of a sudden
“What is it? Am I too hærd on you?” Nicholas asked worriedly
“Can I ask you a question??” She asked
“Of course”
“What happened between you and Andrew??” Kristen asked
Nicholas’s hand dropped from her head
“Kim told me you two were best friends,,so what happened to the friendsh¡p??” Kristen asked again
Nicholas couldn’t reply,,Kristen was getting disturbed by his silence.
“Nick?” She called
She tried to open her eyes
“Ouch,,my eyes”she scre-med out and Nicholas came back to reality instantly
“Damn,,,I’m sorry. Are you okay??” He asked
“No!! Water,,” She said
Nicholas immediately helped her wash the shampoo off
“Does it still hurt??” He asjed
“F**king hurting badly ,why the hell did you keep quiet?” She asked angrily still rubbing her red eyes
“I’m sorry,,,” Nicholas said and k-ssed her eyes
“Gosh,,”
After taking her bath,Nicholas carried her back to the room. He gave her one of his numerous shirts to put on.
“Are you okay? Your eyes are red” Nicholas said feeling guilty
“I’m fine” Kristen said and joined him on the bed.
She laid down with her head on his chest
“You didn’t answer my question,,you don’t want to tell me??” Kristen asked rubbing his chest slowly
“It’s a long story,,I don’t think it worth talking about” Nicholas replied
“I don’t care,,I want to hear it” Kristen said
“Okay fine”
“Wait,,,I will be back” Kristen said and left the bed
“Where are you going??” Nicholas asked
“Don’t worry about me,,I want some apples” She smiled
“No,,,I will get it for you. Come back”
“No,,I can walk. Stop treating me like that,,,I will be back” She winked before going out of the room
Nicholas scoffed
“Maybe she’s planning something big this time” He said
Minutes later she came back with the apples and a bottle of water,,,she was already munching on one
“Why does this apple taste so different?? It’s amazing,,,did you add something??” Kristen asked getting back on the bed
“Yeah,,a love portion” Nicholas replied
“I don’t mind,,,it’s working already” Kristen said and got on him
She laid on him still eating the apple
“You can start your story,,I feel more comfortable on you” She said and pecked his cheek and then rest her head on his chest
“You’re something else” Nicholas smiled
“Why is your heart whispering out someone else’s name??” Kristen asked
“What’s the name??” Nicholas asked wondering what she’s up to this time
“I don’t know,but it’s not mine. Are you cheating??” She sat up
“I don’t know what you’re talking about,,how can you even listen to my heart whispering out a name? ” Nicholas chuckled
“Don’t worry,,if you dare cheat on me. I’m breaking the girl’s head” She said and laid on him again
“You can’t fight this way,,,after the baby is out. You can fight anyhow you want” Nicholas said
“That’s harsh,,you really want me to fight??”
“I won’t stop you,,,” Nicholas said ajd k-ssed her hair
“How is your eyes??”
“It’s better now,,,you can start the story” Kristen said
“I’m not telling a story,,”
“Okay,,Tell me what happened between you two”
“It was something minor though,,I tried protecting the situation but Andrew’s mother wasn’t helping matter. Our families are close friends and business partners,,,it was all caused by silly businesses,,it was between my dad and Andrew’s dad first,”
FLASHBACK:SIX YEARS AGO✍️
The guards all bowed as Phillip(Andrew’s father) entered the mansion,,his face wasn’t cool at all and they noticed it.
“Is Bill home??” He asked
“Yes sir”
He didn’t wait before he stormed into the house,,,
Mr Bill on the other hand just broke a good news to his wife and they were still in a hugging position when Phillip entered.
“Wow,,such a nice view” Phillip said clapping his hand
The two couples disengaged and faced Philip in confusion
“Philip?? What’s going on??” Mr Bill asked
“You’re still asking me what’s going on?? How could you Bill!! How could you even think of doing that?!! You have no conscience at all,,I thought we are friends” Philip rant angrily
“What are you talking about?? Do you need this?? Sit down and let’s solve it out” Mr Bill said calmly
“Solve what out?? You went behind my back and take over the contract we both talked about,,how could you!!”
Mr Bill scoffed
“You know that’s not true,,I informed you about it and you said you wasn’t interested,what elae would you have wanted me to do?? Decline it also? It’s not done that way,,I told you about it because we are good friends,but you turned down the offer,,,”
“You’re so selfish Bill”
Mrs Bill gasped
“You’re damn selfish,,you should have allowed me think about it first. You just went ahead and got everything,,,”
“You’re the selfish one here Phillip,,you know I always tell you everything but you wouldn’t even do that to me. I can’t f**king continue to play to your tune each time there’s a business” Mr Bill spoke up calmly even though he was angry that his friend could think so ill of him
“Wow,,I can see where this is going. You’ve been jealous of my success right??” Philip said
“I will never be jealous of you,,,I don’t mind if you’re richer than I. We are friends,,you should be happy for me too that I got this contract,why are you being dramatic about it?? I’m not at fault here,,”
Philip ignored him and walked out angrily
“You should have talked to him more calmly,,,He’s just angry” Mrs Bill said
“Phillip is always like that,,,I hope he comes back to his sense soon. I don’t see why he should be angry when he’s making more money than me” Mr Bill sighed
“It’s okay,,,we should celebrate this. I’m gonna call Nicholas”
FLASHBACK ENDS✍️
“Wow,,so that was how it started??” Kristen asked with her mouth full
“Yeah,,,but at the same time. Andrew and I too had a disagreement on some issues too,,,,the contract hosts preferred me to him. I really tried talking to them that Andrew and I should be called together but they wanted only me and there was nothing I could do about it”
“Wow,,was that some sort of miracle??” Kristen smiled
“Maybe”
“But,,,you just mentioned that they were richer,,then how the hell did you suddenly become damn rich??” Kristen asked curiously
“Actually,,luck started playing on my side I guess” Nicholas replied
Kristen sat up
“You said it all started six years ago right?? She asked and Nicholas nodded
“What if everything started getting more better because of Jenna?? You all fought few months after Jenna was born right?? What if she’s a blessing to you??” Kristen asked
Nicholas was speechless,,,,
“I,,,I ,,,actually never thought of that. But,,what if you’re right??” He asked and Kristen smiled
“Because you love her like she’s yours,,even when you were hurt about her not being your child,I knew that you still love her,you were just playing hærd. I know you can’t let go of her,,” Kristen said
“When you two left,It was like my wh0le world was taken away. I really can’t live without you two,,,I will do everything for you,Jenna,and the little one here” Nicholas said and touched her belly
“I love you too” Kristen said and pressed her l-ips on his.

The couples were still talking in their position about random things,,they are so much comfortable with each other. Their love is immeasurable.
“Nick,,I still don’t get it. I think such a lame thing shouldn’t cause fight between family friends,there’s really more to it ,right??” Kristen asked
“Yeah,,along the line Philip died,,and it was another story entirely” Nicholas said and Kristen froze
She sat up
“What do you mean?? Andrew’s father died?? How??” She asked
“It was an accident,,,and he didn’t survive it. It grew more hatred you know,,,” Nicholas sat up
“You see,,,,I have nothing against those family. But they are not people I want to associate with anymore,,I don’t want to have anything with them” Nicholas said
“Iris,,,,like Andrew’s brother” Kristen sighed
“Huh?? What do you mean??”
“I found out,,,that kid,,and Andrew’s brother Max,,love each other. They can’t do without each other,,,she’s actually hiding it but I know,,,,” Kristen said
Nicholas’s sighed and hold her hand
“You can’t stop them,,,they have nothing to do with this okay??” Nicholas said and Kristen nodded
“Come here,,” Nicholas said and hugged her rubbing her hair gently.
“I wish it stops,,” She muttered closing her eyes slowly.

*Next Morning**
“Nanny,,you don’t have to worry about me okay?? I will be fine,,I will go with Richærd,you can stay home with my baby brother” Jenna smiled
“Baby brother?? Where is he??” Kristen teased
“Here of course” Jenna point at her stomach and she laughed
“Okay Jenna,,be careful” Kristen waved
“I love you nanny” Jenna also waved
Richærd opened the door for her and she entered,,
“Will be back Miss Kristen” Richærd smiled before driving out of the compound.
Kristen turned and went back in,,she met Nicholas on his way downstairs.
“Oh,,you’re leaving already??” Kristen asked checking him out
“You want me to stay longer?” He asked
Kristen shook her head
“Who am I to stop you?? You look handsome” Kristen pouted sadly and hugged him
“You will be early right??” She asked
Nicholas smiled and hugged her to himself
“Yeah,,because I have something to do tonight. Get ready for me okay?? We will be having dinner somewhere else ” Nicholas said
“Really?? Where??” Kristen asked
“It’s a surprise,,so get ready. I will tell Richærd to bring you,,make sure you look hot” Nicholas whispered to her ear
They disengaged from the hug
“I will be waiting,,” Kristen smiled
Nicholas k-ssed her l-ips and hugged her again,,,
“Boss,,,the meeting starts in twenty minutes,,I’m sorry we need to go” Shane said turning his back on them
“Go,,I will be fine. I promise” Kristen said
Nicholas nodded and k-ssed her head one last time before going out with Shane.

*Silver Valley**
Iris laid her head on the table and covered her eyes with the book she was reading,,she was feeling so sad and tired at the same time.
She had to come to an empty class to clear her head,,she was still in that position when the door opened unexpectedly and she looked up.
“Iris,,why are you here?? I’ve been worried” Max said as he came in
“I’m fine,,I just want to be Alone for some minutes. Sorry” Iris said
Max sat down beside her and touched her head
“Are you okay?? Why is your face like this??” Max asked
“I’m fine Max,,okay?? ”
“No,,just tell me what is wrong with you. If I can help,,,”
“I,,,saw dad yesterday” Iris spoke up
“Really?? How??”
“That damn old man came to our house to f**king apologize,,I felt like hitting him with something,I don’t care taking the consequences” Iris said angrily
Max pulled her into a hug
“Please,,,calm down. Okay??” He Said and k-ssed her neck
“You,,,turned me to this Max. You turned me into what I am,,,,what are you?? Huh?? Why do you have so much effect in my life?? I wish I could go back to myself but it’s just impossible for me,,what have you done to me??” She broke into tears
“Iris,,,,” He touched her cheek
“I want to be alone,,,leave me alone” She snapped
“No I won’t,,,I’m going to make you feel better,,,please don’t ever think of going back to your old self” Max said
“I can’t,,,because you trapped me” Iris muttered
Max smiled and car-ss her face
“Because you love me,,you changed because you love me. And I feel exactly the same about you,,I love you Iris,,,I love you so much” Max said and without waiting k-ssed her passionately.
Iris immediately reciprocate,k-ssing him back with all the anger in her.
Natalie opened the door gently,she saw Max going into the class some minutes ago and was wondering why he wasn’t out yet.
The moment she opened the door,a gasp escape her mouth seeing Max and Iris k-ssing each other. She couldn’t control her tears and anger that they didn’t even notice her presence.
“Max!!!” She scre-med and they immediately disengaged
“Natalie?? Why are you here??” Max asked
“What is going on between you two?? Are you two couples?? Please tell me that was a mistake” She said in tears
Max sighed and faced Iris snd then back to her
“Tell me Max,,,you’re not dating her right??” Natalie asked and immediately hugged him
Iris scoffed
Max pulled her off gently
“Natalie stop,,,Iris is my girlfriend” Max said and Natalie shoulders dropped
“Your girlfriend??” She asked
“I’m,,,sorry” Max muttered
Natalie shook her head in tears and ran out of the class,,,,
Max felt sad for her
“What’s that face ??” Iris asked
“Nothing,,I just feel bad.” He replied
“Don’t feel bad,,I am your girlfriend and that’s it. ” She said and k-ssed him again
Max smiled before reciprocating.

*Evening**
Kristen let out a sigh as she checked herself out again in the mirror,,
She wasn’t satisfied with her look even though she was looking beautiful
“Nanny,,you look beautiful. Don’t tell me you’re changing again,,you’ve tried more than six dresses” Jenna said from the bed
“I look rather ugly,,,I don’t like it” Kristen said and touched her br**st which was becoming fuller and then her belly.
“You’re pretty,you always tell me that right??” Jenna said
Kristen smiled and k-ssed Jenna’s cheek before she proceeded into arranging her hair.
Minutes later they heard a knock on the door
Jenna stood up to get it
“Miss Kristen,,we need to go now” Richærd said
“I will be right there” She replied
Richærd smiled and left
“Jenna,you will be fine right??” Kristen asked worriedly
“Of course,,,the maids will take good care of me. Have fun with daddy” Jenna winked
Kristen laughed and hugged her before going out.

The drive was a long but sweet one as Kristen kept feeding her eyes through the dark streets.
They finally got to their location and the car came to a stop,Kristen looked up and discovered they were in front of a tall,magnificent building.
She opened the door and dropped from the car,,
‘Oh my God,,it’s beautiful!’ Krisyen exclaimed inwardly
“Please come with me” Richærd said to her and started walking in front while she followed
They entered the building and took an elevator which took them to the last floor,the very top of the building
They met Nicholas at the balcony,sitting in front of what seemed like a bouquet to her.
Richærd left immediately
“Oh my God” Kristen muttered
Nicholas stood up and walked to her but she left him and ran to the rails of the balcony to take a look.
The sight was enchanting,breathtaking,wonderful.
“Wow,,,I think am flying” Kristen said happily as the breeze keep on flying her hair all over.
Nicholas chuckled and hugged her from the back.
Kristen turned to face him
“Nick,,,this is amazing. Why did you bring me here??” She asked
“We’ve never had any date yet,,,,I’m such a bad boyfriend right??”
“No you’re not,,,even though you’re busy,,you always make time to spend with me. ” Kristen said and Nicholas smiled
“Wow,,there’s food too?? Can we eat now?? The aroma is out of the world” Kristen said walking to the table but Nicholas pulled her back
“Before that,,I have something for you” He said
Kristen looked up
“What is it??” She asked calmly
Nicholas smiled a little before going on a knee
Kristen’s eyes w¡dened instantly,,
“What ,,,what are you doing??” She asked
Nicholas ignored her and brought out the ring box
She gasped and closed her mouth with her palms
Nicholas opened it and then looked up at her,,,
“Kristen,,,,,”
“Nick,,,” she mumbled at the point of tears
“Please,,,,marry me,,,,”
